What home tuition costs in Greater Noida

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Class 10 home tutors in Greater Noida: CBSE, UP Board High School, ICSE and IGCSE

In Class 10 the paper is written by someone outside the school for the first time, and in Greater Noida that paper can come from four quite different bodies. A CBSE student now has two board sittings to think about; a UP Board student sits the High School examination in Hindi or English; an ICSE student has long written answers and internal marks shared with an outside examiner; an IGCSE candidate has to be entered at the right tier. A tutor who is excellent on one route can be lost on another, so the board comes first in every match we make. This page is by Abhinandan Tiwary, our Class 10 maths author for CBSE and ICSE, and Aaditya Kashyap, who writes on CBSE and ICSE science. It explains each route, where maths and science marks go missing, how to plan the year and the week, and what to test in the free demo.

Which Class 10 exam will your child sit?

The Class 10 routes in Greater Noida and what each asks of a tutor
RouteHow it is markedThe decision to get rightWhat the tutor must know
CBSEMain subjects carry 80 marks in the board paper and 20 internal; 33% is needed to pass a subject; about half the questions test competencyMaths Standard or Basic, which still applies to the 2026-27 batch, and whether to use the second sittingNCERT depth plus case-based and source-based question practice
UP Board High SchoolSet and conducted by the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad; check the current pattern on upmsp.edu.inSubject codes and the medium of the paperThe prescribed books and the board's own model papers
ICSEMaths is one three-hour paper of 80 marks, plus 20 internal marks split between the teacher and an external examinerFinishing a long syllabus with time for papersComplete, well-set-out working in every answer
Cambridge IGCSE maths (0580)Exam papers onlyCore (grades C to G) or Extended (A* to E); a March series is open to candidates in IndiaTier strategy and command words
Pearson Edexcel International GCSE mathsExam papers onlyFoundation (grades 5 to 1) or Higher (9 to 4)Matching the tier to the student's real level

Our Greater Noida pages for CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE tutors cover each board across classes, and our article on ICSE Class 10 maths works through that paper.

How should a CBSE family treat the two board sittings?

Since 2026 CBSE has held two Class 10 board exams. The first is compulsory. The second is optional and lets a student try to improve in up to three subjects chosen from science, maths, social science and languages. It is tempting to see the second sitting as a plan B that lowers the pressure on the first. A better reading is that it rewards the student who prepares properly for the first exam and then has one or two subjects to polish, not the student who arrives underprepared and hopes to repair everything a few weeks later.

A tutor should therefore plan for the first sitting as if it were the only one, and only after the results talk about which subject, if any, is worth sitting again. Two other CBSE points to settle early: confirm whether your child is registered for Maths Standard or Basic, since that choice continues only for the current batch before CBSE moves to a common course with an optional Advanced paper, and check cbse.gov.in for 2027 dates, which had not been announced when this page was written. Our CBSE Class 10 maths preparation article goes chapter by chapter.

What does a UP Board High School tutor work from?

The High School examination is the board's first public exam, taken after ten years of schooling. The Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, set up in 1921 at Prayagraj, prescribes the courses and textbooks and runs the exam, and its website carries the material a Greater Noida tutor should keep open:

  • The Class 10 syllabus by subject code. Maths is 928 and science 931, with Hindi (901) or Elementary Hindi (902), English (917), Sanskrit (923), social science (932), commerce, computer and several vocational trade subjects such as IT-ITES and retail trading.
  • Model papers. Filed by class and subject code, they show the board's phrasing and layout more reliably than any commercial guide.
  • The month-wise syllabus. The academic calendar section breaks each subject into months, a ready checklist for keeping pace with school.
  • Current notices. Paper patterns, internal assessment and the compartment or improvement examination are notified on the site; read the latest version rather than a senior's old notes.

Medium matters here more than on other boards: a student writing the paper in Hindi needs a tutor who teaches the technical vocabulary in Hindi. The UP Board tutors in Greater Noida page covers the board from Class 9 to 12.

Where do Class 10 maths and science marks go missing?

