Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
| Classes a week | Classes a month | At ₹800 an hour | At ₹2,500 an hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 8 | ₹6,400 a month | ₹20,000 a month |
| 3 | 12 | ₹9,600 a month | ₹30,000 a month |
In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Outside the walls of the old city, Jaipur grew as a string of planned colonies, each with its own logic. C-Scheme became the business district, Vidhyadhar Nagar was drawn as a satellite town on the old city's three-by-three grid, Mansarovar was laid out by the Jaipur Development Authority on a scale once called the largest in Asia, and Pratap Nagar rose in Rajasthan Housing Board sectors beside Tonk Road. Three highways fan out from the centre, towards Sikar, Ajmer and Tonk, and a single metro line, the Pink Line, runs east from Mansarovar to the old city. Where your home sits on that map decides which tutors can reach it, and when.
Start with a single request. Tell us the class and board (for the state board, add the medium), the subjects, your colony with its sector or scheme, the days and hours that are free, and whether you want lessons at home, online or both, along with a budget. We come back with two or three tutors who fit that request. Each one shows a fee before anything is booked, and the first lesson with the tutor you choose is a free demo. For Jaipur, four questions do most of the sorting:
The demo is a proper lesson on whatever the class is covering that week. If the fit is wrong, we arrange the next tutor on the list, and changing tutor later on costs nothing.
The Jaipur tutor list on this page draws on 1 tutor profile, and 27 Jaipur localities have a page of their own. On each one, tutors from that locality come first, then tutors from the rest of its zone, then those who teach online. To plan home lessons we split the city into five zones, starting in the north and moving south: C-Scheme, Bani Park and Vidhyadhar Nagar, Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar and Bapu Nagar, Vaishali Nagar and West Jaipur, Mansarovar and Sanganer and Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura and Tonk Road. These groupings are our own, drawn for travel, and do not follow ward or municipal lines.
C-Scheme is the city's main business district, where offices and hotels stand close to three- and four-bedroom apartment buildings and older bungalows on tree-lined streets, with Statue Circle as the landmark everyone knows. Civil Lines is greener still, with large government bungalows on wide avenues and private homes around them. Bani Park, one of the older residential areas, sits near the main railway station and the Sindhi Camp bus stand and is mostly independent houses, while Shastri Nagar next door mixes houses with apartment buildings. Vidhyadhar Nagar was planned as a satellite town on the pattern of the walled city's grid, in numbered sectors along a central spine. Further out, Jhotwara grew around one of the city's older industrial areas, and Sikar Road, the northern approach on National Highway 52, is lined with plotted layouts, apartment projects and villa townships.
The Pink Line's elevated stations at Civil Lines, Railway Station and Sindhi Camp opened on 3 June 2015, and the underground run from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar under the old city followed on 23 September 2020. North of the station, though, there is no metro yet; the planned Orange Line lists stops at Pani Pech, Ambabari, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Harmada and Todi Mod. C-Scheme buildings usually sign visitors in, while Bani Park and Vidhyadhar Nagar houses are doorstep visits. Office-hour parking in C-Scheme is scarce, so evening or weekend-morning slots suit tutors on two wheels.
This is settled, central Jaipur, just outside the walled city. Raja Park has a busy main road of shops and eateries, with builder floors and older houses in the lanes behind. Jawahar Nagar is divided into Sectors 1 to 5, mostly independent and ground-plus-one homes on leafy streets. Adarsh Nagar blends older houses, builder floors and apartments of two to five bedrooms, and Tilak Nagar, near the Moti Doongri temple, adds a number of newer apartment projects. Bapu Nagar lies between Tonk Road and C-Scheme, with bungalows beside newer blocks, and Bajaj Nagar, close to Tonk Road and known for its markets, mixes houses and flats.
None of these localities has a metro station, so tutors arrive by scooter, car or auto, which makes a tutor from the zone itself worth waiting for. Gandhinagar Jaipur railway station, in the Bajaj Nagar area and known as a station run entirely by women, serves the south of the city, and the planned Orange Line lists stops at Rambagh Circle and Gandhinagar Station. Most homes here are doorstep visits. Raja Park's market road is packed in the evening, so families on inner lanes should share a landmark and a spot for the tutor's two-wheeler.
