Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Most children in Bhilai write their maths papers for one of two bodies: the Chhattisgarh board, whose High School paper even has a unit on banking and taxation, or CBSE, whose Class 10 paper comes in two levels. A few follow CISCE or an international course. Each paper rewards a slightly different way of setting out working, so the right maths tutor for the family in Sector 6 may be the wrong one for the cousin in Smriti Nagar. Send NXTutors the class, the board and your street or colony, and you get a shortlist of two or three maths tutors who fit, each with a fee you can read before meeting. Your opening lesson is a free demo.
Two named authors stand behind the exam notes on this page. Ajay Vatsyayan covers IB, IGCSE and ISC maths; Abhinandan Tiwary covers Class 10 maths for CBSE and ICSE. The Chhattisgarh board material comes from the blueprints and teaching plan the board itself publishes on cgbse.nic.in. Find your child's row below and take the question in the last column into your first call with any tutor.
| Paper | Set by | How the marks divide | Opening question |
|---|---|---|---|
| High School (Class 10) mathematics | Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) | Written paper of 75 and a project of 25, each passed on its own | Have you worked through this year's CGBSE blueprint? |
| Higher Secondary (Class 12) mathematics | CGBSE | Written paper of 80 and 20 for the project | How many months will you give calculus? |
| Class 10 mathematics (two levels) | CBSE | 80 in the board exam; 20 assessed in school | Standard or Basic for my child, and on what evidence? |
| Class 12 mathematics | CBSE | 80 marks over 38 questions, none optional; 20 internal | Which chapters will you start with? |
| ICSE (Class 10), ISC (Class 12) | CISCE | 80 on paper; 20 from internal assessment or projects | Which year's CISCE syllabus are you following? |
| IB Diploma, Cambridge IGCSE | IB, Cambridge | IB: exam papers plus a maths exploration. IGCSE: two tiers | Which course or tier have you taught lately? |
The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, known in Hindi as Chhattisgarh Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal, has its head office in Raipur and conducts the High School examination at the end of Class 10. Durg district, which includes Bhilai, comes under the board's divisional office at Rajnandgaon. For 2026-27 its mathematics blueprint gives every unit a fixed share of the 75-mark written paper, and this is not a copy of any other board's course:
| Unit | Marks | How a tutor should use it |
|---|---|---|
| Algebra | 20 | The biggest block, so it gets a slot every week from the first month |
| Geometry | 12 | Figures drawn neatly before any reason is written |
| Trigonometry | 10 | Ratios and identities learnt as a set, then tested cold |
| Coordinate geometry; mensuration | 8 each | A formula sheet the student writes and keeps revising |
| Commercial mathematics (banking and taxation) | 7 | New to families from other boards; worked examples on interest and tax with every step shown |
| Statistics | 6 | Clean tables, because one wrong column spoils the answer |
| Proof of mathematical statements | 4 | Short, but the logic must be written out in order |
The board's blueprints and teaching plan are published in Hindi. A child who writes the paper in Hindi should practise with the board's own Hindi terms, even if a tutor explains a method in English first. Our Chhattisgarh board tutors in Bhilai page covers the other subjects.
The same blueprint fixes the shape of the paper: nineteen questions for 75 marks. Question 1 holds fifteen one-mark parts. Then come five questions of 2 marks, five of 3, five of 4 and three of 5. Put another way, the eight longest answers carry 35 marks, almost half the paper, and that is where an unprepared child runs short of time.
The board also states the balance it wants. By difficulty, 30% of the marks are easy, 50% average and 20% hard. By kind of thinking, knowledge takes a fifth, understanding and application a quarter each, and analysis, evaluation and creative questions a tenth each. A tutor can use this to explain your child's marks honestly. A student who does well on the one-mark parts but drops the application questions needs mixed problem sets; a student who knows every method but loses easy marks needs short recall drills twice a week.
The 25 marks outside the paper are not a formality, because the project has its own pass mark of 8, just as the written paper needs 25. The board's 2026-27 plan splits them like this:
A tutor should not write the record. What a tutor can do is keep it moving month by month, check that each write-up has all its parts, and run a mock viva before the school's date.
CBSE's 2026-27 Class 10 course groups 14 NCERT chapters into seven units, and the paper's design is unchanged from last session. By unit, algebra brings 20 marks, geometry 15, trigonometry with heights and distances 12, statistics with probability 11, mensuration 10, and real numbers and coordinate geometry 6 apiece.
Section A holds twenty one-mark items, 18 of them multiple-choice and 2 assertion–reason. B has five 2-mark questions, C six 3-mark ones, D four 5-mark ones and E three 4-mark case studies. No calculator is allowed, and π is 22/7 unless a question says otherwise. The two levels share every chapter; what changes is depth. Remembering and understanding make up roughly 54% of a Standard paper and roughly 75% of a Basic one, so keep Standard if maths in Class 11 is still possible. CBSE also runs an optional second Class 10 sitting where a student can try to raise marks in as many as three subjects, maths included; take its dates only from cbse.gov.in. The Class 10 maths preparation guide, the board-year planner, the Class 10 maths tutor page and our CBSE tutors in Bhilai page go further.
On the Chhattisgarh board, a science student takes physics and chemistry with biology or mathematics, and can add the other as an extra subject. The Class 12 mathematics paper is 80 written marks and 20 for the project, with pass marks of 26 and 7. Its blueprint gives calculus 36 of the 80, vectors and three-dimensional geometry 14, and matrices and determinants 10. The question plan runs fifteen one-mark parts, six questions of 2 marks, seven of 3, three of 4 and four of 5.
