Not sure which tutor fits? Tell us the class, board and your sector: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
| Classes a week | Classes a month | At ₹800 an hour | At ₹2,500 an hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 8 | ₹6,400 a month | ₹20,000 a month |
| 3 | 12 | ₹9,600 a month | ₹30,000 a month |
In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Firozabad lies on the old NH 2 between Agra and Shikohabad, with the Yamuna flowing to its south, and many people across India know the city first for its glass and bangles. Its older name, according to the district's own history page, was Chandwar Nagar, and the present town grew in the sixteenth century on the lands of several villages, Rasulpur among them. For a parent hunting for a tutor, though, the useful picture is simpler. Country roads fan out north to Jalesar and Kotla; the highway carries Suhag Nagar and Mahaveer Nagar towards Agra; Gandhi Nagar and Arya Nagar hold the centre; the railway runs along the south past Tilak Nagar and Rasulpur; and Asafabad closes the eastern corner. Children here sit the UP Board, CBSE or ICSE papers, in Hindi, English or a blend of both. The question that matters is which tutor can reach your gali on the same evening every week and knows exactly which paper your child will write.
You write to us once, in a few lines. Say which class your child is in and which board, which chapters have become a struggle, the name of your colony together with the locality, the hour that stays empty after school and homework, and whether lessons should happen at your home, on a screen or partly each way. If you have a monthly figure in mind, share it, because we leave out anyone above it. We come back with two or three matched tutors, each with the fee already on view, and the first lesson with the one you choose is a free demo. In Firozabad, four details decide most matches:
Treat the demo as a working lesson on whatever chapter the class is doing this week. If the fit is wrong, tell us and the next tutor on the shortlist steps in; moving to another tutor later in the year costs nothing either.
Firozabad shortlists are drawn from our pool of tutor profiles, and 18 Firozabad localities have pages of their own. Every one of those pages lists tutors in a fixed sequence: people who live in the locality, then people willing to travel to it, then the rest of the zone, then the whole city, and last of all online tutors. For home visits we split the city into five zones, described below starting on the north side, moving round by the west, through the centre and the south, and ending in the east: Jalesar Road and Kotla Road, Suhag Nagar and Agra Road, Gandhi Nagar and City Centre, Tilak Nagar and Rasulpur and Asafabad and Madina Colony. We drew these lines ourselves to plan tutor travel; they are not wards and do not follow any official boundary.
Two roads leave the north of the city, one bending north-west to Jalesar and the other north-east to Kotla, and the five localities of this zone fill the ground between and beside them. Vibhav Nagar sits near the start of Jalesar Road, and property sites often print it as Vibhab Nagar. Sarswati Nagar, spelt Saraswati Nagar just as often, is its immediate neighbour. Dakhal and Tapa Kalan, which some listings shorten to Tapa Kala, lie between the two roads, and both hold smaller colonies whose names families add to their addresses. Kakrau is the farthest out, at the north-west tip, where the city road that follows the Firozabad Distributary canal starts its run around the northern and eastern edge of town.
Because these localities sit close together, a tutor living in one of them can often teach in two or three others on the same afternoon, so the nearby pool is wider than any single colony suggests. Homes range from family houses held for generations to newer ones in colonies that have grown up around the older names. In Kakrau, parts still feel like the edge of a village, so say which side of the canal road you live on and offer a daylight slot in the winter months.
Suhag Nagar is a large, mixed residential area on the west side of the city, where some homes face the old NH 2 and many more sit on quieter lanes behind it. Mahaveer Nagar, also written Mahavir Nagar, runs along the same highway a little closer to the centre, and the two are listed as neighbours. Rahna, or Rehna, lies further out to the north-west, on the stretch where the old highway leaves Firozabad for Agra and Delhi. It keeps an older village core with newer houses around it, so addresses there are usually given by a lane, a crossing or a shop everybody knows.
The highway carries through traffic in both directions, which makes the side of the road you live on, and the crossing where a tutor should turn, the two most useful facts in your first message. For a home on the main road, say where a two-wheeler can stand. For a home in the back lanes, the gali number and a map pin do the job. In Rahna, meet the tutor at the corner of your lane on the first visit.
Gandhi Nagar lies near the main crossings of the city, and that central position means tutors from almost every direction can reach it. Arya Nagar is a compact neighbourhood beside it, small enough that the exact lane matters more than the locality name when someone is finding a house for the first time. Nai Basti, whose name means new settlement, lies just south of the centre towards the railway side; despite the name, it is long settled, and many families have lived in the same lanes for years.
