What home tuition costs in Faridabad

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Example only, not a quote: one subject, one-hour classes, 4 weeks a month. Your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
Classes a week Classes a month At ₹800 an hour At ₹2,500 an hour
2 8 ₹6,400 a month ₹20,000 a month
3 12 ₹9,600 a month ₹30,000 a month

Why one-to-one home tuition costs more than group coaching

In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Home tuition in Faridabad: a parent's guide from NIT to Neharpar

Faridabad is three cities in one. At its heart sit the old town and NIT, the industrial township built after Partition, with houses and floors on busy, narrow lanes. Around them, on both sides of Mathura Road, stretch the planned HSVP sectors with wider roads, parks and a Violet Line station every few sectors. To the west the land rises into the Aravalli hills around Surajkund, and to the east, across the Agra canal, Greater Faridabad (locals say Neharpar) is a newer belt of gated towers with no metro of its own. Each one changes how a tutor travels to you and when a lesson can start.

How does NXTutors choose tutors for a Faridabad family?

Tell us the class, the board (and for HBSE, the medium), the subjects, your sector or colony, the evenings that are free, whether you want lessons at home, online or a mix, and the budget you have in mind. We come back with two or three tutors who fit. Every one of them shows a fee up front, and your first lesson with the tutor you choose is a free demo. In Faridabad we look hardest at four things:

  • Which side of the canal? A tutor who teaches in Sectors 15 to 19 may never cross into Sectors 81 to 89. We begin with tutors already working on your side of the Agra canal.
  • How close is the Violet Line? Eleven stations run down Mathura Road from Sarai to Ballabhgarh, so a tutor living on the line can come without a vehicle.
  • Lane, floor or tower? In NIT and the plotted sectors the tutor walks up to the door; in the Neharpar societies and on the Surajkund side, security wants a name first.
  • What exactly is the exam? Board and class are matched together: HBSE Class 10 Maths in Hindi and ISC Physics call for very different people.

The demo is a normal lesson on the topic the student is doing this week. If it does not click, we arrange the next tutor, and changing tutor later costs nothing either.

Faridabad, zone by zone

Faridabad's tutor list on this page draws on our tutor profiles, and 60 sectors and colonies have their own page, which lists tutors in that area first, then others from the same zone, then online tutors. For planning home lessons we divide the city into seven zones, running from the old centre down Mathura Road and then across the canal: NIT and Old Faridabad, the central sectors on Mathura Road, Sectors 28–31 and 37, Surajkund and Sainik Colony, Ballabhgarh and the southern sectors, and Greater Faridabad in two parts, Sectors 75–80 and Sectors 81–89. These are our own groupings for travel and housing, not municipal boundaries.

NIT and Old Faridabad: the city's first streets

Old Faridabad is the historic core of a town founded in 1607 to guard the road between Delhi and Agra, and it is still dense and lived-in: independent houses, builder floors and plots among traditional markets and roadside shops. NIT, the New Industrial Township, is younger. In 1949 about 30,000 people displaced by Partition were housed in camps near the old town, and a cooperative organised them to build the township themselves; within three years it was a working industrial town. Today NIT is split into numbered parts such as NIT 1, 2, 3 and 5, with houses and floors on older lanes, long-running local markets and workshops. Jawahar Colony, beside NIT 5 and close to the main railway line, is closely built with houses and small flats, and Dabua Colony, inside Sector 50, is an affordable colony next to Old and New Janta Colony, with its own sabzi mandi as the daily market.

Nothing here has a society gate, so the tutor comes straight to the house, but lanes are tight and parking by the markets is scarce. A two-wheeler, or the metro and a short auto ride, beats a car. Old Faridabad station stands in Sector 16A on Mathura Road, Bata Chowk and Neelam Chowk Ajronda sit at NIT's edges, and Faridabad railway station is in Sector 20A. The crossing over the railway line and the market roads slow down in the evening, so an early after-school slot holds best.

The central sectors on Mathura Road: planned plots and a station every few sectors

As the city grew, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (now HSVP) laid out numbered sectors along Mathura Road, and the central ones are mostly plotted: independent houses and builder floors on wide internal roads, with a few apartment buildings. Several have a station on their doorstep. Sector 15A contains Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Sector 16A contains Old Faridabad, Sector 12 has Bata Chowk, and Sector 19, mostly builder floors with many renting families, sits right beside Badkhal Mor. Sector 16 has roomy houses, a community centre and a busy market; Sector 17 is among the more upmarket sectors, with villas, houses and a few gated societies; Sector 18 is mid-income houses and rental floors; and Sector 14 and Sector 15 centre on their own markets. Further south, Sector 10 is largely the Housing Board Colony in lettered blocks and pockets, while Sector 9, Sector 11, Sector 7 and Sector 8 are quieter plotted sectors with parks, close to Escorts Mujesar and Sihi. Towards Badkhal, Sectors 21A, 21B and 21D mix houses, floors and some flats, and Sector 21C stretches along the Surajkund–Badkhal road.

