What home tuition costs in Firozabad

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE and ISC home tutors in Firozabad: answers written in full English, internal work on schedule, electives picked early

Many ICSE children in Firozabad speak Hindi at home and write every exam answer in English. That is the heart of the CISCE challenge here. The council asks for long, well-built answers in almost every subject, sets three separate science papers in Class 10, and makes practicals and projects compulsory once ISC begins. Specialist ISC tutors are also fewer than general tutors, so families need a plan for finding them. This page explains how the CISCE route works, where tuition makes the most difference, how tutors reach your part of the city, and what to check in the free demo. Abhinandan Tiwary, who teaches Class 10 maths on CBSE and ICSE, wrote the ICSE maths notes; Aaditya Kashyap, who teaches science on both boards, the science notes; and Ajay Vatsyayan, who teaches IB, IGCSE and ISC maths, the ISC maths section.

Where the CISCE route fits in Firozabad

Firozabad families follow the UP Board, CBSE and the CISCE's ICSE and ISC, in Hindi or English medium; we do not publish shares because we have no reliable figures. The contrast that matters for tuition is with the state board. The UP Board publishes its syllabus files in Hindi and examines at High School and Intermediate. The CISCE teaches from its own prescribed texts, expects long English answers, and after each exam season releases an Analysis of Pupil Performance that shows, question by question, how candidates went wrong. Before a tutor from the state-board side takes on an ICSE child, ask them to mark one answer the council's way.

The three ICSE subject groups

How the council arranges Class 10 subjects (ICSE Regulations 2027)
GroupSubjectsPaper : internal
Group I, taken by allEnglish; a second language; History, Civics and Geography80 : 20
Group II, two or three chosenOptions include Mathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, Environmental Science and modern foreign or classical languages80 : 20
Group III, one chosenAn applied subject such as Computer Applications, Economic or Commercial Applications, Art or Physical Education50 : 50

Group III is worth noticing: half its marks are earned through the year. A child who keeps that project work moving month by month collects marks that are hard to lose. If Hindi is the second language, the family's own fluency helps, but the council still expects grammar and composition to its own standard.

One maths paper, three science papers

ICSE Mathematics is a single 80-mark paper plus 20 internal marks, earned through two or more assignments that both the subject teacher and an external examiner mark. The course runs from commercial arithmetic, including banking and shares, through algebra, trigonometry, geometry and statistics. Examiners look for the working at each stage, so a correct last line with steps missing still loses marks; the maths notes here stress written steps above speed.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three separate 80-mark papers, each with 20 marks of internal practical work. Strength in one does not carry the others. The science notes suggest asking early whether one tutor can take all three properly or whether the weakest needs a specialist. Specimen papers and the subject-wise Analysis of Pupil Performance together show the standard expected.

Long answers in English, for a child who thinks in Hindi

Many children who understand a science idea perfectly in Hindi lose marks when they write it in English: half sentences, missing linking words, a definition with one key term absent. A tutor can fix this with a weekly routine:

  1. Explain, then write. The child explains the idea aloud in whichever language is easier, then writes the answer in English.
  2. Key terms list. For each chapter, the exact English terms the council's answers use, learnt and tested.
  3. One long answer marked line by line. Every session ends with one answer checked for structure, terms and complete sentences.
  4. Rewrite. The child rewrites the marked answer once. The second version is where the learning shows.

This works across History, Civics and Geography as much as in science, and it is a good reason to start ICSE tuition in Class 9 rather than Class 10.

Keeping internal work on schedule

Internal marks are spread across subjects: maths assignments, science practicals, and half of the Group III subject. They are easy marks only when they are done on time. Ask the tutor to keep a single dated list of every assignment, practical record and project, checked at the start of each month. Revision should also run in rounds: every few weeks, one lesson returns to an earlier chapter of each paper, because Class 9 topics return in the Class 10 papers. Timed writing should start in Class 9, since speed in long answers builds slowly.

ISC in Classes 11 and 12: rules to know before choosing

  • How many subjects: English is compulsory, plus three to five electives, with no more than six subjects in all.
  • Choices lock early: after a date set in the Class 11 registration year, subjects cannot be changed, and a Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11.
  • Promotion to Class 12: at least 35% in four subjects, one of which must be English, with attendance of 75% or more.
  • Practicals: compulsory wherever a subject has them; Physics cannot be paired with Engineering Science.
  • The certificate: grades run from 1 to 9; passing takes four subjects with English, along with Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service.

In ISC Mathematics, each of the two years has a theory paper worth 80 and a project worth 20. The ISC maths section of this page comes down to two points: start the project early, and practise the long proofs and applications on paper every week. For more, read our ISC maths tutor page and the guide to ICSE and ISC maths.

