What home tuition costs in Bhilai

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Example only, not a quote: one subject, one-hour classes, 4 weeks a month. Your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
Classes a week Classes a month At ₹800 an hour At ₹2,500 an hour
2 8 ₹6,400 a month ₹20,000 a month
3 12 ₹9,600 a month ₹30,000 a month

Why one-to-one home tuition costs more than group coaching

In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Home tuition in Bhilai: a parent's guide from the township sectors to Charoda

Bhilai, in Durg district of Chhattisgarh, began as a planned township, and that plan still shapes how families give an address. At the centre sit the numbered sectors, where a home is a street and a quarter number. Beside them, along the G. E. Road, lie Supela, Nehru Nagar and Radhika Nagar. Smriti Nagar, Kohka and Junwani follow Junwani Road towards Durg, the twin city next door; Vaishali Nagar, Kurud and Kailash Nagar run towards Jamul; Risali, Maitri Kunj and Ashish Nagar form the Risali side; and Bhilai-3, Charoda and Padum Nagar make up old Bhilai in the north. Whichever part you call home, tuition here comes down to two practical points: finding a tutor who can reach your door every week without a struggle, and being clear about the one job you want that tutor to do.

What happens when a Bhilai family asks for a tutor?

You write to us once. Say which class your child is in and which board the school follows, name the subjects that are causing worry, and give your address the way a visitor would need it: sector, street and quarter in the township, or colony, lane and house number elsewhere. Add the hours that are truly free on school days, whether you want lessons at home, on a screen or a mix, and a rough monthly budget so the suggestions stay sensible. We send back two or three matched tutors. You can read each one's fee before you meet them, and the first lesson with the tutor you choose is a free demo. In Bhilai, four details shape a good match:

  • Which side of the city you live on. A tutor in one township sector can usually teach in the sectors on either side, and a tutor on Junwani Road can move easily between Smriti Nagar, Kohka and Junwani. Charoda and Bhilai-3 sit a little apart, so a tutor from that side tends to last longer there.
  • An hour that stays the same each week. After-school tests, sport and family duties eat into weekdays. Pick the slot your child can keep through the term and tell us; we leave out tutors who cannot manage it.
  • The board and the language of teaching. The state board and CBSE set different kinds of paper, and families on ICSE, ISC or an international syllabus need a tutor who knows that format. Some children follow most easily in Hindi, some in English, many in a blend.
  • How the address reads. Street numbers repeat from one sector to the next, colony names in Kailash Nagar can sound alike, and Bhilai-3 is easy to confuse with the township. A clear address and a map pin save a wasted first trip.

Treat the demo as a normal lesson on the chapter your child is studying this week. If it does not suit, tell us, and the next tutor on the shortlist can take a demo; changing tutor later on costs nothing either.

Bhilai in six zones

Bhilai suggestions are drawn from our wider set of tutor profiles, and 19 Bhilai localities have their own page. Each page lists tutors in a fixed order: people who live in that locality first, then those willing to travel to it, then the rest of the zone, then Bhilai as a whole, and online tutors last. For home visits we group the city into six zones: the Township Sectors, Supela and Nehru Nagar, Smriti Nagar and Kohka, Vaishali Nagar and Kurud, Risali and Maitri Kunj and Bhilai-3 and Charoda. These groups are ours, drawn up for tutor travel. They do not follow ward lines or the boundaries of the three municipal corporations that share the Bhilai urban area.

Township Sectors: numbered streets at the planned centre

The modern city grew out of an agreement signed in 1955; before that, Bhilai was a small village. The township that followed was laid out in sectors, and civic work passed to a special area authority in 1973 before Bhilai became a municipal corporation in 1998. One of the corporation's five administrative zones is still called Sector 06. Our pages here are Sectors 1 and 2, Sectors 4 and 5, Sector 6 and Sector 10.

Homes in the sectors are quarters along numbered streets, so "sector, street, quarter" is the whole address, in that order. Because the same street numbers turn up in more than one sector, always lead with the sector. Sector 1 lies towards the G. E. Road, Supela and Nandini Road; Sector 6 has Radhika Nagar, Sector 5 and Sector 10 around it; and Sector 10 reaches out towards Talpur, Pragati Nagar and the Risali side. The sectors sit side by side, so a tutor who lives in one can often teach in two or three others in the same week, and a steady weekly slot is easier to hold here than almost anywhere else in the city.

