How are the RBSE Class 12 science papers built?

The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan sets its 2026–27 Class 12 science subjects as two papers each, theory and practical. For physics the syllabus says plainly that a candidate must pass the two papers separately, so a strong theory mark cannot rescue a weak practical.

What about RBSE maths, English and commerce?

Mathematics is a single paper of 3 hours 15 minutes for 80 marks plus 20 sessional. Of the 80, calculus carries 35, vectors and three-dimensional geometry 14, algebra 10, relations and functions 8, probability 8 and linear programming 5. That weighting tells a tutor where the hours belong: calculus, practised until integration and differential equations feel routine. English Compulsory follows the same 80-plus-20 shape with Flamingo and Vistas as the set books. Board percentage or entrance rank: why both count

Because the tests themselves look at them. The JEE Main 2026 bulletin ties admission conditions to Class 12 performance, either a 75% aggregate (65% for SC, ST and PwD candidates) or a rank inside the board's top 20 percentile. Only the highest-ranked 2,50,000 JEE Main candidates could register for JEE Advanced 2026. What should a final-year session look like?

Strong Class 12 sessions are short on explanation and long on answers. A typical ninety minutes might open with the two or three questions from the week's coaching or school test that went wrong, move to one board-style long answer written against the clock, and finish with a set of mixed problems from older chapters so that nothing goes stale. For RBSE students, every few weeks one session should be a full paper of 3 hours 15 minutes, done at home and marked by the tutor. In the sciences, the tutor should also ask to see the practical record now and then: because physics, chemistry and biology each carry a separate practical, an incomplete record is a real risk, not a formality.

Hindi medium, English medium and late switches

The Rajasthan board prints its syllabus with chapter names in Hindi and English, and many Jaipur students write their papers in Hindi. A tutor for a Hindi-medium student must use the terms in the Hindi textbook, especially in chemistry and biology, where a correct idea in the wrong words can lose marks. Students who move from a CBSE school to a Rajasthan board school for Class 12, or the reverse, should ask the tutor to compare the two syllabus documents and the paper formats in the first week, since the theory-sessional-practical split differs.

After the results

The Rajasthan board lists a scrutiny process and a supplementary examination on its home page after each main result, and its certificates with marksheets from 2015 to 2025 are available on DigiLocker. Forms and dates change every year, so take them only from the board's site. A tutor who knows the subject can help a student decide whether a supplementary attempt is worth it, and prepare for it in the short window available.
