What home tuition costs in Ghaziabad

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE maths tutor in Ghaziabad: commercial maths, reasons beside every step, and ISC after Class 10

ICSE and ISC have a steady following in Ghaziabad, and parents on this board tend to ask the same thing: can a tutor teach maths the way CISCE examiners mark it? That means full working, a reason written beside each geometry step, commercial mathematics handled with confidence, and a Section B choice made calmly under time pressure. Two NXTutors maths teachers wrote this guide: Abhinandan Tiwary, whose students are in Class 10 on the CBSE and ICSE boards, covers Class 6 up to the board paper, and Ajay Vatsyayan, who works with IB, IGCSE and ISC students, covers Classes 11 and 12. The last sections deal with travel across the city, the demo and fees. The wider board picture is on our ICSE and ISC home tutors in Ghaziabad page, and the subject across boards on maths home tutors in Ghaziabad.

Why ICSE maths needs an ICSE tutor

Much of the content overlaps with CBSE and the UP Board, so it is tempting to hire any capable maths tutor. Three features of the CISCE course make that a gamble:

  • Extra chapters. The money topics (GST, recurring deposits, shares and dividends) are examined, and so are matrices, loci and reflection. A tutor raised on another board is usually least sure of exactly these.
  • The syllabus, not a book, is the authority. CISCE sets the content and each school chooses its own textbooks from publishers who follow it. Neighbours in the same tower may hold different books, so the tutor works from the syllabus and adapts to yours.
  • Working is marked. The question papers state that omitting essential working will lose marks, and credit is given step by step. A bare answer, even a right one, is a weak answer.

Before Class 10: what the younger years are really for

Nothing in Classes 6 to 8 looks alarming on the contents page. The point of those years is the habits, and each one feeds a Class 10 chapter: quick mental percentages turn into GST and dividend sums, neat brackets turn into factorisation, and a reason pencilled beside an angle turns into the proofs examiners mark line by line. A weekly session that reads the notebook, not only the answers, is usually all a child of this age needs. The national Class 8 maths page looks at the stage across boards.

Class 9 is different. Logarithms and indices, harder factorisation, simultaneous equations, congruency and the mid-point theorem all land in the same year, along with compound interest, Pythagoras, circles, rectilinear figures, statistics, mensuration and a first taste of trigonometry and coordinates. Most of the trouble families describe in Class 10 started here, and Class 10 leaves no room to go back. If you are going to get help, this is the easiest year to begin; the Class 9 maths page has more.

Class 10: seven units, and where each one leaks marks

The ICSE Class 10 maths syllabus, read for the mistakes it invites
UnitWhat is in itWhere marks usually go
Commercial mathsGST on bills, recurring deposit interest and maturity, shares bought and sold, dividend incomeDividend worked on the market price instead of the face value
AlgebraInequations on a number line, quadratics, ratio and proportion, the factor and remainder theorems, matrices, AP and GPMatrices multiplied in the wrong order; the answer left without its solution set
Coordinate geometryReflection in the axes and in lines, the section and mid-point formulae, straight linesThe wrong axis used for a reflection; a slipped sign in the slope
GeometrySimilar triangles, loci, circle theorems, constructionsNo reason given for a step; construction arcs erased
MensurationCylinder, cone and sphere, solids joined together, metal melted and recastRadius and diameter swapped; units dropped from the answer
TrigonometryIdentities; heights and distancesIdentity proofs that jump a line; a missing or careless diagram
Statistics and probabilityMean, median and mode; histograms and ogives; simple probabilityMedian or quartiles read off the ogive without care

Start commercial maths early. It looks fiddly at first, but its questions repeat a small number of patterns, and a fluent student can bank those marks. For a chapter-by-chapter view, read our ICSE Class 10 maths board guide.

80 marks in the hall, 20 earned during the year

Twenty marks come from internal assessment, assignments done through Class 10 and marked with an external examiner involved; the written paper supplies the remaining 80. CISCE's 2026 specimen paper splits those 80 evenly. The first half, Section A, must be answered in full: short questions, multiple-choice ones included, ranging over every chapter. The second half, Section B, offers longer questions in several parts, and the student answers four of them.

Two lessons follow. Every chapter matters, since Section A reaches into all of them. And the freedom in Section B is only useful to a student who has rehearsed it: reading the section once, committing to four questions within the first few minutes, and finishing what was started. Mock papers should train that decision as seriously as the mathematics, using ICSE past papers and the specimen paper rather than another board's material.

Four layout rules that protect marks

  • Write the formula before the numbers. A substituted line shows the examiner the method, so a later arithmetic slip costs one mark rather than all of them.
  • Justify each geometry step. "Angles in the same segment", "alternate angles": the short reason in brackets is part of the answer, not decoration.
  • Keep rough work on the answer sheet. CISCE expects it alongside the answer, and an examiner can credit what they see there.
  • Close a word problem in words. "The cost of the cone is ₹…", with units, rather than a lone number.

None of this happens without a tutor who looks at every line of every session and corrects the setting-out as firmly as the maths. Students often find it tedious for a few weeks, until a school test comes back with method marks they would previously have lost.

How a Class 10 tutor usually spends the year

Class 10 ICSE maths tuition, stage by stage
StagePriorityWeekly sessions
First weeksLeftover Class 9 weaknesses; money topics and algebra in step with the schoolTwo
Mid-yearCoordinates, geometry and mensuration; chapter tests checked line by lineTwo
Before pre-boardsTrigonometry and statistics finished; first full papers against the clock; assignments completed by the studentTwo to three
Final stretchWhole papers with the four-question choice rehearsed; a running list of repeated errorsThree

Starting late is not hopeless. Commercial maths and the Section B topics that recur most reliably are the place to begin, with other chapters added as time allows.

