Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

A Class 12 student in Greater Noida is usually working towards two results at once: a board certificate, whether CBSE, UP Board Intermediate, ISC or the IB Diploma, and an entrance score for JEE, NEET or CUET. The two share most of their syllabus but reward different habits, one long written answers and the other speed and accuracy under time pressure. Families who treat them as separate projects often end up with two sets of classes, no revision time and an exhausted student by March. Ajay Vatsyayan, who writes on ISC and IB maths for NXTutors, prepared this page with the NXTutors Academic Team. It sets out what each board's final papers ask for, why the board result still matters for entrance routes, how the year runs, when to choose specialists, how a tutor fits around coaching, and how tutors get to each part of the city.
| Board | How marks are made up | What a tutor must cover |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE | The board paper tests the full Class 12 syllabus; maths is 80 + 20 internal, physics and chemistry 70 theory + 30 practical; CBSE has said papers will carry more real-life application questions | NCERT in depth, application-style practice, and the practical record, project and viva, which carry real marks |
| UP Board Intermediate | Set by the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad after the 10+2 course; take the pattern from the board's current notices | The prescribed books in the paper's medium and the board's model papers, such as physics 151, chemistry 152, biology 153, maths 131 and accountancy (lekhashastra) 156 |
| ISC | In Mathematics (860), an 80-mark paper and 20 marks of project work; for 2027 and 2028 all seven units are compulsory with no Section B or C, and calculus is worth 35 of the 80 | Complete calculus coverage and a project ready for the viva, which a visiting examiner conducts; ISC Maths cannot be paired with Applied Mathematics |
| IB Diploma, year two | Each subject graded 1 to 7; the Extended Essay and TOK add up to 3 points, for 45 in all; 24 points is one diploma condition; the maths exploration is 20% at SL and HL | Exam technique by paper, and criteria-aware feedback on the exploration and the revised Extended Essay (first assessed May 2027, up to 4,000 words plus a 500-word reflection) |
On every board the coursework is the student's own. A tutor may explain the ideas, walk through the marking criteria and challenge an argument; picking the question for them, or writing and rewriting any part of a project, IA or Extended Essay, is off limits. Our CBSE Class 12 physics and Class 12 maths guides go chapter by chapter, and the UP Board, CBSE, ICSE and ISC and IB pages for Greater Noida cover each board.
Once a student joins an entrance batch, the board paper can start to feel like a formality. It is not, for two reasons.
For 2026, JEE (Advanced) was open to the first 2,50,000 JEE (Main) candidates; its official site is jeeadv.ac.in. NEET (UG) is held once a year by NTA. CUET (UG), also run by NTA, is used for undergraduate admission at Central Universities and other universities that join it, and matters most to commerce and humanities students. Treat every number here as last year's and confirm it in the new notice.
Only official notices give dates, but the shape of the year in Greater Noida is steady, with most schools starting in April:
| Months | What is going on | The tutor's role |
|---|---|---|
| April to June | Session starts; coaching test series begin; summer break | Cover the longest chapters first, writing at least one board-style answer a week alongside entrance problems |
| July to September | Class tests and then the mid-year school exam | Close every chapter with one written and one objective set; practical files up to date |
| October to December | Last chapters, lab exams, project submission, then pre-boards near New Year | Whole board papers against the clock; entrance drills paused for a few weeks |
| January to March | The board papers, often overlapping with the first JEE (Main) session | Nothing new: each paper revised in turn, plus quick doubt calls |
| April to May | JEE (Main) second session, then JEE (Advanced) and NEET (UG); IB and Cambridge papers in May | Mock tests under timing and a post-mortem of each one |
Our JEE and NEET pages for Greater Noida go further into each test.
In Class 12, almost always. An all-round maths-and-science tutor makes sense in middle school, but by now each subject carries its own board paper, its own practical or coursework rules and often its own entrance treatment. Someone superb at CBSE organic chemistry may never have seen an ISC practical file; a seasoned Intermediate maths teacher may not know how an IB exploration is moderated.
More than two specialists rarely pays. Use the first-term results and the early mocks to decide which subject gets the budget.
The pairing works when roles are split. The institute sets the entrance timetable, runs the tests and shows where a student stands in a large group. The tutor takes on what a batch of dozens cannot: the backlog of questions never asked in class, the one subject slipping, written board answers and lab preparation. Three signals that a coached student needs that extra help: test scores stuck for a month or more, school marks falling, and a habit of following worked solutions easily but freezing on a fresh problem.
Draw up the week in this order: school, batch, the honest journey time each way, and only then the tutor, on an evening with no batch so nobody is on the road twice. Protect two blocks a week for going through mocks and the running list of doubts. Our piece comparing JEE coaching with a home tutor was written for Gurugram, and its reasoning holds here.
| Zone | Usual journey | Snag to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Greater Noida West | From a nearby township by two-wheeler or car | Evening queues at Gaur Chowk and Ek Murti Chowk; a planned metro extension is not open yet |
| Alpha–Delta and Pari Chowk | Aqua Line from Noida or within Greater Noida, then e-rickshaw | Pari Chowk at peak hour for tutors driving in on the Expressway |
| Omega, Chi and Phi | Pari Chowk station for Omega 2; two-wheeler for Chi and Phi | Knowledge Park college traffic around the roundabout |
| Pi, Sigma and Sectors 36–37 | DELTA 1 and an auto, or a local two-wheeler | Visitor registration in Pi societies and new Sigma 3 towers |
| Zeta and Eta | Depot or GNIDA Office station, then an auto | A small local pool of senior specialists; online fills the gap |
| Omicron, Mu and Xu | Two-wheeler; GNIDA Office for metro riders | Autos that rarely enter Omicron 1A and the Xu sectors |
Our local guides to the Greek-letter sectors and Greater Noida West add more detail.
