Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In most Firozabad homes the maths question is not whether a child needs help but what kind. A UP Board Class 10 student writes a High School paper printed in Hindi that opens with an OMR block. A cousin in a CBSE school writes the same chapters in English under another marking scheme, and a senior student may be adding an engineering entrance to the board year. So tell NXTutors four things: the class, the board, the medium of the answer sheet and your locality. Our shortlist names two or three maths tutors matched on all four, with each fee shown before anyone visits, and the first lesson with the tutor you choose is a free demo.
The exam notes on this page have two authors. Ajay Vatsyayan wrote the ISC, IB and IGCSE parts, and Abhinandan Tiwary wrote the Class 10 CBSE and ICSE parts. The UP Board material is drawn only from the syllabus files and model papers that the board publishes on upmsp.edu.in. Find your child's row below; the last column gives you a question worth putting to any tutor on the first call.
| Course | Set by | How the marks are made up | Ask the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| High School (Class 10) | UPMSP, the UP Board | Written paper 70; school assessment with project work 30 | Which units would you start with, and why? |
| Intermediate (Classes 11 and 12) | UPMSP | A 100-mark written paper each year, nothing from school | How will you prepare my child for the eight-mark answers? |
| Class 10 Standard or Basic, and Class 12 | CBSE | 80 on the board paper, 20 assessed in school | Which level should my child take in Class 10? |
| ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) | CISCE | 80 written; 20 internal or project | Is your syllabus for my child's exam year? |
| IB Diploma; Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | IB: papers plus an exploration. IGCSE: Core or Extended entry | When did you last teach this exact course? |
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad was set up at Prayagraj in 1921 and held its first examination in 1923. It runs the High School examination after Class 10 and the Intermediate examination after Class 12. In its 2026-27 Class 10 maths syllabus, 70 marks belong to the written paper and 30 to assessment in school, which includes project work. The two parts are passed separately, with 23 needed in the paper and 10 in school marks. The seven units:
| Unit | Written marks | What each home lesson should build |
|---|---|---|
| Algebra | 18 | Turning a sentence into an equation: name the unknown in words first, then write the symbols |
| Trigonometry | 12 | A neat figure before any ratio; for heights and distances the syllabus keeps to 30°, 45° and 60° and at most two right triangles |
| Geometry | 10 | Theorem statements learnt word for word, and a reason written beside every step |
| Mensuration | 10 | Units carried through every line, so a combined solid does not lose its last mark |
| Statistics and probability | 10 | A ruled table for grouped data, checked column by column before the mean or median |
| Number systems | 5 | Short proofs and HCF–LCM questions finished in full, never left half-done |
| Coordinate geometry | 5 | Formula written out, values substituted, answer simplified, in that order |
Algebra and trigonometry together make up 30 of the 70, so a month lost there is felt on the result. Yet the smaller units are where careless children drop easy marks. Class 9 uses the same 70-plus-30 split without the pressure of a certificate, so it is the calm year to mend old gaps in fractions, negative numbers and early algebra before High School begins. For the other High School subjects, see our UP Board tutors in Firozabad page.
The board's Class 10 maths model paper opens with a reading period. Section A follows: twenty multiple-choice questions of one mark each, answered by filling circles on an OMR sheet. The instructions forbid cutting, an eraser or whitener, so a wrong circle stays wrong. Section B carries the other 50 marks in five questions, and each one says how many of its parts the student must answer.
Each half needs its own practice. For Section A, work every question in rough before shading, and run a timed block of twenty each fortnight with every wrong choice discussed. For Section B, the skill is choosing which parts to attempt and writing them in full. Practise from the model papers and question bank on the board's website rather than a guidebook written for another board.
From Class 11 there is no school share at all. Each year ends with a single written paper out of 100, so the plan has to follow the unit weights.
In the Class 12 model paper, every one of the nine questions is compulsory, and each says how many of its parts count. The parts climb from one-mark multiple-choice items to answers worth eight marks, and those long answers reward a student who writes every step. Ask the tutor to set one full long answer each week and mark it against the model paper's layout. Changes to the scheme and all exam dates come only from upmsp.edu.in, so check there before the session begins.
Explain in whatever language your child follows; write in the language of the answer sheet. Many UP Board schools here teach in Hindi and the board's model maths papers are set in Hindi, while CBSE and ICSE students mostly answer in English. A child who speaks Brajbhasha at home may still need the textbook's formal Hindi terms spelt out once.
The hard moment is a change of medium at Class 9 or 11, when samikaran becomes "equation" just as the chapter itself turns new. A two-column term list at the back of the notebook, read aloud briefly each lesson, and every written solution in the new language from week one, close the gap.
For 2026-27 CBSE keeps the Class 10 paper design it used last session. Of the 80 board marks, algebra carries 20 and geometry 15. Trigonometry takes 12, statistics with probability 11 and mensuration 10, while real numbers and coordinate geometry bring 6 apiece. The paper starts with twenty one-mark items (multiple-choice, plus a pair of assertion–reason questions), moves through two-, three- and five-mark answers, and closes with three four-mark case studies. Calculators stay out of the hall; π means 22/7 unless told otherwise.
The Standard or Basic choice is about depth, not chapters. Around three-quarters of Basic marks reward recall and understanding; in Standard the figure is nearer 54%, so more application is asked. Keep Standard if maths in Class 11 is possible at all. A second, optional Class 10 sitting now lets students try to raise up to three subjects, maths included, on dates posted only at cbse.gov.in. Help is in the CBSE Class 10 maths preparation post, the board-year plan and the Class 10 maths tutor page.
