Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Science in the middle years asks a child to do three new things at once: read a diagram, use a scientific word correctly and work a short numerical with its unit. Children who learn those habits in Classes 6 to 9 meet the Class 10 board with less fear, whether their school follows the Chhattisgarh board's own textbook, NCERT under CBSE, or the books an ICSE school picks. A home science tutor is most useful when they teach from the book your child carries and check written answers every week. Share your board and your sector or colony, and NXTutors comes back with two or three science tutors who fit both, fees listed before you meet. The opening lesson is a free demo.
Aaditya Kashyap is the author of the advice here for CBSE and ICSE students; the Chhattisgarh board part draws on the board's own published documents. The job of a science tutor shifts every year, and each year has one thing a parent can check:
| Class | What the tutor works on | Parent's question |
|---|---|---|
| 6 and 7 | Turning each activity in the textbook into one clear sentence and a small labelled drawing | Does my child use the proper scientific word? |
| 8 | Separating physics, chemistry and biology, with the first word equations and simple numericals | Is a unit written with every answer? |
| 9 | A much fuller book, with motion, matter and cells arriving together | Is each weak chapter fixed before the next test? |
| 10 | Every chapter aimed at the board paper and its question plan | Has my child written a full paper against the clock? |
Until the board year, a single tutor covering physics, chemistry and biology is usually the simpler choice: one person can tell whether a wrong electricity answer is a sum gone astray or a concept never grasped. How we match is set out on the national science home tutor page; the Class 9 science tutor page deals with the year many students find hardest.
The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), headquartered in Raipur, runs the High School examination that closes Class 10; Durg district, Bhilai included, is handled by its Rajnandgaon divisional office. In Classes 9 and 10 every student takes six subjects, and science is one of them. Its marks split into a written paper of 75 and a practical of 25, and the two parts are passed separately, with 25 needed in the paper and 8 in the practical.
The 2026-27 science blueprint spreads the 75 written marks across eighteen chapters, each worth between 3 and 5 marks. They include acids, bases and salts; periodic classification; electric current; life processes; metals and metallurgy; light; heredity; and hydrocarbon derivatives. The lesson for a tutor is plain. No single chapter can sink the paper, but none can safely be skipped, so the year should move through the book at an even pace rather than racing to favourite topics. The board publishes these blueprints in Hindi, and a Hindi-medium child should learn to write answers with the textbook's own Hindi terms. Our Chhattisgarh board tutors in Bhilai page covers every subject on the board.
Science uses the same question plan as the board's maths paper: nineteen questions for 75 marks. Question 1 is a block of fifteen one-mark parts. After it come five questions of 2 marks, five of 3, five of 4 and three of 5. Each group calls for a different kind of practice:
The board's site also carries model question papers on its Parakh page, a question bank for Classes 9 to 12 and the Class 9 blueprints. A tutor should build tests from those before reaching for a guidebook.
The experiments themselves happen at school, and the marks are the school's to give. Even so, a tutor can make sure the practical never becomes the weak part. Three things help: the practical notebook kept up to date after each school experiment, with aim, diagram, observation and result; a quick oral check on why each step is done; and the environment project, which the board's plan expects in every subject, chosen early and written by the child. Because the practical has its own pass mark, a child who writes a good paper can still be held back by a neglected notebook.
For CBSE families, 80 marks come from the board paper and 20 from school, split evenly at 5 each across periodic tests, multiple assessment, the portfolio and practical-based subject enrichment. The five units are far from equal. Chemical Substances and World of Living carry 25 each, Effects of Current 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5. Half the marks reward recall and understanding, 30% the use of ideas, and 20% analysis or evaluation.
CBSE's 2026-27 sample paper runs to 39 questions. Twenty are worth a mark each (multiple-choice or assertion–reason); then the paper asks for 2-mark answers six times, 3-mark answers seven times, three 4-mark items built on a case or source, and three 5-mark long answers. In 2026-27 the school rather than the board examines evolution, the periodic arrangement of elements, and the cluster around electromagnetic induction, generators and motors. All three return in Class 11; teach them properly, then spend revision on the board chapters. A list of 14 curriculum experiments feeds board questions, so the practical file is revision too. After the compulsory main exam, eligible students may take an optional extra attempt in as many as three subjects; its timetable comes only from cbse.gov.in. See the CBSE Class 10 science notes, the board-year planner, the Class 10 science tutor page and our CBSE home tutors in Bhilai page.
In 2026-27 CBSE Class 9 uses NCERT's newer Exploration book, with the same 80 written and 20 internal marks. The unit on matter is weighted at 27, life at 25, motion with force, work and sound at 23, and Earth as a system at just 5. Hand-me-down notes from an older sibling follow the earlier book, so ask the tutor to plan from the current chapters.
