Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Sigma 1 is a sector of plots and houses on the Kasna side of Greater Noida, and OpenStreetMap also labels it Sector 42. That dual naming, the absence of society gates in most streets, and a longer trip from the metro are the three things that shape tuition here. The sections below take each one in turn.
| Question | For Sigma 1, Greater Noida |
|---|---|
| City and zone | Greater Noida proper, Pi, Sigma & Sectors 36–37 zone |
| Other name you may see | Sector 42 (OpenStreetMap shows ‘Sector 42 Sigma 1’) |
| Typical home | An independent house on an authority plot; some villas and a few apartment complexes |
| Blocks named on listings | Block A and Block B |
| Next to | Sigma 2, Sigma 3, Sector 36 and Kasna; Sigma 4 and Sector 41 are close |
| Road names on the map | First Meridian, along the sector; the Surajpur–Kasna road and Kasna Road nearby |
| Metro | No station inside; Delta 1 on the Aqua Line is the usual stop, then road |
| Mapped just to the south | A UP Roadways bus stand and a CNG station; an industrial plant lies south-west |
Sigma 1 is plotted housing first. Property portals describe much of the land as residential plots, with standalone houses, villas and only a few apartment complexes. So most homes here are individual houses rather than flats, each with its own entrance and its own arrangements for visitors.
Listings name Block A and Block B, and rental pages show independent homes, villas and some studio flats. Rooms and small units in houses are let out, so a single plot can hold the owner's family on one floor and tenants on another.
Because the sector is still filling in, you will see finished houses next to open plots and homes under construction. That gives Sigma 1 a quiet feel compared with the tower-lined sectors nearer Pari Chowk, but it also means street numbering can be hard for a newcomer to follow.
The sector has two names in circulation. In 2022, Greater Noida's Authority gave in-principle approval to a proposal to replace Greek-letter sector names with numbers, with the old name kept in brackets on lease deeds. OpenStreetMap already labels Sigma 1 as Sector 42, and Sigma 2 as Sector 43. Some families use one name and some the other, so a tutor may hear either.
Kasna, just beyond the sector, supplies banks, ATMs and shops, so most errands do not need a trip towards Pari Chowk.
Public reviews about Sigma 1 itself are scarce. The themes below come mostly from reviews of neighbouring Kasna, whose roads Sigma 1 families also use, and we have turned each into planning advice.
Kasna reviewers on Square Yards say potholes on the Surajpur–Kasna road get worse in the monsoon and that poor drainage causes waterlogging. From July to September, keep an online session in reserve for heavy-rain evenings, so a lesson is moved rather than missed.
Reviewers also mention vendors and autos crowding Kasna Road. A tutor who knows the internal roads through Sector 36 or the Sigma sectors can avoid that stretch, which is one more reason to prefer a tutor from close by.
The same reviews describe public transport as reasonable in the day but thin after about half past nine at night. For a tutor relying on autos or buses, end the session well before then.
Plotted streets are calmer than busy townships, and a house usually has a spare room, which makes a regular tuition corner easy to set up.
Most tutors come to Sigma 1 by road. The sector sits south of Sector 36, with Sigma 2 to its north-east and Sigma 3 to its south-east on OpenStreetMap, and a road the map names First Meridian runs along it. Kasna and its main road lie just beyond.
No Aqua Line station is inside the Sigma sectors. Delta 1, in Block A of Delta I, is the stop tutors usually use, and the last part of the trip is by auto or e-rickshaw. Because that last leg is longer than in sectors nearer Pari Chowk, a tutor who depends on the metro will usually prefer a fixed slot that also suits their return trip.
A UP Roadways bus stand is mapped just south of Sigma 1, and so is a CNG filling station, useful landmarks when giving directions from the Kasna side. Many tutors who teach in plotted sectors ride a two-wheeler, which makes it easy to string together visits in Sigma 1, Sigma 2 and Sector 36 on one evening.
Write both names, ‘Sigma 1 (Sector 42)’, in your message, add the block letter and house number, and drop a map pin. Mention a fixed landmark such as the nearest corner park or a finished house with a distinctive gate, since open plots nearby look much the same.
Tutors from Sector 36, Sigma 2, Sigma 3 and Pi tend to have the shortest trips. A tutor from Greater Noida West or Noida has a long ride, which is better suited to weekend sessions or a home-and-online mix.
In most of Sigma 1 there is no society gate, so the tutor comes straight to your door. That makes entry easy, but a few things still need thought.
