Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Between Class 6 and Class 10, science changes from a subject of activities and observations into three subjects with their own diagrams, equations and numericals. Most of the trouble families see in Class 10 started quietly two or three years earlier: a definition learnt by rote, a ray diagram drawn freehand, a numerical without units. In Firozabad the board also shapes the help a child needs. A UP Board student writes the High School science paper in Hindi, a CBSE pupil writes in English, and an ICSE child faces three separate science papers. NXTutors sends two or three science tutors who know your child's board and can reach your locality, with every fee shown first, and the opening class is a free demo.
Aaditya Kashyap is the author of the CBSE and ICSE advice on this page; the UP Board sections use only what the board publishes on upmsp.edu.in. The tutor's job shifts from year to year, and each stage has one check a parent can make at home:
| Class | What the tutor works on | A check for parents |
|---|---|---|
| 6 and 7 | Each activity in the book (NCERT's Curiosity for CBSE, the school's own text elsewhere) written up as a clear sentence with a small labelled sketch | Does my child use the science word, or a loose everyday one? |
| 8 | Physics, chemistry and biology kept apart; first word equations and short numericals | Is the unit written after every answer? |
| 9 | The steepest year: motion, matter and the cell arrive together | Is each weak chapter mended within a month? |
| 10 | Every chapter practised the way the board sets and marks it | Has my child written one full section against the clock? |
Up to Class 10, a single tutor for all three sciences usually does better than three separate ones, because one person can see whether a wrong physics answer came from the maths or the idea. Read how we match on the national science home tutor page, and see the Class 9 science tutor page for the year that catches many children out.
On the UP Board, Class 10 science is out of 100: the High School written paper carries 70 marks and practical work 30, under the 2026-27 syllabus. The two are passed separately, with 23 needed on paper and 10 in practicals. The 70 written marks are spread over five units:
| Unit | Marks | Where to begin |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical substances | 20 | Equations balanced on paper and compounds named in the textbook's own terms |
| World of living | 20 | Large labelled diagrams and each life process told in the right order |
| Effects of current | 13 | Circuit symbols, then short sums on resistance and power |
| Natural phenomena | 12 | Mirror, lens and eye diagrams drawn with a ruler and sharp pencil |
| Natural resources | 5 | A short list of definitions, said aloud once a week |
Forty of the 70 marks sit in the chemistry and biology units. That is good news for a child who dreads physics: strength in those two carries the paper, and steady work on circuits and light looks after the remaining 25. The board's website also carries model papers and a question bank for High School, and these are the practice papers to use. Our UP Board tutors in Firozabad page covers Hindi, English, social science and the rest.
Look at the board's own Class 10 science model paper. It is printed in Hindi, allows a short reading time, and then runs for three hours. Its first part, Section A, is objective: one mark a question, shaded on an OMR sheet. Its second part, Section B, is written out in full. Each part has three sub-sections, and the paper asks that a Section B sub-section be answered in one stretch, beginning on a new page.
Home practice can mirror that. Solve every objective item in rough before shading, because the sheet forgives nothing. Give one sitting to one Section B sub-section, so that related chapters get revised together. A child in a Hindi-medium school should write the Hindi technical words from the textbook, whatever language the tutor used to explain.
The CBSE paper counts for 80. Another 20 come from school, in four equal shares: periodic tests, multiple assessment, a portfolio, and subject enrichment through practicals. The 80 sit in five units of very different size. Chemical Substances and the World of Living are the two big ones at 25 marks each, so equations, acids, metals, carbon compounds, life processes, reproduction and heredity deserve the most weeks. Effects of Current (13) and Natural Phenomena (12) come next and carry most of the numericals and ray diagrams. Our Environment, at 5, is quick to learn and silly to skip.
By the kind of thinking asked, the split is 50% recall and understanding, 30% application and 20% analysis or evaluation. CBSE's 2026-27 sample paper holds 39 questions: a first block of twenty single-mark items (options plus assertion–reason), then six questions for two marks, seven for three, three case- or source-based items for four, and three long answers for five. This session the school alone tests evolution, the periodic table's arrangement of elements, and electromagnetic induction along with the generator and motor. There is also a list of 14 experiments that board questions draw on, so keep the practical file up to date.
The main exam is compulsory. After it, eligible students may sit an optional second attempt in as many as three subjects, science among them; cbse.gov.in alone gives the dates. See our CBSE Class 10 science notes, the board-year planner and the Class 10 science tutor page.
UP Board Class 9 science is marked like Class 10, 70 written and 30 practical. Its heaviest unit is motion, force and work at 25. Matter is worth 20, the organisation of the living world another 20, and food production 5. In CBSE, Class 9 now uses NCERT's newer Exploration book for 2026-27, again 80 on paper and 20 internal, split as matter 27, the living world 25, motion with force, work and sound 23, and the Earth as a system 5.
Two warnings hold for both boards. Hand-me-down notes from an elder sibling may belong to an older book, so compare chapter lists before using them. And motion in Class 9 is the first place physics turns into graphs and equations; get it right before the half-yearly exam and Class 10 becomes far easier.
