Home Tuition Fees in Jaipur (2026): A First-Year Money Plan
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. That band is the same whether the tutor climbs to a flat in a C-Scheme apartment building, rings the bell of a Jawahar Nagar house or signs in at a township gate on Ajmer Road. Tutors fix their own rates, so the numbers that matter are the ones on your own shortlist.
Rather than a single monthly figure, this guide follows the money through a family's first year with a tutor in Jaipur: what the request should say, how to read the fees you are shown, what a first paid month costs, whether your part of the city changes the sums, how hours should rise and fall through the school year, and when one tutor, two tutors or a home and online mix makes sense.
Step 1: what should the request say?
The quote a tutor gives depends far more on the student than on the street. A clear request puts you in the right part of the band from the start, and it lets us match two or three tutors who already teach that exact combination.
| What you tell us | Why it moves the quote |
|---|---|
| Class | Junior classes usually sit nearer the lower end; Classes 11 and 12 sit toward the upper end. |
| Board | CBSE, ICSE/ISC, IB/IGCSE or the Rajasthan board (RBSE). IB and IGCSE have their own assessment styles and sit toward the upper end. |
| Subjects | Senior physics, chemistry and maths often need a separate tutor each, and each sets their own fee. |
| Goal | Homework support, a board year, or JEE and NEET preparation, where specialist depth costs more. |
| Home or online | A home visit needs a tutor who can reach you; online widens the choice. |
| Colony or sector | Decides which tutors are nearest, not the band itself. |
On the board: families in Jaipur study under CBSE, ICSE/ISC, IB/IGCSE and the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, the state board that holds the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. Mention the board in the request, because a tutor who teaches the same board's books and question style needs less time to settle in.
Step 2: how do we read two or three fees side by side?
Every fee on your NXTutors shortlist is visible before the demo, so the comparison happens before anyone travels to your home. The hourly rate is only one line. Before the demo, note for each tutor:
- Class length: an hour and a half twice a week and one hour three times a week give the same weekly hours but a different number of trips.
- Board and class match: has the tutor taught this class under this board, or will part of the early weeks go on catching up?
- The trip: a tutor who lives in the same zone can keep a fixed weekly slot more easily than one crossing the city at peak hours.
- Format: a home tutor and an online tutor at the same rate cost the same per hour, but the online class needs a quiet corner and a steady connection.
Step 3: what will the first paid month cost?
Multiply the weekly hours by four for a four-week month, then by the hourly fee. The table uses three points inside the NXTutors band. They are planning figures, not quotes.
| Hours a week | Hours in four weeks | At ₹800 an hour | At ₹1,500 an hour | At ₹2,500 an hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | ₹3,200 | ₹6,000 | ₹10,000 |
| 2 | 8 | ₹6,400 | ₹12,000 | ₹20,000 |
| 3 | 12 | ₹9,600 | ₹18,000 | ₹30,000 |
| 4 | 16 | ₹12,800 | ₹24,000 | ₹40,000 |
| 6 | 24 | ₹19,200 | ₹36,000 | ₹60,000 |
A younger child with one subject usually starts in the first rows and the left-hand columns. A Class 12 science student with three subjects can reach the bottom rows, and the fee sentence above already warns that those classes sit toward the upper end. Specialists in JEE Advanced or IB HL may quote above the table. For the factors behind each class and board, see the NXTutors pricing guide.
Step 4: does your part of Jaipur change the sums?
Not the band. Location mostly sets the size of the shortlist: the more tutors who can get to you without trouble, the more fees there are to weigh. Jaipur has one working metro route, the Pink Line, which runs from Mansarovar along New Sanganer Road and past Civil Lines, the railway station and Sindhi Camp to Chandpole, with its underground stretch under the old city to Badi Chaupar. The Orange Line, a north-south route, is planned and under construction, so for now it does not help any trip. In the south, railway stations at Gandhinagar, Durgapura, Sanganer and Getor Jagatpura fill some of the gaps.
