Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

CBSE is the board most Noida families need a tutor for, which makes CBSE tutors easy to find but not easy to choose: the board's papers have shifted towards applied questions, Class 9 now has optional Advanced papers in maths and science, and Class 10 has a second board exam. This guide explains what CBSE asks for at each stage, where it differs from the UP Board, which subjects families most often bring a tutor in for, what a useful week of tuition looks like, and how tutors get to homes in each of Noida's six zones. Abhinandan Tiwary writes on Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths, and Aaditya Kashyap on CBSE and ICSE science.
Noida's schools teach several curricula. CBSE is the most common of them, ICSE is widely taught, a smaller number of schools offer the IB or Cambridge IGCSE, and because the city is in Uttar Pradesh there are schools affiliated to the state board, UPMSP. For a parent, the practical result is a large pool of CBSE tutors in almost every part of the city.
If your child is on another board, see our ICSE and ISC tutors in Noida, IB tutors in Noida or IGCSE tutors in Noida pages. Our Gurgaon CBSE guide covers the board's changes in more depth.
Still choosing a board? Our CBSE, ICSE, IB or IGCSE guide compares the boards for science, JEE, NEET and CA plans, and what each means for a home tutor.
Students in UP Board schools sit the state's own High School and Intermediate examinations. Much of what they study overlaps with the NCERT-based content CBSE uses, which is why families sometimes assume a tutor for one will do for the other. The differences sit elsewhere: the way the question papers are built, how answers are expected to be set out, and often the medium of teaching. A tutor who has prepared students only for one board's papers will drill the wrong habits for the other.
When a child changes between the two, content carries over well; the first few weeks should go on question style, marking expectations and, if the medium changes, subject vocabulary. Tell us the board and the medium when you ask, and we match a tutor who teaches that combination. Families new to the city may find our guide to schools and tutoring after moving to Noida useful.
| Stage | Who assesses | The usual trap | Ask the tutor for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classes 6–8 | The school only; computational thinking and AI literacy now sit inside existing subjects up to Class 8 | Weak fractions and word problems, unnoticed without a board paper | A short diagnostic, then steady repair of the basics |
| Class 9 | The school: an 80-mark annual exam plus 20 internal marks, with optional Advanced maths or science papers | Treating it as a "free" year before boards | Full coverage of the syllabus and a clear view on whether Advanced suits your child |
| Class 10 | CBSE board paper (80) plus school internal assessment (20); a second exam to improve up to three subjects | Leaning on the second exam as a back-up plan | A plan that treats the first exam as the one that counts |
| Class 11 | The school | A big jump in physics, chemistry and maths, often alongside entrance coaching | Early help with calculus, vectors and moles |
| Class 12 | CBSE board, theory plus practical or internal marks per subject | Skipping chapters, though the paper covers the whole Class 12 syllabus | Complete coverage and written practice from current sample papers |
From 2026-27, every Class 9 student studies maths and science at a common standard and sits a common 80-mark paper, and may add an Advanced paper in maths, science, both or neither. Each Advanced paper carries 25 marks, lasts an hour and consists only of higher-order questions on extra content. CBSE does not add these marks to the aggregate; clearing 50% earns a note on the marksheet. The earlier Basic and Standard split in maths is being phased out, though the Class 10 batch of 2026-27 finishes under the old scheme.
Opt for Advanced only in a subject your child already enjoys, and only if the tutor can teach the extra content without the common syllabus slipping. A third language is also compulsory for the transition batches; the school assesses it, with no board exam, but it still needs a fixed weekly slot.
In Class 10 the result in each major subject combines the 80-mark board paper with 20 internal marks. Since 2026 there are two board exams: the first is compulsory, and a student who has passed may sit the second to improve up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and the languages. Our Class 10 maths and Class 10 science pages go deeper, as do the Class 10 maths preparation guide and Class 10 science notes.
| Subject | Split | Weekly tuition priority |
|---|---|---|
| Physics, Chemistry, Biology | 70 theory, 30 practical | Numericals with units, reaction logic, labelled diagrams |
| Mathematics or Applied Mathematics (one only) | 80 theory, 20 internal | Calculus and algebra written out step by step |
| Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies | 80 theory, 20 internal | Formats, diagrams and case-based answers |
| Computer Science or Informatics Practices | 70 theory, 30 practical | Code tracing and practical file discipline |
CBSE says senior papers will carry more application questions set in real situations, within the syllabus; the detailed design comes with each year's sample paper. For subject depth, see Class 12 maths, Class 12 physics, Class 12 chemistry and our Class 12 physics strategies. Still choosing a stream? Read the Class 11 stream choice guide.
