Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Jaipur parents tend to describe their English worry in one of a few ways. The child reads the chapter but cannot write a full answer in time. The school has moved from Hindi-medium to English-medium teaching and the gap is showing. Or a senior student needs polished writing for Class 12, a university application or an interview. Each calls for a different English tutor. NXTutors asks for the board, the medium and the class first, then your colony or sector, and returns two or three tutors with their fees shown. The opening lesson with the tutor you pick is a free demo. This guide is by the NXTutors Academic Team; the national English home tutor guide covers early reading and every board in depth.
Jaipur families study under CBSE, RBSE, CISCE's ICSE and ISC and, in a smaller group, Cambridge IGCSE or the IB. Each examines English differently, and the difference decides how a tutor should use the hour.
| Board and class | Papers and marks | Often under-practised |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE Class 10 | Board paper of 80 (reading 20; grammar 10, formal letter 5 and analytical paragraph 5; literature 40) plus 20 school marks | The analytical paragraph on a chart or graph |
| CBSE Class 11 | Reading 26, grammar and creative writing 23, literature 31 from Hornbill and Snapshots | Creative writing formats, which carry more marks than grammar |
| CBSE Class 12 | Reading 22, creative writing 18, literature 40 from Flamingo and Vistas; internal 20 with a project | Literature answers that bring themes together across chapters |
| ICSE Class 10 | English Language and Literature in English, two papers of two hours and 80 marks each, each with 20 internal marks | Summary writing from an unseen passage of about 500 words |
| ISC Class 12 | Two three-hour papers of 80, each with 20 marks of project work | The 400 to 450 word composition under time |
| RBSE | The board's English syllabus and prescribed textbooks, with its own question paper, in Hindi-medium or English-medium schools | Writing full answers in English rather than translating from notes |
Cambridge IGCSE students are entered for either First Language English 0500 or English as a Second Language 0510, and the two reward different things; ask the school which one before choosing a tutor. For CISCE papers, see our notes on ICSE Class 10 English and ISC Class 12 English.
The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan conducts the state's secondary and senior secondary exams for its affiliated schools. We describe its English course only in general terms: the board sets the syllabus and the prescribed textbooks for its schools, writes its own question paper and publishes its own notices. A tutor should teach from the textbook your child actually uses and from the board's recent papers, and take the paper pattern, marking and dates only from the board's official website, not from a CBSE guidebook or from hearsay.
Two things are worth saying in your request. First, the medium of the school, because a student in a Hindi-medium school learns English as a language subject and may need a tutor who can explain grammar in Hindi at the start. Second, the class, because the step from Class 10 to senior secondary English usually brings longer writing tasks, and the tutor should plan for them early.
Not with grammar worksheets. A student switching medium usually understands more English than they can produce, so the fastest gains come from reading short texts aloud, answering in full sentences and rewriting one short paragraph each lesson after feedback. Vocabulary is best built from the child's own school chapters, so that new words are met again in class the next day. Within a few months the focus can shift to the formats the board marks: letters, notices, paragraphs and literature answers. Spoken confidence often lags behind writing; our spoken English guide for students suggests how to work on it at home.
Senior English is a writing course more than a grammar one. In CBSE Class 12, grammar leaves the board paper and literature rises to 40 of the 80 marks, with longer answers that compare characters and ideas across chapters. Creative writing is marked on format, content and accuracy, so a notice or article that is correct but thin still loses marks. Internal assessment adds listening, speaking and a project. An ISC student writes two full papers, a language paper with composition, directed writing, a proposal and comprehension, and a literature paper on drama, prose and poetry.
For a senior student who also attends coaching for an entrance exam, English is often the subject that gets squeezed. One focused lesson a week, built around a timed writing task and its marked rewrite, usually protects the English percentage without taking hours from other subjects.
