Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Ghaziabad, CBSE is the board most students sit, so a CBSE tutor is rarely hard to find. Finding one who is teaching to this year's papers, and who can reach your home at a time your child is fresh, takes more care. The board has reshaped Class 9 maths and science, made a third language compulsory in the transition years and given Class 10 a second board exam. This page explains those changes stage by stage, how CBSE differs from the UP Board many neighbouring families know, which subjects usually need support, and how tutors get to each part of the city. Its authors are Abhinandan Tiwary, who teaches Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths, and Aaditya Kashyap, who teaches CBSE and ICSE science.
Our Ghaziabad city guide puts it plainly: CBSE is the most common board here, ICSE and ISC have a steady following, a smaller group of families follow the IB or Cambridge IGCSE, and because the city is in Uttar Pradesh, UP Board schools matter too. For a parent, the practical upshot is choice. With CBSE this widespread, you can afford to be specific: ask for a tutor who has taught your child's exact class in the last year or two, not just "CBSE up to Class 12".
UPMSP, the state board, runs its own High School and Intermediate examinations with its own question pattern, and its schools may teach in Hindi or in English. CBSE builds its papers around the NCERT textbooks and the sample papers and marking schemes it publishes for each session. A tutor who has taught mainly UP Board students may know the content well and still need time to adjust to CBSE's style of question and its marking.
This matters most when a child changes school, and board, after Class 8 or Class 10. Tell us the old and new board and the medium of each, so the tutor's first month can close gaps in style and vocabulary.
| Stage | Who assesses the student | The usual sticking point | What to ask a tutor for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classes 6–8 | The school alone | Weak arithmetic and reading that later looks like a "Class 9 problem"; computational thinking and AI now sit inside existing subjects | Fractions, integers, early algebra, explaining an experiment in words |
| Class 9 | School annual exam (80) plus internal marks (20) | The secondary syllabus begins; the choice of optional Advanced maths or science | Secure NCERT content and an honest view on Advanced |
| Class 10 | Board paper (80) plus school internal assessment (20) | Competency questions and a full year of subjects at once | Unseen sample-paper questions, marked the way CBSE marks |
| Classes 11–12 | School in Class 11; CBSE board in Class 12 | The jump in depth, plus practical or internal marks per subject | A specialist per subject rather than one tutor for all |
Class 9 maths and science. Under the 2026-27 secondary curriculum, everyone sits a common paper of 80 marks in each. Students can add the optional Advanced level, for maths, science, both or neither: a one-hour, 25-mark paper of purely higher-order questions on additional content. Advanced marks stay out of the aggregate; reaching half of them earns a marksheet note. For a tutor, it is a second and harder brief layered on the normal one, so choose it for interest, not as a badge.
The third language. In the transition batches a third language (R3) is compulsory. The school assesses it and there is no board paper, but a pass is needed for the Class 10 certificate. It needs a fixed weekly slot more than it needs a tutor.
Two board exams in Class 10. The first exam is compulsory for every student. Those who have passed may sit a second exam to raise their marks in at most three subjects drawn from maths, science, social science and the languages. Each major subject combines 80 board marks with 20 internal marks, and 33% is needed to pass. Treat the second exam as a repair option for one bad paper; plan the year as if the first exam were the only one. CBSE also says roughly half of each secondary paper now tests competency: questions built on a case, a source, a set of data or a real situation, where a student must apply an idea rather than recall it. Our Class 10 maths preparation guide and Class 10 science notes lay out the work.
| Subject | Theory paper | Practical or internal | Typical gap a tutor closes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physics, Chemistry, Biology | 70 | 30 practical | Numericals with units, reaction logic, labelled diagrams |
| Mathematics or Applied Mathematics (one only) | 80 | 20 internal | Calculus and algebra with every line of working |
| Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies | 80 | 20 internal | Formats, diagrams, case-based answers |
The senior curriculum promises more questions set in real-life situations, still inside the prescribed syllabus, and the Class 12 board paper covers the whole Class 12 syllabus. If your child also attends entrance coaching, a board tutor's job is to make sure the practical file, the internal work and complete board-style answers are not squeezed out. See Class 12 physics strategies, and the Class 11 stream choice guide if the stream is still open.
