Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Families in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) choose between the Maharashtra State Board, CBSE and CISCE's ICSE and ISC, with a smaller number on IB or IGCSE. A tutor here may teach more than one of these boards, so a CBSE family needs to check that the person they hire knows NCERT textbooks, CBSE's question styles and the changes in the 2026-27 curriculum. This page sets out what CBSE asks for from Class 6 to Class 12, what is new in Classes 9 and 10, how theory and practical marks split in the senior classes, and how tutors reach six localities in the south and west of the city. It was prepared with Abhinandan Tiwary, who teaches Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths, and Aaditya Kashyap, who teaches CBSE and ICSE science.
The Maharashtra State Board sets its own SSC and HSC syllabi and papers; CBSE works from NCERT textbooks and its own sample papers. Both cover similar science and mathematics, but the order of chapters, the style of questions and the marking differ enough that a tutor who switches between them without care can teach the wrong format. Three things to check before you hire:
Language matters too. A child who speaks Marathi or Hindi at home and studies in English may need key terms explained in both for a while, but every answer must be practised in English.
| Class | What matters | A tutor's useful job |
|---|---|---|
| 6 to 8 | Arithmetic fluency, reading comprehension, basic science ideas | Fill gaps early; build the habit of written working |
| 9 | One common maths and one common science paper; optional Advanced papers | Secure the common paper first; Advanced only where the subject already comes easily |
| 10 | Two board exams, the first compulsory; papers of 80 marks with 20 internal | Treat the first exam as the real one; practise competency questions every week |
| 11 | Stream subjects at a sharp jump in difficulty | Close Class 10 gaps before they compound |
| 12 | Board papers on the full Class 12 syllabus, practicals or internal marks | One plan that serves the board and any entrance test |
Under the 2026-27 curriculum, every Class 9 student writes one common mathematics paper and one common science paper. In addition, a student may choose an Advanced paper in one subject, both or neither: 25 marks in an hour, entirely higher-order questions on additional content. Advanced marks do not count in the aggregate, though a score of 50% or more is recorded. The old split between Basic and Standard mathematics is being withdrawn, with the 2026-27 Class 10 batch the last to finish under it.
Our advice is simple: a tutor's first job in Class 9 is the common paper. Add the Advanced option only if your child is already comfortable and wants the challenge, not to chase a line on the marksheet.
A CBSE notification issued in 2026 set out two Class 10 board exams. All students sit the first. A student who passes may take the second to improve marks in up to three of science, mathematics, social science and the languages. Treat the second as a safety net, not a plan. In each major subject the board paper carries 80 marks and internal assessment 20, and the pass mark is 33%. The third language in these transition years is assessed in school without a board paper.
A tutor can help most by setting one competency-style set every week: a case passage in science, a data question in mathematics, a source extract in social science, each marked against CBSE's sample-paper scheme. Our Class 10 maths preparation plan, Class 10 science notes and the Class 10 maths tutor page go further.
| Subject (code) | Theory | Practical or internal |
|---|---|---|
| Physics (042), Chemistry (043), Biology (044) | 70 | 30 practical |
| Mathematics (041) or Applied Mathematics (241), one only | 80 | 20 internal |
| Accountancy (055), Economics (030), Business Studies (054) | 80 | 20 internal |
In the sciences, nearly a third of the marks come from practical work, so a student who neglects the record book or the viva gives away marks that are easy to keep. The Class 12 paper covers the full Class 12 syllabus, and CBSE has said senior papers will lean further towards application. The Class 12 physics strategies, organic and inorganic chemistry guide and calculus and algebra guide help in the board year.
Some students in the city change board at a natural break: from a State Board school to a CBSE school for Class 11, or the other way, often because of a family move or a change of stream. The science and mathematics overlap a great deal, but the student meets new textbooks, a different chapter order and a different style of question in the same term as the jump in difficulty that Class 11 brings anyway.
A tutor can make the first term much smoother. Start by listing the NCERT chapters of the new class and marking the topics the old syllabus treated lightly or in a different order. Then set a few short diagnostic questions on each, so the gaps show up in week one rather than in the first school test. For a student who studied science in Marathi, give the English terms with the familiar ones for the first months, and have every answer written in English from the start. Keep the plan written down and review it with the family once a month.
A CBSE science student here may be preparing for JEE (Main) or NEET (UG), and may also register for MHT-CET, conducted by the State CET Cell. The NCERT books CBSE uses sit underneath the national entrance syllabi, which helps, but objective practice does not train written board answers. A tutor should plan the year so the board paper does not suffer: written answers weekly from the second term of Class 12, practical record kept current, and entrance practice fitted around both. The JEE and NEET pages for the city explain the entrance side. For MHT-CET, take the pattern only from the CET Cell's own notice.
| Locality | Share this | Timing note |
|---|---|---|
| Jyoti Nagar | Building name and flat number for the watchman | Roads towards the Beed Bypass build up in the evening |
| Vedant Nagar | House number, floor and a landmark; builder floors rarely keep a register | Station-side roads are busy in the evening |
| Beed Bypass | Colony, the side of the bypass, the turning and a map pin | Heavy through traffic at peak hours |
| Deolai | Colony, house number and Deolai Chowk as the landmark | The chowk and bypass are busy in the evening |
| Kanchanwadi | Building and flat number for the gate, or the house number | Early evening or weekends work well |
| CIDCO Waluj Mahanagar | Nagar or sector, layout name, ring-road landmark | Plan around shift times on the highway |
Zone guides: Garkheda and Jyoti Nagar, Beed Bypass and Paithan Road, West and Waluj, CIDCO and Jalna Road and Old City and Central. All localities are on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tutors page.
For Classes 6 to 10, a nearby tutor at home usually works well: the tutor sees the notebook, the handwriting and the habits. In Classes 11 and 12, many families keep one subject at home and move another online to reach a specialist who lives across the city or elsewhere in India. Our online tutors for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar page and the home or online comparison help you decide. Subject pages for the city: maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English. For CISCE students, see the ICSE and ISC page.

Only if they know CBSE's books and question styles. The State Board sets its own syllabus and papers, while CBSE works from NCERT and a fresh sample paper each year. At the demo, ask the tutor to teach a competency-based question from the current CBSE sample paper and judge the result.

Everyone sits the first exam. A student who passes may take the second to improve marks in up to three of science, mathematics, social science and the languages. Prepare for the first as the real exam and treat the second as a safety net, not part of the plan.
In the 2026-27 curriculum, physics, chemistry and biology carry 70 theory and 30 practical marks. Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, of which a student takes one, and accountancy, economics and business studies carry 80 theory and 20 internal. A tutor should keep the practical record on schedule, not only the theory.
Yes, if the tutor guards the board paper. Objective entrance practice does not build written board answers, so ask for one written answer a week from the second term of Class 12 and a current practical record. For MHT-CET, conducted by the State CET Cell, read its pattern from the CET Cell's notice.
Ask the tutor to list the NCERT chapters for Class 11, mark the topics the old syllabus covered lightly or in another order, and test each with a few short questions in the first weeks. Gaps then surface early, not in the first school test. Answers should be written in English from the start.
