Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
| Classes a week | Classes a month | At ₹800 an hour | At ₹2,500 an hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 8 | ₹6,400 a month | ₹20,000 a month |
| 3 | 12 | ₹9,600 a month | ₹30,000 a month |
In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) is easiest to picture as an old centre with newer towns grown around it. In the middle lie the former walled suburbs, Aurangpura and Begumpura among them, with the market streets of Gulmandi and Nirala Bazar close by. East of that core, the numbered neighbourhoods of CIDCO and the numbered parts of HUDCO stretch along Jalna Road towards Chikalthana and the airport. Garkheda, Jyoti Nagar and Ulkanagari fill the south-central ground; the Beed Bypass road carries a newer belt of homes across the south to Paithan Road; and out to the west, beside the Waluj industrial area, CIDCO's second township has grown on the highway towards Ahmednagar and Pune. Children here write the State Board, CBSE, ICSE or ISC, and a few IB or IGCSE. The tutor who works out is usually the one who lives on your side of town and teaches your child's paper.
Everything begins with one short request from you. Include the class and board, the subjects where your child is stuck, your neighbourhood with a landmark that a newcomer could find, the hours your child has left after school and other classes, and whether you prefer lessons at your table, on a screen or both. We then put forward two or three tutors, show you each one's fee before you meet, and make the first lesson with your choice a free demo. In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, four questions shape that shortlist more than any other:
Use the demo as a normal lesson on the chapter your child is doing at school that week. If it does not click, we arrange the next person on the shortlist, and if you want to change tutor months later, that costs nothing either.
The tutors listed for the city are drawn from 1 tutor profile, and 20 neighbourhoods here have a page of their own. Each page lists tutors who live in that neighbourhood first, then those happy to travel there, then tutors from the rest of its zone, the wider city and, finally, online. For home visits we group the city into five parts: CIDCO & Jalna Road, Old City & Central, Garkheda & Jyoti Nagar, Beed Bypass & Paithan Road and West & Waluj. The municipal corporation has its own map of 115 electoral wards; our five groups are simply a way of thinking about how far a tutor has to travel.
CIDCO is the planned township that began as New Aurangabad. The City and Industrial Development Corporation was made its planning authority at the end of 1972, and its neighbourhoods are numbered N-1 to N-15. The Town Centre inside it is the city's main commercial district, and the CIDCO bus stand is one of the two main MSRTC hubs. Homes are independent houses on numbered plots and low- or mid-rise apartment buildings. HUDCO, laid out in parts H-1 to H-20, is mostly houses with small shops on its internal roads. Jalna Road, the main artery of the city, is lined with showrooms, banks and offices, with flats and older houses just behind it. Chikalthana, at the eastern edge, holds the airport and an MIDC industrial area planned beside the township, with newer apartment projects and small villas among the units.
Numbers do most of the work in this zone. Send the tutor your sector or part number, the house or building name and a nearby landmark, because many lanes in CIDCO and HUDCO look alike. Houses mean a knock at the door; the newer buildings in Chikalthana keep a gate where visitors give a name and flat number. Jalna Road is at its busiest on weekday evenings and at shift times, and a home that needs a U-turn across it is harder to reach than one on the near side, so a tutor already living in CIDCO, HUDCO or Garkheda is usually the steadiest match.
The old city was made up of walled suburbs called puras, and in the nineteenth century Begumpura and Aurangpura were the most crowded of them. Aurangpura is now a busy central area of shops, offices and coaching classes around Nirala Bazar, with family houses on narrow lanes and apartment buildings above the main-road frontages. Begumpura, near Shahgunj and Pahadsingpura, mixes older houses with small buildings of compact flats. Samarth Nagar, with the PIN code 431001, sits close to the Central Bus Stand and has family houses, apartment buildings and a few large bungalows, with the cantonment side among its neighbours. Osmanpura, also written Usmanpura, takes in New Osmanpura and the colonies around it, mostly flats in multistorey buildings with older houses between.
Being in the middle is this zone's advantage: tutors can arrive from almost any direction, by city bus, auto or two-wheeler, and the railway station on Station Road in Padampura is close to Osmanpura. The difficulty is the last stretch. Old lanes are narrow, car parking is scarce and the bazaars around Gulmandi and Nirala Bazar fill up after dark, so a tutor on two wheels has the easier time. Give the nearest chowk as the landmark, fix a time on the first day, and in the multistorey buildings share the flat number for the entrance register.
