Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Jaipur, a Class 10 student is most often sitting either the Rajasthan board's Secondary examination or a CBSE board paper, with smaller groups writing ICSE or IGCSE. The four exams overlap in content far more than parents expect, yet they are marked differently, so the tutor has to be chosen for the paper and the medium as well as the subject. Abhinandan Tiwary (Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths) and Aaditya Kashyap (CBSE and ICSE science) explain below how the RBSE papers are laid out, how they compare with the other boards, which subjects repay a tutor, how to plan the year, and how to keep weekly visits going across Jaipur's highway corridors until the last paper.
The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, which has its office in Ajmer, runs the Secondary School examination at the end of Class 10. Its syllabus for the 2026–27 session gives an examination scheme for every subject, and the core subjects share one shape:
| Subject (code) | Written paper | Sessional | Where a tutor helps most |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mathematics (09) | One paper, 3 hours 15 minutes, 80 marks | 20, for a total of 100 | Full written steps, chapter by chapter, from the prescribed textbook |
| Science (07) | One paper, 3 hours 15 minutes, 80 marks | 20 | Balanced equations, labelled diagrams and numericals in physics chapters |
| English (02) | One paper, 80 marks: reading 20, writing and grammar 20, literature 40 | 20 | Answer formats for letters and paragraphs; close reading of the two set books |
| Hindi (01) | One paper, 3 hours 15 minutes, 80 marks | 20 | Grammar sections and structured answers on the prose and poetry extracts |
| Social Science | One paper, 3 hours 15 minutes, 80 marks | 20 | A reading routine and map practice rather than weekly lessons |
That 20-mark sessional share is a fifth of every subject, and it is the part families notice least until the marksheet arrives. A tutor who checks that notebooks, assignments and school tests are kept up through the year protects those marks at almost no extra cost in time. Our page on Rajasthan Board tutors in Jaipur follows the board from Class 9 to Class 12.
The board's syllabus states that its Class 10 Science and Mathematics books are NCERT's books, published under copyright, and that the English set books are First Flight and Footprints without Feet. In practice that means the chapters an RBSE student studies look very like the chapters a CBSE student studies. What differs is the examination: its own paper length, its own marking and its own question style, together with the medium the student writes in.
Two consequences follow for choosing a tutor. A tutor trained on CBSE can usually teach the RBSE content well, but should practise from the board's own model questions and old papers, which the board links on its site under Books, Old Papers and Model Questions. And because the board prints chapter names in both Hindi and English, a Hindi-medium student needs a tutor who explains terms the way the Hindi edition does, so that the words in the answer match the words in the question. Say the medium in your request, and test it at the demo.
After its results, the Rajasthan board runs a scrutiny process and a supplementary examination, both listed on its home page for 2026, and its certificates with marksheets for 2015 to 2025 are already available on DigiLocker. Check each process on the board's site in the year you need it, since forms and deadlines are announced afresh.
The bigger decision is the Class 11 stream. On the Rajasthan board, the Senior Secondary examination is offered in Arts, Science and Commerce. Its Class 11 scheme puts physics and chemistry in every science combination, with one more subject chosen from biology, geology, mathematics or computer science and informatics practices, so a student who wants both biology and maths must plan for it early and confirm it with the school. Commerce pairs accountancy and business studies with one further subject. Class 10 marks in maths and science are often what settles the choice, which is one more reason to start tuition early. Our Class 11 home tutors in Jaipur page picks up from here.
| Board | How it is assessed | Choices and rules | Where marks slip |
|---|---|---|---|
| CBSE | Main subjects: 80-mark board paper plus 20 internal; a pass needs 33% in each subject; about half the questions test application | Maths at Standard or Basic; from 2026, a compulsory main exam and an optional second sitting to improve up to three subjects; 2027 dates not yet published | Case-based and unfamiliar questions under time pressure |
| ICSE | Maths: one three-hour paper of 80 marks, with 20 from internal work | A broad syllabus in every subject | Missing steps and hurried long answers |
| Cambridge IGCSE maths (0580) | Examined papers | Core (grades C–G) or Extended (A*–E) | Entering the wrong tier |
| Edexcel International GCSE maths | Examined papers | Foundation (5–1) or Higher (9–4) | Entering the wrong tier |
Each board has its own Jaipur page: CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE tutors in Jaipur. For ICSE maths specifically, read our ICSE Class 10 maths guide.
A single tutor for maths and science works when both are only slightly behind. If one subject is clearly weak, or the target is high, a specialist for that subject is the better use of the budget.