Up to Class 10 most requests are for maths and science, where a chapter missed in one year returns as a problem in the next. In the senior classes, science students ask most for physics, chemistry and maths, and commerce students for accountancy and economics. English and social science tend to need a steady plan more than weekly tuition, unless writing is the real problem.
For a fuller account of how CBSE is structured, see our CBSE home tutors in Gurgaon page, which goes deeper into the board itself.
A good session has a rhythm. It opens with the school copy on the table: the topics taught since the last visit, the NCERT questions set as homework, and any your child quietly skipped. The middle part teaches or repairs a single chapter, starting from the textbook explanation and moving to exemplar problems and a fresh case-based question on the same idea. The last fifteen minutes are written work: two or three questions answered in full and then marked against the board's marking scheme, so your child sees where each mark comes from. In science that means units, labelled diagrams and balanced equations; in maths, no skipped steps; in accountancy, the right format.
Ask for a short monthly log of chapters, scores and repeated mistakes. If the same errors keep returning, the tuition is not working, whatever the hours say.
Because so many tutors teach CBSE, travel decides more than supply does. On the trans-Hindon side the Blue Line is the great help. Vaishali Sector 4 has the terminus of the branch inside the sector, so a tutor from East Delhi or Noida can often walk from the platform. In Shakti Khand 2, Noida Electronic City is the closest station and Vaishali the fallback, but CISF Road is slow at peak hours, so a later start holds better. Vasundhara Sector 5 has no station within walking distance; tutors usually come from Mohan Nagar on the Red Line by e-rickshaw, or ride in by scooter.
Along GT Road the Red Line takes over. In Rajendra Nagar, a plotted colony of floors and houses, the elevated line has its own station, which suits a tutor without a car, since parking in the inner lanes is tight. East of the river, Raj Nagar is mostly plotted homes where a tutor comes straight to the door; the snag is evening traffic around the District Centre and on Hapur Road, and the Guldhar Namo Bharat station on Meerut Road is the nearest rapid-transit stop. In Raj Nagar Extension, nearly every visit begins at a society gate, so put the tutor on the visitor list before the demo; the large societies mean some tutors already live in the same township. Zone by zone detail is on the Vaishali and Kaushambi, Sahibabad and Rajendra Nagar and Raj Nagar Extension and NH-9 zone pages, and in our Raj Nagar and old Ghaziabad guide.
For most CBSE students in Ghaziabad, home tuition is easy to arrange, and it suits younger children and any subject where a tutor needs to watch the pen: maths, physics numericals, chemistry equations. Online sessions earn their place in three cases: a Class 11 or 12 specialist who lives on the other bank of the Hindon, a student whose coaching timetable leaves only late slots, and quick doubt sessions before a test. Many families pair one home class with a shorter online session, same tutor. Online, the tutor must see your child's working live. Our home versus online tutor comparison covers the rest.
Every request brings two or three matched tutors, each fee is visible before the demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check. More questions to ask are in our parents' demo checklist.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For CBSE in Ghaziabad, the class, the number of subjects, how often you want sessions and how far the tutor travels at your slot shape the figure. For budgeting, see our pricing guide and the post on tuition fees in Ghaziabad.

In style, yes. UPMSP sets its own High School and Intermediate papers with its own pattern, and lessons may be in Hindi or English. CBSE works from NCERT books and its own sample papers and marking schemes. A child switching boards usually needs a few weeks of help adjusting to the new question style and vocabulary.
Only if your child enjoys that subject and is already comfortable in it. From 2026-27, the Advanced paper is optional, worth 25 marks, lasts one hour and contains only higher-order questions. Its marks are not added to the aggregate, though clearing half of them is noted on the marksheet. It adds real extra work.
The first board exam is compulsory for everyone. A student who has passed can take the second exam to improve marks in up to three subjects from maths, science, social science and the languages. Treat it as a repair option for one paper that went badly, not as a second attempt at the whole year.
Maths and science up to Class 10, because each year builds on the one before. In Classes 11 and 12, physics, chemistry and maths for science students, and accountancy and economics for commerce students. English and social science usually need a steady weekly plan rather than tuition, unless written answers are the real weakness.
Yes, though most homes there are in gated societies, so add the tutor to the visitor list before the demo. The larger townships often have tutors living inside them, which avoids the highway junctions at office hours. For a senior specialist subject, one home class and one online session with the same tutor works well.
Across NXTutors most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour, with Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET toward the upper end.
