What home tuition costs in Faridabad

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

CBSE home tutors in Faridabad: Classes 6 to 12, from NIT to Neharpar

In Faridabad, CBSE is the board most students sit, from the old lanes of NIT to the towers of Greater Faridabad. That does not make every CBSE tutor right for every child. The board has reshaped Class 9 and Class 10 for the 2026-27 session, the senior classes split marks differently in each subject, and a student coming from the Haryana board brings different habits. This page covers each stage, the subjects families ask about, a sound session, travel across the city and the free demo. Abhinandan Tiwary writes on Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths and Aaditya Kashyap on CBSE and ICSE science.

CBSE in Faridabad, and how it differs from the Haryana board

CBSE is the one most students follow; ICSE and ISC keep a loyal following; a smaller group take the IB or Cambridge IGCSE; and because the city is in Haryana, the Board of School Education Haryana (HBSE) matters too. HBSE runs the state's own Class 10 and Class 12 exams to its own pattern, and its schools may teach in Hindi or in English.

The medium matters. A child who joins a CBSE school after years on the state board is not behind in ability, but the papers ask in a different way: CBSE builds every paper on the NCERT textbooks and now sets a large share of questions around a passage, a table or a real situation. If your child learned maths or science in Hindi, the technical words are often the first hurdle, and a tutor who can explain a term in both languages before moving fully to English saves weeks. Tell us the earlier board and medium with the request. Families going the other way, into an HBSE school, should ask for a tutor who teaches that board in the right medium and works from its own syllabus.

What changed for Classes 9 and 10 in 2026-27

Class 9. Maths and science are now taught to one common standard, with an 80-mark paper of three hours. Beyond that, a student may opt for Mathematics Advanced, Science Advanced, both or neither. Each Advanced paper carries 25 marks, lasts an hour and contains only higher-order questions on extra content. CBSE does not add these marks to the aggregate; a score of 50% or more earns a note on the marksheet. The older split into Basic and Standard maths is being phased out, though the Class 10 batch of 2026-27 finishes under the earlier scheme. Choose Advanced only in a subject your child already enjoys, as it adds a harder second workload.

Third language. For the transition batches, a third language (R3) is compulsory. The school assesses it and there is no board paper, yet a pass is needed for the Class 10 certificate. It seldom needs a tutor, only a fixed weekly slot.

Class 10. In major subjects, 80 marks come from the board paper and 20 from internal assessment by the school, and 33% is needed to pass a subject. Since 2026 CBSE holds two board exams. Everyone must sit the first. A student who passes may return for the second to raise marks in as many as three of science, maths, social science and the languages. We treat the first sitting as the one that counts.

Competency questions. According to the 2026-27 curriculum, roughly half of each secondary board paper is competency-focused: case-based, source-based, integrated, data-interpretation, situational and application items. A tutor should use CBSE's current sample papers and marking schemes.

Classes 11 and 12: where the marks sit

In the senior classes, each subject divides its 100 marks in its own way, and that division tells a tutor where effort pays:

  • Physics (042), Chemistry (043) and Biology (044): a 70-mark theory paper and 30 marks of practical work.
  • Mathematics (041) or Applied Mathematics (241), only one: 80 marks of theory and 20 internal.
  • Accountancy (055), Economics (030) and Business Studies (054): 80 and 20.
  • Computer Science (083) or Informatics Practices (065): 70 and 30.

The senior curriculum also says board papers will carry more questions set in real-life contexts, within the prescribed syllabus, and the Class 12 paper covers the entire Class 12 syllabus. In the sciences, practical work is nearly a third of the total. If your child is still choosing a stream, read the Class 11 stream choice guide.

Which CBSE subjects Faridabad parents usually ask about

Maths and science dominate up to Class 10, because each year leans on the last. In Classes 11 and 12 the requests split by stream: physics, chemistry and maths for science students, often alongside JEE or NEET coaching, and accountancy and economics for commerce. English and social science more often need a weekly writing routine than a full tutor.

How a sound CBSE session runs

A 75-minute class that is doing its job usually follows this shape:

  1. First ten minutes: look through the school notebook. Which NCERT questions were set, which were skipped, and what came back marked wrong.
  2. Next half hour: one chapter taught or repaired, starting from the NCERT explanation, then exemplar questions on the same idea.
  3. Twenty minutes: two or three unseen competency questions, a case passage or a data table, so the student practises spotting which concept is being tested.
  4. Last fifteen minutes: one board-style answer written in full and checked against the marking scheme for steps, units, labelled diagrams and layout.

Ask for a short log of chapters, test marks and repeated mistakes; if one error keeps returning, change the method.

Getting a CBSE tutor to your door in each part of Faridabad

For a weekly CBSE class, a slot the tutor can reach on time matters as much as distance. The Violet Line along Mathura Road does much of the work on the old-city side; across the Agra canal, it does not.