Supela and Nehru Nagar: the G. E. Road belt

Supela runs along the G. E. Road, and the office of the Bhilai municipal corporation stands on that road here. Older official records name Supela Bazar East and West and Supela Camp West as parts of Bhilainagar, which explains why Supela addresses often carry one of those labels. Homes and shops mix along the main road, with quieter residential lanes behind. Nehru Nagar gives its name to zone 1 of the corporation and has a separate eastern part, Nehru Nagar East, so say which one you mean. Radhika Nagar lies between Supela and the township, with Priyadarshini Parisar, Sector 5 and Sector 10 around it.

Being central, this belt is within reach of tutors from most directions. The catch is the main road in the evening, which stays busy, so many families here choose a lesson soon after school or later in the evening once the road calms. If your door is behind a shop front on the G. E. Road, say so and name the turning; in Radhika Nagar, where lanes can look much alike to a newcomer, send a map pin before the demo.

Smriti Nagar and Kohka: along Junwani Road towards Durg

Smriti Nagar, Kohka and Junwani share Junwani Road on the side of Bhilai that faces Durg. Smriti Nagar counts Nehru Nagar, Pushpak Nagar and Shivaji Nagar among its neighbours. Kohka includes a housing board colony that people often name on its own, so tell the tutor whether you live in Kohka Housing Board or the older part of Kohka. Junwani sits so close to the twin city that some property listings file it under Durg.

Junwani Road is the line most tutors use to find a home on this side, so give the nearest turning off it. Since the three localities share that road, a tutor living in any one of them can usually reach the other two, and a tutor living just across in Durg may be able to come as well. Write "Junwani, Bhilai" in full, so nobody sets off for the wrong side. For senior students preparing for an entrance exam alongside school, a clear weekly plan in one subject is worth more here than a tutor who offers everything.

Vaishali Nagar and Kurud: colonies running towards Jamul

Vaishali Nagar gives its name to zone 2 of the municipal corporation. Its neighbours include Sunder Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Kailash Nagar, Kohka and an MP Housing Board colony. Kurud lists Jamul and Nandini Road among the places near it; Jamul is a separate municipality inside the same urban area. Kailash Nagar borders Kurud and Jawahar Nagar.

The colonies in this belt sit close together, which helps: a tutor from one can often teach in another on the same evening. The difficulty is naming. Colony names here can sound alike, and some lanes in Kurud run long, so say which end of the lane you live on, write the colony name exactly as it appears on your gate, and in Vaishali Nagar add whether you are nearer Supela or Kurud. Families towards Jamul may find that a tutor from Kurud or Kailash Nagar is closer than one from the township.

Risali and Maitri Kunj: the Risali side

Risali has its own municipal corporation with 40 wards, one of three corporations in the Bhilai urban area alongside Bhilai and Bhilai Charoda; families still treat it as part of the same city. Its neighbours include Awadhpuri, Pragati Nagar, Dhanora and Maitri Nagar. Maitri Kunj lists Gandhi Nagar, Pragati Nagar, Talpur and Borsi nearby, and Ashish Nagar has a separately named western part, Ashish Nagar West.

The name Risali covers a wide spread, so give the exact colony or sector rather than "Risali" alone, and in Ashish Nagar say which part. Sector 10 of the township lies close by, which widens the choice: families on this side can draw on tutors from the sectors as well as from Risali's own colonies. Ask for someone from your own side first, then let us widen the search to the sectors next door if no one suitable is free at your hour.

Bhilai-3 and Charoda: old Bhilai in the north

Bhilai-3, Charoda and Padum Nagar come under the Bhilai-Charoda municipal corporation, the part of the city known as old Bhilai. It was formed as a municipal council in 2000, after the special area authority was dissolved, and became a corporation on 8 June 2015; its office is at Bhilai-3, where Vasundhara Nagar is one of the colonies. Charoda mixes industry with housing and is known for its large railway marshalling yard. Padum Nagar lies near Charoda, Shanti Nagar and Umda Road.

Put "Bhilai-3" at the very start of the address, so a tutor does not mistake it for a township sector. In Padum Nagar, give the turning from Umda Road and send a map pin; in Charoda, name the colony, lane and house number. This side is a little apart from the township and Supela, so most families do well with a nearby tutor for regular visits and, for a senior-class subject, an online specialist when no one close by is free.

