Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Senior chemistry is really three subjects sharing one name. Physical chemistry is mostly numericals, organic chemistry is a web of reactions, and inorganic chemistry is careful memory backed by reasons. A Jalgaon student in Standard XI or XII usually meets all three at junior college while preparing for NEET, JEE Main or MHT-CET, and it is easy to be strong in one branch and lost in another. A home tutor can find which branch is slipping and fix it before the gap spreads. Tell NXTutors the board, the entrance test and your colony; we suggest two or three chemistry tutors with their fees listed, and the first class is a free demo.
Parents often hear "chemistry is weak" when only one branch is. In CBSE Class 12 for 2026-27, the theory paper of 70 marks splits into organic 33, physical 23 and inorganic 14, and each branch needs a different kind of help:
| Branch | CBSE Class 12 marks | Typical trouble | Tutor's remedy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic | 33 | Reactions learned as a list and forgotten in a fortnight | Conversion maps redrawn from memory, one link at a time |
| Physical | 23 | Numericals lost to units, powers of ten or the wrong formula | One problem solved slowly each session, every line checked |
| Inorganic | 14 | Facts remembered without the reason behind them | Short oral quizzes from NCERT lines, each followed by "why?" |
The same split applies, roughly, whatever the board, so a good first demo begins with the tutor asking which branch your child dreads and why.
CBSE fixes marks for every theory chapter, and the 2026-27 design is unchanged from last session. Electrochemistry leads with 9 marks; aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids follow with 8; solutions, chemical kinetics, biomolecules, the d- and f-block elements and coordination compounds bring 7 each; and haloalkanes and haloarenes, alcohols, phenols and ethers, and amines bring 6 each. Ten chapters, 70 marks.
The paper has five lettered sections and 33 questions, with internal choice in a few. Neither a calculator nor log tables may be used, so electrochemistry and kinetics sums need practice with simple numbers worked by hand. A little under half the marks are for recall and understanding; the rest ask for application, analysis and evaluation. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide covers each chapter, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page shows how a board year can be planned.
Two areas are out of the 2026-27 Class 12 course: the solid state, and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block. Four more stay in the course but are assessed only by the school: polymers, surface chemistry, chemistry in everyday life, and the isolation of elements. None of these six appears on the board paper.
That does not mean a NEET or JEE student can ignore them. NTA publishes its own syllabus, and topics missing from the board course can still be examined in an entrance test. Use the board list to plan board revision, and check the current entrance syllabus on nta.ac.in before deciding what to leave out.
On the State Board, chemistry in Standards XI and XII is normally studied at a junior college, often with MHT-CET planned. The board recognises Marathi-medium and English-medium schools, and in Jalgaon many students speak Khandeshi or Ahirani at home as well, so an idea may be understood in one language and examined in another. Three questions are worth putting to any tutor:
The HSC chemistry marks are not repeated on this page; read the current scheme on mahahsscboard.in. The board's other subjects are on our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Jalgaon page.
In the 2026 NEET (UG) paper, chemistry made up 45 of the 180 questions, a quarter of the 720 marks, answered with pen on paper. JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 had 25 chemistry questions, 5 of which needed a numerical value. In both NTA tests a correct answer earned +4 and a wrong one cost a mark. NEET tends to reward exact recall of NCERT lines, especially in inorganic chemistry, while JEE Main leans on mechanisms and multi-step physical chemistry. MHT-CET is conducted by the State CET Cell, and its pattern is published on cetcell.mahacet.org. NTA updates its pattern each year, so plan from the newest bulletin. See the NEET chemistry tutor page and the NEET home tutor in Jalgaon page for the full picture.
Most of the thinking, yes. CBSE's 30 practical marks are made up of volumetric analysis 8, salt analysis 8, a content-based experiment 6, the project 4, and the record and viva together 4. This year's titration uses potassium permanganate against either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and each student weighs and dissolves the standard solution independently. State Board students follow their own board's practical rules.
At the table, a tutor can rehearse the molarity calculation for a weighed sample, the layout of a burette readings table, the order of salt analysis from preliminary tests to confirmatory ones, and viva questions such as why no separate indicator is added in a permanganate titration. A project the student can genuinely manage alone is part of the same conversation.
It follows the chapter taught at college or coaching that week rather than racing ahead, and it usually has four parts. The student first explains the week's topic aloud with the book closed, so gaps show while they are small. Then one physical-chemistry numerical is worked slowly while the tutor watches every line. Next comes one page of organic conversions, redrawn from memory, linking alcohols, carbonyl compounds, acids and amines. Last, two "give reasons" questions are written and corrected at once, which keeps board writing level with entrance practice. Standard XI deserves the same care: moles, equilibrium and the first organic chapters return in every part of Standard XII. Our Class 11 chemistry tutor page explains why.