CBSE's session opens in April; Rajasthan board schools follow the calendar the board and the school announce. Count the stages from your own school's first month:
| Zone | How tutors usually arrive | Slot that holds up |
|---|---|---|
| C-Scheme, Bani Park & Vidhyadhar Nagar | Pink Line to Sindhi Camp or Railway Station for the south; scooter north of the station | Weekend mornings, when office parking is not a problem |
| Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar & Bapu Nagar | Scooter, car or auto; no metro station in the zone | Soon after school, before the market roads fill |
| Vaishali Nagar & West Jaipur | Pink Line for Nirman Nagar, Shyam Nagar and Sodala; road for Vaishali Nagar | A margin either side of the Ajmer Road evening rush |
| Mansarovar & Sanganer | Pink Line to Mansarovar; road for Pratap Nagar and Sanganer | Late evening or weekends, clear of the Gopalpura Bypass crowd |
| Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura & Tonk Road | Scooter or car; Durgapura and Getor Jagatpura rail stations nearby | Earlier evenings, with a tutor on your side of Tonk Road |
For maths and science, a tutor sitting beside the student catches the line where the method went wrong, and that is where Class 10 marks are won or lost. Online lessons earn their place for ICSE and IGCSE specialists, who are fewer, and for families far from the Pink Line who would otherwise wait for a tutor crossing a highway at rush hour. If lessons go online, the tutor must be able to see the student's writing, through a pen tablet, a shared whiteboard or a phone held over the page. Many families combine one home visit at the weekend with a shorter online lesson midweek, and switch to online entirely in the last fortnight if travel time starts to eat into revision.
The demo costs nothing. If the first tutor is not right, another tutor from your shortlist can take a demo, and changing tutor later in the year costs nothing either. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified, and our demo class checklist has more questions to ask.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For the board year, the quote depends on the board, how many subjects the tutor covers, the tutor's experience with that paper, the journey at your chosen hour and how many sessions a week you book. Tutors set their own rates, and each one is visible on the shortlist before you agree to anything. See our pricing guide and the post on home tuition fees in Jaipur.
In C-Scheme, apartment buildings sit between offices and hotels, so the guard should have the tutor's name before the first visit, and Sindhi Camp station is close for anyone coming by metro. Jawahar Nagar is laid out in Sectors 1 to 5 of independent homes, so give the sector with the house number and the tutor comes straight to the door.
Sodala has Ram Nagar station on Hawa Sadak, and many of its builder floors are doorstep visits. Further along the same corridor, families on Ajmer Road should say how far out they live, because the colonies near Civil Lines and the townships towards the outskirts draw on different tutors. Mansarovar sits at the Pink Line's western end, and its housing board flats need the scheme number as well as the flat, since addresses repeat. And in Durgapura, an orderly colony with its own railway station, tutors from Malviya Nagar and Pratap Nagar can arrive without crossing Tonk Road.
For the year before the boards, see Class 9 tutors in Jaipur. Tell us the board, the medium, the subjects, your colony with its sector or scheme, and the evenings that are free; two or three tutors come back with their fees. The Rajasthan board's 2026–27 syllabus sets Class 10 mathematics as one written paper of 3 hours 15 minutes for 80 marks, with 20 sessional marks making a total of 100. The textbook is NCERT's, published under copyright. Practise from the board's model questions and old papers, and check the scheme on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in.
Often, yes. The board lists NCERT books for Class 10 maths and science, so the chapters are familiar to a CBSE-trained tutor. The paper, marking and medium differ, though. Ask the tutor to work from RBSE model papers and, for a Hindi-medium student, to use the terms printed in the Hindi textbook.
Yes. In the core subjects the board gives 20 of the 100 marks as sessional marks, beside the 80-mark written paper. That is a fifth of each subject. A tutor who keeps notebooks, assignments and school tests up to date through the year protects those marks with very little extra effort.
CBSE began two Class 10 board exams in 2026: a compulsory main exam and an optional second exam to improve up to three subjects. The 2027 dates had not been announced when this page was written, so check cbse.gov.in before building a revision calendar around either sitting.
The board offers Arts, Science and Commerce at Senior Secondary level. Its Class 11 scheme pairs physics and chemistry with one more subject such as biology or mathematics, and commerce pairs accountancy with business studies. Class 10 maths and science marks often settle the choice, so confirm combinations with the school early.
At the start of the school year: April for CBSE schools, and the month your Rajasthan board school reopens. That leaves time to repair Class 9 gaps before chapter tests begin. A tutor who starts in winter can still sharpen timing with full papers, but has little time to rebuild weak foundations.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. In Class 10, board, subjects, experience and travel decide the rate, shown before the demo.
Yes. For ICSE we look for tutors who know the CISCE paper and insist on complete working. For IGCSE we match by syllabus and tier, such as Cambridge 0580 Core or Extended, or Edexcel Foundation or Higher. Specialists are fewer, so a mix of home and online lessons often widens the choice.
