Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Faridabad has an unusual advantage for home tuition: the Violet Line runs down Mathura Road through the heart of the city, so many sectors are a short auto ride from a station, and families in the northern sectors can draw on tutors from south Delhi as easily as from Faridabad. Across the Agra canal in Greater Faridabad, the picture changes, with large societies and no metro. Either way, the English tutor has to fit the paper first: CBSE for most students, ICSE and ISC for a loyal following, IB or IGCSE for a smaller group, and, because this is Haryana, the state board too. NXTutors shortlists two or three English tutors who fit, with fees shown first, and the first class is a free demo.
A precise request gets a precise shortlist. These six details make the biggest difference to who we suggest:
| Board | English assessment | What the tutor must know |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE | Class 10: one 80-mark paper plus 20 internal. Classes 11 and 12: English Core, 80 marks plus 20 for listening, speaking and a project | Section weights and formats; NCERT literature |
| ICSE | Two separate papers, each 2 hours and 80 marks, with 20 internal marks each | Composition, letter, notice and e-mail, summary, grammar |
| ISC | Two 3-hour papers of 80 marks, each with 20 marks of project work | Long compositions, directed writing, poetry style |
| Cambridge IGCSE | First Language English (0500) or English as a Second Language (0510) | Which entry your child has |
| IB | Language and Literature: unseen analysis, comparative essay, individual oral, HL essay | Analytical writing and oral practice |
| Haryana board (BSEH) | The Board of School Education Haryana, often called HBSE, conducts the state's Class 10 and Class 12 exams; English follows the board's own pattern, and schools may teach in Hindi or English | The board's syllabus, in your child's medium |
Haryana board families should check the current English syllabus on the board's site, bseh.org.in, and ask the tutor to work from it rather than from CBSE books. For a deeper look at every paper, see our national English home tutor guide.
Most Faridabad students follow CBSE, so the Class 10 paper is where most English tuition starts. Each block of marks calls for a different kind of practice:
Students aiming at the top grades usually lose their last marks in literature and the analytical paragraph, so those get the most time in the final months before the board exam in a well-run plan.
Many families only look for English help in Class 9 or 10, but the habits that decide board marks form earlier. A child who reads fluently, plans a paragraph before writing it and hears their own grammar mistakes arrives in Class 9 with a large head start. In these years a tutor should:
One lesson a week is usually enough at this stage, and it can be at home or online, as long as written work reaches the tutor each week.
ICSE and ISC students write more, and for longer, than CBSE students. ICSE's language paper alone includes a composition, a letter, a notice with a matching e-mail, an unseen passage of about 500 words with a summary, and grammar, all in two hours. ISC stretches that to three-hour papers with a 400 to 450 word composition. The tutor's most valuable job is timed writing with feedback, week after week. Our guides to ICSE Class 10 English and ISC Class 12 English go question by question.
For IGCSE, the first step is knowing the entry. First Language English rewards analysis of how writers use language and extended composition, with a reading paper worth half the grade; Second Language rewards accurate reading, listening and clear writing. IB students need practice analysing unseen texts and rehearsing the individual oral, and any coursework must remain their own.
Every zone has its own page with the nearest tutors; the full city is on our Faridabad page.
The central sectors on Mathura Road are among the easiest parts of the city to reach by metro: Neelam Chowk Ajronda stands inside Sector 15A, handy for Sector 15. Mathura Road and the Sector 15 and 16 markets are slowest at the evening peak. In the northern sectors, builder floors in Sector 28 often share one entrance, while Sector 29 adds some gated flats where the tutor should be registered; a south Delhi tutor on the metro is a realistic option here. Further south, in Ballabhgarh and the southern sectors, Sector 3 is a settled plotted sector, and tutors can take the line to Sihi or the Ballabhgarh terminus.
In Surajkund and Sainik Colony, no station climbs the hill. Sector 45 mixes apartment complexes, floors and houses near the green belt; agree whether the tutor comes by auto from a Violet Line stop or by two-wheeler. Across the canal, Sectors 75 to 80 are mostly societies, and Sector 77 has large gated townships where the tutor goes on the visitor list first. In Sectors 81 to 89, Sector 82 is dominated by high-rise societies, and Kheri Road and the canal crossings clog in the evening, so a tutor who lives in Neharpar is easiest to schedule.
Local guides: NIT and central Faridabad and Greater Faridabad (Neharpar).
For board students, English is one of the easiest subjects to take online: essays and letters go into a shared document, the tutor marks them during the call, and the student rewrites straight away. That makes online especially useful across the canal, where evening crossings are slow, and for ISC, IB or IGCSE specialists who may live in south Delhi or Gurugram.
Home lessons matter most at the two ends: young children learning to read, who need an adult at their side, and students who have changed medium or board and need the easy daily conversation that builds confidence. A common middle path is one home lesson for a timed paper and one online lesson for feedback.

Yes. The Board of School Education Haryana, often called HBSE, conducts the state's Class 10 and 12 exams to its own pattern, and schools may teach in Hindi or English. Tell us the class and medium, and we look for a tutor who teaches that board. Check bseh.org.in for the current syllabus.
Often, yes, especially in the northern sectors near the Delhi border. The Violet Line links Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewla Maharajpur and Sector 28 with south Delhi, so a tutor can avoid the Mathura Road queues at the border crossing. Share your sector and nearest station, and we consider tutors on both sides.
Literature, 40 of the 80 board marks, deserves the most time: answers that meet the question, refer to the text and stay in the word limit. After that come the analytical paragraph and formal letter formats, two unseen passages under time, and grammar drawn from the student's own mistakes.
Yes. Most homes there are in societies, so add the tutor to the visitor list before the demo. The metro stays on the old-city side, and Kheri Road and the canal crossings clog in the evening, so a tutor who lives in Neharpar, or a mix of home and online lessons, is easiest to keep.
Not always, but Classes 3 to 8 are when reading fluency, paragraph planning and grammar habits form, and those habits decide board marks later. If your child avoids reading, repeats the same grammar errors or struggles to organise a paragraph, one lesson a week in these years can make a real difference.
Yes. We send two or three matched English tutors with their fees, you pick one, and the first class is a free demo on your child's current work. If the fit is wrong, we arrange a demo with the next tutor on the shortlist, and switching tutor later is free as well.