For a tutor this is the simplest part of Faridabad: take the Violet Line, finish with a short walk or auto ride, and knock. The exceptions are the apartment blocks in Sectors 12, 17 and 21C, where the tutor's name goes to security before the first class. Mathura Road, the Badkhal flyover and the market roads in Sectors 15 and 16 are at their worst in the evening rush, so start before it or after it.

Sectors 28–31 and 37: the Delhi end of the line

The northern sectors sit between central Faridabad and the Badarpur border, and all five are close to a station. Sector 28 has its own stop, named after the sector, and much of its plotted housing has been rebuilt as three- and four-bedroom builder floors around a HUDA market. Sector 29 next door mixes houses and floors with some flats in gated societies. Part of Sector 30 is institutional, as the Faridabad Police Lines has its quarters, parade ground and offices there, while flats and floors fill the private blocks around it. Sector 31 holds Mewla Maharajpur station, and near it an old chhatri and well at Mewla were declared state-protected monuments in June 2018; homes here sit among shops and offices facing Mathura Road. Sector 37, on the Delhi-border edge, is green and mostly residential, with Sarai as its station and Badarpur Border just beyond.

Five stations (Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewla Maharajpur, Sector 28 and Badkhal Mor) cover this zone, so a tutor from south Delhi can be as practical as one from the next sector. Sector 37 in particular draws on both, since the train skips the queues at the Mathura Road border crossing. Office hours load the roads towards Mathura Road, so a late-afternoon or post-rush slot is steadiest.

Surajkund and Sainik Colony: the Aravalli side

West of the metro, the city climbs towards the Aravalli hills. Surajkund, a tenth-century reservoir whose name means Lake of the Sun, gives the area its identity, the Surajkund International Crafts Mela is held there every February, and upstream near Anangpur village stands an eighth-century dam built to harvest water. Sector 43, along the Surajkund–Badkhal Road at the foot of the hills, mixes a university campus and several large school campuses with builder floors and group-housing flats. Sector 45 is mid-rise apartment blocks, floors and some houses, and Sector 46 is quiet and green, with apartment complexes and plotted houses. Sector 48 is older, beside Badkhal Enclave. Sainik Colony in Sector 49 was settled largely by ex-servicemen and their families and remains a planned colony of houses, floors and plots near Badkhal Lake, while Charmwood Village, a large township near Surajkund and the Delhi border, has apartment blocks, villas and houses behind guarded gates.

The metro does not climb the hill. Tutors get off at Sector 28, NHPC Chowk, Mewla Maharajpur, Badkhal Mor or Bata Chowk and finish by auto, or come on their own two-wheeler; Charmwood Village looks instead to Badarpur Border on the Delhi side. The Surajkund–Badkhal Road fills at school and college timings, so a slightly later evening slot tends to work, and during the February mela an online session is the easy way round the traffic.

Ballabhgarh and the southern sectors: an old market town and new plots

Ballabhgarh, a tehsil of the district founded in 1739, is the old market town at Faridabad's southern end. Its housing falls into two kinds: older colonies around the main market, such as Adarsh Nagar and Chawla Colony, with houses and small floors on narrow plots, and the HSVP sectors on the bypass side, with larger plots and wider roads. Sector 2, Sector 3, along the Faridabad Bypass Road, and Sector 4 are settled plotted sectors, with authority flats and a few societies in the first two; Sector 5 is a quiet sector near Mujesar and Sihi villages. Closer to industry, Sector 22 has a busy market, and Sector 23 and Sanjay Colony is two- and three-storey floors on small plots, many rented, beside the Sarurpur industrial area. Along the Ballabhgarh–Sohna Road, Sector 55 and Sector 56 are developing, affordable plotted sectors, and Sector 57 mixes homes with industry. The newest, Sector 62, Sector 64 and Sector 65 on the Mohna Road side, combine plots and new floors with group housing.

Since November 2018 the Violet Line has ended here, with Sihi and the Ballabhgarh terminus beside Ballabhgarh railway station, where EMU trains also stop. In old-town lanes a car is awkward, so agree a pickup point or prefer a two-wheeler rider. Factory shift changes on the Sohna Road and around Sectors 22 and 57 add their own peak, so a fixed weekend or early-evening slot is easier to protect.

