Bhilai Home Tuition Guide: Township Sectors, Supela, Kohka, Vaishali Nagar, Risali and Bhilai-3

By NXTutors Academic Team 11 min read

Bhilai is in Durg district of Chhattisgarh, and with its twin city Durg it forms one urban area. The modern city grew from a planned township whose foundation was laid under a 1955 agreement between India and the Soviet Union; it became a municipal corporation in 1998. Three municipal corporations now run the wider city: Bhilai, Risali and Bhilai Charoda. For a family seeking a tutor, that history matters mainly in the address. Below are six zones and nineteen localities, with address and timing notes.

How Bhilai addresses work for a tutor

The first visit depends on the address you send. Bhilai uses three address styles:

  • Township style: sector, street number, quarter number. Street numbers repeat across sectors, so the sector always comes first.
  • Colony style: colony name, block or lane, house number, and a turning from a main road such as the G. E. Road, Junwani Road or Umda Road.
  • Corporation-area style: on the Risali and Bhilai-3 sides, the corporation area name at the start of the address, then the colony, so nobody heads to the township by mistake.

Township Sectors

The planned heart of the city, laid out as numbered sectors of quarters along numbered streets. The municipal corporation still names one of its five zones Sector 06. With the sectors side by side, the pool of nearby tutors is wider than any single sector.

Sectors 1 and 2: listed close to the Great Eastern Road, Supela, Sunder Nagar and Nandini Road. Send sector, street and quarter number, and say which side of the sector you are on. A tutor from Supela can usually reach you as easily as one from the next sector.

Sectors 4 and 5: in the middle of the township, near Sector 6, Sector 10 and Radhika Nagar. Add which end of the street your quarter is on. Families here often want one tutor who covers the middle classes and then stays on into Class 10.

Sector 6: with Radhika Nagar, Sector 5, Supela and Sector 10 close by, tutors from any of them can come without a long ride. Give the street and quarter number and anything on the street a newcomer would notice.

Sector 10: at the township's edge, where it meets Talpur, Pragati Nagar and the Risali side. Write the sector address first, then the colony you are nearest to. A map pin before the first class helps a tutor coming from Risali.

Supela and Nehru Nagar

The central belt along the G. E. Road. The office of Bhilai Municipal Corporation stands on that road at Supela. The main road stays busy into the evening, so families here tend to choose a class straight after school or a later slot once the road settles.

Supela: family homes mixed with shops along the main road. Give the lane or colony, the house number and the turning you take from the G. E. Road, and say if your door is behind a shop front. Nehru Nagar, Kohka and Sector 6 are close neighbours, which widens the choice of tutors.

Nehru Nagar: a settled residential area that names zone 1 of the corporation, with an eastern part often written as Nehru Nagar East. Say which part you live in before the block and house number. Smriti Nagar, Pushpak Nagar and Radhika Nagar border it.

Radhika Nagar: mostly residential, between the township and Supela, with Priyadarshini Parisar and Sector 5 around it. Lanes can look alike to a first-time visitor, so share a map pin the day before the demo.

Smriti Nagar and Kohka

Three areas tied together by Junwani Road on the Durg side of the city. Tutors move easily between them, and some from Durg may come too.

Smriti Nagar: near Nehru Nagar, Kohka, Pushpak Nagar and Shivaji Nagar. Give the block or lane, house number and the nearest turning from Junwani Road. If you live in a building with flats, add the floor and the name at the entrance.

Kohka: includes a housing board colony often listed on its own as Kohka Housing Board, close to Supela, Vaishali Nagar and Sunder Nagar. Say whether you are in the housing board colony or the older part of Kohka.

Junwani: along Junwani Road, near Kohka and Smriti Nagar, and close enough to the twin city that some listings place it under Durg. Write "Junwani, Bhilai" in the address so a tutor from Durg does not head the wrong way.

Vaishali Nagar and Kurud

A residential belt between the G. E. Road and the road towards Jamul, a separate municipality within the same urban area. The colonies sit close together, but exact addresses matter.

Vaishali Nagar: names zone 2 of the corporation and covers a wide area, near Sunder Nagar, Jawahar Nagar and Kohka. Give the block, the house number and whether you are nearer Supela or Kurud.

Kurud: near Kailash Nagar, Jawahar Nagar and the road towards Jamul and Nandini Road. Some lanes run long, so say which end you live on and send a map pin before the first visit.

Kailash Nagar: borders Jawahar Nagar, Kurud, Sunder Nagar and Vaishali Nagar. Nearby colonies have similar names, so write the colony name exactly as it appears on your gate.

Risali and Maitri Kunj

Risali has its own municipal corporation with 40 wards, yet families treat it as part of the same city. Sector 10 of the township lies close by, so families here can draw on tutors from the sectors as well as from Risali's own colonies.

Risali: the name covers a wide area, with neighbours such as Awadhpuri, Pragati Nagar, Dhanora, Maitri Nagar and Ispat Nagar. Tell the tutor the exact colony or sector inside Risali and a turning from the main road.

Maitri Kunj: close to Gandhi Nagar, Ashish Nagar, Pragati Nagar, Talpur and Borsi. Give the block or lane and the corner of the colony a visitor would recognise; tutors from the neighbouring colonies can often reach you easily.