ICSE splits Class 10 science into Physics, Chemistry and Biology, three CISCE papers with internal marks for each. Each school picks its own textbooks within the council's syllabus, so a tutor should teach from your child's books and practise from CISCE specimen questions, not from an NCERT scheme. Marks go to precise definitions and to numericals carried through to the final unit. Teachers who know these three papers well are fewer in the city, so say "ICSE" in your first message; adding online tutors to the search helps.
For a child in Classes 6 to 10, the science lesson usually falls between school and dinner, so the tutor's trip needs to be easy to repeat. Here is what to arrange in six localities on the north and west side and in the centre. All Firozabad localities are on our Firozabad page.
Sarswati Nagar, also spelt Saraswati Nagar, has colony lanes that look much alike, so send a phone map pin and keep the same two or three days through exam months. In Tapa Kalan, shown on some sites as Tapa Kala, give the colony name inside the locality, the house number and a well-known shop or crossing; weekend mornings suit revision before school tests. Dakhal addresses often carry a smaller colony name, so write that first, then Dakhal, and say whether you are nearer Jalesar Road or Kotla Road.
Mahaveer Nagar, also written Mahavir Nagar, has homes on the highway and in the lanes behind it; if you are on the highway side, ask the tutor to call from the nearest crossing. Suhag Nagar is spread out along the old highway towards Agra, so the nearest tutor may live in Mahaveer Nagar or Rahna; say where to turn in. In Gandhi Nagar, near the city centre, give the gali and house number and choose an early slot, since the central lanes fill up in the evening.
For more on the north side, read the Jalesar Road and Kotla Road zone page; the Firozabad home tuition guide walks through every part of the city.
Whoever marks the paper, these are the places where a careful student gains and a rushed one loses. Ask the tutor to come back to them every few weeks:
The free demo is a good time to see these habits. Bring out the class notebook, ask for the chapter school is on now, and notice two things: whether your child does most of the talking early on, and whether a labelled diagram is on paper before the hour ends. More pointers are in the demo class checklist. A poor fit simply means the next shortlisted tutor gives a demo, and a later switch is free as well.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own rate, and you see it before the demo. In these middle-school years, a fair comparison asks each tutor how much time goes to fresh chapters against going back over old ones, and whether a weekly lesson could be online. Our Firozabad home tuition fees guide lists more questions.
Send the class, the board, the strand that is slipping (physics, chemistry or biology), the language your child writes the exam in, your locality and a landmark, and which afternoons are open. You get a shortlist of two or three science tutors, fee beside each name, and you choose who gives the free demo. When nobody nearby can manage those afternoons, we will say so and set up online or part-online lessons. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works).
Senior students can move on to our Firozabad physics, chemistry and biology pages, and families nearby can compare science tutors in Agra. Science teachers living in Firozabad can see families near them on the Firozabad tuition jobs page; joining is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each science tutor in Firozabad sets their own fee, which you see before the free demo, so you can ask how the year will be split between new chapters and revision.
Tell NXTutors the class, the board, the strand that worries you, the language of the exam and your locality with a landmark. We send two or three science tutors with their fees, and you pick one for a free demo. If nobody nearby can come at your time, we suggest online or part-online lessons.
UP Board High School science is out of 100, with 70 for the written paper and 30 for practical work under the 2026-27 syllabus. A pass needs 23 and 10 separately. Chemical substances and the world of living carry 20 each, effects of current 13, natural phenomena 12 and natural resources 5.
The model paper gives a reading period and three hours, is set in Hindi, and has two sections of three sub-sections each. Section A is one-mark objective questions on an OMR sheet; Section B is written answers, with each sub-section answered together starting on a new page. Home practice can copy that layout.
Three topics are assessed only in school in 2026-27: evolution, the periodic arrangement of elements, and electromagnetic induction with the generator and motor. They still matter in Class 11, so learn them properly, but spend board revision elsewhere. Board questions also draw on 14 listed experiments, which makes the practical file useful revision.
Usually yes, one tutor for physics, chemistry and biology works well up to Class 10. The same person can see whether a wrong physics answer came from the maths or the idea, and can balance time between strands. Separate subject tutors make more sense from Class 11, when each science becomes its own paper.
ICSE science is three separate CISCE papers, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each with its own internal marks, while the UP Board sets one science paper of 70 plus 30 practical. ICSE schools choose their own textbooks within the syllabus, so tuition should follow those books and the council's specimen papers rather than an NCERT plan.
Send the colony name first and then the locality, because many north-side addresses carry both. In Dakhal, also say whether you are nearer Jalesar Road or Kotla Road; in Tapa Kalan, sometimes written Tapa Kala, add the house number and a well-known shop or crossing. Weekend mornings suit revision before school tests.
Ray diagrams for mirrors and lenses, circuit diagrams with standard symbols, and labelled drawings of the heart, nephron and digestive system matter most. Arrowheads on every ray, an ammeter in series and a voltmeter across the part, and correct label spellings all save marks. Balanced equations and step-by-step genetic crosses belong on the same list.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
