What home tuition costs in Noida

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Class 10 home tutors in Noida: CBSE boards, UP Board High School, ICSE and IGCSE

Class 10 is the first year in which a Noida student sits an exam set outside the school. For most it is the CBSE board, now with a second sitting available for improvement; for others it is the UP Board's High School examination, the ICSE, or IGCSE papers. The subjects look similar on paper, but the question styles, internal marks and calendars are not, so the tutor must know the paper your child will actually write. The page is written by Abhinandan Tiwary, our Class 10 maths author for CBSE and ICSE, and Aaditya Kashyap, our CBSE and ICSE science author. It sets out what each route demands, where a tutor adds most, how to shape the year and the week, how tutors reach each part of Noida, and how to test a tutor in the free demo.

How does the CBSE Class 10 year work now?

In the main subjects, CBSE splits marks into an 80-mark board paper and 20 marks of internal assessment, and a student needs 33% in a subject to pass it. Roughly half of each paper is competency-focused: case-based, source-based and application questions that reward understanding rather than recall. Three points matter for the 2026-27 board year:

  • Maths Standard or Basic still applies to this batch. CBSE is replacing the split with a common course and an optional Advanced paper, but the current Class 10 students keep the old choice. Confirm which one your child is registered for.
  • There are two board exams. Since 2026, the first exam is compulsory, and a second, optional exam lets a student try to improve in up to three subjects drawn from science, maths, social science and languages.
  • Dates for 2027 had not been announced when this page was written. Plan by stage, not by a guessed date, and check cbse.gov.in.

The second exam changes how some families think about the final term, but it is a safety net, not a plan. A tutor should aim to get the first sitting right. Our CBSE tutors in Noida page goes further, and our CBSE Class 10 maths preparation article works through the chapters one by one.

What should a UP Board High School tutor know?

The High School examination is conducted by the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, the board set up in 1921 at Prayagraj, which prescribes the courses and textbooks its schools use. Class 10 subjects on its syllabus list include Hindi or Elementary Hindi, English, Sanskrit, maths, science, social science, commerce and computer. For a tutor, that translates into a few working rules:

  1. Teach from the prescribed books in the student's medium, and finish every exercise in them.
  2. Use the board's own practice material. Model papers for Class 10 subjects are on upmsp.edu.in, and they show how the board words its questions better than any guide book.
  3. Follow the month-wise syllabus. The board's academic calendar spreads each subject across the months, which is a ready-made checklist for staying on pace.
  4. Take every rule from the board. Paper patterns, internal assessment and the compartment examination are notified on the board's site; check the current notices rather than last year's notes.

Our UP Board tutors in Noida page covers the board across classes.

How do ICSE and IGCSE compare?

ICSE and the international Class 10 routes: what a tutor plans around
RouteHow maths is examinedChoice to get rightWhere marks go
ICSE (CISCE)One three-hour paper worth 80, with 20 internal marks shared between the teacher and an external examinerCovering the full syllabus in timeMissing steps and unread chapters
Cambridge IGCSE maths 0580All marks come from exam papers, some allowing a calculator and some notThe tier: Core covers grades C to G and Extended A* to E; candidates in India can also sit in MarchA tier that caps the grade too low
Pearson Edexcel International GCSE mathsExam papers onlyThe tier: Foundation awards 5 down to 1, Higher 9 down to 4A tier that does not match the student

Which subjects deserve a tutor in Class 10?

On all four routes, maths and science are where tuition pays back most: both build chapter on chapter, and both lose marks for skipped working. For the rest, a lighter touch usually does:

Class 10 subjects and the right amount of help
SubjectWhen a tutor is worth itOtherwise
MathsClass 9 algebra or geometry is weak, or marks vanish in working rather than ideasWeekly timed practice from the board's papers
SciencePhysics numericals, chemical equations or biology diagrams keep costing marksA chapter-test routine and a list of definitions
EnglishAnswer formats and literature answers are thinA handful of sessions on writing formats
Social scienceRarely; only when far behindA reading and map routine
Hindi or SanskritGrammar and writing have slipped for a long timeA fixed weekly self-study slot

A single tutor for maths and science is fine when each is a little behind. Where one subject is badly behind, or your child is aiming for a very high score, pay for a subject specialist instead. See maths and science home tutors in Noida, and our Class 10 science notes.

