Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. Whichever of Sector 17's three housing blocks you live in, a tutor can come to your home or teach online. Send NXTutors the class, board, subject and your block, and we suggest two or three matched tutors with the fee for each. The first class is a free demo, and you can change tutor later for free.
Sector 17 is in the Old Noida zone of Noida, right beside the Sector 18 market. Its blocks each have their own entry, which is the first thing to tell a tutor.
| Point | Sector 17 |
|---|---|
| Zone | Old Noida, next to the Sector 18 market |
| Layout | Three blocks with separate entry and exit: a bungalow block, BHEL Township and the NDDB Housing Complex |
| Housing | Large independent houses; G+3 flats and some villas in BHEL Township; around a hundred NDDB staff flats |
| Metro | Noida Sector 16 (Blue Line) about 750 m away; Noida Sector 18 about 1.2 km |
| Roads | Captain Vijayant Thapar Marg, Tulsi Marg and the Rajnigandha Underpass |
| Bus stops | Atta Peer and Rajnigandha Chowk |
| Neighbours | Sectors 16, 18, 19 and 27 |
| Modes | Home, online, or a mix |
Sector 17 was allotted in the 1980s, and it is not one neighbourhood but three. A Noida locality guide describes three blocks, each with its own entry and exit.
NoBroker also lists the NDDB residential complex and BHEL transit flats among the sector's landmarks. Reviewers there describe Sector 17 as calm and spacious, with more room than newer sectors, and good for families and long-term living.
Two of the three blocks are employer housing, and that has a practical side for tuition.
Reviews of Sector 17 on property portals are fairly positive, with a few repeated concerns. Each has a tuition meaning.
And the questions every parent asks remain: will this tutor stay for the whole year, do they understand my child's board, and should a senior subject be taught at home or online?
Sector 17 has no station inside it, but two are close. NoBroker puts Noida Sector 16 station about 750 m away and Noida Sector 18 about 1.2 km away. Both are elevated Blue Line stations on Captain Vijayant Thapar Marg, the road that runs along the sector's edge on OpenStreetMap. Sector 16 is the stop after Sector 15 coming from Delhi; Sector 18 is the stop after that, sitting above the Sector 18 market and opposite Atta Market.
For a tutor who uses the metro, that is a short walk from either station. Tutors from East Delhi, from Sectors 14 and 15, or from the Noida City Centre side of the Blue Line can all come in this way. Botanical Garden, two stops further on, connects to the Magenta Line for tutors from South Delhi.
By road, OpenStreetMap shows Captain Vijayant Thapar Marg, Tulsi Marg and the Rajnigandha Underpass at the sector's edges, with Sector 19 and Sector 27 alongside. A tutor from Sector 19 or 16 has a short local trip. One coming through Rajnigandha Chowk in the evening meets the market traffic.
Buses stop at Atta Peer and Rajnigandha Chowk, according to a local guide.
When you send the address, include all three: the block (bungalow block, BHEL Township or NDDB complex), the house or flat number, and which entry to use. Sending a tutor to the wrong block entry is the most common first-visit delay in a sector laid out like this.
Because each block has its own entry, the routine depends on where you live.
Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check: they confirm phone or email with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID, and the team reviews the ID before a badge is shown. It is not a police or background check, so meet the tutor at the demo and decide for yourself. See how tutor ID checks work.
Sector 17 families mainly ask for CBSE help, with ICSE and ISC next. Families who arrive on a transfer sometimes bring a child from a different board, or move between CBSE and ICSE schools, and want a tutor who can bridge the two syllabuses in the first term.
In a compact flat, the board changes the books on the table more than the setting. Ask the tutor to work from the school's own syllabus and test papers, and to flag early if a chapter was never taught at the old school. For a full side-by-side, read our guide to choosing a board, or see ICSE tutors at home in Noida.
