Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

After the Class 10 results, Class 11 can feel like a pause: the exam at the end is set by the school, and the board exams are two years away. In practice it is the year in which most of the Class 12 syllabus, and most of what JEE, NEET and CUET test, is first taught. In Greater Noida the year can mean CBSE, the UP Board's two-year Intermediate, ISC, the IB Diploma or Cambridge A Levels, and each sets it up differently. The guide is co-written by Ajay Vatsyayan, who covers ISC and IB maths for NXTutors, and the NXTutors Academic Team. It compares the boards, sets out what the UP Board publishes for Class 11, places the national entrance tests in the year, shows where tuition pays off in each stream, and explains how to fit a tutor around school, coaching and the city's long evening journeys.
A high Class 10 score says little about how the first Class 11 test will go. Four things change at once:
Maths, the subject Ajay Vatsyayan writes on for NXTutors, shows the problem most clearly: almost every Class 12 calculus chapter assumes that Class 11 functions, trigonometry and limits are secure. A tutor's main job this year is to make sure they are.
| Board | Shape of the course | Rules worth knowing | Tutor's first task |
|---|---|---|---|
| CBSE | One course spanning Classes 11 and 12, with at least five subjects | Mathematics (041) and Applied Mathematics (241) cannot be taken together; maths is 80 + 20, the three sciences 70 theory + 30 practical, accountancy, business studies and economics 80 + 20 | NCERT depth, and a practical record kept up from the first lab |
| UP Board Intermediate | Year one of Intermediate; the board's own exam comes after Class 12 | The board fixes the subject list, codes and books, all on upmsp.edu.in | The set textbook, taught in Hindi or English as the student will write, month by month |
| ISC | Compulsory English with three, four or five electives (a maximum of six) | No subject changes after 15 September of Class 11; the pass mark is 35% | Pace: long syllabuses, every step shown |
| IB Diploma, year one | A subject from each of six groups, three or four of them HL, plus TOK, an Extended Essay capped at 4,000 words, and CAS | CAS lasts 18 months or longer | Higher Level rigour; feedback on criteria, never drafting |
| Cambridge AS and A Level | AS first, inside a two-year A Level | Confirm with school whether AS is examined after Class 11 | Syllabus-code past papers from the start |
Each board has its own Greater Noida page: CBSE, the UP Board, ICSE and ISC, and the IB. ISC maths students can also use the national ISC maths page.
The Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, follows a 10+2 pattern, with the Intermediate examination at the end of Class 12. Class 11 students are registered with the board through the school, and the board's site lists the Class 11 syllabus subject by subject, each with a code. The ones Greater Noida families ask about most often:
| Stream | Subjects and codes |
|---|---|
| Science | Physics 151, Chemistry 152, Biology 153, Maths 131 |
| Commerce | Accountancy 156, Business Studies 157, Economics 136 |
| Languages and others | Hindi 101, General Hindi 102, English 117, Computer 144, and many humanities and arts subjects |
| Agriculture | A group of agriculture subjects, including agronomy and agricultural physics |
| Vocational | A separate list of trade subjects for Class 11 |
Three working rules follow. The board's set book comes before any help book or batch module, and it is taught in the language the student will write the paper in. The academic calendar on the board's site splits each Class 11 subject into months, so a tutor can tell within a few weeks whether school is on track. And a student who also sits JEE or NEET should meet each topic in two forms: the long, set-out Intermediate answer and the fast multiple-choice version.
For many science and commerce students the national tests set the pace from the first week. The figures below come from the 2026 official documents and can change; read them as orientation and check the current year's bulletin.
| Test | Conducted by | 2026 shape | What Class 11 should lay down |
|---|---|---|---|
| JEE (Main) | National Testing Agency | Held twice in the year; 75 questions across PCM in three hours, 300 marks in all, +4 for right and −1 for wrong | Secure functions, mechanics and mole concept; restraint on guesswork |
| NEET (UG) | National Testing Agency | A single pen-and-paper sitting: 180 questions in 180 minutes for 720 marks, with biology half the paper | NCERT biology read line by line, and physics numericals every week |
| CUET (UG) | National Testing Agency | Entry to undergraduate courses at Central Universities and others that opt in | Wide reading, organised writing, and maths or applied maths if chosen |
Our JEE and NEET pages for Greater Noida describe how a home tutor works alongside coaching, while commerce and humanities students can start with our CUET guide. For each year's dates and pattern, the NTA sites for JEE (Main), NEET (UG) and CUET (UG) are the only reliable source.
| Stream | First call on tuition time | Further reading |
|---|---|---|
| Science with maths | Maths, because sets, relations, trigonometric functions and limits arrive in quick succession; then physics, especially vectors and the laws of motion | Our maths and physics pages; Class 11 maths |
| Science with biology | Physics usually lags behind a comfortable biology; next, the numerical side of chemistry | Our chemistry and biology pages for the city |
| Commerce | Accountancy, since every later topic depends on clean entries from the first chapters; then economics statistics | Commerce, accountancy and economics in Greater Noida |
| Humanities | A few sessions a term on structuring and self-marking essays, not weekly tuition | English tutors in Greater Noida |
One or two subject tutors is the sensible ceiling. A third, on top of school and an entrance batch, swallows the solo practice hours that actually raise marks. If the stream itself is still undecided, our stream choice guide weighs the options.