Being central works in your favour when you need a subject specialist, because the shortlist can draw on tutors from every zone and still stay close. The cost is time in the lanes. Homes stand close together and the centre is busiest in the evening, so an hour straight after school or a weekend morning usually starts on time. Lead with the gali number and house number, since many lanes look alike, name something the tutor can see from the main road before turning in, and say where a scooter can be left. Children in this zone study in Hindi-medium UP Board classes and in English-medium CBSE or ICSE ones, and a move from one medium to the other is worth mentioning early.
Tilak Nagar is a settled residential area between the city centre and the railway line that runs along the south of Firozabad, with lanes linking it to the roads towards Rasulpur and Ram Nagar. Ram Nagar, also written Ramnagar, lies near Rasulpur and beside Shyam Nagar. Rasulpur, or Rasoolpur, carries one of the old village names on whose land the city was built, and addresses there usually include a gali number. Gazipur is on the southern outskirts towards the Yamuna, a quieter edge of the city with village roots and a branch post office of its own.
Firozabad railway station sits on the Delhi–Kanpur section of the Howrah–Delhi main line, and so many homes on this side describe themselves in relation to the line. Two names need special care. Ram Nagar exists in a great many cities, so add Firozabad and a nearby colony when you share the address or search online. Gazipur should be written without the h, so nobody confuses it with Ghazipur district far to the east of the state. A tutor who lives in any of these four localities can usually manage the others, and an online tutor can pick up any subject nobody nearby teaches.
Asafabad, often written Asfabad, sits at the south-east corner of the built-up city, where the canal-side road from Kakrau ends and the old highway carries on east. It is one of the oldest names in the city's story, since the account of how modern Firozabad was founded begins in the village of Asafabad, and today it has a branch post office and a mainly residential character. Madina Colony lies between Asafabad and the centre, a colony of family houses where addresses go by block or gali and house number. Jagdamba Nagar is further north-east, beyond the centre, and is listed with Asafabad and Nai Basti among its neighbours.
Households here often have children at two or three different stages of school at once, so a request that asks one tutor to take two children back to back, each on a separate plan, is common and sensible. Many families start with one tutor for every subject and move to subject tutors in Class 9 or Class 11. In Asafabad, name a crossing on the highway side and ask the tutor to message you when setting out; in Jagdamba Nagar, add a landmark and a map pin.
Firozabad children mostly follow one of three boards, with a few international learners besides. We match on board and class together, because a tutor who knows one style of paper inside out may be new to another.
| Board | The shape of it | Ask the tutor this |
|---|---|---|
| UP Board (Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, UPMSP), head office at Prayagraj | Created in 1921, with its first examination in 1923, and on a 10+2 pattern from the beginning: the High School examination after ten years of school and the Intermediate examination after Class 12. | Do you teach from the prescribed books, in the medium my child will write in, and practise from the board's model papers and question bank? |
| CBSE | NCERT books at the core, with questions that check whether a student can apply an idea, not only repeat it. | How will you train complete written answers, step by step, alongside objective practice? |
| CISCE: ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) | Many subjects, long written papers, English literature texts and project work through the year. | How will you spread revision so that no chapter waits until the final weeks? |
| IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE | Internal coursework as well as final papers for IB; past papers and mark schemes for IGCSE. | How will you guide an Internal Assessment or Extended Essay while every word stays my child's? |
The UP Board's website holds the syllabus, model papers and a question bank for High School and Intermediate students, and career guidance for the agriculture, arts, commerce and science streams. Check timetables and notices on upmsp.edu.in directly, not from a screenshot passed around a parents' group. Each board has a Firozabad page of its own: UP Board tutors in Firozabad, CBSE home tutors in Firozabad and ICSE home tutors in Firozabad. IB and IGCSE learners usually find the right specialist online, and our comparison of CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE sets the four side by side.
One situation comes up often: a child switching from a Hindi-medium UP Board school to an English-medium one, or the reverse, needs a few weeks of subject vocabulary before the new textbook starts to make sense. Tell the tutor about it at the very start.
Early years are about habits. A child who reads aloud smoothly, knows tables without counting and closes each notebook properly is ready for what comes next. One tutor for all subjects, a few evenings a week, is usually enough. When a family speaks Hindi at home and the school teaches in English, a few pages of reading aloud in every session pay off. Before any entrance foundation course, make sure fractions, decimals and simple equations are solid.
