ICSE & ISC home tutors by locality in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad)

ICSE and ISC home tutors in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad): breadth, long answers and a steady project calendar

CISCE's ICSE at Class 10 and ISC at Class 12 sit alongside the Maharashtra State Board and CBSE in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad). The CISCE route asks for more breadth and more writing than most students expect: many separate papers, internal work that carries real weight, and answers that must show every step. A tutor can know the science well and still not know the CISCE style. This page explains how ICSE subjects are grouped and examined, the ISC rules that catch families out, how to revise a wide syllabus in rounds, and how tutors reach six localities in the south and west of the city. It was prepared with Abhinandan Tiwary (Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths), Aaditya Kashyap (CBSE and ICSE science) and Ajay Vatsyayan (IB, IGCSE and ISC maths).

ICSE in a city of three boards

Where the State Board, CBSE and CISCE run side by side, an ICSE family should ask a direct question before hiring: how many CISCE students has this tutor taught, and in which subjects? The differences are concrete. ICSE splits science into three separately examined subjects from Class 9, treats mathematics as a long paper with commercial topics, and gives a full half of the marks in one subject group to internal work. ISC then adds subject rules that a family must plan around from the first month of Class 11.

Because a tutor who knows CISCE well may live in another part of the city, an ICSE family may well combine one subject at home with another online. That decision is easier once you know which subjects need the most help.

How ICSE subjects are grouped

The three ICSE groups under the CISCE regulations
GroupWho takes itExamplesExam : internal
Group IEvery studentEnglish, a second language, History, Civics and Geography80 : 20
Group IITwo or three subjects chosenMathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, a modern foreign or classical language, Environmental Science80 : 20
Group IIIOne subject chosenApplied subjects such as Computer Applications, Economic Applications, Commercial Applications, Art, Physical Education, Robotics and AI50 : 50

The Group III subject is where steady internal work pays most. A student who lets its project slide until the last term puts half of that subject's marks at risk.

Mathematics and the three sciences

Mathematics is a single paper of 80 marks in three hours, with 20 internal marks from at least two assignments, each marked by the school's teacher and by an external examiner. Commercial mathematics, such as banking and shares, sits beside algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, and examiners expect the working to be shown in full, so complete, legible steps are worth practising from the first chapter.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three papers, each of 80 marks in two hours, each with 20 marks for internal practical work. Doing well in one does not help the other two. Ask whether one tutor will handle all three or whether the weakest needs a specialist; Aaditya teaches CBSE and ICSE science, and the city's physics, chemistry and biology pages list subject tutors.

Use the examiners' own reports

After each exam season CISCE publishes an Analysis of Pupil Performance for its subjects. These reports show which questions candidates found hard and the mistakes examiners saw most often, with comments on what a good answer contained. They are worth reading together with the student, subject by subject. Ask the tutor to bring the latest report for your child's weakest subject to the demo and explain one point from it; a tutor who uses them alongside the specimen papers is teaching to the real marking.

Revising a wide syllabus in rounds

With many papers to sit, the danger in ICSE is not one hard chapter but the early chapters quietly fading. A simple cycle prevents it:

An example six-week cycle for a Class 10 ICSE student
WeeksNew workLook back
1 and 2Current school chapters in maths and the weakest scienceOne old chapter each, a short timed question
3 and 4Current chapters; one long written answer in English or historyGroup III project checked against its dates
5Current chaptersA specimen-paper section under time
6LightReview the errors from weeks 1 to 5 and reset the list

Timed writing should start in Class 9, not in the final term, because speed in long answers grows slowly. Our ICSE and ISC maths guide, written for another city, explains how to pace the maths papers.

Classes 6 to 8: building the habits ICSE will need

The middle-school years on a CISCE syllabus are the easiest time to build the habits Class 10 will demand. Three matter most. Reading longer English texts and writing a paragraph about them each week prepares a child for the composition and literature papers. Setting out mathematics with every step on a separate line, even when the answer seems obvious, prepares for an examiner who marks the working. And keeping a simple science notebook, with a diagram and two lines of explanation for each experiment, makes the Class 9 and 10 practical files feel familiar. A tutor for these classes does not need to be a board specialist, but should know where the CISCE route is heading and teach with that in mind.

ISC in Classes 11 and 12: the rules to plan around

  • English is compulsory, with three to five electives and no more than six subjects in total.
  • Subject choices are fixed after a September deadline in the Class 11 year, and any Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11.
  • Promotion to Class 12 needs 35% in four subjects, English among them, and 75% attendance.
  • Practical exams are compulsory where a subject has them, and Physics cannot be combined with Engineering Science.
  • Results are graded 1 to 9; a pass certificate needs four subjects including English, plus Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service.

ISC Mathematics has an 80-mark theory paper of three hours and 20 marks for project work in both years. Ajay Vatsyayan teaches ISC mathematics; see the ISC maths tutor page and our city maths home tutors page.

After Class 10: stay with ISC or change board?

After the ICSE, some students continue to ISC, while others move to a CBSE school or a junior college for the Maharashtra State Board HSC. Each path has its own textbooks and question styles, so the first term after a move is where a tutor helps most: mapping the new syllabus against what the student already knows and setting short tests to find gaps early. Choose the route with the stream in mind, not only the school. Our guide to choosing a Class 11 stream sets out the questions to ask, and the CBSE and Maharashtra Board pages for the city describe the other two routes.