ISC science beside JEE or NEET

The entrance syllabuses build on NCERT content, while ISC follows its own texts and order, so the same topic can reach a student months apart in school and in entrance practice. In the first weeks of Class 11, ask the tutor for a single page lining up ISC chapters against their NCERT twins, with the month each is taught at school and in entrance practice. The tutor then brings in NCERT phrasing and fast objective questions wherever ISC goes lightly, and keeps long answers and practicals on track where entrance work does not look. How ICSE tutors reach six Firozabad localities

  • Nai Basti: just south of the centre, within reach of tutors from Gandhi Nagar, Arya Nagar and the south side; name a landmark visible from the main road.
  • Tilak Nagar: between the centre and the railway line; give the lane and a nearby crossing, and pick a slot that ends before dinner.
  • Gazipur: on the southern outskirts, where fewer tutors live; a nearby tutor for the main subjects plus an online ISC elective is a common pairing.
  • Asafabad: at the south-east corner, also written Asfabad; short, focused lessons suit children with long school days.
  • Madina Colony: on the east side; block or gali and house number first, and say if you would like a female tutor.
  • Jagdamba Nagar: to the north-east; with siblings at different stages, ask whether one tutor can teach both back to back.

Zone pages: Gandhi Nagar and City Centre, Tilak Nagar and Rasulpur and Asafabad and Madina Colony. All localities are on the Firozabad home tutors page, and the Firozabad home tuition guide has more local advice.

After Class 10: ISC, CBSE or UP Board Intermediate

Three routes open after ICSE. ISC continues the council's way of writing answers and adds depth in each elective, with heavier practical and project loads. CBSE switches the student to NCERT texts and CBSE sample papers; the subject knowledge transfers, though answers turn shorter and follow the textbook more closely. UP Board Intermediate means the board's own Hindi syllabus files, model papers on its website, and a Hindi paper to plan for: General Hindi in Class 12 is a single 100-mark paper with 33 needed to pass and no internal marks. Read the current files on upmsp.edu.in and our UP Board tutors in Firozabad page before deciding. In every case, the gap after the Class 10 papers is the time to start reading the first chapters of the next course.

At home or online for ICSE and ISC?

For Classes 6 to 10, a tutor at the table helps most with long written answers and maths working. Specialists in ISC electives are thin on the ground in most cities, so a common plan is a nearby tutor for maths and science and an online one for a single elective or for English literature. See online tuition in Firozabad for how that is arranged.

Testing a tutor against the council's standard

  1. Bring a long answer your child wrote. Does the tutor mark it line by line, for terms and structure, not just facts?
  2. Ask which specimen papers and Analysis of Pupil Performance reports they use.
  3. Ask how they will track internal assignments and practicals.
  4. For ISC, ask what they know about the elective rules and the project.
  5. Check that they explain in a language your child follows easily, while insisting on English answers.

ICSE Home Tutor in Firozabad (ICSE & ISC, Classes 6–12): common questions

What do ICSE and ISC home tutors in Firozabad charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each ICSE or ISC tutor in Firozabad sets their own fee, which you see before the free demo. Ask how many lessons a week they suggest before comparing quotes.

How does a Firozabad family request an ICSE or ISC tutor?

A Firozabad family requests an ICSE or ISC tutor by sending the class, the subjects or electives, the locality with a landmark and free times. We send two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

How can a tutor help an ICSE child who thinks in Hindi but writes in English?

A tutor helps by letting the child explain the idea aloud first, in whichever language is easier, and then write it in English. Each chapter gets a list of exact English terms. Every lesson ends with one long answer marked line by line, which the child then rewrites once.

How should a Firozabad ICSE child handle the Group III subject?

A Firozabad ICSE child should work on the Group III subject all year, because half its marks, 50 out of 100, come from internal work. Subjects such as Computer Applications or Art reward steady project work done month by month. Leaving it to the end of Class 10 throws away marks that were easy to earn.

Are the three ICSE science subjects examined separately?

Yes, ICSE Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three separate 80-mark papers, each with 20 marks of internal practical work. Strength in one does not help the others. Ask early whether one tutor can teach all three well or whether the weakest needs its own specialist.

Can an ISC student change subjects after starting Class 11?

An ISC student can change subjects only until a date set in the Class 11 registration year, and a Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11. ISC needs English plus three to five electives, up to six subjects, so choose carefully before the deadline.

What are the ISC promotion rules a Firozabad Class 11 student must meet?

To be promoted from ISC Class 11 to Class 12, a Firozabad student needs 35% in four subjects, one of them English, and 75% attendance. Practicals are compulsory wherever a subject has them. A tutor should keep weak subjects above that line from the first term.

Should a Firozabad student stay with ISC after Class 10 or move board?

A Firozabad student finishing ICSE can stay with ISC, move to CBSE or join UP Board Intermediate. ISC keeps the council's answer style, CBSE switches to NCERT books, and the UP Board brings Hindi syllabus files and a 100-mark General Hindi paper in Class 12. Read the current documents before choosing.

Can ICSE tutors reach Gazipur, Asafabad or Jagdamba Nagar?

ICSE tutors can reach Gazipur, Asafabad and Jagdamba Nagar, though fewer live on the southern edge near Gazipur. Many families there pair a nearby tutor for the main subjects with an online ISC elective. Share a map pin, a landmark and the gali or block number.

How should parents judge an ICSE tutor during the demo?

Parents should bring a long answer the child wrote and watch whether the tutor marks it line by line for terms and structure. Ask which specimen papers and Analysis of Pupil Performance reports they use, and how they track internal assignments and practicals across the year.
