Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Ghaziabad, two Class 10 students living on the same lane can be sitting very different examinations. One writes CBSE papers with a second sitting available to improve marks; another takes the UP Board's High School examination, with its OMR section and its 30 marks earned in school; a third sits ICSE or IGCSE. Chapters overlap, but question styles, timing and the way marks are split do not, so a tutor who is excellent for one can be mismatched for another. This guide is by Abhinandan Tiwary, who writes on Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths for us, and Aaditya Kashyap, who writes on CBSE and ICSE science. It covers what each paper demands, which subjects most need support, how to shape the year and the week, how tutors reach your colony or society, and how to use the free demo.
Our Ghaziabad city guide names CBSE as the board most local students take. In its major subjects the board paper carries 80 marks and internal assessment the other 20, and the pass mark is 33% in each subject. Around half of each paper is competency-focused, meaning case studies, source passages and questions that ask a student to use an idea in an unfamiliar setting. For the 2026-27 batch, three points matter:
Treat the second sitting as insurance only. A tutor should prepare for the first exam as if it were the only one. For subject-level depth, see our CBSE home tutors in Ghaziabad page and the Class 10 maths preparation guide.
Ghaziabad is in Uttar Pradesh, and the state's Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad holds the High School examination at the end of Class 10. It prescribes the courses and textbooks and publishes its syllabus files and model papers on upmsp.edu.in. For the 2026-27 session, those files describe maths and science like this:
| Feature | Maths (928) | Science (931) |
|---|---|---|
| Written paper | 70 marks, 3 hours 15 minutes, the first 15 minutes for reading | 70 marks, 3 hours 15 minutes |
| Objective section | Section A: 20 one-mark multiple-choice questions on an OMR sheet | Section A: one-mark multiple-choice questions on OMR |
| Written answers | Section B: 50 marks in five questions, from very short to long | Section B: descriptive, in three sub-sections, each begun on a new page |
| Marks earned in school | 30, internal assessment with project work | 30, practical examination |
| To pass | 23 in the paper and 10 in the school component | 23 and 10 |
So a High School tutor must train two separate skills: fast, careful OMR answers, where the model paper forbids cutting, erasing or whitener, and full written working for Section B. The school component has its own minimum, so projects and practical records cannot be left to the last week. The model papers we read on the site are in Hindi; an English-medium student should confirm with the school how the paper is provided. Our UP Board tutors in Ghaziabad page covers the board in full.
| Route | How maths is assessed | What the tutor stresses |
|---|---|---|
| ICSE (CISCE) | One 3-hour paper of 80 marks plus 20 internal | Complete working, neat layout, the full syllabus revised, not just favourite chapters |
| Cambridge IGCSE 0580 | Core (grades C to G) or Extended (A* to E) | The right tier, command words and past papers with mark schemes |
| Pearson Edexcel International GCSE 4MA1 | Foundation (grades 5 to 1) or Higher (9 to 4) | Tier choice and timed papers; grade boundaries are the board's, not the tutor's |
Specialists for these routes are fewer in any one part of Ghaziabad, so a mix of home and online lessons is common. See ICSE and IGCSE tutors in Ghaziabad.
| Subject | Why students struggle | Usual help |
|---|---|---|
| Maths | Trigonometry, quadratics and word problems; careless steps cost marks | Two sessions a week through the year |
| Science | Physics numericals, chemical equations, biology diagrams and long answers | One or two a week; more before practicals |
| English | Writing tasks and literature answers that miss the question | One a week, or a short block before exams |
| Social science | Volume of reading and map work | A few weeks of revision support |
| Hindi or Sanskrit | Grammar and composition, especially for English-medium students | A short block if marks lag |
Our maths and science pages for Ghaziabad, and the Class 10 science notes, go deeper.
Our city guide describes the usual rhythm in Ghaziabad's CBSE schools: the session opens in April; July to September brings regular teaching, chapter tests and first-term exams in many schools; October to December finishes the syllabus, with pre-boards often falling around the new year; and January to March is sample papers, revision and the boards. A tutor's plan fits around that:
UP Board students should also check progress against the board's month-wise syllabus.
