Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Class 9 has no board exam, which is exactly why it gets underrated. On CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE it is the first half of a two-year course, and the chapters learnt now return in the Class 10 paper. Maths takes a sharp step into proof and abstraction; science splits into physics, chemistry and biology with numericals and equations. This page is written by Abhinandan Tiwary, our Class 9 and 10 maths author for CBSE and ICSE, and Aaditya Kashyap, our CBSE and ICSE science author. It explains what each board does with Class 9, how to read the early warning signs, how to plan the year, and how to bring a tutor to your sector without fighting Mathura Road or the canal bridges.
Two reasons. First, the board syllabus is designed across Classes 9 and 10 together, so a weak Class 9 chapter on polynomials, coordinate geometry, motion or atoms reappears as a weak Class 10 chapter, with less time to fix it. Second, the habits that carry a student through a board year, timed practice, full working, revising from one's own mistakes, are easiest to build when nothing external is at stake. A tutor in Class 9 is an investment in a calmer Class 10; a tutor hired in the January of Class 10 is a rescue.
| Board | How Class 9 works | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE (most students in the city) | First year of a composite Class 9–10 course, assessed by the school; NCERT's new Class 9 books are Ganita Manjari for maths and Exploration for science | From 2026-27 maths and science run at one common standard, with an optional Advanced paper (25 marks, one hour) that the board will examine in Class 10 from 2027-28 and that does not count in the aggregate |
| Haryana Board (BSEH) | Students are enrolled and registered with the board from Class 9; the Secondary examination follows after Class 10 | Work in the school's medium from the prescribed books, and use the board's own practice material |
| ICSE (CISCE) | Two-year course; the Class 9 final exam is set by the school | Promotion needs 33% in five subjects including English and 75% attendance; subjects cannot change after 15 September of Class 9 |
| Cambridge IGCSE | A course for 14 to 16 year olds, examined at the end | Choosing Core or Extended maths (0580) with care |
| IB MYP Year 4 | Six of the eight subject groups may be taken in Years 4 and 5 | Planning ahead for the personal project in Year 5 |
The Advanced paper question is worth raising early with your CBSE school. Our CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE pages for Faridabad cover each route in more depth.
The Board of School Education Haryana, seated at Bhiwani, conducts the Secondary examination after Class 10 and the Senior Secondary after Class 12. Its notices show Class 9 is already on the board's books: students in Classes 9 to 12 are enrolled and registered with it, and Class 9 marks are uploaded to the board online. For a tutor, that suggests a clear toolkit:
Our Haryana Board tutors in Faridabad page covers the board from Class 9 to Class 12.
Any two of these by the first-term exams, often around September, are reason enough to start. Our national pages on Class 9 maths and Class 9 science list the chapters that most often go wrong.
| Period | Focus | Tutor's job |
|---|---|---|
| April to June | New session for CBSE schools; new books and a fresh routine | Check Class 8 gaps in fractions, equations and basic science; set the weekly rhythm |
| July to September | Core chapters, unit tests, first-term exams in many schools | Chapter tests every week; a mistakes notebook from day one |
| October to December | The heavier second half of the syllabus; practicals and projects | Keep pace with school; revise first-term chapters once a month |
| January to March | Annual school exam | Full-length practice under time; plan the summer before Class 10 |
ICSE, IGCSE and IB calendars differ in detail, so the tutor should take the school's own dates. What does not change is the principle: steady weekly work beats a last-month sprint.
Class 9 sessions often run into the evening, after school, a sport and sometimes a coaching batch, which is when Faridabad's roads are at their slowest. A few rules by zone:
Only if school maths and science are genuinely strong. Foundation batches move fast and assume the basics; a student still unsure of linear equations or Newton's laws gains more from a tutor who secures the school syllabus first. If your child is already scoring well and enjoys hard problems, a foundation course plus a tutor who keeps the board side on track is reasonable. Our JEE and NEET pages for Faridabad describe the later years.