On every route, maths and science are the subjects where a tutor changes the result most, because both build on earlier chapters and both penalise missing steps. The usual leaks are predictable:

Common Class 10 mark losses and the tutor's fix
Where marks leakWhat it looks likeThe fix
Skipped working in mathsRight answer, partial marksEvery line written in board style, checked by the tutor line by line
Application questionsStrong on textbook sums, stuck on a case study or unfamiliar wordingWeekly practice from the board's own sample or model papers
Science numericalsFormula known, units and steps missingA fixed answer layout: given, formula, substitution, unit
Diagrams and equationsUnlabelled diagrams, unbalanced chemical equationsShort drills at the start of each session until they are automatic
Time in the exam hallLast section unattemptedTimed full papers from December, with a plan for which section to start with

One tutor for both maths and science is reasonable when each is slightly behind. If one subject is far behind, or the target is a very high score, a subject specialist is the better spend. See our maths and science pages for Greater Noida, and our Class 10 science notes.

How does the board year run in Greater Noida?

Most schools in the city open the session in April, as CBSE schools do, with first-term exams around September and pre-boards in many schools around the turn of the year. A tutor's plan can follow that shape:

  1. April and May: gather the current syllabus and paper pattern for each subject, test the Class 9 basics, and use the summer break to get one or two chapters ahead.
  2. June to September: steady teaching with a short test each week and an error log; the first-term exam is the first checkpoint.
  3. October to December: finish the syllabus, complete practical and internal work, and start single-subject timed papers before the pre-boards.
  4. January to March: full papers under exam conditions, then only revision from the error log, with the board's published timetable on the wall.

April is the ideal start, because a tutor can correct habits as well as chapters. A tutor who joins after the pre-boards can still help with timing and presentation, but not with foundations.

How do school, coaching and a tutor fit into one week?

Many Class 10 students already travel to a coaching class, and in a spread-out city like Greater Noida the journey alone can take an evening. Before adding a tutor, map the week hour by hour with travel included, then:

  • keep at least an hour a day for solo practice, which is where marks are actually made;
  • put the tutor on days without coaching, at home or on screen, so nobody travels twice in an evening;
  • let the tutor take whatever topic school or the batch covered in the last few days and turn it into written board answers;
  • leave one evening free, and treat sleep as part of revision from December onwards.

How do board-year tutors reach each zone?

Class 10 evenings across Greater Noida: the tutor's way in and the risk to plan for
ZoneTutor's way inRisk to plan for
Greater Noida WestTwo-wheeler or car from nearby towers; nearest metro Noida Sector 51Late arrivals around Gaur Chowk in the evening rush

Pi, Sigma and Sectors 36–37DELTA 1 and an auto, or a tutor from Pi or KasnaThe Surajpur–Kasna road slowing at busy hours

Omicron, Mu and XuTwo-wheeler in most sectors; GNIDA Office for metro ridersRush-hour congestion on the roads out of Omicron 1

Should board-year lessons be at home or online?

For long maths and science answers, a tutor at the table sees every step without effort. Online lessons widen the field, which matters when the ICSE or IGCSE specialist you want lives across the city or in another one, and they save a trip on nights when Pari Chowk or Gaur Chowk is gridlocked. For maths on screen, insist that the tutor sees your child's pen moving, using a pen tablet, a shared whiteboard or a second phone propped above the page. A common arrangement is a long weekend session at home for written practice and a shorter online check-in midweek. Our comparison of home and online tutors has more.

What should the free demo test in a board year?

The first class with your chosen tutor costs nothing. Use it to check that they know your child's actual paper:

  • Board detail: for CBSE, the internal marks, Standard or Basic and the second sitting; for the UP Board, where they get the model papers and current pattern, and whether they teach in your child's medium; for IGCSE, the tier.
  • Diagnosis: hand over a marked school test and ask exactly where marks were lost and why.
  • Marking habit: watch whether they check every step or only the final answer.
  • Teaching, not solving: give an unseen question from your child's book and see whether it is explained or just done.
  • A plan on paper: ask when full-length papers will start relative to the pre-boards.

If you are not convinced, another shortlisted tutor can give a separate demo, and switching tutor later in the year is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID. Our demo class checklist lists more questions.

What does a Class 10 tutor cost in Greater Noida?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For Class 10, a quote depends on the board, the number of subjects, how much board-year teaching the tutor has done, the journey to your sector at your slot and how many sessions a week you want. Tutors set their own fees, and each is listed on your shortlist before the demo. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Greater Noida.

