Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

The primary years set habits that last. A child who reads fluently by Class 3 and knows the times tables by Class 5 walks into middle school with confidence; a child who guesses at words and counts on fingers carries that strain into every later subject. A primary tutor in Ghaziabad is usually asked to do one of three things: fix a gap in reading or arithmetic, take the evening homework battle out of the house, or keep a bright child stretched. Each needs a slightly different person. This page from the NXTutors Academic Team explains what each class should cover, how the city's boards treat the primary years, where homework help ends and teaching begins, and how tutors reach the colonies on both sides of the Hindon.
Report cards at this age are kind, and a grade can hide a real gap. These everyday signs are more telling:
One sign alone is not a crisis. Two or three together, lasting a term, are worth acting on, and the earlier the better: a gap found in Class 2 takes weeks to close, while the same gap found in Class 6 can take a year.
| Class | Secure this year | Common trouble spot |
|---|---|---|
| Class 1 | Blending sounds into words, reading short sentences, numbers to 100, adding and taking away with objects | Letter reversals and guessing words from pictures |
| Class 2 | Reading short stories alone, writing a few connected sentences, place value, early multiplication as repeated adding | Tens and ones confused when carrying or borrowing |
| Class 3 | Reading for meaning, simple paragraphs, times tables up to 10, measurement and money, the basics of environmental studies | Word problems: the child can calculate but cannot tell which operation to use |
| Class 4 | Longer texts and comprehension, grammar in context, fractions, long multiplication, maps and the local environment | Fractions treated as two separate numbers rather than one quantity |
| Class 5 | Independent reading of chapter books, structured writing, decimals, division, area and perimeter, science and social studies vocabulary | The jump in reading load in every subject, which exposes weak comprehension |
Across all five years, strong primary tutors spend real time on reading. Comprehension decides science, social studies and maths word problems, so a child who reads well often lifts in every subject at once.
Our Ghaziabad city guide notes that CBSE is the most common board in Ghaziabad, ICSE has a steady following, a smaller group of schools offers the IB or Cambridge, and UP Board schools matter too. In primary classes the differences are mostly in books and teaching style rather than exams.
| Board or programme | What the official documents say | What the tutor should do |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE | Computational thinking and AI introduced for Classes III to VIII from 2026-27 | Work from the chapter the class is on in the school's own books; keep logic and pattern puzzles in the mix |
| ICSE schools | CISCE leaves Classes I to VIII to books chosen by each school | Ask for the actual book list and how much written English the class teacher expects |
| IB PYP | Ages 3 to 12, a transdisciplinary framework built on six themes, with the Exhibition in the final year | Support inquiry and research rather than drilling; help plan, never produce, the Exhibition work |
| Cambridge Primary | Typically ages 5 to 11, with optional assessments including Primary Checkpoint | Follow the school's stage objectives; use Checkpoint-style tasks only if the school enters students |
| UP Board schools | The Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad's published syllabi start at Class 9; it runs the High School and Intermediate exams | Follow the school's own primary books in the medium it teaches, and build English reading alongside |
Whatever the board, ask the school for the term's syllabus and share it with the tutor in the first week. A tutor who teaches from your child's own books avoids the confusion of two methods for the same sum.
Parents often book a primary tutor to get homework off their plate, and that is fair. The risk is that the tutor ends up doing the work while the child watches. A sensible split is about one-third of the session on that day's homework, with the child writing and the tutor asking questions, and two-thirds on the skill behind it: reading, tables, the method for long division, sentence building. If the homework is a project or a model, the tutor can help plan it and gather materials, but the child should cut, paste and write.
Ask for a short note at the end of each week: what was practised, what is now easy, and what is still shaky. That single habit tells you more than any test score at this stage.
Tutors on NXTutors cover Hindi and Sanskrit as well as English, maths and the rest. In Ghaziabad, language support runs both ways. Children in English-medium schools sometimes find Hindi matras, spelling and grammar harder than their parents expect, especially if the family speaks English or another language at home. Children in Hindi-medium schools may need extra English reading and speaking. Sanskrit, where the school offers it, rewards short daily practice of word forms rather than a weekly cram.