Garkheda is one of the larger residential parts of the city and is counted among its newer neighbourhoods. It takes in Garkheda Parisar and smaller nagars such as Gajanan Nagar, Pundlik Nagar and Ashok Nagar around Sutgirni Chowk, with the stadium and sports complex nearby. Most homes are flats, with houses in the older colonies. Ulkanagari, PIN code 431009, is largely multistorey apartments and some builder floors near the cricket stadium. Jyoti Nagar is quiet for somewhere so central, with Tilak Nagar beside it and the Beed Bypass road not far off. Vedant Nagar, on the railway station side, is mostly builder floor apartments on wide internal roads, between Shahanurwadi, Usmanpura and Bansilal Nagar.
Apartment living sets the routine here. Many buildings have a watchman who writes down visitors, so before the demo send the building name, the flat number and a chowk the tutor will know, such as Sutgirni Chowk or Deolai Chowk. Some older buildings in Ulkanagari have no lift and little parking, which suits a tutor on a two-wheeler. In Vedant Nagar's builder floors there is rarely a register, and the station nearby is handy for tutors who come in by train. Evening traffic gathers on the roads towards Osmanpura and the bypass, so pick an hour either side of it.
Beed Bypass is the road that links the Paithan Road side with the highway towards Beed, and the name has stuck to the band of homes along it: apartment buildings, independent floors, villas and plotted layouts, many of them newer than anything in the centre. Satara Parisar, reached from the bypass, includes the Satara and Satara Deolai areas and has filled with flats, builder floors and plots in recent years. Deolai centres on Deolai Chowk and is mostly houses and plots, with colonies such as Naik Nagar. To the south-west, Kanchanwadi has a wide main road, buildings of up to seven floors and plenty of independent houses, and Itkheda, on the Paithan Road side, is mainly mid-rise apartment buildings, many with lifts, covered parking and security staff.
Directions matter more here than anywhere else in the city, because much of the belt is still filling in. Tell the tutor which side of the bypass you live on, which turning to take, and the layout or building name; add a map pin for the first visit. Gated layouts and Itkheda's buildings usually want a name at the cabin, while Deolai's houses let a tutor ride to the door. The bypass carries heavy through traffic and Paithan Road carries heavy vehicles at peak hours, so a tutor from Kanchanwadi, Deolai or Garkheda is often easier to keep than one coming from the old city.
CIDCO Waluj Mahanagar is the second township planned by CIDCO, which became its planning authority in October 1991. It was conceived as a ring township, separate nagars strung around a ring road with the Waluj MIDC industrial area at the centre, and its homes include apartment buildings, gated plotted layouts and row houses. Bajaj Nagar, beside the industrial area on the highway towards Ahmednagar and Pune, is mostly independent houses with some small buildings, and bus stops within walking distance. Padegaon lies nearer the city on the road towards Nashik, close to the cantonment, with which it shares the PIN code 431002; it has newer apartment buildings, plotted layouts and houses.
This side of the city runs on shift timings. The highway into town is busiest when factory shifts change and when offices open and close, so a tutor who lives in Waluj Mahanagar, Bajaj Nagar or Padegaon is far more practical for regular lessons than one riding out from the centre. Share the nagar or sector name, the layout and the nearest ring-road landmark; gated layouts may keep a register at the entrance, while Bajaj Nagar's houses need only a house number.
Children in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar sit the Maharashtra State Board, CBSE, or CISCE's ICSE at Class 10 and ISC at Class 12, and a smaller number take the IB Diploma or Cambridge IGCSE. Strength in one of these does not carry over neatly to another, so when we read a request, the board, the class and the language of instruction are always considered together.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), based in Pune, conducts the SSC examination and the HSC examination, and publishes their timetables and results on its website. It works through nine divisional boards, and the city has one of its own: the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar divisional board. The subject codes and syllabi for SSC and HSC general subjects, and the Board Act of 1965 under which it works, are published on the same official site. For patterns, dates and results, rely only on mahahsscboard.in; for tutors, see Maharashtra board tutors in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
A CBSE paper is built on the NCERT books, and more of its questions now ask a student to use an idea in a setting they have not seen. That suits a teenager who also has JEE or NEET in view. The usual weak spot is the written answer: after months of multiple-choice practice, steps get skipped and marks drain away.
