What home tuition costs in Jaipur

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

CBSE home tutors in Jaipur: NCERT, sample papers and the 2026-27 changes, Class 6 to 12

In Jaipur the first question a tutor asks is not the chapter but the board, because the city's families are split across CBSE, the Rajasthan board (RBSE), CISCE and a smaller group on the IB or Cambridge. This page is for CBSE families. It covers how CBSE's papers are built, what has changed for Classes 9 and 10 from 2026-27, how the senior subjects are marked, which subjects Jaipur parents usually want help with, how tutors travel to each of the city's five zones, and a short checklist for the free demo. The authors are Abhinandan Tiwary, who writes on Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths, and Aaditya Kashyap, on CBSE and ICSE science. If you want the board explained at greater length, read our CBSE board guide.

CBSE in Jaipur's school mix, and how it differs from RBSE

Our Jaipur tutors page describes four broad systems in the city: CBSE, the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, CISCE's ICSE and ISC, and a smaller IB and Cambridge group. We have no reliable figure for how many students are on each, so we do not give one.

What matters for tuition is the difference in how the boards examine. CBSE papers grow out of the NCERT textbooks, and CBSE publishes sample papers and marking schemes in advance. RBSE conducts the state's own secondary and senior secondary exams for its affiliated schools, with its own syllabus, books and paper pattern, and its students may learn in Hindi or English medium. A tutor who is excellent for RBSE in Hindi may not be the right fit for an English-medium CBSE student, and the reverse is just as true. Families who move a child between the two boards, for example at Class 9 or Class 11, should ask for a tutor who has taught both, at least for the first term.

What a CBSE tutor works on at each stage

CBSE stages and tutoring needs for Jaipur students
ClassesExamsCommon weak spotsWhat tuition should do
6 to 8Set by the schoolFractions, negative numbers, reading a science paragraphBuild foundations; one tutor for maths and science is often enough
9School annual exam on the common paperThe step up in algebra, physics numericalsSecure NCERT; decide on the Advanced papers
10Board exam with internal assessment; optional second examPresentation, case-based questions, timeSample papers under time; a whole-year plan
11School examsCalculus, mechanics, organic basics, accounting formatsSpecialist per subject; steady weekly pace
12Board theory plus practical or internal marksCovering the entire syllabus; practical fileRevision cycles, full papers, practical guidance

What is new in Classes 9 and 10

  • A common paper and an optional Advanced level. From 2026-27 all Class 9 students sit a common 80-mark, three-hour paper in maths and science. They may also choose Mathematics Advanced, Science Advanced, both or neither: 25 marks each, one hour, entirely higher-order questions. The marks are not counted in the aggregate; a student who scores 50% or more gets a note on the marksheet.
  • Standard and Basic maths phased out. The old split ends from 2026-27, except for the Class 10 batch of that year, which completes the earlier scheme.
  • Two Class 10 board exams. The first is compulsory. A student who passes can use the second to improve up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and the languages.
  • A third language. Compulsory in the transition batches, assessed by the school, with no board exam, but needed for the certificate.

For a Jaipur parent the practical decision is whether to attempt Advanced. Choose it in a subject your child already enjoys and handles well, after a few weeks of tuition have shown how secure the common syllabus is. See Class 10 maths tutoring and the Class 10 board-year plan.

How senior CBSE subjects are marked

Theory and practical or internal marks, 2026-27 senior curriculum
SubjectsSplitWhere steady tuition pays
Physics, Chemistry, Biology70 theory, 30 practicalNumericals with units, reactions, diagrams, the practical record
Mathematics or Applied Mathematics (one only)80 theory, 20 internalFull working in calculus and algebra
Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies80 theory, 20 internalFormats, diagrams, case answers

The Class 12 board paper covers the whole Class 12 syllabus, and CBSE says senior papers will carry more questions set in real situations. The paper design for each year comes with that year's sample paper.

Competency questions, and why NCERT alone is no longer enough

The 2026-27 secondary curriculum says about half of each board paper is competency-focused: case-based, source-based, integrated and data-interpretation items, plus situational and application questions. The rest is multiple choice and short or long answers. A student who has only finished the NCERT exercises often knows the content and still drops marks on an unseen passage or table. Good tuition therefore adds a regular "cold" question: the tutor gives an unfamiliar case, the student identifies which chapter's idea it uses, writes the answer, and then both check it against the marking scheme. A tutor who does this every week is preparing for the paper CBSE actually sets.