In Class 12, CBSE asks 38 questions, none optional, for 80 marks, and 35 of those marks sit in calculus. A student also aiming at JEE Main met 25 maths questions in the 2026 Paper 1: five wanted a number typed in, twenty offered options, and each right answer earned four marks while each wrong one cost a mark. Check the current pattern on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Fewer Firozabad teachers work with these courses than with UP Board or CBSE students, so name the course in your first message. Where nobody suitable is close by, an online specialist can take the syllabus while a tutor from your side of the city marks practice in between.
These six run from the Jalesar Road side in the north, through the Agra Road side, to the centre. Many homes here are found by a lane, crossing or colony name rather than a street. Compare tutors in every locality on our Firozabad page.
| Locality | How homes are found | Send in advance |
|---|---|---|
| Vibhav Nagar | North side, beside Sarswati Nagar near the start of Jalesar Road; property sites also write Vibhab Nagar | The lane or gali number, plus a shop or crossing on Jalesar Road that is easy to spot |
| Dakhal | Between the roads to Jalesar and Kotla; many addresses carry a smaller colony name as well | The colony name first, then Dakhal, and whether you are nearer Jalesar Road or Kotla Road |
| Kakrau | The far north-west, where the city road along the canal begins; some parts still feel like a village edge | A phone map pin, which side of the canal road you are on, and a daylight slot in winter |
| Suhag Nagar | A large area on the west side along the old highway towards Agra, with homes on the main road and lanes behind | The lane behind the highway, the house number, and the crossing where the tutor should turn in |
| Rahna | North-west, near Nagla Bhao; an older village core with newer homes around it, also written Rehna | A map pin and a well-known shop or crossing; on the first day, someone waiting at the lane corner |
| Gandhi Nagar | Close to the city centre's main crossings, with family houses on busy, close-set lanes | Gali and house number, where a two-wheeler can stand, and an early slot before the lanes fill up |
The zone pages for Jalesar Road and Kotla Road, Suhag Nagar and Agra Road and Gandhi Nagar and City Centre add local tips, and the Firozabad home tuition guide covers the south and east of the city too.
Skip the polished sample lesson. Put this week's school chapter and the latest marked test on the table, and let the tutor work from those. Four signs are worth noting:
Not the right person? Tell us, and another tutor from the shortlist gives a demo; a switch later in the year costs nothing either. Our demo class checklist for parents has more to ask.
Sitting beside the child, a tutor catches a wrong step while the pencil is still moving. That is worth most in the primary years, in geometry, and for a child changing medium. Lessons on screen make sense for an ISC or IB specialist living elsewhere, for a crowded board year, and for the city's outer edges, where fewer tutors live nearby. A common pattern is one visit plus one online lesson each week; see the home tutor or online tutor article and our online tutors for Firozabad page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Fees are fixed by the tutors themselves and appear on your shortlist ahead of the demo. Beyond the rate, ask how many lessons a week each tutor advises, whether homework is marked between visits, and whether exam weeks can switch to online. The Firozabad home tuition fees guide lists more.
A short message is enough if it covers the class, the course by name (High School or Intermediate on the UP Board, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB, IGCSE), the medium of the answer sheet, your locality with a landmark, and the free hours after school. Two or three maths tutors come back with their fees, and you choose who takes the free demo. When nobody nearby can manage your hour, we tell you plainly and offer online or mixed lessons. Every tutor who joins goes through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works).
Our team is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons reach every city. Matching in general is explained on the national maths home tutor page; nearby, compare maths tutors in Agra and Aligarh. Within Firozabad, open the physics and science pages. If you teach maths and live here, the Firozabad tuition jobs page lists families near you; joining is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every Firozabad maths tutor sets their own rate, and it appears on your shortlist before the free demo, so you can compare the number of weekly lessons and any online option first.
Send us the class, the exact course, the language of the answer sheet, your locality with a landmark and the free hours after school. We reply with two or three maths tutors and their fees. You choose one for a free demo, and switching tutor later costs nothing. If no nearby tutor can come at your hour, we suggest online or mixed lessons.
Algebra carries 18 of the 70 written marks and trigonometry 12, according to the UP Board 2026-27 syllabus. Geometry, mensuration, and statistics with probability carry 10 each; number systems and coordinate geometry carry 5 each. School assessment with project work adds 30, and a pass needs 23 in the paper and 10 from school.
Practise solving each question in rough work before shading a circle, since the OMR sheet cannot be corrected. Section A of the Class 10 model paper is twenty one-mark multiple-choice questions, and the sheet allows no cutting, eraser or whitener. A tutor can run a timed block of twenty every fortnight and talk through each wrong choice afterwards.
Each year ends with one 100-mark written paper and no school share. In Class 12, calculus carries 44 marks, vectors and 3D geometry 18, and algebra 15. All nine questions in the Class 12 model paper are compulsory, with parts from one mark up to eight, so full written long answers deserve weekly practice.
Yes, explanation can be in Hindi while all written practice stays in English, the language of the answer sheet. UP Board model maths papers are set in Hindi, and CBSE or ICSE students usually answer in English. For a child changing medium, a two-column term list read aloud each lesson closes the gap within a term.
Yes, Class 9 is the calm year to repair old gaps before the High School certificate year. UP Board Class 9 maths already uses the 70 written plus 30 internal split, so a tutor can test fractions, negative numbers and early algebra, then plan each repair before school reaches the chapter that depends on it.
Share a phone map pin and the nearest well-known shop or crossing, because homes on the north-west edge are often found by landmark. In Kakrau, say which side of the canal road you live on; in Rahna, also written Rehna, wait at the lane corner the first time. Daylight slots are easier in winter.
Yes, but mention the course in your first message, because fewer local teachers work with ISC, IB or IGCSE maths than with UP Board or CBSE. If nobody suitable can visit, an online specialist can teach the syllabus while a nearby tutor marks written practice. ISC from 2027 has one 80-mark paper and two projects worth 20.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