How ICSE tutors reach six localities

  • Jyoti Nagar: central and quiet, mostly flats; a tutor from Osmanpura, Garkheda or the station side can reach it easily, and the watchman will want the building name and flat number.
  • Satara Parisar: large and still growing; give the layout name, a landmark and the turning from the Beed Bypass, and look first for a tutor in Kanchanwadi or Deolai.
  • Itkheda: mid-rise apartments with lifts and security on the Paithan Road side; register the tutor with the wing and flat number before the demo.
  • Kanchanwadi: flats in buildings of up to seven floors and independent houses, well placed for tutors from Paithan Road, Satara Parisar or the station side.
  • Padegaon: on the western side towards Nashik; tutors from the cantonment side and the city centre ride out, while those from Waluj come in along the highway.
  • Bajaj Nagar: beside the Waluj industrial area; a tutor living locally is the steady choice, and an online specialist can cover a subject nobody nearby teaches.

For the wider picture, see the Garkheda and Jyoti Nagar, Beed Bypass and Paithan Road, West and Waluj, Old City and Central and CIDCO and Jalna Road zone guides, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tutors page and our city home tuition guide.

Home or online for ICSE and ISC?

Mathematics and the sciences in Classes 9 and 10 usually go well at home, where the tutor can read the student's working and check the practical file. English and history, with their long written answers, suit online sessions with a shared document, where the tutor marks drafts line by line. For ISC electives, the right specialist may live far away, so online is often the practical answer. See online tutors for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and the English home tutors page for the city.

Checking a tutor against the CISCE style

  1. Ask how many ICSE or ISC students they have taught, and in which subjects.
  2. Hand over a specimen-paper question and ask them to mark a sample answer the way a CISCE examiner would.
  3. Ask what the latest Analysis of Pupil Performance says about your child's weakest subject.
  4. Ask how they will keep the Group III project or the ISC project work on schedule.
  5. Agree a weekly slot they can keep from where they live.

ICSE & ISC Home Tutor in Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar): common questions

How do I find an ICSE or ISC home tutor through NXTutors in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?

To find an ICSE or ISC home tutor in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, send the class, board, subjects and your locality with a landmark. We match two or three tutors who teach the CISCE syllabus and can reach you, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

Why does ICSE feel heavier than CBSE or the State Board in Aurangabad?

ICSE feels heavier in Aurangabad because CISCE asks for more papers and more writing than most students expect. Science is three separately examined subjects from Class 9, mathematics is a long paper with commercial topics, and the Group III subject gives half its marks to internal work. Revising in rounds and early timed writing keep it manageable.

How are the three ICSE subject groups examined for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar students?

For Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar students, ICSE Groups I and II are examined 80 marks by paper and 20 internal, while Group III is split evenly at 50 and 50. Group I is compulsory, covering English, a second language, history, civics and geography. Group II offers two or three choices, and Group III one applied subject, such as Computer Applications.

How are ICSE mathematics and science marked for an Aurangabad Class 10 student?

For an Aurangabad Class 10 student, ICSE mathematics is one 80-mark, three-hour paper with 20 internal marks from at least two assignments. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three papers of 80 marks in two hours, each with 20 marks for practical work. Examiners expect full working, so complete, legible steps matter from the first chapter.

How can the CISCE Analysis of Pupil Performance help an ICSE student in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?

The CISCE Analysis of Pupil Performance helps an ICSE student in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar see which questions candidates found hard and the mistakes examiners saw most. It also comments on what a good answer contained. Read it subject by subject with the specimen papers, and ask a prospective tutor to explain one point from it at the demo.

Which ISC Class 11 rules should Aurangabad families plan around?

Aurangabad families should plan around ISC rules from the first month of Class 11, starting with compulsory English and three to five electives, six subjects at most. Choices are fixed after a September deadline, Class 12 subjects must be studied in Class 11, and promotion needs 35% in four subjects including English plus 75% attendance.

How can an ICSE student in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar revise many papers without forgetting early chapters?

An ICSE student in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar can revise many papers in a six-week cycle so early chapters do not quietly fade. Each fortnight mixes current school chapters with one old chapter and a short timed question, a long English or history answer and a Group III project check. Week five adds a specimen section, and week six reviews errors.

Should an ICSE student in Aurangabad stay with ISC or change board after Class 10?

Whether an Aurangabad ICSE student stays with ISC or moves to CBSE or the State Board HSC depends on the stream and subjects wanted. Each route has its own textbooks and question styles. After a move, a tutor maps the new syllabus against what the student knows and tests early for gaps. See our CBSE, ICSE, IB or IGCSE guide.

For ICSE in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, which papers go better face to face and which over a shared screen?

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, ICSE mathematics and the sciences in Classes 9 and 10 usually go well at home, where the tutor reads the working and checks the practical file. English and history suit online sessions with a shared document marked line by line. For ISC electives, the right specialist may live far away, so online is often practical.

Is ICSE tuition in Classes 6 to 8 worthwhile for an Aurangabad child?

ICSE tuition in Classes 6 to 8 is worthwhile for an Aurangabad child when it builds habits rather than racing ahead. Weekly reading with a written English paragraph, mathematics set out step by step, and a science notebook with a diagram for each experiment prepare the child for the heavier Class 9 and 10 papers.

How much should we budget for CISCE home tuition in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own fee, shown to you before the demo. The pricing guide and the home tuition fees post for the city explain what moves a quote.