CBSE's Class 12 paper also leans on calculus, at 35 of 80, across 38 compulsory questions. Either way, the tutor's year should be planned around three jobs:
In the 2026 JEE Main Paper 1, maths had 25 questions: 20 with options and 5 needing a numerical answer, each scored +4 if right and −1 if wrong. Check the next pattern on jeemain.nta.nic.in. See the Class 12 calculus and algebra guide, the JEE maths topic-wise guide, our JEE home tutors in Bhilai page and the Class 12 maths tutor page.
Few local teachers handle these courses, so name the course in the first line of your request. Pairing an online specialist with a nearby tutor for weekly practice often works.
Bhilai addresses follow two patterns: numbered streets and quarters in the township sectors, and lanes and colonies around the G. E. Road and Junwani Road. A clear address saves a confused phone call at the gate. Compare tutors by locality on our Bhilai page.
| Locality | Address to give | Tutors may come from | Settle early |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sectors 1 and 2 | Sector, street number and quarter number, plus the side of the sector | Neighbouring sectors, Supela, Sunder Nagar | Which side you live on, since street numbers repeat across the township |
| Sector 10 | Sector, street and quarter, then the nearest colony | Talpur, Pragati Nagar, the Risali side | A map pin before the first class |
| Supela | Lane or colony, house number and your turning off the G. E. Road | Nehru Nagar, Kohka, Radhika Nagar, Sector 6 | A slot straight after school or later in the evening, as the main road stays lively |
| Radhika Nagar | Lane, house number and a corner a stranger would recognise | Priyadarshini Parisar, Sector 5, Nehru Nagar East | A map pin the day before, since lanes look alike |
| Smriti Nagar | Block or lane, house number, and the turning from Junwani Road; floor for a flat | Kohka, Junwani, Nehru Nagar | One weekday kept free of tuition in the board years |
| Junwani | "Junwani, Bhilai", the colony or lane, and a known turning | Both the Bhilai and the Durg side | Whether the tutor can stay through Class 11 and Class 12 |
The zone guides for the township sectors, Supela and Nehru Nagar and Smriti Nagar and Kohka add local detail, and the Bhilai home tuition guide covers every part of the city.
Choose this week's school chapter for the demo, so you see ordinary teaching rather than a polished show, and put the latest marked test where the tutor can reach it. Four signs are worth noting:
If it does not feel right, ask us for a demo with the next name on the list, and a later switch costs nothing either. Our checklist for the demo class lists more points.
A tutor at the same desk sees the faulty line as it appears on paper. That helps young children most, along with geometry, proofs and Hindi-medium students whose written terms need watching. A screen lesson makes sense when the specialist you want lives on the far side of the city, for ISC or IB, or when a senior student's evenings are crowded. Splitting the week, one lesson at home and one on screen, is a sensible pattern to try. Compare the two in home tutor or online tutor, or see online tuition in Bhilai.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor fixes their own rate. Before choosing, ask which board and class they taught last year, how often they would come in the months before the board exam, and whether a lesson can move online in test weeks. You see every fee before the demo; the Bhilai home tuition fees guide has more to ask.
Send five things: the class; the full name of the course (CGBSE, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE); your sector and street, or colony and landmark; the free days and times; and a fee range. Back comes a list of two or three maths tutors with fees, and you pick one for a free demo. When no one suitable can reach you at that time, we propose an online or mixed plan. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). NXTutors has its office in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India. Read the national maths home tutor page, compare maths tutors in Raipur or the wider Raipur page, and for science in Bhilai see physics and science.

For 2026-27 the CGBSE Class 10 maths blueprint gives algebra 20 of the 75 written marks, geometry 12 and trigonometry 10. Coordinate geometry and mensuration carry 8 each, commercial mathematics 7, statistics 6 and proof of mathematical statements 4. A Bhilai tutor should plan the weeks in that order of weight.
Commercial mathematics is a 7-mark unit on banking and taxation in the CGBSE Class 10 maths blueprint for 2026-27. It surprises families arriving from other boards, so a Bhilai tutor should work through interest and tax examples with every step written, just as the examiner expects to see them.
The CGBSE Class 10 maths paper has nineteen questions for 75 marks. Question 1 holds fifteen one-mark parts, followed by five questions each of 2, 3 and 4 marks and three of 5. The eight longest answers carry 35 marks, so timed practice on them matters most.
The 25 CGBSE maths project marks need a record of at least three projects and a questionnaire, worth 20, plus a viva worth 5. One project must be on the environment, and the part has its own pass mark of 8. A tutor may guide and check the record but must not write it.
A Bhilai Class 12 CGBSE maths student should give calculus the most hours, because it carries 36 of the 80 written marks in the 2026-27 blueprint. Vectors and three-dimensional geometry follow with 14, and matrices and determinants with 10. The project adds 20, with pass marks of 26 and 7.
A Bhilai CBSE Class 10 student who may want maths in Class 11 should take Standard. Both levels cover the same 14 chapters for 80 board marks, but about 54% of Standard marks test remembering and understanding, against about 75% in Basic, so Standard asks for more application.
A maths tutor finds a Bhilai home easily when the address is complete. In Sectors 1 and 2 give sector, street and quarter number plus your side of the sector. In Supela add your turning off the G. E. Road, and in Junwani write "Junwani, Bhilai" so a tutor from Durg does not go astray.
Home maths lessons suit Bhilai children whose wrong steps need catching as they are written: younger pupils, students working on geometry and proof, and Hindi-medium students whose terms need checking. Online suits a specialist on the far side of the city or an ISC or IB course. One of each weekly is a sensible mix.