Greater Faridabad, Sectors 75–80: towers across the canal

The Agra canal is the line between the older city and Greater Faridabad, which most people call Neharpar. It was planned with Sectors 66 to 74 for industry and Sectors 75 to 89 for homes. The southern half starts with Sector 75, multi-storey societies and two- and three-bedroom builder floors. Sector 76 has society flats, floors and some plots, next to the industrial Sectors 72 to 74 and Neemka village, and Sector 77 runs from builder floors to large gated townships with one- to four-bedroom homes. Sector 78 is mostly one- to three-bedroom society flats. Sector 79 holds a large open-air street of shops, offices and restaurants, alongside apartments and houses, and Sector 80, near Badauli village, is two- and three-bedroom societies on wide sector roads.

Tigaon Road, the Faridabad Bypass Road and NH-148NA, the DND–Faridabad–Sohna highway, carry most traffic here; the highway crosses the canal at Sehatpur bridge. The Violet Line stays on the old-city side, so a tutor without a vehicle rides to Escorts Mujesar, Sihi or Bata Chowk and takes an auto over the canal. Almost every visit starts at a society gate. Around the Sector 79 shopping street, evenings and weekends get crowded, so a little margin helps.

Greater Faridabad, Sectors 81–89: Kheri Road and the northern belt

The northern half of Neharpar is where much of the recent housing went up. Sector 81 is dominated by gated societies, near Bathola and Kheri Khurd villages, and Sector 82 is high-rise towers, some of them affordable-housing blocks, near Budena. Sector 83, with newer complexes and a few houses, is often counted among the most developed sectors across the canal. Sector 84 is different: it is laid out in lettered blocks with their own block markets, and has plots and houses as well as apartments. Sector 85 is mostly builder apartments and affordable societies; Sector 86, close to the bypass, mixes societies, floors and some houses; and Sector 87, still developing, looks across the canal to Sectors 16 to 18. Sector 88 has a large multi-speciality hospital, opened in August 2022, among its societies and plotted developments, and Sector 89, at the northern end near Tikawali village, has newer societies.

Kheri Road is the main way back across the canal, and Sector 87 lies close to that crossing, with Sector 86 also among the nearer sectors, so tutors from the central sectors reach them most easily. Metro riders use Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk, Old Faridabad or Badkhal Mor and finish by auto or cab. The canal crossings clog in the evening, so the first few visits need extra margin. The planned FNG expressway link over the canal is not open, so do not count on it.

Which boards do Faridabad tutors teach?

Most Faridabad students follow CBSE; ICSE and ISC have a loyal following, a smaller group study for the IB or Cambridge IGCSE, and because this is Haryana, the state board matters too. We ask for the board on every request, since strength in one rarely carries over to another.

CBSE

The NCERT textbooks are the backbone of every CBSE paper, and a real share of each one now tests whether a student can use an idea, through case passages and assertion–reason items, not just recall it. A good CBSE tutor works from NCERT outward, uses the board's own sample papers and insists on neatly laid-out steps.

ICSE and ISC

CISCE's Class 10 ICSE and Class 12 ISC cover a lot of ground and expect full, organised answers. The usual struggle is keeping up with the volume, so the tutor should plan revision that touches every chapter, set timed written work, and know the prescribed literature and the project component of each subject.

IB and IGCSE

In the IB Diploma, internal assessment counts alongside the final papers, and Maths is offered as Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, at SL or HL. A tutor can guide an IA or Extended Essay but never write it. Cambridge IGCSE rewards technique: reading command words, choosing Core or Extended, and practising against mark schemes.

HBSE (Haryana Board)

The Board of School Education Haryana, usually called HBSE, conducts the state's Class 10 and Class 12 exams. Its papers follow the board's own pattern, and schools may teach in Hindi or English. Let us know the medium along with the class, and we look for a tutor who teaches HBSE students in that language.

What should a tutor work on at each stage?

Classes 1 to 8

These years are about foundations: reading with understanding, number sense, fractions and the start of algebra, and a habit of checking answers. A tutor in the room once or twice a week usually suits children of this age.

Classes 9 and 10

The jump in Maths and Science arrives in Class 9, and Class 10 leans on it heavily. By Class 10 the cycle is teach, test each chapter, then practise whole papers. For a structured plan, read our Class 10 Maths preparation guide and the Class 10 Science notes.

Classes 11 and 12

Senior school needs subject specialists, not one tutor for all. Class 11 Physics and Maths trip up most science students; Accountancy and Economics do the same in commerce. Because Class 12 and the entrance exams stand on Class 11, see our Physics strategies for Class 12 and calculus and algebra guide.

Which subjects can you find a Faridabad tutor for?

