What home tuition costs in Noida

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Science home tutor in Noida for Classes 6 to 10

A science home tutor in Noida is most useful when the tutor teaches the book your child's school actually uses, treats physics, chemistry and biology as the three different skills they are, and comes at a time that suits the after-school routine in your sector. For CBSE students that means NCERT line by line and the competency-style questions the board now sets; for ICSE students it means preparing for three separate science papers. NXTutors shortlists two or three science tutors for your child's class and board, and the first class is a free demo.

What does a science tutor actually do from Class 6 to Class 10?

The job changes a lot over five years. Aaditya Kashyap writes our CBSE and ICSE science guidance, and the way we brief tutors follows this ladder:

  • Classes 6 and 7: curiosity and vocabulary. NCERT's newer middle-school science books, the Curiosity series, are built around activities, questions and observation. A tutor's job is to keep that curiosity going and to teach the exact words (solute, conductor, respiration) that later answers depend on. One or two sessions a week is plenty.
  • Class 8: the bridge. The three strands start to feel like separate subjects, and simple numericals with units appear. A tutor who makes units and labelled diagrams a habit now saves a painful Class 9.
  • Class 9: the steep year. Motion graphs and equations, atoms and molecules, and a large amount of biology vocabulary arrive together. Much of the Class 10 paper builds on Class 9, so gaps left here tend to show up in the board year. Our Class 9 science tutor page goes chapter by chapter.
  • Class 10: the board year. Teach and consolidate from April, chapter tests and mixed revision through the pre-boards, then timed full papers. Two or three sessions a week is usual.

NCERT has been revising its textbooks class by class, so a sibling's old notes or last year's guidebook may not match your child's chapter order. A tutor should work from the edition the school uses this year.

Does your child need one science tutor or three?

For most CBSE students up to Class 9, and many in Class 10, one strong science tutor is the sensible choice: one timetable, one person who sees the whole picture, and less travel. Split only when the evidence says so:

  • Physics numericals keep going wrong while biology marks are fine: add a physics-strong tutor for one session a week.
  • The mistake is at the rearranging step of a formula: the gap may be in maths, not science.
  • Your child is in an ICSE school from Class 9: three separate papers often justify separate help in the weakest one.

From Class 11, science becomes three subjects anyway, and families move to a physics, chemistry or biology specialist. For how science tuition works beyond Noida, see the main science home tutor page.

How is the CBSE Class 10 science paper built?

The CBSE Class 10 Science board paper is 80 marks and three hours, with 20 marks of internal assessment from the school (periodic assessment, multiple assessment, portfolio and practical work, 5 marks each). The 2026-27 sample paper has 39 questions, grouped by subject, and the curriculum weights competencies at 50% knowledge and understanding, 30% application and 20% analysis and evaluation. In practice that means fewer "define" questions and more "here is a set-up, explain what happens".

CBSE Class 10 Science: how the 2026-27 sample paper divides the marks, and what each part rewards
SectionMarks in the sample paperWhat earns the marksWhat to practise with a tutor
Biology (world of living, our environment)30Exact terms, neat labelled diagrams, flow of a processDrawing and labelling from memory; one-line definitions in NCERT words
Chemistry (chemical substances)25Balanced equations, observations, reasonsWriting and balancing equations daily; linking each reaction to what you would see
Physics (light, electricity, magnetic effects)25Formula, substitution with units, ray and circuit diagramsSign convention in optics; circuit numericals written step by step
Internal assessment (school)20Steady work across the year: tests, portfolio, practical workKeeping the practical file complete from April, not in January

Some topics are now assessed only in school, not in the board paper: for example evolution, and the electric motor, electromagnetic induction and the generator. Old guides that tell students to prioritise them for the board are out of date. CBSE also moved Class 10 to two board exams from 2026: a compulsory main exam and an optional second exam to improve in up to three subjects, science among them. Dates for 2027 come in CBSE's date sheet, so rely on cbse.gov.in. Our CBSE Class 10 science notes go chapter by chapter.

How is ICSE science different?

In ICSE, science is examined as three separate papers in Class 10: Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each with its own theory paper and internal assessment. Students are, in effect, preparing for three science exams. The volume of content and the precision expected in definitions and numerical working are what cost marks, rather than case-based questions. Schools use books prescribed or chosen by them under the CISCE syllabus, so a tutor must work from your child's actual book and CISCE's specimen papers, not from NCERT.

Noida's schools are mostly CBSE, with a smaller number following ICSE, so an ICSE-experienced science tutor may need a little more notice. Tell us early if your child is in an ICSE school, especially from Class 9.

Towers, plotted sectors and after-school timing: what changes by sector?

For a Class 6 to 10 student, science tuition usually fits between school, a sport and homework, so the slot is early evening and the tutor's travel decides whether it holds. In Noida, the type of housing matters as much as the sector number. Open your sector on our Noida page to see who teaches nearby.

Plotted sectors with a front door

Much of Old Noida and Central Noida is houses and builder floors on authority plots, such as Sector 39, which has the Noida City Centre metro station, and Sector 41 on Dadri Road. The tutor comes straight to the door; the practical issue is parking on older lanes. Further out, Sector 122 is also plotted, laid out in Blocks A to D, and heavy rain can slow travel, so an online back-up for monsoon evenings is worth agreeing.

RWA colonies and mixed sectors

Much of Sector 21 is a large RWA-run colony of two- and three-bedroom flats across several blocks; Sector 61 mixes group housing, low-rise apartments, houses and floors, and has its own Blue Line station. Entry rules differ block by block, so tell the tutor which gate to use.