  • NIT Faridabad (NIT and Old Faridabad): no society gates, but narrow lanes and tight parking near the markets. Tutors often come by metro to Bata Chowk or Neelam Chowk Ajronda and take an auto; an early after-school slot beats the evening market crowd.
  • Sector 15 (central sectors): plotted houses on wide internal roads, so the tutor parks and walks to the door. The main market and the roads towards Neelam Chowk fill up later, so start before the rush.
  • Sector 28 (Sectors 28–31 and 37): the sector has its own Violet Line station, which brings in tutors from south Delhi as well. Rebuilt builder floors often share an entrance, so give the floor number and which bell to ring.
  • Sector 46 (Surajkund and Sainik Colony): the metro stops short, so the last leg is an auto from Sector 28 or the tutor's own vehicle. Apartment complexes log visitors at the gate.
  • Ballabhgarh (Ballabhgarh and the southern sectors): the Violet Line ends beside Ballabhgarh railway station, so a tutor from central Faridabad can ride down and finish by e-rickshaw. In the old colonies a two-wheeler is easier than a car.
  • Sector 82 (Greater Faridabad, Sectors 81–89): high-rise societies across the canal, reached by Kheri Road. Metro users get off on the old-city side and continue by auto; arrange visitor entry with the society in advance.

Home or online for CBSE?

For Classes 6 to 10, home tuition usually wins, because the tutor sees the school notebook first-hand. In Neharpar, where the canal crossings slow evening travel, many families keep one home class at the weekend and move a weekday class online with the same tutor. In Classes 11 and 12, online sessions make more sense for a single hard subject, such as organic chemistry or calculus, when the right tutor lives on the other side of the city. Online maths and science only work if the tutor can watch the working as it is written, on a tablet, a shared whiteboard or a camera pointed at the notebook. Our home tutor vs online tutor post weighs the two.

Testing a CBSE tutor in the free demo

  1. This year's papers. Ask which sample paper and marking scheme they are teaching from. Anything older than the current session is a warning.
  2. An unseen case question. Give them one from the sample paper and see whether they teach your child how to read it, not just the formula at the end.
  3. The Advanced choice. For Class 9, ask whether they would advise an Advanced paper for your child, and why.
  4. Internal marks and practicals. Ask how they support projects and the practical file while leaving the work to the student.
  5. Language. If your child came from a Hindi-medium or state-board school, check that the tutor can bridge the terms comfortably.

CBSE Home Tutor in Faridabad (Classes 6–12): common questions

What sets a CBSE home tutor's fee in Faridabad?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For a CBSE student in Faridabad, the class, number of subjects, sessions per week and how far the tutor travels decide where a fee falls. Each fee is shown before the free demo.

How do I get a CBSE home tutor near my Faridabad sector?

To get a CBSE home tutor near your Faridabad sector, send the class, subjects, your sector or colony, the nearest Violet Line station and your free evenings. We shortlist two or three CBSE tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

What should a tutor focus on when a Faridabad child moves from the Haryana board to CBSE?

When a Faridabad child moves from HBSE to CBSE, a tutor should focus first on how CBSE asks questions. Its papers build on NCERT and often start from a passage, table or real situation. If your child studied in Hindi medium, a tutor who explains technical terms in both languages first, then moves to English, smooths the switch.

Should a Faridabad child choose CBSE or the Haryana board, ICSE, IB or IGCSE?

No board suits every Faridabad child; the school, the medium and later plans decide, and the tutor then matches that board. CBSE builds on NCERT, while HBSE sets its own pattern and may teach in Hindi or English. For a fuller comparison, see our CBSE, ICSE, IB or IGCSE guide.

What is the optional Advanced paper for Faridabad CBSE Class 9 students?

From 2026-27, Faridabad CBSE Class 9 students study maths and science to one common 80-mark standard and may add an Advanced paper in either or both. Each Advanced paper is 25 marks and one hour of higher-order questions. The marks do not count in the aggregate, though 50% or more earns a marksheet note.

How should a Faridabad family plan around the two CBSE Class 10 board exams?

A Faridabad family should plan for the first CBSE Class 10 board exam, which everyone must sit, as the one that counts. A student who passes may sit the second to improve up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and the languages. In major subjects, 80 marks come from the board paper and 20 from school assessment.

How are CBSE Class 11 and 12 subject marks divided for Faridabad students?

For Faridabad CBSE students in Classes 11 and 12, physics, chemistry and biology split 70 theory and 30 practical. Maths or Applied Maths, accountancy, economics and business studies split 80 and 20, while computer science or informatics practices are 70 and 30. In the sciences, practical work is nearly a third of the total.

Up to Class 10 and after it, where do Faridabad CBSE students usually want tuition?

Up to Class 10, Faridabad CBSE families most often want a tutor for maths and science, because each year builds on the last. In Classes 11 and 12, science students ask for physics, chemistry and maths, often alongside JEE or NEET coaching, and commerce students for accountancy and economics. English needs a steady writing routine.

Can a CBSE tutor travel to Greater Faridabad across the canal on weekdays?

A CBSE tutor can travel to Greater Faridabad across the canal, but evening traffic on the bridges and Kheri Road needs planning. Tutors living in Neharpar are easiest to schedule on weekdays, while one from the old city may suit a weekend class. Many families pair one home and one online session with the same tutor.

How should a 75-minute CBSE session with a Faridabad tutor run?

A 75-minute CBSE session with a Faridabad tutor should open with ten minutes on the school notebook and half an hour teaching one chapter from NCERT. Twenty minutes go on unseen competency questions, and the last fifteen on one board-style answer checked against the marking scheme. Ask for a short log of repeated mistakes.