Up to Class 10, requests are mostly for maths and science, which stack year on year. From Class 11, science families ask for physics, chemistry and maths, often with JEE or NEET in view, and commerce families for accountancy and economics. English comes up at every level, mostly for writing.
Judge tuition by the week, not the hour. In a two-session week, the first session follows the school: which NCERT exercises were set, which doubts came up, what the class rushed. The second looks ahead to the paper: exemplar-level questions, then a short case, data table or source where the student must decide which idea applies before writing.
Each week should end with one answer written in full and marked against the official marking scheme, step by step. About half the questions in secondary papers are now competency-focused, and textbook-only practice loses marks there. Ask for a one-page log of chapters, scores and repeated errors.
With CBSE tutors spread across the city, the question is which one can arrive on time; the route matters more than the distance.
Our Old and Central Noida guide, Sector 62 and 70s guide and Expressway and Extension guide cover timing and entry in more detail.
For CBSE, home tuition is the default for most families up to Class 10, and with good reason: a tutor at the table sees the notebook and the steps a child skips, and a CBSE tutor within a short trip is usually available. Online starts to earn its place in Classes 11 and 12, when the right physics or accountancy tutor may live across the city, and in the weeks before board exams, when an extra short session for doubts saves a journey.
A common mix is home sessions for teaching plus one online session for tests with the same tutor; online, the tutor must see written working live. Our comparison of home and online tutors sets out the trade-offs.
You get two or three matched tutors, see each one's fee before the demo, and can switch tutor later for free. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified. See also our demo class checklist.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For CBSE, the class, the number of subjects, sessions per week and how far the tutor travels at your slot decide where a quote falls. Our home tuition fees in Noida post and the pricing guide explain the ranges.
Send us the class, subjects, your sector and society or block, and the slots that work. We shortlist two or three CBSE tutors, you see their fees, and the first class is a free demo. You can also browse tutor profiles, see every sector on our Noida tutors page, or, if you teach CBSE yourself, look at tuition jobs in Noida.
To find a CBSE home tutor in Noida, send NXTutors the class, subjects, your sector and society or block, and the slots you can offer. We shortlist two or three matched CBSE tutors who can reach you on a workable route, with each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Neither CBSE nor ICSE suits every Noida child; the right board depends on the school and the child, and the tutor must match whichever board your child sits. CBSE and ICSE schools are both common in Noida, so tutors for either board can usually be found. Name the board first when you ask for a tutor.
Not automatically; a CBSE tutor suits a UP Board student in Noida only if they also teach the UP Board's own papers and medium. Much content overlaps the NCERT-based syllabus, but the UP Board sets its own High School and Intermediate papers and expects answers set out its own way. Tell us the board and medium, and we look for a tutor who teaches that combination.
A CBSE Class 9 student in Noida should take an Advanced paper only in a subject they already enjoy and handle comfortably. Each Advanced paper is an extra 25-mark, one-hour test of higher-order questions, and CBSE does not add it to the aggregate. The common 80-mark paper still decides the main result, so that syllabus must stay secure first.
For CBSE Class 10 students in Noida, the first board exam is compulsory, and a student who passes may sit a second exam to improve up to three subjects. Those subjects come from science, maths, social science and the languages. A tutor should plan for the first exam as the one that counts and keep the second for a genuine setback.
In CBSE Classes 11 and 12, physics, chemistry and biology are 70 theory plus 30 practical, while maths, accountancy and economics are 80 plus 20 internal. A tutor should drill numericals with units and labelled diagrams in the sciences, and step-by-step working in maths. The Class 12 board paper covers the whole syllabus, so skipping chapters is the usual trap.
Up to Class 10, Noida families most often want a CBSE tutor for maths and science, because each year builds on the last. From Class 11, science students ask for physics, chemistry and maths, often with JEE or NEET in view, and commerce students for accountancy and economics. English writing is a steady request at every level.
Home tuition usually suits CBSE students in Noida up to Class 10, because a tutor at the table sees the notebook and the steps a child skips. Online earns its place in Classes 11 and 12, when the right physics or accountancy tutor may live across the city, and for short doubt sessions before board exams. Many families combine both with the same tutor.
In a free demo with a CBSE tutor in Noida, ask which current sample paper and marking scheme they teach from, and watch whether they correct the working. Give them an unseen case-based question to see if they teach the reading of it, not just the formula. Ask how they support the practical file without doing it for your child.
A CBSE home tutor in Noida sets their own fee, and NXTutors shows each shortlisted fee before the free demo. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For CBSE, the class, number of subjects, sessions a week and the tutor's trip to your sector move the quote.