How should the Class 10 year be shaped?

CBSE schools start in April, and most Noida schools follow a similar year. A rough shape that works on every board:

  1. April to June: collect the syllabus and current paper pattern for each subject, fix Class 9 gaps and use the summer break to get ahead.
  2. July to September: steady teaching with a test every week and a mistakes notebook; first-term exams often fall around September.
  3. October to December: finish the syllabus, complete internal and practical work, and begin single-subject timed papers before the pre-boards around the turn of the year.
  4. January to March: complete papers in exam conditions, then nothing new: only the error log and the board's published timetable.

Starting in April gives a tutor room to fix habits as well as chapters. Starting after the pre-boards still helps with timing and presentation, but there is no longer time to rebuild foundations.

Fitting a tutor into a crowded Class 10 week

Many Class 10 students in Noida already attend a coaching batch or group class, and some spend a long time in a van or car. Before adding a home tutor, write out the week hour by hour, travel included, and then:

  • Protect an hour a day for self-study; practice is where marks are made.
  • Choose coaching-free days for the tutor, at home or online, to avoid a second trip.
  • Ask the tutor to work on whatever chapter the class or batch is doing that week, written in board style.
  • Leave one evening empty, and from December treat a full night's sleep as part of revision.

Home or online in the board year?

A tutor at your table is ideal for long maths and science answers, because every step is visible. Going online opens up tutors from further away, useful when an ICSE or IGCSE specialist lives across the city, and it saves the journey on evenings when the expressway or Vikas Marg is at a standstill. Online maths only works if the tutor can watch the page being written, via a stylus tablet, a shared board or a phone over the notebook. A pattern many Noida families like is a weekend session at home with a longer stretch of written practice, and a shorter online one midweek.

Using the free demo in a board year

You pay nothing for the first class. Spend it checking that the tutor really knows your child's exam:

  • The paper. For CBSE, ask about the 20 internal marks, Standard versus Basic and the second exam; for the UP Board, where the tutor gets model papers and the current pattern; for IGCSE, the tier.
  • A recent test. Give the tutor a marked paper and see whether they can say exactly where and why marks were lost.
  • Marking. Did the tutor check each step, or only the answer?
  • An unseen question from your child's book: watch whether it is taught or merely solved.
  • A written plan that schedules full-length papers ahead of the pre-boards.

Not convinced? We line up another shortlisted tutor for a separate demo, and a change later in the year is free. Every tutor who signs up completes an ID check before the profile is marked Verified to parents. More ideas are in our demo class checklist.

Class 10 tuition fees in Noida

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Class 10 quote rises or falls with the board, how many subjects are taught, how much board-year teaching the tutor has done, the journey at your slot and the weekly frequency. Rates are set by tutors and listed on your shortlist ahead of the demo. Read the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Noida.

Where we match Class 10 tutors in Noida

Sector 25 is largely a planned housing-board colony of flats, first built for armed-forces families, so give security the tutor's name before the first class. In Sector 30, houses on authority plots are laid out in lettered blocks, and a landmark such as the nearest block market helps a new tutor. Sector 48, on Dadri Main Road near Baraula, was planned for low-density housing, and most tutors arrive by road.

Most of Sector 73 is Sarfabad village, where a tutor on a two-wheeler from Sector 72 or 74 handles the lanes best. Sector 110 mixes gated societies, houses and villas, and tutors can come by inner roads from Sector 82, 105 or 108 or by metro to NSEZ. Further along the Expressway, Sector 144 has its own Aqua Line station, which makes a tutor from along the line a realistic choice.