CISCE papers cover a lot of ground and reward precise, complete writing, and English includes literature texts that take genuine reading. A good tutor divides the year into revision cycles, gives timed written practice regularly and makes sure project work is done well before the last term.
These students are fewer, and the nearest specialist is often an online one. IB marks include coursework, and a tutor may advise on an Internal Assessment or Extended Essay but must never write it. IGCSE preparation centres on past papers marked against the official mark scheme.
Most requests from the city start with Maths, Science, Physics or Chemistry, usually around Class 8 or 9. Tutors on NXTutors also teach English, Marathi, Hindi, Social Science, Biology, Computer Science, Accountancy and Economics, and many will take every subject for a primary-school child. Each of the four core subjects has a page for the city: maths home tutors, science home tutors, physics home tutors and chemistry home tutors.
What makes the hours count differs by subject. In Maths, the tutor should hunt down the year where a topic first went wrong and repair it there, even if that means going back two classes. In Physics, a student should be able to explain what is happening before reaching for a formula. Chemistry asks for three separate habits: practised numericals in Physical, reactions understood as families in Organic, and steady reading of the book in Inorganic, all covered in our guide to Class 12 Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. A student moving from Marathi-medium study to English books in Class 11 needs a tutor who gives each new term in both languages for a while and then drops the Marathi; our spoken English guide for students helps between lessons.
It can, as long as the tutor's role is to support the school timetable and any coaching your child already attends, not to run a second, competing course. A State Board Science student in Maharashtra may be aiming at MHT-CET, conducted by the State CET Cell, alongside JEE Main or NEET UG, so one plan has to serve several papers. The hours tend to earn their keep when the tutor:
NTA conducts JEE Main in two sessions in the first half of the year, and those who qualify can go on to JEE Advanced. NEET UG is held once a year and half of its marks come from Biology, so the NCERT Biology books deserve a line-by-line reading. Take MHT-CET's syllabus and dates only from the CET Cell's notices at cetcell.mahacet.org. To give a new tutor a shared starting point, pass on our plans for JEE Maths, JEE Physics and JEE Chemistry, and our NCERT-first approach to NEET Biology.
Having the tutor at the table suits younger children, for students whose attention slides on a screen and for subjects where you want every line of working seen, such as Maths and numerical Physics. Online lessons open the door to teachers anywhere in India, which matters most for IB, IGCSE, ISC electives and advanced entrance problems. In this city, a few local facts usually tip the balance:
Many families combine two or three home lessons a week with a short online check before tests. See online tutors for students in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and weigh the options in our home tutor or online tutor comparison.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Every tutor on NXTutors fixes their own rate, and you see it before the demo. Rather than comparing numbers alone, compare what each hour includes. These are the questions worth putting to every tutor on your shortlist:
Put the money where the difficulty is: one strong tutor for the hardest subject tends to do more than lighter help spread over four. We do not suggest tutors above the budget you give us. The pricing guide sets out fees by class and subject, and our post on home tuition fees in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar goes through the questions local parents ask most.
A profile tells you who might suit; the demo tells you who actually does. Over that first hour, ask yourself whether the tutor:
For an apartment building or gated layout, give the watchman the tutor's name before the demo; for a house, send the colony, the house number and a map pin. We ask a parent to be at home for the demo, and lessons go well in a shared room. Our demo class checklist for parents and our guide to choosing a board and stream go into more detail.
State Board, CBSE and CISCE schools do not all open their sessions in the same month, so take the start of the year from your own school's calendar and the exam dates only from the board's notices. Within that, a board or entrance year in the city usually moves through these phases:
An early start gives the tutor a whole year; a later one still helps, with more weight on past papers.
Send us the class, board, subjects, your neighbourhood with a landmark, and the hours that fit around school and any other classes. We suggest two or three tutors; you pick one for a free demo and decide afterwards. Choose your neighbourhood from the list on this page, browse all tutors, or book a free demo class. If no home tutor is close enough yet, an online tutor from elsewhere in India can start right away.