School, homework, maybe a coaching batch, sport and sleep all compete. Two rules help. Keep tuition on fixed days, so the week has a shape the student can plan around. And use each session for the hard part, practising problems and reviewing mistakes, rather than for re-hearing the lesson. A ninety-minute weekend session for full papers plus one weekday hour for doubts works for many families; online for the weekday slot saves the tutor a peak-hour trip.
| Zone | Likely route | Delay to plan around |
|---|---|---|
| Sahibabad and Rajendra Nagar | Red Line, or Namo Bharat to Sahibabad, then a walk or e-rickshaw | GT Road shift changes; tight parking |
| Surya Nagar and Ramprastha | Local tutors, or metro to Dilshad Garden or Kaushambi and an auto | Border roads at office hours |
| Raj Nagar, Kavi Nagar and Old Ghaziabad | Shaheed Sthal, the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station or Guldhar, then an auto | Hapur Road, Meerut Mod, District Centre lanes |
| Raj Nagar Extension and NH-9 | By road, the Hindon Elevated Road, or Guldhar for Raj Nagar Extension | Highway junctions; gate entry |
| Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara | Blue Line, then e-rickshaw or scooter | Kala Pathar Road, CISF Road, the Vaishali roundabout |
Maths and science in Class 10 depend on watching working, so many families keep at least one session a week at home. Online helps in three Ghaziabad situations: the right ICSE or IGCSE specialist lives far away, the tutor would cross the Hindon or GT Road at peak hour, or the student is back late from coaching. A camera above the notebook is essential for online maths. Our home versus online comparison helps you decide.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Board-year quotes vary with the board, the number of subjects, the tutor's experience with that paper, the trip to your home and how many sessions you book. IGCSE specialists usually charge more. Fees are visible before the demo; see the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Ghaziabad.
Sahibabad has the Red Line along GT Road, Sahibabad Junction and its own Namo Bharat station, so tutors can reach most lanes by train and e-rickshaw. At the border, Shaheed Nagar sits beside the first Ghaziabad stop on the Red Line, and in Chander Nagar, Link Road and Dr Bhabha Marg run past plotted floors with no gate to clear.
East of the river, Patel Nagar has the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station in its second part, and Raj Nagar has numbered sectors around its District Centre, where roads crowd in the evening. North of it, Raj Nagar Extension is mainly high-rise societies; add the tutor to the visitor list before the demo.

Yes. From 2026, the first CBSE Class 10 board exam is compulsory and a second sitting is optional, for students who want to improve marks in up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and languages. The 2027 dates had not been announced when this was written, so watch cbse.gov.in for notices.
The board's 2026-27 files describe a 70-mark paper of 3 hours 15 minutes, with 15 minutes to read. Section A has 20 one-mark multiple-choice questions answered on OMR; Section B carries 50 marks in five questions. A further 30 marks come from school work, and a student needs 23 and 10 to pass.
For the 2026-27 Class 10 batch the choice still exists. Standard suits students who may take maths in Class 11; Basic suits those who will not. Confirm which version the school has registered, and make sure the tutor practises only from that version's sample papers and question style.
Yes. For ICSE we look for tutors who know CISCE papers and insist on full working. For IGCSE we match the exact syllabus and tier, such as Cambridge 0580 Core or Extended, or Edexcel Foundation or Higher. These specialists may live some distance away, so a mix of home and online lessons is common.
April is ideal, as CBSE schools begin the session then and the early months leave room to repair Class 9 gaps. Booking after the first-term exams still helps. Starting after the pre-boards is late for rebuilding foundations, but a tutor can still sharpen timing, presentation and past-paper technique before the boards.
Often, if your child is only a little behind in each and the tutor is confident in both. If one subject is well behind, or you are aiming for top marks, a specialist for that subject usually works better. Ask the tutor to teach a short piece of each subject during the free demo.

Class 10 quotes depend on the board, the number of subjects, the tutor's board-year experience, the trip to your colony and how often you book; IGCSE specialists usually sit higher.