Class 9 is where Maths and Science suddenly widen, and Class 10 ends in the UP Board High School examination or the CBSE or ICSE board papers. Bringing in a subject tutor during Class 9, before the pressure builds, saves a hard scramble later. CBSE students can work alongside our Class 10 Maths preparation plan and Class 10 Science notes.
The step from Class 10 to Class 11 is steep. Physics, Chemistry and Maths speed up, and commerce students meet Accountancy and Economics for the first time. Here one specialist for each worrying subject usually beats one tutor for everything. Our Class 12 Physics strategies and calculus and algebra guide fit this year.
Most families start with Maths and the sciences from Class 9 onwards, yet tutor profiles reach well beyond them: Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Social Science, Computer Science, Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies, and for small children, one tutor across the whole timetable. The core subjects each have a Firozabad page: maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English.
What does good subject teaching look like at the table? A Maths tutor goes looking for the first line where a sum went wrong, even if that line belongs to a chapter from last year. A Physics tutor asks the student to explain the situation in plain words before any formula is written. A Chemistry tutor keeps numericals, reactions and facts all moving each week instead of finishing one block and letting it fade; our Organic and Inorganic Chemistry guide for Class 12 shows one way. A Biology tutor wants neat, labelled diagrams and the textbook's own terms. An English tutor helping a student from Hindi-medium books builds words in both languages first and lets English take over gradually.
Hindi and Sanskrit are examination papers for UP Board students, and they are easy to neglect when everyone is worried about Maths. A tutor who knows the prescribed texts can lift those marks with steady, short practice. If your child is comfortable in Maths but keeps losing marks in the language papers, the tutoring hours may do more good there. Our note on what to look for in a home tutor's qualifications helps when you compare profiles.
Yes, as long as the tutor has a clear job. Some Firozabad students attend a coaching class, some prepare on their own with books and online material, and some only want strong foundations in Class 9 and 10. A personal tutor's hour belongs to one student, and it is worth most when it covers something nothing else in the week covers. Four briefs work well:
About the exams themselves, trust only official sources. NTA conducts JEE Main in two sessions early in the year, and candidates who qualify may go on to JEE Advanced; NEET UG is held once a year, and Biology carries half of its marks, which is why patient, line-by-line reading of the NCERT Biology books repays the effort. Dates, eligibility and rules belong to each year's information bulletin on nta.ac.in and jeeadv.ac.in. For more, see JEE tutors in Firozabad and NEET tutors in Firozabad.
Either can work; the child and the available hour make the choice. Home visits suit children below roughly Class 6, anyone whose attention slips on a screen, and subjects where you want to see every line of working on paper. Online lessons open up tutors from all over India, which matters most for IB, IGCSE, an unusual ISC elective or advanced problem solving. A few things about Firozabad tilt the balance:
Plenty of households mix the two with the same tutor: two or three visits during the week and a short video call the evening before a class test. See online tuition in Firozabad and our comparison of home and online tutoring.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
That is a range, not a price list. Every tutor sets their own fee, and you can read the fee of each shortlisted tutor before the demo is booked. Instead of simply comparing numbers, put the same questions to every tutor:
Put the money first where marks are slipping fastest; a strong tutor in that one subject usually does more than the same budget split across three. We do not shortlist anyone above the budget you give us. The pricing guide sets out fees by class and subject, and our post on home tuition fees in Firozabad looks at the city in more detail.
A profile tells you who might suit; an hour of real teaching tells you who does. Sit within earshot, or ask your child afterwards, and go through these points:
Send the colony, locality, gali and house number with a map pin before the first visit, and meet the tutor at the lane corner if your home is tricky to find. Keep lessons in a shared room while an adult is at home. Our demo class checklist for parents has more to look for.
Any month works; the tutor's emphasis is what changes. Taking April, when CBSE schools open the new session, as the starting point:
UP Board families should go by the board's own calendar and notices on its website, which need not follow CBSE's. April gives the most room to work; a later start still helps, with more weight on past papers and exam technique.
Three moves. Send us the class, board, medium and subjects, your colony, locality and a landmark, and the free hour after school. Look through the two or three tutors we suggest, fees included, and book the free demo with one of them. Then decide once that lesson is over. If you prefer to browse first, open your locality from the list on this page, read tutor profiles, or book a free demo class straight away. Where no home tutor lives close enough yet, an online tutor can begin without a wait.
For advice zone by zone, our Firozabad home tuition guide walks through all five, from Kakrau and Tapa Kalan in the north to Gazipur in the south and Asafabad on the eastern corner.
Elsewhere in Uttar Pradesh, we also cover Agra, Aligarh, Lucknow and Kanpur; the full list is on our cities page.