NXTutors tutors teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Computer Science, Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Hindi and Sanskrit, and several offer all-subject help for younger classes. Each profile lists the classes and boards covered. Faridabad has its own pages for maths home tutors, science home tutors, physics home tutors and chemistry home tutors. Chemistry is really three strands, numerical Physical, reaction-based Organic and NCERT-led Inorganic, as our guide to Class 12 Organic and Inorganic Chemistry shows.

Can a home tutor support JEE or NEET preparation?

A home tutor works best next to coaching, not instead of it. Three roles make the most difference:

  • Clearing the backlog. Once a week the tutor goes through the student's coaching sheets and test mistakes.
  • Joining board and entrance work. Much of Class 12 NCERT serves both, so one revision plan can do double duty.
  • Lifting the weak subject. A student solid in two subjects and shaky in one usually gains most from focused time on that one.

Both exams are run by NTA. JEE Main has two sessions in the first half of the year and is the gateway to JEE Advanced; NEET UG is held once a year, with Biology worth half the marks, so NCERT Biology deserves close reading. Always check dates in that year's official bulletin. We have subject plans for JEE Maths, JEE Physics, JEE Chemistry and NEET Biology from NCERT, and a Gurugram piece on coaching or a home tutor for JEE that holds here too. When coaching runs late, a tutor who lives near a Violet Line station can often still make an evening session; in Neharpar, online doubt sessions are usually the workable choice.

Should a Faridabad student learn at home or online?

Home lessons suit young children and any subject where a tutor needs to watch the working, like Maths and Chemistry numericals. Online lessons widen the pool, which matters for IB, IGCSE and senior specialist subjects. Three pieces of Faridabad's transport tip the balance:

  • The Violet Line, 2015. On 6 September 2015 the line opened from Badarpur Border to Escorts Mujesar, with nine Faridabad stations from Sarai southwards. Near one of them, tutors from south Delhi and all along Mathura Road are within reach.
  • The Ballabhgarh extension, 2018. On 19 November 2018 two more stations opened, Sihi and the Ballabhgarh terminus beside the railway station, bringing the southern sectors onto the same line.
  • The Agra canal crossings. Greater Faridabad has no station, and every trip from the old city crosses the canal, by crossings such as Kheri Road or the Sehatpur bridge on NH-148NA. Those crossings slow in the evening, so a tutor who lives in Neharpar, or an online session, often works better than a long cross-canal commute.

A common rhythm is one lesson at home each week and one or two online sessions for doubts and tests, all with the same tutor. Our home versus online tutor comparison lays out the pros and cons.

How much does home tuition cost in Faridabad?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor decides their own fee, and three factors shift it:

  • The class and the board. Lessons for younger children usually cost less than senior-class or international-board work.
  • How specialised the teaching is. Entrance-level Physics and Maths, IB Higher Level and help with an IA or Extended Essay sit at the top.
  • The journey. Crossing the Agra canal or riding Mathura Road at rush hour may be reflected in the fee; a tutor from your own sector rarely adds anything.

You see each shortlisted tutor's fee before the demo, and we never suggest anyone above your budget. For figures by class and subject, open the pricing guide or read home tuition fees in Faridabad.

How do you decide at the demo class?

A good profile puts a tutor on your list; the demo tells you whether to keep them. Watch for five signs:

  1. A quick check of level. Did they ask a few questions before teaching anything?
  2. The student working. Was your child solving, or mostly listening?
  3. Knowledge of the paper. Can they say how your board sets this year's exam?
  4. A few weeks mapped out. What comes next, and how will progress be measured?
  5. A journey that works. Where are they coming from, by what, and at what time?

In a Neharpar or Surajkund society, clear the tutor with security before the demo; in NIT or a plotted sector, send the house number, a landmark and a map pin. Keep lessons in a shared room with an adult at home. If the demo is not right, the next one is arranged. Our checklist for the demo class and article on picking a board and stream can help.

When should tuition start in the school year?

The CBSE session opens in April, and a board-exam year tends to follow this shape:

  • April to June: the easiest start, with a new syllabus and the summer break for patching old weaknesses.
  • July to September: steady teaching next to school, with chapter tests and, in many schools, first-term exams near September.
  • October to December: the syllabus is completed; many schools hold pre-boards around the new year.
  • January to March: practice papers, revision and the boards themselves; the first JEE Main session usually lands here.
  • April to May: the second JEE Main session, JEE Advanced and NEET UG usually follow, while IB and Cambridge candidates sit the May series.

Check official notices for exact dates. Starting in spring gives the tutor a full year; starting in winter is still worthwhile, with the weight on papers and exam technique.

How do you begin in Faridabad?

Start from your area in the list above, look through all tutors or book a free demo class. If no home tutor is close enough yet, online tutoring is available across India, and a hybrid plan means lessons can begin right away.