If you would prefer a woman tutor, ask when you request; our home tuition by women tutors in Greater Noida page explains how this works. Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check, and their badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID, as explained on our ID check page. It is not a police or background check, so do meet the tutor at the free demo.
Sigma 1 families most often ask for CBSE, while UP Board and ICSE requests come up as well. Requests for IB or Cambridge IGCSE are rarer and usually suit an online specialist.
A house with a spare room lets a tutor spread out maps, lab diagrams and past papers on a table and leave them for the next class, which helps in subjects like geography and biology. For UP Board, Hindi-medium or English-medium matters a great deal, so say which in the request; our UP Board tutors in Greater Noida page has more. Official notices are on upmsp.edu.in. For a side-by-side comparison of boards, see our board comparison guide.
For young children in a quiet plotted street, a consistent time and place matter more than length. Thirty to forty-five minutes on most weekdays works better than one long weekend class. Ask the tutor to read with your child every session and to set small, checkable tasks.
This stage is about habits: neat working in maths, regular reading and learning science words properly. One tutor for several subjects is usual. If the long ride limits how often a tutor can come, two visits plus one online check-in a week can work well.
Specialist help usually begins here. Families in Sigma 1 often pick a maths or science tutor first; our Class 10 home tutors in Greater Noida page covers board-year planning. Ask the tutor to map the full syllabus against months, with test dates written in.
Senior students here face a long trip to any coaching centre, often by road through Kasna or to the metro. A home tutor who covers board subjects at home, and an online tutor for specialist topics, can cut that travel. For physics in particular, see our physics tuition at home page.
Use only the boards' own notices on cbse.gov.in, cisce.org and upmsp.edu.in for dates. Board exams fall after the monsoon, but pre-board tests and practicals can clash with winter weddings and holidays, so fix revision sessions with your tutor by November. Keep late sessions to a minimum if the tutor travels by public transport, and move to online classes for the last week if travel would cut into sleep.
Home tuition suits Sigma 1's houses: no gate to clear, a spare room in most homes and no evening travel for the child. The catch is that fewer tutors live close by than in busier sectors, so the matched tutor may come from Sector 36 or Pi.
Online tuition makes most sense here for specialist subjects and for monsoon weeks when roads are poor. Check your connection and power backup during the free demo. Our online classes for Greater Noida students page explains the set-up.
A centre means a regular road trip, usually towards Pari Chowk or Knowledge Park. Some families accept that for entrance coaching and keep a home tutor for school subjects.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
The class, board and subject set most of a tutor's quote, then the session length and how many visits a week you want. In Sigma 1, travel counts for more than in central sectors: a tutor from Sector 36 or Sigma 2 has a short ride, while one coming by metro and auto may ask for fewer, longer sessions to make the trip worthwhile.
Ask before you start what the fee includes, such as tests, notes and a make-up class, and how rain-cancelled evenings are handled. You can read each matched tutor's fee on the profile ahead of the free demo, so comparing them takes no visit at all.
We found no sourced public library or reading room in Sigma 1, so none is listed. In a plotted house, a ground-floor room away from the road is often the quietest spot for tuition. If construction is going on next door, ask the tutor to bring the session indoors to the side of the house facing away from the work, or switch that week's class online.

AI-first tutoring, with real teachers
You tell us the class, board, subject and where in Sigma 1 you live. Our AI does the slow part of the search and returns two or three tutors who fit, not a long list to scroll. You see each tutor's fee before the free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Where AI stops and people start
Move out to the wider area or in to nearby sectors. Tutors usually travel short distances, so the closest areas are the most useful places to look.
Distances are straight-line estimates between sector centres from OpenStreetMap data; the road route is usually longer.

The free demo is your clearest chance to judge a tutor, so go in with a plan. For a student in Sigma 1, pick one topic that has been causing real trouble, perhaps a Chemistry chapter or an English essay, and ask the tutor to teach it. Watch closely how they check your child's understanding, not only how well they speak.
To set that up, write to us with your child's class, board and subjects. Two or three tutors will come back to you, each fee visible before the demo. If your child is on UP Board, which runs both the High School and Intermediate exams, say which year; IGCSE students should list their subjects.
Tutors who live in Sigma 1 or who travel there are listed first on this page. Others follow from Pi 1, Pi 2, Sector 36, Sector 37 and the rest of the Pi, Sigma & Sectors 36–37 zone, then from across Greater Noida; beyond the city, a home tutor living in Ghaziabad or another NCR city may appear, and online tutors after them. Every card gives its own reason. For NEET aspirants, our NEET home tutors page is worth a look.
