What home tuition costs in Mira Road

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Maths home tutor in Mira-Bhayandar: one patient adult who checks every line your child writes

In Mira Road and Bhayandar, a train timetable often decides when maths homework happens. Many parents work in Mumbai and reach home after dark, so the sums get done late, usually with nobody nearby who can say why the third line went wrong. A home maths tutor fills exactly that gap. Send NXTutors the class, the examining board (the Maharashtra State Board, CBSE, CISCE or an international course), the language your child thinks in, and your building and colony. You then get a shortlist of two or three maths tutors, fees printed beside each name, and the opening lesson with whoever you pick is a free demo.

Who sets your child's maths paper, and what should you ask a tutor first?

Ajay Vatsyayan wrote and answers for the ISC, IB and IGCSE parts of this guide; Abhinandan Tiwary covers CBSE and ICSE maths at Class 10. Everything said about the State Board comes from evaluation schemes that the board itself publishes. Homes in Mira-Bhayandar follow several boards, sometimes within one building, so find your child's row before you speak to anyone.

Why do SSC maths students need a plan for two separate papers?

SSC and HSC examinations are conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, at the close of Standard X and Standard XII. Its scheme for Standards IX and X splits Mathematics (subject code 71) in two. Part I and Part II are written as separate papers worth 40 marks apiece, and the school reports another 20. Since each paper is marked on its own, a child who enjoys one part cannot lean on it to rescue the other.

Families in Mira Road often start looking for help midway through Standard X, after a disappointing unit test. Beginning in Standard IX is calmer: both parts get spread over two school years, and the final months go on timed practice rather than first-time teaching. A sound SSC routine has four parts:

  • Separate days for Part I and Part II. When tuition only shadows the school's order, whichever part comes later in the year gets squeezed. Name a day for each.
  • Geometry written with reasons. Each proof step and construction carries its reason on the page, because an examiner can only credit what is written.
  • The board's own material first. The prescribed textbook comes before any guide, followed by the sample question papers a student can open after logging in on mahahsscboard.in.
  • The internal 20 protected. Ask the school what internal work this year involves, and keep tuition from crowding it out.

Patterns and dates belong to the board, so read the current scheme before fixing a timetable. The rest of the board's subjects have their own page: Maharashtra Board home tutor in Mira-Bhayandar.

Which HSC maths chapters carry the most marks?

After the SSC, State Board students here usually move to a junior college for Standards XI and XII. For Mathematics and Statistics (code 40), the paper Arts and Science students share, the Standard XII scheme lists a mark for every chapter, internal options included. Part I and Part II offer 56 marks each. Commerce has its own paper, so Commerce families should read that stream's scheme instead. Grouped by weight, the Arts and Science chapters look like this:

HSC Standard XII Mathematics and Statistics (Arts and Science): chapters grouped by marks, options included
MarksChaptersWhat a tutor should do
12VectorsStart early and revisit monthly; it is the largest single chapter
10Trigonometric Functions; Line and Plane; Indefinite IntegrationA few problems every week, from Standard XI onwards
9Differentiation; Applications of DerivativesMake these solid first, since later calculus rests on them
8Mathematical Logic; Differential EquationsTidy truth tables for logic; a fixed method for equations
6Matrices; Pair of Straight Lines; Definite IntegrationShort, frequent sets so the marks are never given away
5Probability Distributions; Binomial DistributionCheck that every table of probabilities totals one
4Linear Programming; Application of Definite IntegrationSketch the region or area before any working

Add up Part II and calculus accounts for 46 of its 56 marks. A student who never quite settled differentiation in Standard XI therefore pays for it across half the paper. By objective, the scheme puts about 30% of questions on knowledge, 42% on understanding and 28% on application and skill, and it caps theory at 15%. So the weekly diet should be worked problems, with little time spent learning proofs by heart.

How is the HSC maths paper laid out, and how should a student rehearse it?

Out of 80 written marks, Section A mixes eight two-mark multiple-choice items with four one-mark very short answers. The board evaluates only the first attempt at a multiple-choice item, so changing a letter afterwards earns nothing. In B the student picks eight of twelve two-mark questions; C works the same way with three-mark questions; D offers eight four-mark questions, of which five are answered. A fresh page starts each section.