Both work at this age if the tutor can see the working. Home visits suit students who need structure and supervision, or who struggle to stay focused on a screen. Online suits a motivated student, a specific subject such as IGCSE physics, or a family whose ideal tutor lives on the far side of the canal. Many families settle on a home session at the weekend for longer practice and one or two shorter online sessions on school nights.
The first class is free. Every tutor who joins goes through an ID check, which confirms identity, not teaching skill, so listen closely to the answers. If they disappoint, we send the next shortlisted tutor, and switching later is free too.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Class 9 quote depends on the board, the number of subjects, how much board-course teaching the tutor has done, sessions per week and the journey at your hour. Each fee appears on your shortlist before the demo; read the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Faridabad.
Sector 9 is a planned sector of houses and floors on wide internal roads, with Escorts Mujesar as its usual station, and neighbouring tutors can often walk or ride over. Sector 19 sits beside Badkhal Mor station and is mostly builder floors; share the floor number in advance. Sainik Colony in Sector 49, settled largely by ex-servicemen's families, is some way from the metro, so most tutors come by auto or their own vehicle.
Sector 22 combines homes with a busy market and industry nearby, which makes a steady evening or weekend slot easier to keep. In Neharpar, Sector 77 runs from builder floors to large gated townships, and Sector 87, close to the Kheri Road crossing, is one of the easier Greater Faridabad sectors to reach from the old city.
The year before is on Class 6 to 8 tutors in Faridabad, and the board year on Class 10 tutors in Faridabad. Send the board, medium, subjects, locality and free evenings to get two or three matched tutors with fees. Request a free demo, see tutor profiles, or open home tutors in Faridabad.
No, Class 9 is not a board exam year for Faridabad students on CBSE or ICSE; it is the first half of a two-year course examined by the school. The Haryana board's Secondary exam also comes only after Class 10. Class 9 chapters return in the board paper, so gaps left now cost marks a year later.
A Faridabad CBSE child should opt for the Advanced paper only after raising it with the school early, since it is optional and does not count in the aggregate. From 2026-27, Class 9 maths and science run at one common standard, with an optional one-hour Advanced paper of 25 marks. The board will examine it in Class 10 from 2027-28.
A Haryana board Class 9 tutor in Faridabad should teach from the prescribed textbooks in your child's medium, Hindi or English, with every exercise finished. Add the board's material on bseh.org.in: syllabus and question-paper design, a competency-based assessment guide, model papers with step-wise marking and old Secondary papers. Check current notices for changes.
No, a Faridabad ICSE student cannot change subjects after 15 September of Class 9 under the CISCE regulations for the 2028 ICSE. Promotion to Class 10 needs 33% in five subjects including English and 75% attendance. If a choice looks wrong, raise it with the school well before mid-September.
A Faridabad Class 9 student should join a foundation batch only if school maths and science are already strong, because such batches assume the basics. A student unsure of linear equations or Newton's laws gains more from a tutor who secures the school syllabus first.
A Faridabad Class 9 student likely needs a tutor if the first maths unit test falls far below Class 8 marks, or physics numericals are skipped. Other signs are chemistry equations memorised as strings of letters, answers copied from guides, and "I understood in class" without solving fresh questions. Any two by the first-term exams is reason to start.
For Class 9 evening sessions in Greater Faridabad, a tutor who lives in Neharpar is easiest, because the canal crossings and Kheri Road slow down after office hours. A specialist from the old city can come at the weekend or teach online midweek. Share your sector, society and tower so the tutor can plan the gate and route.
Both home and online tuition work for a Faridabad Class 9 student, provided the tutor can see the working. Home suits students who need structure or drift on a screen; online suits a motivated student, a subject such as IGCSE physics, or a tutor across the canal. Many families pair a weekend home session with short online ones.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Faridabad Class 9 quote depends on the board, the number of subjects, the tutor's board-course experience, sessions per week and the journey at your hour. Each fee appears on your shortlist before the free demo.