The year before is covered on Class 9 tutors in Noida, and the step after on Class 11 tutors in Noida. Send the board, medium, subjects, your sector and the slots that are open, and two or three matched tutors come back with fees. Class 10 Home Tutor in Noida: common questions

How do I get a Class 10 home tutor in Noida?

To get a Class 10 home tutor in Noida, send NXTutors the board, medium, subjects, your sector and the slots that are open. Two or three matched tutors come back with fees shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and if you are not convinced we line up another shortlisted tutor; a change later in the year is free.

Does CBSE Class 10 now have two board exams?

Yes, since 2026 CBSE Class 10 has a compulsory first board exam and an optional second sitting to improve marks in up to three subjects. The subjects come from science, maths, social science and languages. Dates for 2027 had not been announced when this was written, so check cbse.gov.in and plan by stage, not by a guessed date.

Does the 2026-27 CBSE Class 10 batch still choose Maths Standard or Basic?

Yes, the 2026-27 CBSE Class 10 batch keeps the Maths Standard or Basic choice, while later batches move to a common course with an optional Advanced paper. Confirm with the school which maths your child is registered for, and make sure the tutor practises from papers for that version.

How are CBSE Class 10 marks split, and what is the pass mark?

In the main CBSE Class 10 subjects, marks split into an 80-mark board paper and 20 marks of internal assessment, and a student needs 33% to pass. Roughly half of each paper is competency-focused, with case-based, source-based and application questions. A tutor should practise these from the board's sample papers rather than rely on recall.

Who conducts the UP Board High School exam for Noida students?

The UP Board High School exam is conducted by the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, set up in 1921 with its head office in Prayagraj. It prescribes courses and textbooks for its schools. A Noida tutor should teach from the prescribed books in the student's medium and use the model papers and month-wise syllabus on upmsp.edu.in.

Can one home tutor teach Class 10 maths and science together?

Often, yes: one Class 10 tutor can cover maths and science when your child is only a little behind in each and the tutor handles both confidently. When one subject is badly behind, or your child is aiming for a very high score, a specialist in that subject is the stronger choice. Ask for one chapter of each in the free demo.

When should a Noida family start Class 10 home tuition?

April is the ideal start for Class 10 home tuition in Noida, as CBSE schools begin the session then and most Noida schools follow a similar year. Early months leave room to mend Class 9 gaps before first-term exams around September. Starting after the pre-boards still helps with timing and presentation, but foundations can no longer be rebuilt.

Can a Class 10 student in Noida get an ICSE or IGCSE home tutor?

Yes, Class 10 ICSE and IGCSE students in Noida are matched on the exact paper they will write, not only the school year. ICSE maths is one three-hour, 80-mark paper with 20 internal marks; IGCSE 0580 has Core, covering grades C to G, and Extended, covering A* to E. Such specialists may live far from your sector, so mixing home and online lessons often works.

Is home tuition or a coaching batch better for a Class 10 CBSE student in Noida?

Home tuition usually suits a Class 10 CBSE student in Noida better for maths and science, because a tutor at the table sees every step of a long answer. If your child already attends a coaching batch, write out the week first, protect an hour a day for self-study, and book the tutor on coaching-free days so there is no second trip.

Does online tuition work for Class 10 maths in Noida?

Online Class 10 maths in Noida works only if the tutor can watch the page being written, through a stylus tablet, a shared board or a phone over the notebook. It opens up specialists from across the city and saves the journey when the expressway or Vikas Marg is at a standstill. Many families pair a weekend home session with a shorter online one midweek.

What does a Class 10 home tutor charge in Noida?

A Class 10 home tutor in Noida sets their own rate, and NXTutors lists each tutor's fee on your shortlist before the demo. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For Class 10, the board, number of subjects, board-year experience, the trip to your sector and weekly frequency move the quote.
