Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Nothing in Classes 6 to 8 carries a board certificate, which is exactly why these years get neglected. Yet this is when maths turns abstract, science starts asking why rather than what, and a child is expected to study from a textbook instead of from the teacher's notes. Students who leave Class 8 with secure algebra, a habit of reading a chapter before the test and the ability to write a clear three-line answer usually handle Class 9 well. Those who do not tend to discover the gap in the first unit test of Class 9, when there is less time to fix it. This page is written by Aaditya Kashyap, our CBSE and ICSE science author, with the NXTutors Academic Team. It covers what changes after primary school, how each board treats these years, the usual weak points, how much help to give with projects, and how tutors reach each part of Ghaziabad.
Three things change at once. First, subjects split: maths, science, social science, two or three languages, and in many schools computing, each with its own teacher and its own tests. Second, the content moves from concrete to abstract: letters stand for numbers, a diagram stands for a process inside a plant, a map stands for a climate. Third, the child is expected to manage the work alone, keep notebooks in order and revise without being reminded.
A middle-school tutor's real job is to bridge that third change. A tutor who explains every chapter afresh, every week, keeps the child dependent. A tutor who teaches the child how to read a chapter, make a short note and test themselves builds the skill Class 9 demands.
Our Ghaziabad city guide names CBSE as the city's most common board, with ICSE, the IB and Cambridge also taught and UP Board schools present. The middle years look different on each.
| Board | From the official documents | Where a tutor helps |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE | Three languages (R1, R2, R3), at least two of them native to India, with R3 compulsory from Class VI from 2026-27; computational thinking and AI for Classes III to VIII; NCERT's newer books Ganita Prakash for maths and Curiosity for science | Activity-led NCERT chapters still need written practice; the third language needs steady vocabulary work |
| ICSE schools | CISCE leaves Classes I to VIII to books chosen by the school; a third language from at least Class V to VIII, examined internally | Find out which books the school uses; ICSE-style long answers can be practised early |
| IB MYP | Ages 11 to 16 over five years, eight subject groups, at least 50 teaching hours per group each year; a community project for students finishing in Year 3 or 4 | Criterion-based tasks and research; guidance on the project, never writing it |
| Cambridge Lower Secondary | Typically ages 11 to 14, with optional Checkpoint tests | Stage objectives in English, maths and science; Checkpoint practice only if the school enters students |
| UP Board schools | The board registers students in advance in Class 9; its Class 9 list includes Hindi, English, Sanskrit, maths, science, social science and computer | Follow the school's books now, and in Class 8 preview the Class 9 syllabus on upmsp.edu.in |
For a CBSE student, the board's own explanation of these changes is covered in more depth on our CBSE home tutors in Ghaziabad page; ICSE families can see ICSE tutors in Ghaziabad.
| Weak point | How it shows | What a tutor should do |
|---|---|---|
| Integers and negative numbers | Sign errors in every later algebra sum | Number-line work until the rules feel obvious, then mixed drills |
| Fractions, ratio and percentage | Word problems abandoned halfway | Link the three ideas with real prices and recipes; one method, practised |
| Algebraic expressions and simple equations | Moving terms across without knowing why | Balance-scale reasoning, then neat line-by-line working |
| Geometry and constructions | Untidy diagrams and missing reasons | Compass and ruler practice; stating a reason for each step |
| Science explanations | Definitions memorised, but no answer to "why" | Small home experiments, labelled diagrams and cause-and-effect sentences |
| Reading load in social science | Long chapters skimmed and forgotten | Short notes, timelines and map work each week |
| Third language | Vocabulary and grammar slipping between tests | Ten minutes of regular practice beats a weekly hour |
By the middle of Class 8 a good tutor is doing less explaining and more checking. If your child still needs every chapter taught from scratch at that point, raise it in the next conversation with the tutor. Our science and maths pages for Ghaziabad describe subject help in more detail.
Middle school brings models, charts, surveys and activity files. The line is simple: the tutor can help choose a topic, plan the steps, explain the science behind a model and check the final write-up for errors. The child does the cutting, building, writing and presenting. Teachers can tell when an adult made a project, and a child who did not make it learns nothing from it. For IB MYP students, the community project has its own rules on what help is allowed; ask the school's coordinator, and expect a tutor to stay within them.