CGBSE, CBSE, CISCE or an international syllabus: who teaches what?

Most schools in Bhilai follow either the Chhattisgarh state board or CBSE, and some families study under CISCE or an international programme. We check the syllabus before suggesting anyone, because a tutor at home in one style of paper can be new to another.

BoardWhat it coversA question for the tutor
Chhattisgarh Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal (CGBSE), Raipur The High School examination at Class 10, for regular, private and vocational candidates, and the Higher Secondary examination at Class 12, for regular and private candidates. Will you teach from the board's prescribed books, in the medium my child uses, and practise on the board's own papers?
CBSE NCERT textbooks at the centre, with questions that ask students to apply an idea rather than only repeat it. How often will my child write full board-style answers, not just short objective ones?
CISCE: ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) Detailed written papers across many subjects, prescribed English literature and internal project work. How will you pace revision so the last month is not spent rushing unseen chapters?
IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE Internal Assessment and coursework alongside final papers for IB; past papers and mark schemes for IGCSE. Can you guide the coursework while leaving every word of it to my child?

The state board was set up after Chhattisgarh was formed, by a notification of July 2001, and has run its own examinations since 2002. Durg district, and so Bhilai, falls under its Rajnandgaon divisional office. Its home page states that cgbse.nic.in is its only official website, so read results, timetables and notices there and nowhere else. For each board in more depth, see Chhattisgarh board tutors in Bhilai, CBSE home tutors in Bhilai and ICSE home tutors in Bhilai. IB and IGCSE families usually find the right specialist online.

How does a tutor's job change from primary to senior school?

Up to Class 8: steady basics

At this stage the tutor is building habits: reading aloud without stumbling, times tables known by heart, and homework copies that are finished and neat. A short lesson soon after school, while the day's work is fresh, tends to suit younger children. Where a child reads Hindi at home and English at school, a short spell of reading in each language every session pays off. Before any entrance foundation course, make sure fractions, decimals and simple equations are secure.

Classes 9 and 10: the run-up to the first board

Maths and Science grow harder in Class 9, and gaps left there show up in the Class 10 board paper, whether that is the CGBSE High School examination or CBSE. The tutor's task is to keep school chapters current and to build the habit of writing complete answers. Two NCERT-based guides help here: a Class 10 Maths preparation plan and Class 10 Science notes.

Classes 11 and 12: a specialist for each hard subject

The step into Class 11 is sharp, and a weak start in Physics, Chemistry or Maths usually carries over into the Higher Secondary or Class 12 board year. Choose a separate specialist for each subject that worries you rather than one tutor for all. Our Class 12 Physics strategies and calculus and algebra guide fit this year well.

Which subjects can a Bhilai tutor take on?

Maths and the sciences are the subjects most families think of first from Class 9 onwards, but tutors listed with us cover far more: English, Hindi, Social Science, Computer Science, Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies. For a child in the early classes, one tutor can often look after every subject. Each core subject has its own Bhilai page: maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English.

Whatever the board, a few habits mark out a strong subject tutor. In Maths, they trace a wrong answer back to the step where it first slipped, even if that step belongs to last year's chapter. In Physics, they ask the student to describe what is happening in plain words before any formula is written. In Chemistry, they keep numericals, reactions and the facts of the periodic table moving together instead of one after another; our Class 12 Organic and Inorganic Chemistry guide shows one way to do it. In Biology, they make diagrams and labelling part of every lesson. And in English, particularly for a child who studied in Hindi medium until recently, they build vocabulary in both languages first and let English take over a little more each month.

Where does a home tutor fit in JEE or NEET preparation?

Some Bhilai students prepare for an entrance exam on their own, some follow an online course and some attend a coaching class. In each case a personal tutor's hour works well with a narrow, named job rather than a second run through the same lessons. Parents usually choose one of these:

  1. Clearing doubts. The student brings the week's unsolved problems, and nothing new starts until they are understood.
  2. Keeping the board year safe. Entrance practice rarely trains long written answers, English or school projects, so the tutor covers what the board paper needs.
  3. Checked practice. A fixed set of problems in the weakest subject each week, marked line by line with the student watching.
  4. One plan for two syllabuses. NCERT sits under both the board papers and the entrance syllabus, so revision can be arranged to serve both.