CISCE does not set one science paper for ICSE Class 10. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three exams, and each carries internal marks of its own. Because every ICSE school picks its own books inside the council's syllabus, a tutor should work from those books and from CISCE specimen papers, not from an NCERT plan. Precise definitions and complete numericals earn the marks. If your child's school follows CISCE, ask for a tutor early, and consider an online tutor if nobody nearby has taught the course.
Middle-school science lessons tend to fit into the gap after school and before the evening meal. That makes a tutor living close by, with an easy route, the most reliable choice. These six localities show what to arrange. Browse every locality on our Bhilai page.
Sectors 4 and 5 sit in the middle of the township, with quarters along numbered streets; send the sector, street and quarter number, and say which end of the street you are on. Sector 6, which gives its name to one of the corporation's five zones, has Radhika Nagar, Sector 5 and Supela close by, so tutors from any of them can reach you easily.
Nehru Nagar has an eastern part often written as Nehru Nagar East, so say which one before the block and house number. Radhika Nagar lies between the sectors and Supela, and its lanes can look alike to a newcomer; a map pin sent the day before saves time.
Kohka includes a housing board colony that is often named on its own, so tell the tutor whether you are there or in the older part. Junwani sits along Junwani Road near the twin city; write "Junwani, Bhilai" with a known turning, so a tutor coming from Durg does not head the wrong way.
The zone guides for the township sectors and Smriti Nagar and Kohka add local tips, and the Bhilai home tuition guide goes zone by zone.
On every board, careful children pick up marks here and hurried ones drop them. A science tutor should keep returning to five habits until they need no reminder:
Use the free demo on whatever chapter school is teaching now, and see if the tutor brings up these habits unasked. Our demo class checklist lists more signs. Not convinced? Another tutor from your shortlist can take a second demo, and switching tutor later costs nothing.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own rate. In the middle-school years, the useful questions are how the tutor would divide the months between new chapters and revision, and whether one of the weekly lessons could happen on screen. You see each fee before the demo; the Bhilai home tuition fees guide lists more questions.
Send the class, the board, the branch of science where marks slip, your sector and street (or colony and landmark) and the free afternoons. We reply with two or three science tutors and what each charges, and you book a free demo with one. Where no good match can travel at that hour, an online or part-online plan is the fallback. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Senior students in Bhilai can move on to separate physics, chemistry and biology tutors; families elsewhere in Chhattisgarh can compare science tutors in Raipur.
Science teachers living in Bhilai who would like pupils near home will find current requests on the Bhilai tuition jobs page.

CGBSE Class 10 science is marked as a written paper of 75 and a practical of 25. A Bhilai student must pass each part separately, with 25 in the paper and 8 in the practical. The 2026-27 blueprint spreads the 75 written marks across eighteen chapters worth 3 to 5 marks each.
Skipping a CGBSE Class 10 science chapter is risky, because the 2026-27 blueprint gives each of its eighteen chapters between 3 and 5 marks. Acids, bases and salts, electric current, light, life processes, heredity and the rest all count, so a Bhilai tutor should move through the book at an even pace.
Chhattisgarh board Class 10 science uses the same nineteen-question plan as its maths paper. Fifteen one-mark parts come first, then five questions each of 2, 3 and 4 marks, and three of 5. The eight longest answers carry 35 of the 75 written marks, so diagrams and steps need weekly practice.
CBSE Class 10 science gives Bhilai families an 80-mark board paper and 20 school marks, split into periodic tests, multiple assessment, portfolio and practical enrichment at 5 each. Chemical Substances and World of Living carry 25 each, Effects of Current 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5.
In 2026-27, the school rather than the CBSE board paper assesses evolution, the periodic arrangement of elements, and electromagnetic induction with generators and motors. Each returns in Class 11, so a Bhilai tutor should still teach them well but spend board revision weeks on the chapters the paper actually examines.
An ICSE Class 10 student in Bhilai writes three science papers, because CISCE examines Physics, Chemistry and Biology separately, each with internal marks. Schools pick their own books within the CISCE syllabus, so a tutor should teach from those books and the council's specimen papers rather than an NCERT plan.
Families in Sectors 4 and 5 should give sector, street and quarter number and say which end of the street they live on. In Kohka, say whether the home is in the housing board colony or the older part, then add the block and house number, so the first after-school lesson starts on time.
By the Class 10 board year, a Bhilai child should have five drawing and writing habits fixed. Ray diagrams carry arrowheads, circuits use standard symbols, body systems are labelled with correct spelling, equations are balanced and heredity crosses are written in full. These habits earn marks on CGBSE, CBSE and ICSE papers alike, so the tutor should keep returning to them.