By Class 6 most children have later school hours and more activities, so tuition shifts to early evening, which in Ghaziabad is when the main roads are at their slowest.
| Zone | How tutors usually arrive | Hour to choose |
|---|---|---|
| Sahibabad and Rajendra Nagar | Red Line along GT Road, with Mohan Nagar and Rajendra Nagar stations among the closest | Late afternoon, before the factory and office shift change |
| Surya Nagar and Ramprastha | From neighbouring colonies or East Delhi, finishing by auto | A fixed after-school slot clear of office hours |
| Raj Nagar, Kavi Nagar and Old Ghaziabad | By road inside the old city; Shaheed Sthal for metro users | Before or after the Hapur Road rush |
| Raj Nagar Extension and NH-9 | Often from inside the same township; otherwise by road | Away from the evening peak at the highway junctions |
| Indirapuram, Vaishali and Vasundhara | Blue Line, then e-rickshaw or scooter | After the office rush on the border roads |
Both can work at this age, and the choice depends on the child more than the subject. A child who drifts on a screen, or who needs someone to watch a construction or a long division, does better with a tutor at the table. A child who is organised and simply needs explanations and practice can do well online, which also widens the choice for an MYP or Cambridge tutor. A common Ghaziabad pattern is one visit at the weekend plus one short online session midweek. Read our home versus online tutoring article before you decide.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Middle-school quotes usually fall in the lower to middle part of that range. An all-subject tutor may charge differently from a maths or science specialist, MYP or Cambridge experience tends to cost more, and a long evening trip across the city adds to it. Fees are shown before the demo. See our pricing guide and home tuition fees in Ghaziabad.
In Mohan Nagar, one of the busiest Red Line stations doubles as a transfer point for autos and buses, so tutors reach it easily; the market area crowds at shift and office hours. Pasonda, near Rajendra Nagar and Shalimar Garden, has narrow plotted lanes where a landmark in the booking saves time. Further west, Brij Vihar has floors along Brij Vihar Road, reached through Dilshad Garden or Vaishali.
East of the Hindon, Kavi Nagar has lettered blocks of floors, houses and villas, with New Ghaziabad railway station the closest rail point, and Govindpuram, on Hapur Road, sits far enough from the metro that a tutor from the colony itself is the practical choice. Along NH-9, Vijay Nagar mixes plotted older sectors with newer apartment blocks.
The stages either side are covered on primary tutors in Ghaziabad and Class 9 tutors in Ghaziabad. Send the class, board, subjects, your colony and open slots; two or three matched tutors come back with fees and the first class is a free demo. A Ghaziabad child in Class 6 to 8 does not always need a tutor when marks look fine, since gaps can still grow under good marks. Algebra, fractions and science explanations are the usual hidden gaps. If your child can explain why a method works and studies without prompting, a tutor is optional.
Class 6 to 8 students in Ghaziabad usually lose marks on integers and signs, fractions and percentages, simple equations, geometry reasons and science answers to why. Social science reading and third-language vocabulary also slip. A tutor fixes these with number-line work, balance-scale reasoning, labelled diagrams and ten minutes of daily language practice.
Before Class 9, a Ghaziabad student should read the chapter before the test, show working in maths and keep a weekly plan they write and check. Self-testing beats re-reading, and a separate mistakes notebook helps before each test. By mid-Class 8 a good tutor explains less and checks more.
CBSE Class 6 students in Ghaziabad follow a three-language framework, R1, R2 and R3, with at least two languages native to India and R3 compulsory from Class VI from 2026-27. Ask the school which language your child takes as R3. Steady vocabulary work suits it better than a weekly hour.
In a Ghaziabad UP Board school, Class 8 tuition should prepare for Class 9, when the board registers students in advance. Its Class 9 subjects include Hindi, English, Sanskrit, maths, science, social science and computer. Follow the school's books, then preview the Class 9 syllabus files on upmsp.edu.in in your child's medium.
In Class 6, one Ghaziabad tutor for most subjects can work well, but by Class 8 maths and science usually need someone who knows how Class 9 builds on them. Languages and social science may need less time. Many families keep one subject specialist and handle the rest at home.
A Ghaziabad tutor can help a Class 6 to 8 child choose a project topic, plan the steps, explain the science and check the write-up. The child should do the building, writing and presenting. For IB MYP students, the community project has its own rules on help, so ask the coordinator.
Class 6 to 8 lessons in Ghaziabad can work online for an organised child who needs explanations and practice, and online widens the choice of MYP or Cambridge tutors. A child who drifts on screens, or needs constructions watched, does better at home. One weekend visit plus a short midweek online session is a common blend.