Take exam facts only from the official sites. NTA conducts JEE Main in two sessions early in the year, and students who qualify can go on to JEE Advanced; NEET UG is held once a year, and Biology carries half of its marks, which is why the NCERT Biology books reward slow, careful reading. Every date belongs to that year's information bulletin on nta.ac.in. For more, see JEE tutors in Bhilai and NEET tutors in Bhilai.

Should Bhilai lessons happen at home or online?

Both can work well; the right choice depends on the child and the hour. Home visits suit children below about Class 6, anyone whose attention drifts on a screen, and subjects where you want to watch every line of working on paper. Online lessons open the search to tutors across India, which matters for IB, IGCSE, an unusual ISC elective or advanced problem solving. A few local points tip the balance:

  • The sectors make home visits easy. With numbered streets and sectors side by side, a township family can often find a tutor living a few streets away, which keeps visits regular.
  • The G. E. Road in the evening. The main road through Supela stays busy late in the day, so an earlier slot, or an online session on the busiest days, keeps lessons on time.
  • Old Bhilai sits apart. Families in Charoda, Bhilai-3 and Padum Nagar often pair a nearby home tutor for regular subjects with an online specialist for Class 11 and 12 science or maths.
  • Summer heat and monsoon rain. Agree at the start that the hardest days move to a screen instead of being cancelled.

A pattern many families settle on is two or three home lessons a week with a short online check before tests, all with the same tutor. See online tutors for Bhilai and our comparison of home and online tutoring.

What do home tutors in Bhilai charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

We do not fix fees. Every tutor sets their own, and you see the fee of each tutor on your shortlist before the demo. Instead of comparing numbers on their own, put the same few questions to each tutor:

  • How long is one lesson, and how many lessons a week do you suggest for this class?
  • Do you charge differently for entrance preparation than for school work?
  • Does coming to my part of Bhilai, say from the sectors to Charoda, change the fee?
  • What is the arrangement if either of us has to miss a lesson?

If the budget is tight, spend it first on the subject that causes the most trouble; one strong tutor there usually does more than the same money spread thinly. We do not suggest tutors above the budget you give us. For fees by class and subject, read the pricing guide, and for the local picture, our post on home tuition fees in Bhilai.

How do you judge a tutor during the free demo?

A profile helps you make a shortlist, but one real lesson tells you much more. Sit within earshot, or ask your child afterwards, and go through these points:

  • Did the tutor ask what the school week already holds, including tests, before starting to teach?
  • Did they try a few questions to find your child's level, rather than opening the book at the first page?
  • Could they explain what their hour will add that school does not?
  • Was the language right, whether Hindi, English or the mix you asked for?
  • Asked about this year's CGBSE or CBSE paper, did they answer clearly and specifically?
  • Did your child spend most of the lesson writing and solving, or mostly listening?
  • Can the tutor honestly keep the agreed hour every week, coming from where they live?

Small arrangements matter as well. For a township quarter, send the sector, street and quarter number with a map pin; for a colony house, the colony, lane and a nearby landmark. Hold lessons in a shared room while an adult is at home. Our parents' demo class checklist goes into more detail.

When in the year should tuition begin?

Whenever the need appears, though each season asks for something different. Taking CBSE's April start as a reference point:

  • The new session and the summer break. The most useful window for closing last year's gaps before new chapters arrive; morning or evening lessons avoid the heat of the day.
  • The monsoon months. Keep a steady weekly rhythm, with online as the agreed fallback on heavy-rain days.
  • The festival season in autumn. Expect a few lighter weeks, and add hours either side of them.
  • Winter. Finish the syllabus, then move to full-length papers and pre-board practice, taking exam dates only from the board's notices.
  • Spring. Board papers end, and the second JEE Main session, JEE Advanced and NEET UG follow.

State-board families should keep to the CGBSE calendar and notices, which need not match CBSE's. The board also holds a second main examination, an extra opportunity for students who need it: in 2026 it declared the main High School and Higher Secondary results on 29 April and the second main examination results on 13 August. Check cgbse.nic.in for the coming year's dates. Beginning in April gives the most time, but starting later still helps, with more weight on past papers and exam technique.
