Sector 20 is part of the Old Noida zone in Noida. It lies along the road to the DND, about 2 km from Rajnigandha Chowk, with Sector 16 metro station the nearest stop. Below: the housing, the trip in, timing, boards, class stages and fees.

Sector 20 was allotted by the Noida Authority in the 1980s, and it shows the Authority's mixed planning of that decade. Noida Business Guide describes seven blocks holding plots that start at small EWS sizes and go up to bungalow plots, alongside Janta, LIG and MIG flats built as ground-plus-one buildings. So a single lane can hold a large kothi, a row of small plotted homes and a block of two-storey flats.
Property portals list independent houses, builder floors and flats from 1 RK to large houses for sale and rent, with 2 and 3 BHK homes in the highest demand according to Square Yards. NoBroker reviewers describe the sector as calm and family-friendly, close to hospitals, markets and daily needs, with strong demand from both renters and buyers.
A few things in Sector 20 are worth knowing for tuition:
Sector 20 also holds the police station on Amaltash Marg, which Noida Business Guide lists as the station for Sectors 19 and 21 as well, and the Noida power house run by UPPCL. Square Yards reports a 33/11 kV substation here that hosts one of UPPCL's power grievance help desks. These, plus the Atta Market at the border, are the easiest landmarks to give a new tutor.
Reviews of Sector 20 on NoBroker and Square Yards point to a few recurring themes. Each one has a straightforward tuition answer.
The questions after that are about the teaching itself: whether the tutor knows the child's board, whether a slot can stay fixed through the year, and whether a Class 9 or 10 student should study at home or online. Those come next.
Sector 20 has no metro station of its own. The nearest is Noida Sector 16 on the Blue Line, which NoBroker puts about 1.7 km away; Noida Sector 15 is about 2.5 km and New Ashok Nagar, the last stop on the Delhi side, about 3.4 km. A tutor coming by train usually takes an e-rickshaw or auto for the last stretch, or walks if they are used to it.
Buses help a tutor coming from elsewhere in Noida. NoBroker lists stops named Sector 20, Police Station Sector 20, Sector 21 and Sector 19 Telephone Exchange, and Noida Business Guide adds the DM Crossing and Sector 10 Crossing stops.
By road, Amaltash Marg is the spine, with Tulsi Marg for inside trips, Jal Vayu Vihar Road towards Sector 21 and Captain Vijayant Thapar Marg as the main arterial. Square Yards notes the DND Flyway close by for direct access to Delhi, and its reviewers mention traffic noise in the direction of the DND.
That nearness to the DND is the timing issue. The Hindustan Times reported in September 2026 that tailbacks form every morning and evening between the Mahamaya Flyover and the DND exit, at their worst at the Film City Flyover. A tutor driving across from Delhi or the expressway side should be booked before that build-up or after it clears.
Tutors in the sectors that touch Sector 20, which Noida Business Guide gives as 19, 21, 26 and 9, travel on local roads and can take a later slot. A tutor from Sector 12, just past Sector 21, is also a short trip.
Most homes in Sector 20 are plotted houses or two-storey authority flats, so there is usually no guard to brief. The address does all the work. Send block, pocket and house or flat number, and add a landmark such as the police station on Amaltash Marg or the power house. If your flat is on the first floor, mention it, along with which side the staircase is on.
If you live in one of the few apartment complexes with a gate, register the tutor once with the guard, with name and lesson days, so the first visit does not stall.
Keep a parent or another adult at home during lessons, especially for a young child, and use a shared room. Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, explained on how we verify tutors' ID. That check is not a police or background check, so normal care at home still applies. If you prefer a woman tutor, add it to your request and we will match on that basis.
Sector 20 parents mostly come to us for CBSE, with ICSE/ISC and UP Board the other common requests and the international boards rarer. UP Board's High School and Intermediate exams are conducted by UPMSP, and a UP Board tutor in Noida should be told whether your child writes answers in Hindi or English.
For a home tutor, the housing here changes little about the board, but it does change the setting. In a compact authority flat, the tutor works at the family table with the school's own textbook, so ask them to mark homework in the notebook the school checks. For the full comparison of CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE, see our board guide.
The work is reading aloud, neat writing, tables and simple word problems. Short, frequent sessions suit this age. A tutor living in Sector 19 or 21 can come three times a week without a long trip, which is harder for someone crossing the DND traffic. Our primary home tutors in Noida page explains what to expect from early-years teaching.
Science starts to separate into physics, chemistry and biology chapters, and maths moves into algebra. A tutor should check the school notebook each week and set short practice. If science is the struggle, a science home tutor in Noida can tie each chapter to experiments that work at a kitchen table.
Class 9 is where many students first feel the jump. A Class 9 home tutor builds the base in maths and science that Class 10 assumes. In Class 10, the tutor follows the school's unit tests and pre-boards and moves to full papers in the final term.
Seniors usually need one specialist per subject. In Sector 20, a mix often works: a home tutor from a neighbouring sector for one subject, and an online specialist for another whose teacher lives across the city. For commerce students, accountancy and economics tutors can be matched the same way.
JEE Main and NEET-UG are conducted by NTA. A home tutor in Sector 20 can keep school chapters on track while the student practises entrance questions elsewhere.
Check official date sheets on the board's own site, cbse.gov.in, cisce.org or upmsp.edu.in, rather than forwarded messages. When the school announces pre-boards, give the tutor the dates at once so revision sessions fit around them.
In the final weeks, an early-evening slot avoids both the market crowd and the DND rush, and leaves the night for the child's own revision. Use the sessions for timed practice papers and for going through mistakes, not new chapters.
At home: right for young children and for students who need someone checking work line by line. In Sector 20 the tutor comes straight to the door of a house or flat, with no gate formalities in most lanes.
Online: useful for senior subjects, for heavy-rain evenings, and when the right teacher lives too far to visit. In a small flat, a laptop and headphones can make a quiet space where there is no spare room.
At a centre: a fixed batch pace and a daily trip through roads that reviewers already find crowded at peak hours. It can work for a self-motivated older student who likes a group, with a home or online tutor covering doubts.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Every tutor sets their own fee, and it appears on your NXTutors shortlist before the free demo. The figure moves with the class and board, the subject, the length and number of lessons each week, and the tutor's experience. A tutor who comes from Sector 19 or 21 has a short trip; one coming by metro and auto from further away may price that time in. An online lesson takes the travel out. Settle the fee, days and lesson length before regular classes begin.
Our sources show no public library inside Sector 20. Noida Public Library is listed at Lok Manch in Sector 15, reachable from Sector 15 metro station; confirm membership and hours with the library first. At home, the quietest corner is usually the room furthest from Amaltash Marg and the market lanes.