The Pink Line has run since June 2015 from Mansarovar through the west and centre to the railway station and the old city. The Orange Line is planned and under construction but not open, so the east and south still rely on scooters, cars and autos.
| Zone | How tutors arrive | Settle before the demo |
|---|---|---|
| C-Scheme, Bani Park & Vidhyadhar Nagar | Pink Line to Civil Lines, Railway Station or Sindhi Camp for the south of the zone; by road further north | The sector number for Vidhyadhar Nagar; which end of Sikar Road you live on |
| Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar & Bapu Nagar | No station inside the zone; scooter, car or auto | A landmark on your inner lane and a spot for a two-wheeler |
| Vaishali Nagar & West Jaipur | Pink Line stations at Mansarovar, Shyam Nagar, Vivek Vihar and Ram Nagar; by road for Vaishali Nagar and Chitrakoot | Gate registration in gated communities |
| Mansarovar & Sanganer | Pink Line from Mansarovar eastward; roads and rail beyond | Scheme or sector with the flat number, since addresses repeat |
| Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura & Tonk Road | Scooter or car; Durgapura and Getor Jagatpura rail stations | Which side of Tonk Road you are on |
Bani Park is mostly independent houses near the railway station, so the tutor comes to the door; the Sindhi Camp and Railway Station stops help tutors who ride the metro, though street parking on the station side is limited. Shastri Nagar has houses and apartment blocks with no metro of its own, and tutors from Bani Park or Vidhyadhar Nagar are close by.
Jawahar Nagar runs in Sectors 1 to 5 of houses on leafy streets; mention the sector, and expect an easy doorstep visit. Chitrakoot, on Ajmer Road, is laid out in 12 sectors near the 200 Feet Bypass, where the evening traffic is heavy, so keep a little slack in the start time.
Pratap Nagar grew in numbered Housing Board sectors of flats on Tonk Road; give the sector with the flat number and register the tutor at any newer complex gate. Malviya Nagar has wide roads and a busy market that fills in the evening, so a slot straight after school often works best.
Our central and north Jaipur guide and south and west Jaipur guide cover each part of the city further.
For a young child learning to read, or a student switching medium who needs a lot of spoken practice, a tutor at the table is worth the travel. For board writing practice, online works well as long as the student hands in writing each week, by photo or shared document, and gets it back marked before the next lesson. IGCSE and IB English specialists are few in any one colony, so online widens the choice. If you live near a Pink Line station, say so, because that alone can bring in tutors from the other end of the line.
If the match is not right, tell us and we set up the next tutor on the shortlist; switching later is free as well. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors fix their own rates, which move with the board and class, experience of that paper, travel time at your slot and lessons per week. You see every fee before the demo. The Jaipur home tuition fees guide explains the range.
Tell us the class, the board and the school's medium, the skill that worries you, your colony with its sector or scheme, the times you can offer, home or online, and a budget. We send two or three English tutors, you choose one for the free demo, and a later switch costs nothing. NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; see tutors by colony on our Jaipur page.
For other subjects, see our maths tutors in Jaipur and science tutors in Jaipur. English teachers who live in the city can find open requests on the Jaipur tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets a rate, visible on the profile before you book the free demo.
Yes. Tell us the board, the class and that the school teaches in Hindi. We then look for a tutor who knows the RBSE prescribed textbooks and can explain grammar in Hindi at first, before moving the student to reading, writing and answering fully in English as the weeks go on.
Often in two places. Literature is 40 of the 80 board marks, and answers that are thin or over length lose easy marks. The analytical paragraph on a chart or graph is the other: students describe every figure instead of stating the trend, comparing and concluding. Both improve with weekly marked practice.
It can. The Pink Line has run since 2015 from Mansarovar through the west and centre to the railway station and the old city, so a family near a station can draw tutors from further along the line. Mention your nearest station when you send the request.
Grammar leaves the Class 12 board paper, and literature rises to 40 of the 80 marks, with longer answers linking ideas across Flamingo and Vistas. Creative writing is marked on format, content and accuracy. Internal assessment adds listening, speaking and a project, so writing and speaking both need regular practice.
Yes, if the lesson has a fixed shape. One weekly session built around a timed writing task, its marked rewrite and a short unseen passage usually protects the English percentage without taking hours from other subjects. Share the coaching timetable, so the tutor chooses a slot that does not clash.
Yes, though specialists are fewer, so the right tutor may live in another zone or teach online. First confirm whether the school has entered your child for IGCSE First Language 0500 or Second Language 0510, because they reward different skills. For IB, coursework must stay the student's own.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