Short lessons of 45 minutes to an hour suit this age. In BHEL Township, playgrounds inside the colony mean children are often outdoors in the late afternoon; a lesson after they come in, washed and fed, gets more attention than one squeezed in before play.
Maths and Science with one tutor is the usual start. For a child who joined after a transfer, the first month goes into finding gaps. Ask the tutor for a short note every two weeks on what is improving. Science home tutors in Noida covers this stage in more depth.
Two or three lessons a week of about 90 minutes is common. Build the plan around school tests and the board's sample papers. With the Sector 18 market so close, keep the lesson time away from the household's shopping hour so the study room stays quiet.
Most families take one tutor per subject. Two metro stations within walking distance mean a senior Physics, Chemistry or Accountancy teacher from further along the Blue Line can still come home. Our Class 12 home tuition in Noida page has more on planning these years.
For JEE or NEET, many students combine a home tutor for school subjects with an online specialist, so the evenings are not overloaded.
If your family moves into BHEL or NDDB housing partway through the school year, start tuition in the first fortnight rather than waiting for the first test. Ask the new school for its syllabus and the chapters already covered, and give the tutor both lists. A tutor who sees the gap early can close it in a few weeks; one who finds it after a poor test has less time. The same applies in reverse: if a transfer out is likely before the board year, tell the tutor, so they can plan revision that travels with your child.
Board exams for CBSE, ICSE and ISC fall early in the year; timetables appear on cbse.gov.in and cisce.org. In the final months, swap new content for timed papers and keep one lesson a week for doubts. Winter is when air quality and short days affect evening travel, so agree in November which lessons can move online if needed.
A home tutor is often the easier choice in Sector 17: two stations nearby widen the pool of tutors, and the block entries make visits orderly once the guard knows the tutor.
Online lessons skip the evening market traffic around Rajnigandha Chowk and suit specialist subjects or a tutor from another city who taught your child before a transfer. See online tuition across Noida.
A coaching centre is reachable by metro from Sector 17, but late classes mean a walk home from Sector 16 or 18 station after dark. A common pattern here: home lessons for school subjects, and a centre or online batch kept for a single entrance-exam subject.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own rate, and you see it on the shortlist before booking the demo.
The class, board and subject set the base; the number and length of weekly lessons decide the month. A tutor who walks in from Sector 16 station has a light trip, while one who drives through Rajnigandha Chowk in the evening may ask for longer lessons on fewer days. Settle how missed lessons, festival weeks and pre-exam extras are charged before the first month.
We could not find a public library inside Sector 17. The bungalow block's central park and BHEL Township's playgrounds are for breaks, not desk work. A Noida public library is listed in Sector 15's D Block, two metro stops away; check its hours before relying on it. For most students, a quiet table at home is the realistic study space.

AI-first tutoring, with real teachers
You tell us the class, board, subject and where in Sector 17 you live. Our AI does the slow part of the search and returns two or three tutors who fit, not a long list to scroll. You see each tutor's fee before the free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Where AI stops and people start
Move out to the wider area or in to nearby sectors. Tutors usually travel short distances, so the closest areas are the most useful places to look.
Distances are straight-line estimates between sector centres from OpenStreetMap data; the road route is usually longer.

Science tuition for Sector 17 can be as broad or as narrow as you need. A Class 8 child may want a single tutor for all of Science, while a Class 12 student may need separate help for Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
This page is part of our Old Noida zone, and its glance table names Sector 11, Sector 12, Sector 14 and Sector 14A. Tutors who live in Sector 17 or travel to it appear first, then tutors from other parts of Old Noida and the wider city, then home tutors in Faridabad or Greater Noida, and finally online teachers, starting with Uttar Pradesh.
For ICSE or ISC students, say the board and class when you ask. For IB, give the subjects and the level of each one your child studies. Then use the first class, a free demo, to see how the tutor explains a topic your child finds hard, and whether your child asks questions freely. Ask the tutor how they would prepare for school tests and how you will hear about progress each month. If two children at home need Science help, mention both in one request.
