Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Ghaziabad is split by a river and threaded by busy roads. A tutor who lives in Kavi Nagar and a student in Vasundhara are not far apart on a map, but at six in the evening the trip means crossing the Hindon and joining the traffic around GT Road. Meanwhile a specialist in Pune or Chennai is one link away. That is the honest case for online tuition here: it lets you pick a tutor on teaching quality instead of on who happens to live on your side of the river or the highway. This page from the NXTutors Academic Team explains when online lessons serve a Ghaziabad student better, when a home tutor is still worth waiting for, how to set it up through NXTutors, what the study table needs, and how to combine the two with one tutor.
The tutor would have to cross the Hindon. Many tutors work only one bank of the river, as our city guide notes. If the person you want lives in the old city and you live in Indirapuram or Sahibabad, or the reverse, the weekly trip usually becomes the weak point of the arrangement. Online takes the river out of it.
No station is near you. Crossings Republik and Siddharth Vihar have no metro, Surya Nagar and Ramprastha have no station inside the pocket, and Govindpuram and Madhuban Bapudham sit well away from the nearest Red Line stop. In these places a tutor without a vehicle can rarely keep an evening slot; a tutor on screen can. See our zone pages for Raj Nagar Extension and NH-9 and Surya Nagar and Ramprastha.
The subject is specialised. IB Higher Level maths, Cambridge IGCSE sciences, an ISC elective, or a UP Board Intermediate subject taught in your child's medium may have no specialist close by. Online opens the search to tutors across India. Our IB, IGCSE and UP Board pages describe what such a tutor should know.
Coaching runs late. Class 11 and 12 students in a JEE or NEET batch often get home after dark. A focused forty-minute doubt session at nine works on a screen; a visit at that hour rarely does. See our JEE and NEET pages for Ghaziabad.
Before deciding, look at the line nearest your home. Families near the end of the Blue Line in Vaishali and Kaushambi, or near the Red Line stations above GT Road, can often get a home tutor who arrives by train, so online is a choice rather than a necessity. The Namo Bharat stops at Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Guldhar help tutors coming along the Meerut corridor. Where none of these is close, as along NH-9 or on the Hapur Road side, online lessons or a weekly visit plus screen sessions are usually the most dependable way to keep a specialist for a whole year.
Most of these are temporary. Once a child is settled or a board-changer has caught up, part of the week can often move online without loss.
| Student | Format | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Primary child with a tutor in the same colony | Home | Hands-on learning after a short walk or ride |
| Self-driven secondary student preparing for CBSE, ICSE or UP Board papers | Screen lessons, or screen plus a visit | A wider pick of board-specific tutors, and no evening crawl along GT Road |
| Senior student in a coaching batch | Online on weekdays, a home visit at the weekend | Late sessions work on screen; weekend roads are lighter |
| IB, IGCSE or an ISC elective | Online | Specialists are scattered across the city and the country |
| Family in Crossings Republik, Madhuban Bapudham or Govindpuram | Mix | One trip a week instead of three keeps a good tutor willing to come |
| The right tutor lives across the Hindon | Online | Crossing the river several times a week rarely lasts |
| Any home arrangement in the monsoon | Home, switching to video on bad evenings | The lesson keeps its usual hour |

Online names can show up on a home search too. A Ghaziabad locality page orders its list by distance: people living in that locality, then people who already travel to it, then the wider zone and city, and finally online teachers, with every card naming the tutor's base. An online name usually means the specialist you asked for does not live within easy reach. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is marked Verified; it confirms identity, so the demo is still where you judge the teaching.
Equipment matters most where marks depend on written steps. The tutor should watch the working happen, not receive a photo of the finished page.
Use the free demo as a rehearsal: if the tutor cannot see your child's page clearly, sort that out before any paid lesson. Our article on online versus offline tutoring has more practical detail.
Watch who is writing and speaking: it should mostly be your child. Mistakes should be caught mid-step, with the tutor asking what your child was thinking at that point. Cameras stay on at both ends. Practice material should be your child's own school tests or the board's published papers rather than a generic printout, and each lesson should end with a brief written summary and a task. A tutor who mainly reads slides aloud is lecturing, not tutoring. The demo class checklist has more to look for.
Continuity with one good tutor matters more than the format, so try to keep the same person for both.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Part of a home fee pays for travel, so some tutors quote less for online lessons, while senior specialists often charge the same either way. Class, board, subject and how often you book move the price more than the format. Each fee is on your shortlist before the demo; see the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Ghaziabad.
Start from your locality page, which shows nearby tutors before online ones. Along NH-9, Crossings Republik has no metro and many tutors living inside the township, and Vijay Nagar has plotted older sectors beside newer blocks, with highway junctions that slow at office hours. In the old city, Nehru Nagar has congested commercial lanes and Lohia Nagar faces evening traffic on Hapur Road, both good reasons to keep an online evening in reserve.
On the Delhi border, Shaheed Nagar sits next to its own Red Line station, and Ramprastha has wide roads but no station inside, so a blend of visits and screen lessons often suits.
Then send a free demo request with the Mode set to online or either, or open the online tutors list. Two or three matched tutors come back with fees, the first class is free and changing tutor later costs nothing. For home tutors, see home tutors in Ghaziabad; for subject pages, start with maths or science in Ghaziabad.
When the tutor you want lives across the Hindon from you, when no station is near your home, as in Crossings Republik or Govindpuram, when the subject is specialised, such as IB, IGCSE or an ISC elective, or when coaching runs late into the evening. In those cases a screen keeps lessons regular.
Choose Online under the home-page search box, or add the word online to your search; location then stops limiting the results. You can also open the online tutors list and filter by subject, board, class, fee, experience, rating and gender. The free demo request has a Mode field you can set to online.
Yes, provided the tutor can watch the working as it is written. Use a laptop or tablet, a phone on a stand pointing at the notebook or a stylus tablet, and a shared whiteboard. Test this during the free demo; a tutor who sees only final answers cannot find the step where marks are lost.
Rarely as the only format. Up to about Class 3, reading aloud, handwriting and counting with objects need someone beside the child. A home tutor from your own colony is usually better, with a short video session kept for evenings when rain or traffic stops the visit. Older primary children can manage short online sessions.
Often, and it is a practical Ghaziabad arrangement: a weekend visit for new chapters and long written practice, with online sessions on weekday evenings for doubts and homework checks. Video also covers flooded or jammed evenings at the usual hour. Keeping one tutor across both formats matters more than the format itself.
Each Ghaziabad locality page lists tutors in that locality first, then those who travel there, then the rest of the zone and city, and then online tutors. Every card states where the tutor is based. An online name usually means the specialist you asked for does not live within easy reach of your home.
Sometimes. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour. Because part of a home fee covers travel, some tutors charge less online, while senior specialists often charge the same either way. Class, board, subject and frequency matter more than format, and you see each fee before the free demo.