| Part of Jaipur | Rail and metro tutors can use today | Typical homes | Zone guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| C-Scheme, Bani Park and Vidhyadhar Nagar | Pink Line at Sindhi Camp, Railway Station and Civil Lines | Apartment buildings in C-Scheme, independent houses in Bani Park, numbered sectors in Vidhyadhar Nagar | Central and north Jaipur guide |
| Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar and Bapu Nagar | No metro station; Gandhinagar railway station near Tonk Road | Builder floors, independent houses in sectors, older bungalows | Central and north Jaipur guide |
| Vaishali Nagar and West Jaipur | Pink Line at New Aatish Market, Vivek Vihar, Shyam Nagar and Ram Nagar; none inside Vaishali Nagar | Gated communities, independent houses, builder floors | South and west Jaipur guide |
| Mansarovar and Sanganer | Pink Line from Mansarovar; Durgapura and Sanganer railway stations | Housing board flats, plots, newer apartment complexes | South and west Jaipur guide |
| Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura and Tonk Road | Gandhinagar, Durgapura and Getor Jagatpura railway stations; no metro yet | Builder floors, gated complexes in Jagatpura | South and west Jaipur guide |
Two practical points follow. A family living close to a Pink Line station, such as Mansarovar or Shyam Nagar, can draw tutors from further along the line. A home away from the metro, such as Raja Park or Jagatpura, does better with a tutor from the same zone and a slot outside the evening rush on Tonk Road, Ajmer Road or the main road to the airport.
Step 5: how should hours change through the school year?
A budget that stays flat for twelve months usually pays for hours nobody needs in one term and runs short in another. A simple rhythm for a Jaipur family:
- April to the summer break: for CBSE and CISCE schools the new session starts in April. Two hours a week per weak subject is often enough to set the foundations for the year.
- Before the half-yearly exams: add an hour a week for a few weeks if a unit test shows a gap, then drop back.
- Winter and the pre-boards: for Class 10 and Class 12, this is where the extra hours earn their place. Plan the increase in advance so it does not come as a surprise.
- After the exams: pause, or keep one class a week to prepare for the next class.
Step 6: one tutor, two tutors or a mix?
In the junior and middle classes, one tutor for maths and science is common and keeps the number of trips down. From Class 11, physics, chemistry and maths often need separate tutors, each with their own fee. A mix can stretch the budget: book the home visit for whichever subject your child finds hardest to follow on paper, and move a second subject, or an IB or IGCSE specialist, to a screen. Our guide to choosing between a home and an online tutor covers which subjects suit each.
What should we agree before the first paid class?
- What happens when either side cancels a class.
- The rate for any extra classes added in the pre-board weeks.
- When fees are paid: at the start of each month, or once the month's classes are done.
- How progress will be checked, for example against the next unit test.
How NXTutors can help
Share your colony or sector with the class, board and subject, and NXTutors matches two or three tutors: home tutors where they live within reach, and online tutors from anywhere in India. Fees are shown before the demo, that first class is free, and a later change of tutor costs nothing. Browse maths home tutors in Jaipur, science, physics or chemistry, or see every area on home tutors across Jaipur.
The checklist for the demo class lists what to watch in that first session. Tutors based in the city can find tuition jobs in Jaipur.
Frequently asked questions
What is the hourly fee for a home tutor in Jaipur?
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors fix their own rates, and yours appear on the shortlist before the free demo.
How do we estimate a monthly tuition budget?
Multiply the weekly hours by four, then by the hourly fee. Two hours a week is eight hours in a four-week month: ₹6,400 at ₹800 an hour and ₹20,000 at ₹2,500 an hour. Add each subject separately, and plan extra hours for the pre-board months in Class 10 and Class 12.
Is home tuition dearer in C-Scheme than in Mansarovar or Jagatpura?
No. One band covers the whole city, and the student's class, board and subjects, together with the tutor's experience, do most of the work in setting a fee. What your area changes is the number of tutors within easy reach, so a well-connected home simply sees more fees side by side.
Do RBSE students pay less than CBSE or ICSE students?
Not as a rule. The board is one factor, but the class, the subject and the goal matter more, and every tutor names their own rate. What does matter is choosing a tutor who already teaches your board's books, so fewer paid hours go on settling in during the first weeks.
Does living near a Pink Line station help?
It can widen the shortlist. A tutor riding the Pink Line can reach homes near stations such as Mansarovar, Shyam Nagar, Civil Lines or Sindhi Camp from further along the line. It does not lower the fee itself, but more tutors within reach means more fees to compare before the free demo.
