Home Tuition in Central and North Jaipur: An Area-by-Area Guide

By NXTutors Academic Team 8 min read

Central and north Jaipur holds some of the city's oldest planned neighbourhoods outside the walled city, and the way a home tutor reaches a family changes sharply from one colony to the next. In C-Scheme the visit often starts at a building register; in Bani Park, Jawahar Nagar or Raja Park it usually starts at the front door of an independent house or builder floor; and in Vidhyadhar Nagar and along Sikar Road the address is a sector number or a township gate.

This guide covers two zones: C-Scheme, Bani Park and Vidhyadhar Nagar, and Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar and Bapu Nagar. For each area it sets out how tutors travel there, what the gate or doorstep routine looks like, and which class times hold up well around the busiest roads.

How do the two zones compare?

The Pink Line serves only the western edge of this part of the city. Its elevated stations at Civil Lines, Railway Station and Sindhi Camp opened on 3 June 2015, and the underground extension from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar, under the old city, opened on 23 September 2020. East of C-Scheme there is no metro, so most tutors travel by scooter, car or auto.

The Orange Line, a north-south route, is planned and under construction; none of its stations can be used yet, so do not count on it when choosing a tutor.

C-Scheme, Bani Park and Vidhyadhar Nagar

This zone runs from the business district around Statue Circle north through the older residential streets near the railway station to the planned sectors of Vidhyadhar Nagar and the corridor of National Highway 52, known locally as Sikar Road. Tutors near the Pink Line can come by metro; further north, the scooter is the usual way.

  • C-Scheme: the city's main business district, with apartment buildings of three and four bedrooms beside older bungalows. Many buildings ask visitors to sign in, so give security the tutor's name in advance. Parking is tight during office hours, so after-school evenings or weekend mornings suit tutors who drive. Sindhi Camp station is close by.
  • Civil Lines: wide, green avenues with large government bungalows, private homes and apartment buildings. Civil Lines station stands on the elevated Ajmer Road stretch. Share a landmark with the address, because the large plots make gates easy to miss, and allow for evening traffic on Ajmer Road.
  • Bani Park: one of the older residential areas, close to the main railway station and the Sindhi Camp bus stand, with heritage homes and newer buildings on tree-lined streets. Independent houses mean the tutor comes straight to the door; street parking on the station side is limited.
  • Shastri Nagar: a settled locality next to Bani Park and Vidhyadhar Nagar, with independent homes and apartment buildings. There is no metro here; tutors come by scooter or auto. Planned Orange Line stops at Pani Pech and Ambabari lie nearby.
  • Vidhyadhar Nagar: planned as a satellite town for Jaipur on the 3 x 3 grid of the walled city, with numbered sectors along a central spine. Give the sector first. Sikar Road carries heavy traffic at peak hours, so build a buffer into evening classes.
  • Jhotwara: a north-western suburb that grew with one of the city's older industrial areas, with independent houses, builder floors and newer complexes. Kalwar Road and Khatipura Road are the links; evening traffic builds on Kalwar Road, so earlier slots help.
  • Sikar Road: a long corridor of plotted layouts, apartment projects and villa townships. Colonies near Vidhyadhar Nagar and Ambabari suit tutors from central Jaipur; outer layouts suit tutors living nearby. Townships register visitors at the gate.

Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar and Bapu Nagar

East of C-Scheme, this zone is mostly independent houses and builder floors in established colonies, with markets on the main roads and quieter lanes behind them. There is no metro station, but Gandhinagar railway station, in the Bajaj Nagar area and known as a station run entirely by women, mainly serves the southern side of the city.

  • Raja Park: a busy market road lined with shops and eateries, with builder floors and older houses in the lanes behind. Families on inner lanes should share a landmark and suggest where a two-wheeler can stand. Weekend mornings avoid the busiest market hours.
  • Jawahar Nagar: divided into Sectors 1 to 5, with independent houses on tree-lined streets and some mid-rise apartments. PIN code 302004 also covers parts of Raja Park and Adarsh Nagar, so always give the sector. Evening classes are easier to reach from the sector side than from Tonk Road.
  • Adarsh Nagar: older independent houses, builder floors and apartment buildings of two to five bedrooms. City buses serve the area; tutors mostly come by scooter or auto. Parking near the market roads is tight at peak hours.
  • Tilak Nagar: green, fairly quiet streets near the Moti Doongri temple, with independent houses and newer apartment projects that register visitors at the gate. Roads around Moti Doongri and towards Tonk Road are busy in the evening.
  • Bapu Nagar: between Tonk Road and C-Scheme, with older bungalows and newer apartment buildings. The main road to the airport and Tonk Road run close by, which makes it easy to reach from south Jaipur; traffic near the Bapu Nagar junction builds at peak hours.
  • Bajaj Nagar: a market locality near Tonk Road, home to Gandhinagar railway station. Tutors from Malviya Nagar and Durgapura reach it without crossing the old city. Independent houses mean a doorstep visit; flats may need gate registration.

When should a weekday class start?

  1. Soon after school, near the station and bus stand. Roads towards the railway station and Sindhi Camp fill up in the evening, so families in Bani Park, Civil Lines and C-Scheme gain most from an early slot.
  2. Later, if the tutor comes by metro. A tutor who rides the Pink Line to Sindhi Camp, Railway Station or Civil Lines is less affected by road traffic and can manage a later start.
  3. Weekend mornings around the markets. In Raja Park, Adarsh Nagar and Bajaj Nagar, market roads are busiest in the evening, so weekend mornings are often the calmest time.
  4. A buffer on the highways. On Sikar Road and in Vidhyadhar Nagar, add spare time to evening classes rather than moving them late into the night.

How NXTutors can help

Tell us your colony or sector, the class, board and subject, and we match two or three tutors, putting those nearest to you first, then others in your zone, then the rest of Jaipur, then online. You see each tutor's fee before the demo, the first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free. Start with maths home tutors in Jaipur, science, physics or chemistry, or see every area on home tutors across Jaipur.

For a budget, read the guide to home tuition fees in Jaipur. Elsewhere in the city, see the south and west Jaipur guide. If you teach and live in the city, see tuition jobs in Jaipur.

Frequently asked questions

Which metro stations serve central and north Jaipur?

Civil Lines, Railway Station and Sindhi Camp, all elevated Pink Line stations open since June 2015, serve the western side of the zone. Tutors heading to Bani Park, C-Scheme or Civil Lines can use them and finish by auto. Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar and the colonies around them have no metro station.

Is the Orange Line useful for tutors travelling to Vidhyadhar Nagar?

Not yet. The Orange Line is planned and under construction, with stops listed at Todi Mod, Harmada, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Ambabari and Pani Pech in the north. Until it opens, tutors reach Vidhyadhar Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Sikar Road by scooter, car or auto, so plan around road traffic.

Do tutors need gate registration in C-Scheme and Tilak Nagar?

Often, yes. Apartment buildings in C-Scheme and newer apartment projects in Tilak Nagar usually register visitors, so share the tutor's name with security before the free demo. In independent houses and builder floors, common in Bani Park, Jawahar Nagar and Raja Park, the tutor comes straight to the door.

Why should families in Jawahar Nagar and Vidhyadhar Nagar give the sector number?

Both are laid out in numbered sectors: Jawahar Nagar has Sectors 1 to 5, and Vidhyadhar Nagar has numbered sectors along a central spine. The sector is the quickest way for a first-time visitor to find the house, and in Jawahar Nagar the PIN code alone also covers parts of neighbouring colonies.

How much does home tuition cost in central Jaipur?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, which you see before the free demo.