AI-first tutoring, with real teachers
You tell us the class, board, subject and where in Sector 20 you live. Our AI does the slow part of the search and returns two or three tutors who fit, not a long list to scroll. You see each tutor's fee before the free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Where AI stops and people start
Move out to the wider area or in to nearby sectors. Tutors usually travel short distances, so the closest areas are the most useful places to look.
Distances are straight-line estimates between sector centres from OpenStreetMap data; the road route is usually longer.

A good tutor match in Sector 20 starts with one clear sentence about the problem. It might be that Physics numericals take too long, or that Biology diagrams feel hard, or that an IB coursework deadline is close. Write it down, add the class and board, and send it.
Sector 20 belongs to the Old Noida zone, which has twenty pages on NXTutors. Sector 14, Sector 14A, Sector 15 and Sector 15A are listed beside it, and a tutor from those pages may still be glad to teach your child here. Each tutor's fee is shown before the first class, which is a free demo.
First on this page are tutors living in Sector 20 or willing to travel there. Then you see tutors from other parts of Old Noida and the rest of the city, after them home tutors living in Delhi or Gurugram, and online teachers last, with real tutors always ahead of sample profiles. For ICSE or ISC students, mention the board early, since it changes which books the tutor brings. Whatever the subject, keep the school notebook and the latest test ready for the first lesson.
