What home tuition costs in Greater Noida

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Class 9 home tutors in Greater Noida: setting up the two-year run to the Class 10 exam

Class 9 is the year that looks optional and is not. The marks never reach a board certificate, yet the Class 10 paper on every board takes the Class 9 chapters for granted. In Greater Noida, where students may be heading for the CBSE or ICSE Class 10 exams, the UP Board's High School examination or Cambridge IGCSE papers, the first unit tests of the year are often the first sign that the jump from Class 8 was bigger than it looked. This page is written by Abhinandan Tiwary, our author for Class 9 and 10 maths on CBSE and ICSE, and Aaditya Kashyap, our CBSE and ICSE science author. It covers what each board does with the year, how a UP Board student should use the board's own material, the early warning signs, a plan that follows the school calendar, and how tutors reach each of the city's zones.

What actually rides on Class 9?

Three things. First, content: the algebra, geometry and introductory physics and chemistry of Class 9 are the floor on which Class 10 is built, and on most boards the two years form a single course. Second, habits: a student who learns to write full working and revise from an error log this year carries both into the board year. Third, decisions: several boards ask students to settle subjects or options during Class 9, and those choices are hard to reverse.

In hindsight the slide is easy to trace: strong Class 8 marks, then a run of weak unit tests over the summer, a hope that things will right themselves, and a first-term result that exposes four or five chapters at once. A few months of targeted help early in the year costs far less, in money and stress, than a rescue in Class 10. For the years before, see our Class 6 to 8 tutors in Greater Noida.

How does each board treat Class 9?

Class 9 on the boards Greater Noida students follow
BoardWho assesses Class 9Choices this yearWhere a tutor helps most
CBSE (2026-27)School-based marks, internal plus a year-end exam, inside a combined Class 9 and 10 syllabusOpting in or out of the Advanced maths or science paper, a 25-mark, one-hour test that the board sets in Class 10 from 2027-28 without counting it in the total; R3Fluency with NCERT's new Class 9 titles, Ganita Manjari (maths) and Exploration (science), and frank advice on Advanced
ICSEThe school sets the final exam; promotion needs 33% in five subjects including English, and 75% attendanceSubjects are fixed after 15 September of Class 9; each subject is 80% external and 20% internalCovering a broad syllabus and keeping project work on schedule
UP Board (UPMSP)The school, during year one of High SchoolHigh School subjects and the medium of the paper; the school registers Class 9 students with the boardWorking through the prescribed books, in the paper's language, with the board's own practice material
Cambridge IGCSENothing external yet; the course for 14 to 16 year olds is examined only when it endsTier entry later, such as Core or Extended in maths 0580Building towards Extended where the student can handle it
IB MYP Year 4The school, against the MYP criteriaThe school may cut eight subject groups to six across Years 4 and 5Reading the criteria early, since the personal project follows in Year 5

Board detail for the city sits on our CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE pages, and the national Class 9 maths and Class 9 science pages list chapters.

How should a UP Board Class 9 student use the board's own material?

Greater Noida is in Uttar Pradesh, and the state board, the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, has run a 10+2 system since it was set up at Prayagraj in 1921: the High School examination after ten years of school and the Intermediate after twelve. Class 9 opens the High School course, and the board's website, upmsp.edu.in, publishes more for this class than many families realise:

  1. Subject syllabi with codes. Class 9 maths is listed as 928, science as 931 and social science as 932, alongside Hindi, Elementary Hindi, English, Sanskrit, computer and a long list of other languages and vocational subjects. Ask the school which codes your child is registered for.
  2. A month-wise syllabus. The academic calendar section has separate Class 9 files for maths, science, social science, Hindi and others, showing what should be taught in which month. A tutor can use it to spot falling behind within weeks.
  3. A question bank. Class 9 question banks are posted subject by subject, including maths, science, English and Hindi. They are the closest thing to the board's own voice at this stage.
  4. Model papers. The model paper section is arranged by class and subject code, and is worth working through once the syllabus is covered.

Much of the content overlaps with what CBSE students learn, but the question style and the medium can differ, so tell us both. Always use the versions currently on the board's site rather than an older guide book. Our new UP Board tutors in Greater Noida page covers the board from Class 9 to 12.

Which early signs should prompt a demo?

