Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

IB Diploma physics asks for more than solving textbook problems. Students interpret unfamiliar data, judge uncertainties, write short explanations in precise language and plan an investigation of their own. A tutor who has only taught board-exam physics will cover the content but may miss the skills the IB marks. In Greater Noida, where IB families are a smaller group and IB physics specialists fewer, finding the right tutor often means combining home and online sessions. The NXTutors Academic Team sets out below the course, the papers, the internal assessment and the practical side of getting a specialist to your door. It belongs with our physics home tutors in Greater Noida page and the IB tutors in Greater Noida hub.
The current IB physics guide, first assessed in 2025, organises the course into five themes rather than a long list of chapters. SL takes 150 teaching hours and HL 240, and the extra HL time goes into specific additional topics.
| Theme | What it covers | HL-only topic |
|---|---|---|
| A. Space, time and motion | Kinematics, forces, work and energy, momentum | A.4 rigid body mechanics; A.5 Galilean and special relativity |
| B. The particulate nature of matter | Thermal energy, gases, greenhouse effect, circuits | B.4 thermodynamics |
| C. Wave behaviour | Oscillations, waves, wave phenomena, standing waves, Doppler effect | Additional depth within the theme |
| D. Fields | Gravitational, electric and magnetic fields, motion in fields | D.4 induction |
| E. Nuclear and quantum physics | Atomic structure, radioactivity, fission, fusion and stars | E.2 quantum physics |
The themes are meant to be linked, not studied in isolation, and exam questions often draw on two or three at once. A tutor should help the student see those links, for example between energy in Theme A and fields in Theme D. The national physics home tutor page and our guide to IB physics at SL and HL go further.
| Component | SL | HL | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper 1A: multiple choice | 25 questions | 40 questions | 36% together; 1 h 30 min at SL, 2 h at HL |
| Paper 1B: data-based questions | 20 marks | 20 marks | |
| Paper 2: structured questions | 1 h 30 min, 55 marks | 2 h 30 min, 90 marks | 44% |
| Internal assessment | 24 marks | 24 marks | 20% |
Calculators and the IB data booklet are allowed on both papers, and wrong answers in the multiple-choice section carry no penalty, so a student should never leave one blank. Paper 1A rewards speed and clear concepts; Paper 2 rewards structured working and short, precise explanations. A tutor should practise both, separately, under time.
Paper 1B presents data from an experiment and asks the student to read graphs, process numbers and comment on uncertainties. Students used to board-exam physics often find this the hardest part, because the context is unfamiliar and there is no chapter to recall. A tutor builds the skills gradually:
The same skills feed straight into the internal assessment, so time spent here pays twice.
The IA is a scientific investigation worth 20% of the grade. The IB allows about ten hours for it and sets a maximum of 3,000 words. It is marked on four criteria of six marks each: research design, data analysis, conclusion and evaluation. Students may work in groups of up to three, but each must have their own research question and must not share raw data. Data can come from lab work, fieldwork, spreadsheets, databases or simulations.
Teaching the physics behind the student's idea. Practising data processing and uncertainty analysis on other examples. Explaining what each criterion rewards. Asking questions that help the student refine their own research question.
Choosing the research question. Designing the method. Processing the student's data, drawing their graphs or writing or editing any part of the report. The student should tell their physics teacher about outside tutoring, in line with the IB's academic-integrity rules.
The course also includes a collaborative sciences project across the science subjects, which the school organises.
Many problems in IB physics are really maths problems: rearranging equations, handling powers of ten, working with vectors and trigonometry, and reading rates from graphs. Students on IB Maths Applications and Interpretation may need extra support with algebraic manipulation, while Analysis and Approaches students usually have it. If the physics trouble is really a maths gap, the tutor should say so. Our IB maths tutors in Greater Noida page covers the maths courses.
Students who join the Diploma from CBSE or the UP Board usually know more formulas than they need and are strong at numerical problems. They tend to need help with data questions, uncertainty and writing short explanations in the IB's precise language. ICSE students write well but may need more practice with graphs. IGCSE students know the style of practical questions from Paper 5 or 6 and adjust fastest, though the step up in mathematics is real; our IGCSE physics tutors in Greater Noida page covers that stage.