Ashish Nagar: has a separately named western part, Ashish Nagar West, with Pragati Nagar, Maitri Kunj and Awadhpuri next door. Say which of the two you live in before the lane and house number.

Bhilai-3 and Charoda

The old Bhilai side, in the north of the city, run by the Bhilai-Charoda municipal corporation. It was formed as a municipal council in 2000 and became a corporation in 2015, with its office at Bhilai-3. Sitting a little apart from the township, this side often relies on a nearby tutor, with an online class for a senior subject.

Bhilai-3: known locally as old Bhilai; Vasundhara Nagar is one of its colonies. Write "Bhilai-3" at the start of the address, then the colony, lane and house number. Tutors in Charoda and Padum Nagar live close by.

Charoda: an industrial and residential area known for its large railway marshalling yard, with homes spread across several colonies. Name the colony and lane, and mention Padum Nagar or Bhilai-3 if you live close to either.

Padum Nagar: a residential colony near Charoda, Shanti Nagar and Umda Road. Give the turning from Umda Road and share a map pin for the first visit.

Boards and subjects in Bhilai

Most Bhilai schools follow the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE, Chhattisgarh Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal) or CBSE. CGBSE, headquartered in Raipur, conducts the High School (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations, and Durg district falls under its Rajnandgaon divisional office. Its only official website is cgbse.nic.in; use it for notices, timetables and results.

Two board patterns come up often across the city. Siblings at different schools may follow different boards, so ask whether one tutor can handle both. And some families move from one board to another after Class 8 or Class 10; a tutor who knows both syllabi can point out which topics to strengthen before the move.

Making the weekly slot hold

Three habits keep classes steady across Bhilai:

  • Look close first. In the township, a tutor in the next sector is often the easiest match. On the Bhilai-3 and Risali sides, a tutor from the same corporation area usually keeps time better than one crossing the city.
  • Fit the school day. Younger children often do well with a slot soon after school; senior students may prefer a later class after their own revision.
  • Agree the exam weeks early. Decide at the start whether school test weeks and board months bring an extra class, a moved class or a revision-only class.

Home, online or both

Younger children, and students who focus better with someone beside them, usually gain most from a teacher who comes home. Online lessons open the door to a specialist elsewhere in the city, in Raipur or in another state, and to slots late in the evening. You can add an online tutor for Bhilai students to a home plan whenever a subject needs it. Our post on home tuition fees in Bhilai covers what the paid hour should include, and home tutor or online tutor weighs the two formats.

How NXTutors can help

Send us your child's class, board and subjects with your Bhilai locality, written in the address style you use. Our shortlist holds two or three matched tutors: those living nearest first, then others in your zone and across the city, and online tutors from anywhere in India if the subject calls for it. Fees are visible on each profile ahead of the demo. Your first class with every tutor costs nothing, and moving to a different tutor later is free too. Each tutor who joins goes through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete; how we check tutors explains the steps.

Open home tutors in Bhilai to begin, take the demo class checklist into the first lesson, and book a free demo class. Teachers living in the city will find open requests from families on tuition jobs in Bhilai; joining is free.

Frequently asked questions

Which parts of Bhilai does this home tuition guide cover?

This guide covers nineteen Bhilai localities, grouped into six zones. They are Township Sectors, Supela and Nehru Nagar, Smriti Nagar and Kohka, Vaishali Nagar and Kurud, Risali and Maitri Kunj, and Bhilai-3 and Charoda. Every locality name opens a page of its own, with address notes, neighbouring colonies and nearby tutor profiles.

How should we write a township address for a home tutor in Bhilai?

Write a township address as sector, street number and quarter number, in that order. Street numbers repeat across sectors, so the sector must come first. Add which end of the street you are on, and in Sector 10 name the neighbouring colony you are nearest to, such as Talpur or Pragati Nagar.

Can a tutor from Durg teach a student in Bhilai?

Yes, a tutor from Durg can teach a Bhilai student when the ride suits a weekly slot. This is most practical on the Junwani Road side, where Junwani, Kohka and Smriti Nagar sit close to the twin city. Write "Junwani, Bhilai" in the address so a tutor from Durg knows exactly where to come.

Which boards do Bhilai home tutors teach?

Bhilai home tutors on NXTutors mostly teach CGBSE and CBSE, the two boards most schools in the city follow. When you send a request, mention the board, class and medium so we shortlist tutors who teach it. For ICSE, ISC or another board, we include online tutors from across India if no suitable home tutor lives nearby.

What if no home tutor lives near us in Bhilai-3 or Charoda?

If no home tutor lives near you in Bhilai-3 or Charoda, NXTutors widens the search step by step. It looks across your zone, then the rest of Bhilai, then online tutors from across India. Many families on this side keep a nearby tutor for regular subjects and add an online specialist for one senior subject. Every new tutor starts with a free demo class.

How does NXTutors check the tutors it suggests in Bhilai?

Each Bhilai tutor on NXTutors goes through an ID check when joining; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete. Your request brings two or three matched tutors with their fees on view before the demo. Trying each one costs nothing, since the first class is a free demo, and you can switch tutor later for free.