Where we match Class 10 tutors in Greater Noida

Sigma 3 has villas and plots alongside newer premium towers; in the towers expect gate checks and basement parking rules, and because the sector is still growing, the tutor may come from Pi or Kasna rather than next door. Pi 1 is mostly apartment societies with villa enclaves and plotted colonies, and with Pari Chowk busy at peak hours many families choose an afternoon or early-evening slot. Omicron 1, the high-rise end of the Omicron sectors near the Ecotech industrial area, relies on GNIDA Office station and a shared auto for metro riders, so allow slack on weekday evenings.

In Xu 2, a calm sector of houses on wide roads near Raipur Bangar, autos and buses rarely come inside, so a tutor on a two-wheeler is the practical match, and a steady home tutor is valued by families who find the sector remote. Sector 12 sits on the 130 m road in Greater Noida West, well connected but with strict society security, so register the tutor before the first class. Delta 2 is plotted houses in blocks G to K near the DELTA 1 station, where a tutor from the Delta or Gamma sectors keeps weekday timings reliable.

Class 10 Home Tutor in Greater Noida: common questions

What details does NXTutors need to match a Class 10 tutor in Greater Noida?

To get a Class 10 home tutor in Greater Noida, tell NXTutors the board, medium, subjects, your sector and free slots. You receive two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, another shortlisted tutor can give a separate demo, and switching tutor later in the year is free.

What is the hourly rate for board-year Class 10 tuition in Greater Noida?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For Class 10 in Greater Noida, the quote depends on the board, number of subjects, the tutor's board-year experience, the trip to your sector and sessions a week. Every fee is listed before the free demo.

Should Class 10 tuition in Greater Noida be at home or online?

Home tuition usually suits Class 10 in Greater Noida for long maths and science answers, because a tutor at the table sees every step. Online widens the field when the ICSE or IGCSE specialist you want lives far away, and saves a trip when Pari Chowk or Gaur Chowk is gridlocked. A weekend home session plus a midweek online check-in is common.

How should a Greater Noida family plan for CBSE's second Class 10 board exam?

A Greater Noida family should plan for CBSE's first Class 10 board exam as if it were the only one, since it is compulsory. The optional second lets a student try to improve up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and languages. Decide only after first results; 2027 dates will be on cbse.gov.in when announced.

Is CBSE Maths Standard or Basic still a choice for Class 10 in Greater Noida?

Yes, Greater Noida students in the 2026-27 CBSE Class 10 batch still choose Maths Standard or Basic. CBSE is moving later batches to a common maths course with an optional Advanced paper. Check with the school which version your child is registered for, and make sure the tutor uses papers for that version.

What should a UP Board High School tutor in Greater Noida work from?

A UP Board High School tutor in Greater Noida should work from the prescribed textbooks in your child's medium and the board's own material on upmsp.edu.in. That means the Class 10 syllabus by subject code, such as 928 for maths and 931 for science, the model papers and the month-wise syllabus. Take the current pattern from the board's notices.

Can one tutor teach both Class 10 maths and science in Greater Noida?

One Greater Noida tutor can often teach both Class 10 maths and science if each subject is only slightly behind and the tutor is confident in both. When one subject is far behind, or the aim is a very high score, a specialist usually works better. Ask the tutor to teach one chapter of each in the free demo.

Can we get ICSE or IGCSE Class 10 tutors in Greater Noida?

Yes, Greater Noida families can request ICSE or IGCSE Class 10 tutors, matched on the exact paper. ICSE tutors should know CISCE papers and insist on full working. IGCSE students are matched on syllabus and tier, such as Cambridge 0580 Core or Extended, or Edexcel Foundation or Higher; these specialists may live far away, so home plus online is common.

When should a Greater Noida family book a Class 10 tutor?

A Greater Noida family should ideally book a Class 10 tutor in April, when most schools start the session, to fix Class 9 gaps before first-term exams around September. A tutor who starts after the pre-boards can still improve timing and presentation, but there is no longer time to rebuild weak foundations.

Where do Class 10 students in Greater Noida usually lose maths and science marks?

Class 10 students in Greater Noida usually lose maths and science marks through skipped working, unfamiliar application questions, incomplete numericals, unlabelled diagrams and running out of time. The fixes are board-style working checked line by line, weekly sample-paper practice, a given-formula-substitution-unit layout, and timed full papers from December.

How do coaching and a Class 10 home tutor fit into one week in Greater Noida?

In Greater Noida, where travel to coaching can take an evening, put the Class 10 home tutor on days without coaching so nobody travels twice in one evening. Keep at least an hour a day for solo practice. Let the tutor turn the week's school or batch topics into written board answers, and leave one evening free.