One tutor can usually handle all primary subjects. When one language is far behind, though, a short spell with a language specialist works better. Our English home tutors in Ghaziabad page describes what to expect from one.
Primary lessons usually happen between school pickup and dinner, which is also when GT Road, Hapur Road and the NH-9 junctions are busiest. Choosing a tutor who avoids those roads matters more than an extra year of experience.
| Zone | Likely route for the tutor | What to plan around |
|---|---|---|
| Surya Nagar and Ramprastha | From inside the pocket, from East Delhi across the border, or by metro to Dilshad Garden or Kaushambi and then an auto | Link Road and the border roads at office hours |
| Sahibabad and Rajendra Nagar | Red Line to Shyam Park, Rajendra Nagar, Raj Bagh or Shaheed Nagar, then a short walk or e-rickshaw | GT Road at shift changes; narrow inner lanes |
| Raj Nagar, Kavi Nagar and Old Ghaziabad | By road within the old city; Shaheed Sthal or the Namo Bharat stations at the edges | Market lanes near the old centre, Meerut Mod and the District Centre in the evening |
| Raj Nagar Extension and NH-9 | Often a tutor living inside the township; others by road or via Guldhar | Gate registration and highway junctions at peak hours |
| Trans-Hindon townships (Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara) | Blue Line to Vaishali or Noida Electronic City, then an e-rickshaw | Kala Pathar Road, the Vaishali roundabout and the Sector 11 and 16 markets |
For most primary children, home is better. Reading aloud, handwriting, using an abacus or counters and checking a page of sums all need someone sitting beside the child. Online starts to work around Class 4 or 5 for a focused child, usually for a single subject such as maths revision or English writing feedback, and as a backup on evenings when rain or traffic stops a visit. If the tutor you want lives across the Hindon from you, one home visit a week plus one short video session is a fair compromise. Our article on home versus online tutoring covers the trade-offs.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Primary tuition generally sits in the lower half. Quotes rise with the number of subjects, with IB PYP or Cambridge experience, and with a long evening trip, and fall when the tutor lives a few lanes away. Every fee is on the shortlist before the demo. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Ghaziabad.
In Surya Nagar, homes are mostly builder floors set in blocks around parks, and metro users come through Jhilmil or Dilshad Garden before an auto ride in. Neighbouring Chander Nagar has floors with markets within walking distance and bus stops close by. Off GT Road, Lajpat Nagar in Sahibabad sits right beside Shyam Park station, so a tutor can often walk from the platform.
In the old city, Nehru Nagar has busy commercial streets, so a slot outside market hours makes visits smoother, and Nandgram off Meerut Road has narrow lanes that are easiest early in the evening or at weekends. Along NH-9, Crossings Republik is almost all gated group housing with no metro, and many tutors already live inside the township.

Usually, yes. Most primary tutors handle English, maths, environmental studies or science, and Hindi for these classes. If one subject is far behind, such as English reading or Hindi spelling, a short spell with a specialist in that subject often works better. Tell us which subject worries you most when you send the request.
Two or three sessions of forty-five minutes to an hour suit most children in Classes 1 to 5. Daily tuition tends to tire a young child and leaves no time for play or reading alone. Before tests, an extra session for a week or two is reasonable, then return to the usual rhythm.
A good one will not. Expect about a third of each session on that day's homework, with your child writing and the tutor asking questions, and the rest on the skill underneath: reading, tables, methods. Projects can be planned together, but the child should make them. Ask for a short weekly note on progress.
Yes. The UP Board's published syllabi begin at Class 9, so in the primary years the tutor follows your school's own books and medium. Tell us whether lessons are in Hindi or English. Many families also ask the tutor to build English reading alongside, which helps later whichever board the child continues with.
For Classes 1 to 3, rarely, because reading aloud, handwriting and counting with objects need someone at the table. From Class 4 or 5, a focused child can manage a short online session in one subject, such as maths practice or writing feedback. Many families keep online sessions as a backup for rainy or traffic-bound evenings.