Every locality has its own tutors on our Jalgaon page. These six show the sort of detail that gets a first visit off to a good start.
| Colony | Home situation | Tell the tutor | Agree early |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vidyut Colony | Many homes where both parents work | Lane, house number and a map pin | Who opens the door, and a message after each class |
| Ganesh Colony | Near Ramanand Nagar, Shiv Colony and Ring Road | The lane, a nearby shop or clinic, your gate's colour | One fixed weekday that stays the same all year |
| Baliram Peth | Central peth; homes often shared by three generations | Building colour and a shop everyone knows | A quiet corner and a regular hour the household respects |
| Jilha Peth | Central, linking the old lanes with Ramanand Nagar and Tagore Nagar | Building or complex, floor and nearest chowk | How each finished chapter will be tested |
| Tagore Nagar | Between Jilha Peth, Baliram Peth and Ramanand Nagar | The chowk and the shop on your corner | A weekly note on what was covered and what needs practice |
| Khote Nagar | Western edge, with fewer tutors living inside the colony | Pimprala side or Bambhori side | Which sessions are at home and which are online |
Before pre-board exams, turning one weekly visit into an online class can protect revision when evenings get crowded. The Ramanand Nagar and Ring Road and Navi Peth and the Old Peths zone pages add more, as does the Jalgaon home tuition guide.
For ISC, CISCE marks practical work and a project besides the theory paper, and examiners want explanations, not bare statements. The IB Diploma course, at SL or HL, is organised around structure and reactivity, and its investigation is the student's own work; a tutor may ask questions but must not write it. Cambridge IGCSE entries are made at Core or Extended, and our Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE comparison explains how the two boards differ. Jalgaon has fewer teachers for these courses, so mention yours in the first message; an online specialist plus a local tutor for written practice is a common answer.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee. When comparing, ask which branch the tutor enjoys teaching most, how they would divide time between the board and the entrance test, and whether an online class can stand in during heavy weeks. Fees appear on the shortlist before any demo, and our Jalgaon home tuition fees guide lists more questions.
Tell us the standard, the board, the entrance test if any, which of the three branches worries your child, the days taken up by college or coaching, your colony and a landmark, and your free evenings. Two or three chemistry tutors are proposed with their fees, and the one you pick gives a free demo. A mismatch simply leads to a demo with someone else, and swapping tutor later costs nothing. Where nobody suitable can come to you, lessons can run fully or partly online; see online tutors for Jalgaon. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Related Jalgaon pages: physics and biology. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Jalgaon chemistry tutors set their own fees. Ask how they would divide time between the board and the entrance test before you book.
Jalgaon families send the standard, board, entrance test, the branch where marks slip, college or coaching days, colony with a landmark and free evenings. NXTutors suggests two or three chemistry tutors with fees, and the one you choose gives a free demo. A mismatch leads to a demo with someone else, and later switching is free.
Ask the tutor to test the three branches separately, because organic, physical and inorganic chemistry fail in different ways. Organic reactions fade when learned as lists, physical numericals slip on units and powers of ten, and inorganic facts vanish without reasons. In CBSE Class 12 the branches carry 33, 23 and 14 theory marks.
Electrochemistry carries the most, 9 of the 70 theory marks in the 2026-27 CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper. Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids follow with 8, and five chapters bring 7 each. No calculator or log table is allowed, so a Jalgaon student should practise electrochemistry and kinetics sums with hand-worked arithmetic.
A Jalgaon NEET or JEE student should not skip removed topics without checking the entrance syllabus first. CBSE has dropped the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block for 2026-27, and leaves four more topics to school assessment. NTA publishes its own syllabus on nta.ac.in, which can still include them.
A State Board chemistry student in Jalgaon should ask three questions about language, textbooks and the journal. Will names and reasons be written in the exam's language? Will practice come from the board's textbook and sample papers? How will the journal and viva stay on track? Many students speak Khandeshi or Marathi at home, so explanations in those languages can help.
NEET (UG) 2026 had 45 chemistry questions out of 180, a quarter of the 720 marks, while JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 had 25 chemistry questions with five numerical answers. Both NTA tests gave four marks for a right answer and deducted one for a wrong one. MHT-CET's pattern is on cetcell.mahacet.org.
Yes, a Jalgaon tutor can prepare most of the thinking behind the titration at home. This year potassium permanganate is titrated against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, with each student preparing the standard solution. A tutor can rehearse the molarity working, the burette readings table and viva questions, though the practical itself happens in the laboratory.
A typical home chemistry session for a Jalgaon student has four short parts and follows that week's college teaching. The topic is explained aloud with the book closed, one physical-chemistry numerical is worked slowly, a page of organic conversions is redrawn from memory, and two give-reasons answers are corrected at once.
In Vidyut Colony, where both parents often work, decide who will open the door and ask the tutor for a message after each class. In Khote Nagar, on the western edge, fewer tutors live nearby, so agree early which chemistry sessions will be at home and which online, and say whether you are nearer Pimprala or Bambhori.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