A CBSE tuition hour that earns its fee

Parents rarely see the lesson itself, so it helps to know what a productive one contains. It should start with the school week: which NCERT exercises the class covered, which your child skipped, and the one question that caused trouble. Then the tutor takes a single chapter, explains it from the NCERT text, and moves through exemplar and competency-style questions on the same idea, from easy to hard. The last stretch is written work: two or three board-style answers completed in full, then marked step by step the way CBSE's marking scheme awards marks. In science that means labelled diagrams and units on every numerical; in maths, each step on its own line; in accountancy, the correct format. Across a month, the tutor should keep a simple record of chapters done, test scores and recurring mistakes. Ask to see it. A record that shows the same error three weeks running is a signal to change the approach, or the tutor.

Subjects Jaipur parents ask for, and our Jaipur pages

Maths and science dominate requests up to Class 10. After that, science students lean towards physics and maths, and commerce students towards accountancy and economics. English is requested at every stage.

Reading: Class 12 calculus and algebra and Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry.

How CBSE tutors reach Jaipur's five zones

Zone guides: central and north Jaipur and south and west Jaipur.

Home lessons or online?

Up to Class 10 a CBSE tutor at the table is usually worth the travel, since the board rewards neat steps, labelled diagrams and units, all easier to correct beside the notebook. For Class 11 and 12 specialists, Jaipur's geography decides more: crossing Tonk Road or Ajmer Road in the evening is slow, and the Orange Line is still being built, so do not plan a commute around it. Families near a Pink Line stop have the widest choice. Elsewhere, one home lesson a week plus a short online session with the same tutor is a common answer, particularly when coaching fills the evenings. Our home versus online guide weighs it up.

Five checks for the free CBSE demo

  1. Which sample paper and marking scheme are they using this session?
  2. Can they teach a case-based question so your child learns to read it, not just answer it?
  3. Do they correct presentation, units and every step against the marking scheme?
  4. If they also teach RBSE, how will they keep the CBSE pattern separate for your child?
  5. What will the next four weeks cover, and how will progress be recorded?

You see two or three matched tutors and each fee before the demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check.

Fees and next steps

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. In Jaipur the class, the number of subjects, sessions per week and the tutor's route across the city decide the figure. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Jaipur.

CBSE Home Tutor in Jaipur (Classes 6–12): common questions

How do I get a CBSE home tutor in Jaipur?

Send the class, subjects, your locality and the slots you can offer. We confirm the board first, since Jaipur families study under CBSE, RBSE, CISCE and international programmes, then shortlist two or three CBSE tutors who can reach you. You see each fee before booking, and the first class is a free demo.

What is the difference between CBSE and RBSE for tuition?

CBSE builds its papers on NCERT textbooks and publishes sample papers and marking schemes in advance. RBSE runs Rajasthan's own exams with its own syllabus, books and pattern, and many of its students study in Hindi medium. A tutor should know your child's board and medium; for a switch, ask for someone who has taught both.

Should my child take the CBSE Advanced maths or science paper in Class 9?

Only in a subject your child enjoys and already handles well. From 2026-27, Advanced papers are optional, carry 25 marks, last one hour and use only higher-order questions. They do not count in the aggregate, though scoring 50% or more is noted on the marksheet. Decide after a few weeks of tuition.

How does the second CBSE Class 10 board exam work?

The first board exam is compulsory for every student. A student who has passed may sit the second exam to improve marks in up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and the languages. Treat the first exam as the real target and keep the second for a subject that genuinely went wrong.

Which Jaipur areas are easiest for a CBSE tutor to reach?

Homes near the Pink Line, from Mansarovar through Shyam Nagar and Sodala to Civil Lines, can draw on tutors who ride in. Raja Park, Jawahar Nagar and Bapu Nagar sit close together, so local tutors cover them well. Vaishali Nagar, Jagatpura and outer Sikar Road depend more on tutors living nearby.

Can a CBSE tutor help alongside JEE or NEET coaching in Jaipur?

Yes, and it often helps most when coaching takes the evenings. Board papers reward complete, well-presented NCERT answers, while entrance tests reward speed and depth. A board tutor who plans around the coaching timetable, perhaps with one home and one short online session a week, keeps both on track.

How much does a CBSE home tutor cost in Jaipur?

Across NXTutors most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour, with Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET toward the upper end. For CBSE in Jaipur the class, number of subjects, sessions per week and the tutor's route across the city move the fee. You see every fee first.