The first-term report comes late. These signals usually appear by July or August:

  • In maths: geometry steps written without reasons, or algebra that collapses when a question is worded differently from the book.
  • In science: numerical questions skipped, formulas memorised but not applied, diagrams with no labels.
  • In the routine: homework stretching late into the night, or copied from a solutions book.
  • In avoidance: one subject quietly dropped from self-study with a plan to "catch up next year".

If you see two at once, book a demo rather than waiting for the report card. Keep the help narrow: one or two subjects, nearly always maths and science, because a third tutor eats the evenings a student needs for solo practice.

How should a tutor plan the Class 9 year?

Most Greater Noida schools start the session in April, as CBSE schools do, and many hold first-term exams around September. A plan that fits that calendar:

The Class 9 year from April: school's pace and the tutor's job
StretchAt schoolThe tutor's job
April to JuneOpening chapters, first unit tests, then the summer breakTest Class 8 algebra, fractions and basic science vocabulary; use the break to move one chapter ahead
July to SeptemberThe heavier chapters and the first-term examA short weekly test, an error log, and a list of chapters to return to
October to DecemberSecond-term teaching, projects and practicalsRepair the three weakest chapters and keep internal work on time
January to MarchRevision and the final school examTimed papers, then a short list of topics to fix in the holidays

Use the short break after the final exam to close the gaps on that list before the board year; the Class 10 tutors in Greater Noida page takes the plan forward.

How do tutors reach Class 9 students in each zone?

Class 9 visits across Greater Noida: how tutors come and what to agree in advance
ZoneHow tutors comeAgree in advance
Greater Noida WestBike, car or shared auto; the nearest metro is Noida Sector 51Gate approval and the tower and flat number
Alpha–Delta and Pari ChowkAqua Line to Pari Chowk, ALPHA 1, DELTA 1 or GNIDA OfficeWhere to be dropped if your block is near the Jagat Farm market
Omega, Chi and PhiTwo-wheeler, or metro and an e-rickshawA slot slightly ahead of the office rush at Pari Chowk
Pi, Sigma and Sectors 36–37A tutor from nearby plotted sectors, or DELTA 1 and an autoA landmark for newer streets and where to park
Zeta and EtaA tutor from Zeta, Eta or Delta; Boraki and Dadri rail for someA plan for days when the tutor cannot get an auto
Omicron, Mu and XuTwo-wheeler, since buses rarely enter the plotted sectorsConfirm the tutor's vehicle before fixing weekday slots

Should a Class 9 student also join a JEE or NEET foundation batch?

A foundation course is a stretch, not a repair. It reworks school chapters at entrance difficulty, which can energise a student already scoring well and bury one who is not. Fix school maths and science first. Where a child is already enrolled, ask the tutor to teach in step with the batch while still marking every answer the way the school exam will. Our JEE and NEET pages for Greater Noida explain where entrance preparation fits later.

Home or online for Class 9?

At fourteen most students handle a video lesson without trouble, and it opens the search to specialists, an IGCSE science or ICSE maths tutor say, based nowhere near your sector. Choose visits instead if your child loses focus on screen or works better with an adult beside them through long numericals. Whatever the format, the tutor should watch the working appear, not just the final answer. A weekend visit with longer written practice and a shorter online session midweek suits many Greater Noida families, and it also covers evenings when Pari Chowk or Gaur Chowk is jammed.

What should you ask at the Class 9 demo?

The first class with the tutor you choose is free. Five questions worth putting to them:

  1. "What do you need from us before the next class?" Listen for a request for marked tests and last year's report.
  2. "What is new on our board this year?" A CBSE tutor should raise the new NCERT titles and the Advanced choice; an ICSE tutor the September subject cut-off; a UP Board tutor the board's monthly plan, question banks and subject codes.
  3. "Can you explain that another way?" A good tutor switches to a diagram or a different example rather than repeating the same words louder.
  4. "How will we measure progress?" Expect fortnightly mini-tests and a stated goal for September.
  5. "How will you get here at this hour?" In Greater Noida, an honest answer about the route matters as much as subject knowledge.

If the fit is wrong, another tutor from your shortlist can give a separate demo, and changing later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID.

What do Class 9 tutors charge in Greater Noida?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Class 9 quote moves with the board, the number of subjects, the tutor's route at your time and how often you book. Every tutor prices their own sessions, and the fee is on your shortlist before the demo. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Greater Noida.