Vaishali Nagar is a large neighbourhood bounded by the Delhi Bypass to the west, Ajmer Road to the south and Sirsi Road to the north, and it mixes gated communities, apartment buildings, independent houses and builder floors. South of it, Chitrakoot is organised into 12 sectors, ten of them mainly residential. Nirman Nagar runs from independent houses to high-rise apartments, Shyam Nagar has parks through the colony and homes across budgets, and Sodala is a mix of flats, builder floors and houses. Ajmer Road itself, part of National Highway 48, is a six-lane corridor of colonies, industrial units and, further out, larger townships.
Here the metro helps. Mansarovar station, the Pink Line's western terminal, stands in the Padmavati Colony part of Nirman Nagar; Shyam Nagar and Vivek Vihar stations are on New Sanganer Road, and Ram Nagar station is on Hawa Sadak in Sodala, all open since 3 June 2015. Vaishali Nagar and Chitrakoot have no station, so tutors there usually come by scooter or car. Gated communities register visitors; houses do not. Ajmer Road and the 200 Feet Bypass are heavy in the evening, so build some slack into lesson times.
Mansarovar was planned by the Jaipur Development Authority, with the Rajasthan Housing Board running schemes of its own, and until 2010 it was often described as Asia's largest colony. Housing board flats, independent houses, plots, villas and apartment complexes sit along Shipra Path, Madhyam Marg and New Sanganer Road. Gopalpura Bypass is a busy road of showrooms and coaching institutes with a large student population in the colonies behind it. Pratap Nagar, one of the largest residential areas in the city, was developed largely by the Housing Board in numbered sectors on Tonk Road, and Sanganer, an old town now absorbed into the city, is home to the airport and known for hand-block printing and handmade paper.
Metro service reached Mansarovar with the Pink Line on 3 June 2015, so tutors from Shyam Nagar or Civil Lines can ride in and walk or take an auto for the last stretch. The rest of the zone relies on road and rail: Durgapura, Gandhinagar and Sanganer stations are the nearest rail links, and the planned Orange Line lists Gopalpura, Jaipur Airport, Sanganer PS, Haldighati Gate and Sitapura. On Gopalpura Bypass the coaching crowd fills the road into the early evening, so late-evening or weekend lessons are easier to reach.
Malviya Nagar is a well-known part of south Jaipur with wide roads, a popular market and homes from builder floors and apartments to villas and plotted houses; the main road to the airport runs through it. Jagatpura is a mid-segment area where apartments and gated complexes dominate, alongside plotted colonies and villa projects, with its long flyover as the landmark. Durgapura is an organised colony of houses and apartments with parks and well-laid roads. Tonk Road, part of National Highway 52, runs south past Tonk Phatak, Bajaj Nagar, Durgapura and Pratap Nagar towards Sanganer, with offices and showrooms on the road and mixed colonies on each side.
Rail rather than metro serves this belt today. Durgapura and Getor Jagatpura stations are on the North Western Railway, and Gandhinagar station is close to Tonk Road. The planned Orange Line, now under construction, follows this north-south route with stops including Gandhinagar Station, Gopalpura and Durgapura, and the foundation stone for Jaipur Metro Phase 2, a north-south corridor, was laid on 4 July 2026. Gated complexes are common in Jagatpura, so register the tutor at the gate with the tower and flat number. Crossing Tonk Road at peak hours is slow, so a tutor living on your side of it is worth asking for.
Jaipur families study under four broad systems: CBSE, the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE), CISCE's ICSE and ISC, and, in a smaller group, the IB or Cambridge IGCSE. A tutor who is excellent for one is not automatically right for another, so we match board and class together.
CBSE papers stand on the NCERT textbooks, and a growing share of each paper tests whether a student can apply an idea: case-based passages, assertion–reason pairs and questions in unfamiliar settings. Good CBSE tuition starts from the chapter, works through the board's sample papers and marking scheme, and insists on written steps, because method marks are easy to lose and easy to keep.
The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan conducts the state's secondary and senior secondary examinations for its affiliated schools. Ask for a tutor who knows the current RBSE syllabus and textbooks and who teaches comfortably in your child's medium, Hindi or English. Take the paper pattern, marking and dates only from the board's own official notices, which change from year to year.