Gated towers in the 70s and on the expressway

Sectors such as Sector 78 and Sector 100 are almost all high-rise gated societies, near the Aqua Line's Sector 101 station. Register the tutor at the gate and the tower once. Residents report the junction near the Sector 101 station jams at peak hours, so a slot that starts before the evening rush holds better. In big societies, a tutor often teaches more than one child on the same visit.

In any sector, a weekend-morning slot is easier to fill than 6 pm on a weekday, and one home session plus one online session a week with the same tutor is a common, workable plan.

Which science can be done at the dining table?

Science is one of the subjects where a home tutor has a real advantage for younger students, because some of it can be seen, not just read. Safe, simple activities fit a normal lesson:

  • An indicator from red cabbage water to sort household liquids into acidic and basic.
  • A cell, a bulb and a switch to show open and closed circuits.
  • Seeds germinating on wet cotton over a week, with a daily drawing.
  • A glass of water and a pencil to show refraction before the ray diagram is drawn.

Anything with flames, strong acids or mains electricity stays in the school laboratory. From Class 9 onwards the balance shifts to written practice, diagrams and timed questions, which work equally well at home or online.

What does a science home tutor cost in Noida?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees. For Classes 6 to 10, the things that move a fee within that range are the class (the board year costs more than the middle-school years), whether you need a general science tutor or a physics or chemistry specialist, the travel at your slot, and how many sessions a week you take. You see each shortlisted tutor's fee before the demo.

How do you judge a science tutor in one demo class?

The demo is a normal lesson on this week's chapter. Watch for these, and see our demo class checklist for parents for more:

  1. They asked what school is on right now and used your child's current book.
  2. Your child drew and labelled something, not just looked at a picture.
  3. A numerical was done step by step: formula, substitution with units, answer with units.
  4. They asked "why" and made your child predict or explain, the skill competency questions test.
  5. They proposed a plan: which chapters next and when tests start.

If most of these were missing, tell us and we arrange the next tutor's demo. Switching tutor later is free too.

Science Home Tutor in Noida: common questions

How do I find a science home tutor in Noida?

To find a science home tutor in Noida, tell us your child's class and board, which part of science is the problem, your sector and the times that work. We send two or three matched science tutors, each fee shown before the first class. You choose one for a free demo class, and switching later is free.

How much does a science home tutor cost in Noida?

Science home tutors in Noida set their own fees, and you see each shortlisted fee before the free demo. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For Classes 6 to 10, the board year and physics or chemistry specialists cost more than general middle-school help.

Can one Noida tutor teach physics, chemistry and biology up to Class 10?

For most CBSE students in Noida up to Class 9, and many in Class 10, one strong science tutor can teach all three strands. Add a specialist only when one strand is clearly weak, for example physics numericals, or check whether the mistake is really at the maths rearranging step. ICSE students, who sit three separate science papers, more often need separate help from Class 9.

How is the CBSE Class 10 science paper marked for Noida students?

For Noida students, the CBSE Class 10 science board paper is 80 marks and three hours, with 20 marks of internal assessment from the school. In the 2026-27 sample paper, biology carries 30 marks, chemistry 25 and physics 25. Half the weighting is knowledge and understanding; the rest asks students to apply, analyse and evaluate, often through case-based questions.

Will Noida students sit two CBSE Class 10 board exams in 2027?

CBSE's two-exam system for Class 10, introduced from 2026, applies to Noida students: a compulsory main exam and an optional second exam to improve up to three subjects, science included. The 2027 dates have not been announced yet, so check cbse.gov.in. Prepare as if the main exam is the only attempt.

Are there ICSE science tutors in Noida?

Yes, NXTutors shortlists ICSE science tutors in Noida who work from the school's prescribed books and CISCE specimen papers, though they may need a little more notice. Most Noida schools follow CBSE, so tell us early if your child is in an ICSE school, especially from Class 9. ICSE science is three separate Class 10 papers, so precise definitions and numericals matter.

Is science home tuition practical in a high-rise society in Noida's Sector 70s or on the expressway?

Yes, science home tuition is practical in a high-rise Noida society if you register the tutor at the gate and tower once and choose a slot before the evening rush. In large societies, a tutor may already teach another child in your complex, which makes a weekday slot easier to keep. Weekend mornings are easier to fill than 6 pm on a weekday.

What is the right time for a Noida Class 9 student to begin science tuition?

A Noida Class 9 student should ideally begin science tuition at the start of the session in April, or as soon as a unit test shows a gap. Class 9 brings motion numericals, atoms and molecules and much biology vocabulary at once, and the Class 10 paper builds on it. Two sessions a week is usually enough if help starts early.

Which science activities can a Noida home tutor do at the dining table?

A Noida home tutor can run safe science activities at the dining table, such as a red cabbage indicator to sort household liquids into acidic and basic. A cell, bulb and switch show open and closed circuits, and seeds germinating on wet cotton make a week-long drawing task. Anything with flames, strong acids or mains electricity stays in the school lab.

Is home or online science tuition better for Classes 6 to 10 in Noida?

For younger science students in Noida, home tuition has a real advantage because some science can be seen and done, not just read. From Class 9 the balance shifts to written practice, diagrams and timed questions, which work equally well at home or online. One home and one online session a week with the same tutor is a common, workable plan.

How do I judge a science tutor in one demo class in Noida?

To judge a science tutor in one demo class in Noida, check that they ask what school is on now and use your child's current book. Your child should draw and label something, a numerical should run formula, substitution with units, answer with units, and the tutor should ask "why". They should leave a plan for which chapters come next.