Where we match Class 9 tutors in Greater Noida

Sector 36 is privately owned houses on wide roads, with no township blocks, and resident reviews are more mixed than in the older sectors, so agree timings clearly at the demo. Omicron 3 combines societies with plotted houses: in a society the tutor registers with security, in the plotted blocks they come to the door, and most arrive by two-wheeler or by metro and shared auto. In Xu 3, a mid-budget sector of houses on plots, residents point to few shops and little public transport, so check at the demo that the tutor rides their own vehicle.

Sector 10 in Greater Noida West is mostly three- and four-bedroom flats in societies, some towers still under construction, so share a pin and approve the tutor on the visitor app. Alpha 2 is plotted blocks of houses and floors with a main market, and residents rate the metro and autos well, which widens the pool to tutors who ride in from elsewhere on the Aqua Line. In Chi 3, plotted lanes and a few societies sit in the middle of the Chi–Phi belt, where an early-evening timing is safer because Pari Chowk congestion can delay later classes.

If only one subject needs help, start with our maths or science pages for Greater Noida. Class 9 Home Tutor in Greater Noida: common questions

How does NXTutors line up Class 9 tutors for a Greater Noida family?

To book a Class 9 home tutor in Greater Noida, send NXTutors the board, medium, subjects, your sector and free evenings. We send two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, another shortlisted tutor can give a separate demo, and switching tutor later is free.

What do Class 9 home tutors in Greater Noida charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Class 9 quote in Greater Noida moves with the board, number of subjects, the tutor's route at your time and sessions a week. Each fee is on your shortlist before the free demo.

Can a Greater Noida Class 9 student learn well over video lessons?

Online tuition suits most Class 9 students in Greater Noida, because at fourteen they handle video lessons well and it opens the search to specialists from other sectors. Choose home visits if your child loses focus on screen or needs an adult beside them through long numericals. A weekend home visit plus a shorter midweek online session suits many families.

Is Class 9 examined by the board for Greater Noida students?

No, Greater Noida students on CBSE, ICSE or the UP Board are assessed by the school in Class 9, the first year of a two-year course. That course ends in the Class 10 or High School exam. Because the board paper assumes Class 9 content, weak chapters this year usually cost marks a year later.

What is the optional Advanced paper in CBSE Class 9 for Greater Noida students?

For Greater Noida CBSE students, the optional Advanced paper is a one-hour, 25-mark test of higher-order questions in maths or science, from 2026-27. Class 9 maths and science are otherwise taught at a common standard. The board examines Advanced in Class 10 from 2027-28 and does not add it to the aggregate.

What does the UP Board publish for Class 9 students in Greater Noida?

For Class 9 students in Greater Noida, the UP Board posts subject syllabi with codes on upmsp.edu.in, such as 928 for maths and 931 for science. It also posts a month-wise syllabus, subject question banks and model papers. A UP Board tutor should work from these, in the medium your child writes the paper in.

Can ICSE Class 9 students in Greater Noida change subjects?

ICSE Class 9 students in Greater Noida can change subjects only early, because CISCE regulations for the ICSE year 2028 bar changes after 15 September of Class 9. Promotion to Class 10 needs 33% in five subjects including English, plus 75% attendance. Settle subject choices with the school in the first term.

Is April too early to begin Class 9 tuition in Greater Noida?

No, April is the ideal time to begin Class 9 tuition in Greater Noida, because most schools open the session then. Warning signs such as skipped numericals, geometry without reasons or late-night homework usually show by July or August. If you see two at once, book a demo rather than waiting for the report card.

Should a Class 9 student in Greater Noida join a JEE or NEET foundation batch?

A Class 9 student in Greater Noida should join a JEE or NEET foundation batch only if school maths and science are already secure. Foundation courses rework school chapters at entrance difficulty, which energises a confident student but buries a struggling one. If your child is enrolled, the tutor should still mark answers the way the school exam will.

How many Class 9 subjects should a Greater Noida student take tuition in?

Most Class 9 students in Greater Noida should keep tuition to one or two subjects, nearly always maths and science. A third tutor eats the evenings a student needs for solo practice. Keep the help narrow and targeted, with a short weekly test and an error log, so the weakest chapters are fixed before the board year.

Which questions reveal a strong Class 9 tutor at the Greater Noida demo?

At the free demo, ask a Class 9 tutor in Greater Noida what is new on your board this year, and how they will reach you at your hour. A CBSE tutor should raise the new NCERT titles and the Advanced choice; an ICSE tutor the September cut-off; a UP Board tutor the monthly plan and question banks.