Moving between CBSE, the UP Board and ICSE

Ghaziabad has all three boards, and children do switch, at a change of school or before Class 11. Joining ICSE from CBSE or the UP Board around Class 8 or 9 usually means catching up on the money chapters, on geometry with reasons and on longer setting-out. Leaving ICSE is gentler on content but means learning another board's books and question style. Either way, the useful first step is a written list of what is missing, which a tutor familiar with both boards can then work through in a few weeks. Our board and stream guide compares the options, and the UP Board tutors in Ghaziabad page explains that board's papers.

ISC maths in Classes 11 and 12

Staying with CISCE after Class 10 means ISC, and the maths becomes noticeably harder. In Class 12 the theory paper is out of 80 and a project supplies the last 20. The 2027 examination removes the old choice between Section B and Section C, so every candidate now covers the same seven units: relations and functions, algebra, calculus, probability, vectors, three-dimensional geometry and linear programming. A student who wants applied, commerce-leaning maths takes ISC Applied Mathematics instead, a subject in its own right.

The Class 11 work on functions, limits and first derivatives carries straight into Class 12, and a student who drifts through it pays for it later. Where an ISC student is also aiming at engineering entrances, a tutor can plan board and JEE preparation together; see JEE home tutors in Ghaziabad. The national ISC maths tutor page and the ICSE and ISC maths guide go into the papers in more detail.

How ICSE maths tutors get to you

Class 10 ICSE students often need two or three sessions a week, so the route has to be easy. From our zone research:

  • Indirapuram. Gyan Khand 2 mixes older builder floors with newer gated complexes near Swarna Jayanti Park; traffic near the Hindon elevated road and the Kala Pathar signal argues for a mid-afternoon or post-rush slot. In Abhay Khand 1, around Krishna Colony, most homes are independent houses or small buildings, so the tutor comes straight to the door once they have a clear landmark.
  • Vaishali and Kaushambi. Much of Vaishali Sector 3 is nearest Kaushambi station, so tutors from East Delhi and Noida can arrive without a car; the main Vaishali roundabout is the bottleneck at office hours.
  • Vasundhara. Vasundhara has no station inside it. In Sector 3, mostly low-rise, tutors use Mohan Nagar or Vaishali and an e-rickshaw, or ride in from Indirapuram; Sahibabad railway station is also close.
  • Sahibabad and Rajendra Nagar. Shyam Park shares its name with the Red Line station beside it, and homes open onto the lane with no gate, so a tutor can walk from the platform; keep the class clear of the GT Road evening rush.

Every locality, including Raj Nagar, Kavi Nagar and Old Ghaziabad, is on the Ghaziabad home tutors page. Geometry layout and step-by-step working are easiest to correct at the table, so home lessons suit ICSE maths well; online sessions work for past-paper review once the habits are set. Our home versus online comparison helps you choose.

What to check in the ICSE maths demo

  1. ICSE experience. Ask which classes of this board the tutor has taught recently, and which textbook series.
  2. Commercial mathematics. Ask for a quick dividend or recurring deposit question; it shows depth fast.
  3. Layout. Watch whether the tutor corrects missing reasons and skipped lines, not just wrong answers.
  4. Section B strategy. Ask how they teach students to choose four questions.
  5. For ISC. Ask how the 2027 change to seven compulsory units affects the plan.
  6. The route. Which station or road, and what happens on a jammed evening.

The demo class checklist has more general questions.

ICSE Maths Tutor in Ghaziabad (Classes 6–10 & ISC): common questions

How much does an ICSE maths tutor cost in Ghaziabad?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Class 10 board preparation and ISC usually sit higher than middle school, and every fee is shown before the demo.

How is the ICSE Class 10 maths paper structured?

The written paper carries 80 marks and internal assessment adds 20. In the CISCE specimen paper for 2026, Section A is compulsory and worth 40 marks, with short questions including multiple-choice items from the whole syllabus. In Section B, also 40 marks, candidates answer any four longer questions.

Why do ICSE students lose marks even with correct answers?

Because CISCE marks the method. Papers warn that missing essential working costs marks, geometry statements need reasons, and rough work belongs on the same sheet as the answer. A tutor who corrects layout every session, not only the final number, protects marks that students otherwise give away without noticing.

Which ICSE maths topics need the most help?

Commercial mathematics (GST, recurring deposits, shares and dividends), matrices, loci, reflection and reasoned geometry are the usual weak spots, especially for tutors trained on other boards. In Class 9, logarithms, factorisation and congruency proofs are the common stumbling blocks, so that is a sensible year to begin tuition.

What changes in ISC maths from 2027?

From the 2027 examination there is no choice between Sections B and C. All candidates study seven compulsory units, from relations and functions, algebra and calculus to vectors, three-dimensional geometry, linear programming and probability. The paper stays at 80 marks with 20 for project work; ISC Applied Mathematics is a separate subject.

Can a tutor reach us in Indirapuram, Vaishali or Vasundhara for three sessions a week?

Usually, yes. Indirapuram and Vaishali are served by Blue Line stations, so tutors from Noida and East Delhi can come by metro, and Vasundhara is reached by e-rickshaw or scooter. We match tutors who can keep the slot every week, and fill gaps with online sessions near exams.

Is home or online tuition better for ICSE maths?

For building habits, home is easier: the tutor sees each line of working and each geometry reason as it is written. Once layout is secure, online sessions suit past-paper review and Section B timing practice. Many families keep a home session for new chapters and add an online one before exams.

Is the first ICSE maths class free?

Yes. Two or three matched tutors are suggested, and the first class with the one you choose is a free demo. If it does not suit your child, another matched tutor can take a free demo too, and switching tutor later in the year costs nothing.