Take a ninety-minute session as the example; it divides naturally. It opens with a handful of Paper 1A questions on last week's theme, done against the clock, because speed on multiple choice decays quickly without practice. The core of the session is the school's current topic, taught through a Paper 2 style problem that the tutor and student work through together, then a second the student does alone. The final stretch goes on one data exercise: a table of readings to plot, a gradient to find with its uncertainty, a sentence on what limits the result. Every few weeks, the data exercise is replaced by a full Paper 1B question under time. The tutor keeps a short record of which themes are secure, and that record becomes the revision plan in DP2.
Pi, Sigma and Sectors 36–37 and Omicron, Mu and Xu are covered on the Greater Noida home tutors page, which lists every locality.
Physics translates to online sessions better than many parents expect. Simulations make fields, waves and circuits visible, a shared spreadsheet is ideal for practising data processing and uncertainty, and past-paper work only needs a camera on the student's page. What online cannot easily replace is the tutor watching a student set out a long Paper 2 answer in real time, so the most common arrangement is a home session for problem-solving and an online session for data skills and review. Our home versus online comparison covers the wider choice.
| Stage | Focus | Typical rhythm |
|---|---|---|
| DP1, first term | Kinematics and forces with clean algebra; first uncertainty and graph work | One a week |
| DP1, later terms | Keeping pace with school; Paper 1B style data questions every few weeks | One or two a week |
| IA period | Physics behind the idea; data-processing practice on other examples; criteria explained | As needed, within the rules |
| DP2 | Fields, nuclear and quantum physics; HL topics; mixed-theme questions | One or two a week |
| Before mocks and finals | Timed Papers 1A, 1B and 2; error log by theme | Two or three a week |

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. HL work and longer journeys generally cost more than SL work close to home. The tutor fixes the fee, and it is on your shortlist before any demo; our pricing guide and the Greater Noida tuition fees post cover the details.
Tell us SL or HL, DP1 or DP2, the themes that feel weak, your sector or society and when the student is free. You will hear back with two or three matched tutors and can book a free demo with one; moving to someone else later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check ahead of publication. After you request an IB physics tutor in Greater Noida, we shortlist two or three tutors matched on level, DP year and your sector. Each fee is shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free. Tell us the exam session so the tutor prepares from the right course.
IB physics home sessions are often possible in Greater Noida, particularly near the Aqua Line, though specialists are fewer than general physics tutors. We match on level and DP year first and the journey second. Where a specialist cannot travel every week, one home session and one online session with the same tutor works well.
For a Greater Noida IB physics student, Paper 1 carries 36 percent, Paper 2 carries 44 percent and the internal assessment the last 20 percent. Paper 1 mixes multiple choice (1A) with data-based questions (1B). The internal assessment is a scientific investigation marked out of 24, and calculators and the data booklet are allowed on both papers.
IB physics HL gives Greater Noida students 240 teaching hours against 150 at SL, extra topics and longer papers. HL adds rigid body mechanics, relativity, thermodynamics, induction and quantum physics, 40 multiple-choice questions instead of 25 and a 90-mark Paper 2 instead of 55. Both levels share the same internal assessment.
Many Greater Noida IB physics students find Paper 1B hard because it tests graphs, uncertainties and evaluation on an unfamiliar experiment rather than recall. Students from board-exam backgrounds often have not practised these skills. A tutor should set short data questions every few weeks from DP1, so the skills build steadily.
For a Greater Noida student's IB physics internal assessment, a tutor may teach the physics behind the idea, practise data processing on other examples and explain the four criteria. The tutor must not choose the research question, design the method, process the data or write any part of the report. The student should tell their teacher.
Online IB physics tuition is a sensible choice in Greater Noida for much of the course, especially simulations, data skills and past-paper review. Shared spreadsheets suit uncertainty practice, and past papers need only a camera on the page. Many families keep a home session for long Paper 2 answers and use online for data skills.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, with HL and travel to your sector moving the quote. You see it before the free demo.
Yes, you can request a woman IB physics tutor for home sessions in Greater Noida, and we shortlist from tutors who fit that and your child's level. IB physics specialists are fewer here, so a woman tutor teaching online, or a home and online mix, may widen the choice. Tutors who join go through an ID check.