With most Greater Noida schools opening in April, this plan carries a student to the summer break and a little beyond. The Class 12 home tutors in Greater Noida page takes it on to the final year.
| Zone | Tutor's route | Slot that tends to work |
|---|---|---|
| Greater Noida West | By road from nearby towers; no metro in the belt | Late-evening online on coaching days, a home visit at the weekend |
| Alpha–Delta and Pari Chowk | Aqua Line to ALPHA 1 or DELTA 1 | Later weekday slots are realistic here, since the metro and e-rickshaws keep running |
| Omega, Chi and Phi | Metro to Pari Chowk or Knowledge Park II, or a two-wheeler | Before the office rush at Pari Chowk, or online |
| Pi, Sigma and Sectors 36–37 | DELTA 1 and an auto, or a scooter from Pi or Kasna | Afternoons or early evenings off the Surajpur–Kasna road peak |
| Zeta and Eta | GNIDA Office and an auto; local tutors from Zeta, Eta or Delta | A local tutor for one subject, an online specialist for the other |
| Omicron, Mu and Xu | Two-wheeler from Omicron, Mu, Xu or Sigma | Early evening at home; online once coaching ends late |
Senior students usually settle into online lessons quickly. On coaching days a video session may be the only way to fit tuition in, and for narrow subjects, HL maths or ISC physics for example, the strongest tutor may be in another city. Keep visits for a student who loses focus on screen or works better with someone beside them through long problem sets. Many families mix the two: short online sessions on weeknights and a longer home session at the weekend, with the tutor seeing every line of working. Our home and online tutor comparison goes further.
The first class is free; treat it as an interview as much as a lesson. A strong demo includes:
If it is not right, another shortlisted tutor can give a separate demo, and changing tutor during the year is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. What moves a Class 11 fee: the subject, the board, any JEE or NEET depth, the trip at your hour, and how often you book. Tutors set their own fees, shown on your shortlist before the demo. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Greater Noida.
Sigma 1, out towards Kasna, is still largely residential plots with houses, villas and a few apartment complexes; metro riders use DELTA 1 and an auto, so a tutor coming from the Expressway side should allow for the Surajpur–Kasna road. Mu 2 is known for flats built under the authority's own housing scheme, and residents mention easy cabs and autos, so even a tutor without a vehicle can reach you from GNIDA Office station. Zeta 1 has neat blocks and wide roads with a mix of society flats, villas and houses; local buses link it to Pari Chowk and the Alpha and Delta sectors, though most tutors still take an auto for the last stretch.
Sector 16B in Greater Noida West is mid-segment societies by Ek Murti Chowk, and plenty of tutors already teach in the surrounding sectors, which helps when you need a regular weeknight slot. Beta 2 is a fully occupied plotted sector whose residents rate public transport and safety at night, so a later session after coaching is workable; with many student tenants nearby, judge a tutor on board-exam experience at the demo rather than by word of mouth. Chi 5, on the Noida Sector 150 border, is high-rise societies where every visit starts at the gate and earlier timings beat the evening traffic near Pari Chowk.

Yes, online tuition suits most Class 11 students in Greater Noida, especially on coaching days when a video session may be the only slot. For narrow subjects such as HL maths or ISC physics, the strongest tutor may live in another city. Keep home visits for a student who loses focus on screen; many families mix weeknight online with a weekend home session.
Class 11 marks drop for many strong Class 10 students in Greater Noida because the subjects become abstract, chapters move faster and old gaps surface at once. School, coaching and long evening journeys also leave less time for solo practice. Because the Class 11 exam is internal, a weak year is easy to excuse, but Class 12 builds directly on it.
A Greater Noida tutor can teach the UP Board Class 11 science subjects, Physics 151, Chemistry 152, Biology 153 and Maths 131, and the commerce ones. Commerce means Accountancy 156, Business Studies 157 and Economics 136. The board also lists Hindi, English, Computer, agriculture and vocational subjects on upmsp.edu.in. Check your child's registered subjects with the school.
No, a Greater Noida CBSE Class 11 student cannot take Mathematics (041) and Applied Mathematics (241) together under the 2026-27 senior secondary curriculum. The course runs across Classes 11 and 12 with at least five subjects. Maths carries 80 theory and 20 internal marks, while physics, chemistry and biology are 70 theory and 30 practical.
ISC Class 11 subjects are fixed for Greater Noida students on 15 September of Class 11, after which CISCE regulations allow no change. A student takes English plus three to five electives, six subjects at most, and each subject needs 35% to pass. Settle the combination with the school early in the first term.
Class 11 tuition in Greater Noida should cover JEE or NEET and the board together, because the same chapters underpin both. A sound tutor teaches a topic once and practises it twice: as a full written board answer and as a timed objective question. Take exam patterns only from the official NTA sites for the current year.
A Class 11 student in Greater Noida usually needs one or two subject tutors at most. Science students with maths often start with maths, then physics; biology students with physics; commerce students with accountancy. A third tutor, added to school and coaching, tends to swallow the solo practice time that actually raises marks.
The first twelve weeks of Class 11 tuition in Greater Noida should run from a diagnostic to repair, then the hard chapters, then a review. Weeks 1 and 2 check Class 10 skills such as factorising and balancing equations. Weeks 7 to 10 slow down at functions and the laws of motion, and weeks 11 and 12 review the first school test.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