ICSE at Class 10 and ISC at Class 12 reward full, well-organised written answers across a wide syllabus, and English includes prescribed literature. The usual difficulty is range rather than depth, so the tutor's task is to keep every chapter in circulation, set timed answers regularly and keep an eye on project and internal work.
The IB Diploma mixes final exams with internal assessment, and its Mathematics comes as Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, each at Standard or Higher Level. A tutor may discuss an Internal Assessment or Extended Essay but never write it. Cambridge IGCSE is about exam craft: command words, the right tier and past papers marked against the official scheme.
The early years are about habits: reading with understanding, quick mental sums, fractions, the first ideas of algebra and neat written work. A tutor beside the child once or twice a week, at the dining table rather than on a screen, usually suits this age well.
Class 9 is where Maths and Science first get properly harder, and Class 10 builds directly on it, so gaps left open in Class 9 resurface in the board year. A steady rhythm of chapter, test and correction, then full papers from winter, works for CBSE and RBSE alike. See our Class 10 Maths preparation plan and Class 10 Science notes.
From Class 11 each subject goes deeper, and a subject specialist usually beats a generalist. Science students tend to struggle first with Physics and Maths, commerce students with Accountancy. Many Jaipur students in these years also carry an entrance target; our Class 12 Physics strategies and Class 12 calculus and algebra guide help with the board side.
Tutors on NXTutors cover Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Computer Science, Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Hindi and Sanskrit, and many teach every subject at primary level. For the subjects Jaipur families ask about most, there are dedicated city pages: maths home tutors in Jaipur, science home tutors, physics home tutors and chemistry home tutors. Senior Chemistry is really three subjects in one, numerical Physical, reaction-based Organic and memory-heavy Inorganic, which our guide to Class 12 Organic and Inorganic Chemistry takes apart. For an RBSE student, say which medium the school teaches in when you ask, so that the tutor explains terms the way the textbook does.
Jaipur is a coaching city in its own right, and whole stretches, Gopalpura Bypass among them, fill with students heading to classes. Many families therefore do not need a tutor to replace coaching; they need one who works alongside it. A home tutor earns a place in three ways:
NTA holds JEE Main in two sessions in the first half of the year, and candidates who qualify can sit JEE Advanced. NEET UG is held once a year and Biology makes up half its marks, which is why the NCERT Biology books repay close reading. Use only the current official information bulletin for dates. Our topic plans cover JEE Maths, JEE Physics, JEE Chemistry across its three branches and NEET Biology starting from NCERT. The trade-offs in our coaching or home tutor piece for JEE were written for Gurugram but hold in Jaipur too. When coaching runs late, an online doubt session can take the place of a home visit on those days.
Younger children, and any subject where the working counts as much as the answer, such as Maths or Chemistry numericals, gain most from a tutor at the table. Online lessons open the whole country's tutors to you, which matters most for IB, IGCSE and senior specialist papers. In Jaipur, geography tilts the balance in a few ways:
Plenty of families settle on a weekly lesson at home plus a short online session for doubts, with the same tutor for both. Our comparison of home and online tutoring sets out the trade-offs.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, and three things usually shift it:
You see each shortlisted tutor's fee before the demo, and we do not suggest anyone above the budget you give us. The pricing guide breaks fees down by class and subject, and our post on home tuition fees in Jaipur looks at the local picture.
A profile earns a tutor a place on the shortlist; the demo decides whether they keep it. Watch for five things:
In a gated complex, give the guard the tutor's name, or add it to the visitor app, before the demo. In a plotted colony or housing board sector, send the sector, plot or house number, the floor and a map pin, since similar addresses repeat across schemes. Keep lessons in a shared room with an adult at home. Our demo class checklist for parents and guide to choosing a board and a stream go further.
The CBSE session begins in April; state-board schools follow the calendar RBSE and the school announce. A board year tends to fall into five parts:
Check every date against official notices. Starting in spring gives a full year to build; starting in winter still helps, with the focus shifting to papers and technique.
Send us the class, board, subjects, your colony with its sector or scheme, and the times that work. We reply with two or three matched tutors, you pick one for a free demo class, and you decide after it. Choose your locality from the list on this page, browse all tutors or book a free demo class directly. If no home tutor is close enough yet, an online tutor from anywhere in India can begin straight away.