For many, a share of it should. A specialist in ISC chemistry, HL maths or JEE Advanced physics may simply not live in your zone, and a screen lets a lesson begin at half past eight once the batch is over. Keep at least some visits for a student who needs an adult beside them to push through a long worksheet. In maths, physics and accountancy, whatever the format, insist that the tutor follows the working line by line.
The first class with your chosen tutor is free. Five questions that sort strong candidates from the rest:
If the fit is wrong, another shortlisted tutor can give a separate demo, and changing tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Expect quotes to differ by board and course, by how much JEE or NEET depth you want, by the tutor's track record, by the distance at your hour and by weekly frequency. Tutors set their own fees, visible before the demo. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Greater Noida.
Eta 2 is an emerging sector of newer group-housing societies, some close to Depot station; construction continues in places, so plan the tutor's route and gate entry before the first session. Omicron 1A is a leafy plotted sector with a block of authority flats and no market inside it; cabs are easy to book but autos are not, so a tutor with a two-wheeler is the dependable choice. Sigma 4, near Sector P-3 and Sector 36, is mostly mid-segment societies, and tutors from Pi and the neighbouring Sigma sectors can usually reach it.
Gaur City 2, covering much of Sector 16C, is a township of closely packed towers, so a tutor already teaching one student there can often add another on the same evening. Sector P-3 is a large plotted sector by Pari Chowk with access to both expressways; for weekday slots a tutor based inside Greater Noida tends to be more punctual than one driving in from Noida. Omega 2 sits right beside Pari Chowk station, which makes it one of the easiest sectors for a tutor travelling by metro, though weekend or later slots avoid the roundabout's peak.
If your child is a year behind this stage, the Class 11 page for Greater Noida has the first-term plan. Otherwise, tell us the board, subjects, target exams, batch days and sector. Each subject returns two or three tutors with their fees; the first class is free, and so is any later switch. Book the demo, read tutor profiles, or start from your sector on the Greater Noida home tutors page.
NXTutors matches a Class 12 home tutor in Greater Noida from the board, subjects, target exams, batch days and your sector. Each subject returns two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, another shortlisted tutor can give a separate demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. For many Class 12 students in Greater Noida, part of the tuition should move online, because the right specialist may not live in your zone. That applies to ISC chemistry, HL maths or JEE Advanced physics. A screen also lets a lesson start once the batch is over. Keep some home visits for a student who needs an adult beside them through a long worksheet.
Yes, Class 12 board marks matter for a Greater Noida JEE student, because NIT admission through a JEE (Main) rank carries a Class 12 condition. The 2026 bulletin required at least 75% aggregate (65% for SC, ST and PwD), or a place in the upper 20 percentile of the student's own board. Check the current bulletin each year.
A UP Board Intermediate tutor in Greater Noida should use the prescribed textbooks in your child's medium and the board's Class 12 material on upmsp.edu.in. That includes the syllabus, month-wise plan and model papers by subject code, such as physics 151, chemistry 152, biology 153, maths 131 and accountancy 156. Take the current pattern from the board's notices.
ISC Class 12 Mathematics (860) for Greater Noida students has an 80-mark written paper and 20 marks of project work. For the 2027 and 2028 papers, all seven units are compulsory with no Section B or C, and calculus carries 35 of the 80 marks. A visiting examiner conducts the project viva, and the subject cannot be paired with Applied Mathematics.
A Class 12 student in Greater Noida usually needs one specialist per weak subject, and rarely more than two. By Class 12, each subject has its own board paper, practical or coursework rules and entrance treatment, which an all-subject tutor seldom covers well. Use first-term results and early mocks to decide which subject gets the budget.
Yes, a home tutor in Greater Noida works alongside a Class 12 coaching batch if each does a different job. Coaching supplies the entrance timetable, test series and ranking; the tutor clears backlogged doubts, rescues a lagging subject and practises board-style writing. Book the tutor on an evening with no batch, so nobody is on the road twice.
A Greater Noida tutor can help with a Class 12 IA, project or Extended Essay only within limits: explaining ideas, walking through criteria and challenging an argument. Choosing the question, drafting or rewriting any part is not acceptable on any board. Ask each tutor at the demo where they draw that line, and expect a clear answer.
For a Greater Noida Class 12 student, the tutor covers the longest chapters first, from April, and closes each chapter with written and objective sets. From October, whole board papers run against the clock before the pre-boards. From January nothing new is taught, and each board paper is revised in turn. Only official notices give dates, so check them each year.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