A log table may be used; a calculator may not. Arithmetic by hand therefore needs attention in every term. With choice in three sections, a timed paper at home should include the short spell of choosing, so the student learns to decide quickly and not abandon an answer halfway. Many science students also write MHT-CET, which the State CET Cell runs; read its syllabus and pattern only on cetcell.mahacet.org. JEE Main comes from the National Testing Agency: in Paper 1 of 2026, maths had 25 questions, twenty multiple-choice and five whose answer is a number, marked four for a right answer and minus one for a wrong one. The next pattern will be in the NTA bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Where coaching already teaches the chapters, the home tutor takes the unsolved sheet problems and full board-style answers. See the Class 12 maths tutor page, our Class 12 calculus and algebra guide, the article on JEE coaching or a home tutor and the JEE home tutor in Mira-Bhayandar page.

How is CBSE Class 10 maths divided between units?

The 2026-27 CBSE paper keeps last session's design: 14 NCERT chapters in seven units share 80 board marks. Algebra takes 20 and geometry 15. Trigonometry, heights and distances included, takes 12; statistics together with probability 11; mensuration 10; coordinate geometry 6 and real numbers 6. Section A asks 20 one-mark questions, of which 18 are multiple-choice and 2 assertion–reason. B has five worth two marks, C six worth three, D four worth five, and E closes with three case studies at four marks each. Calculators stay outside the hall.

Standard and Basic cover the same chapters at different depths. Remembering and understanding make up roughly 54% of the Standard paper but roughly 75% of Basic, which is why a child who might take maths further should choose Standard. There is also a second, optional Class 10 sitting in which a student may try to raise the score in as many as three subjects, maths among them; rely on cbse.gov.in alone for its timing. For chapter help, read the Class 10 maths preparation guide and the board-year planner, and see the Class 10 maths tutor page.

Is your child on ISC, IB or IGCSE maths instead?

ISC Class 12
Candidates in 2027 and 2028 write a single paper of 80 marks spread over seven units. The old option of Section B or Section C has gone, so every student now prepares vectors, three-dimensional geometry, linear programming and probability. Calculus alone is worth 35, and the two projects bring a further 20. Detail is in our ICSE and ISC maths guide.
IB Diploma
AA is built around algebra, functions, calculus and proof, and one of its papers bars calculators; AI centres on modelling and statistics and expects a graphic display calculator throughout. At SL two exam papers count 40% each; at HL three count 30%, 30% and 20%. Either way the last 20% is the exploration, written by the student alone. Our IB maths AA or AI guide helps with the choice.
Cambridge IGCSE
Extended grades run from A* to G, but Core stops at C, so settle the tier with the school long before the entry deadline.

Teachers for these courses are thin on the ground in any single neighbourhood. Because Mira-Bhayandar borders Mumbai's northern suburbs, a request that welcomes tutors from either side of the boundary often finds a specialist sooner, and an online class can carry the rest.

What if your child has just moved board or speaks another language at home?

Families arrive in Mira Road and Bhayandar from other parts of Mumbai and from other states, and some children switch boards on the way, or again on joining junior college after Class 10. Chapters rarely line up. A student moving from another state's board to the SSC, or from the SSC to CBSE, may meet one topic twice and miss another entirely. Ask the tutor to spend the first weeks testing what your child already knows, not racing through the new book.

Language matters too. Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu are all spoken in homes here, and many children learn maths in English at school; the State Board recognises both Marathi-medium and English-medium schools. Word problems are where a gap between home and school language shows first. The tutor you want can unpick a stuck step in Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu or Marathi, then hand the pen back so the final answer uses the book's own terms. Name both languages in your request, and in the demo look at what the tutor writes, not only what they say.

What should you settle before maths lessons start in six Mira Road and Bhayandar localities?

Apartment buildings fill much of the city, and many look alike from the road, so an exact address saves the first visit. Tutors for every locality are on our Mira-Bhayandar page.

How can one free demo show whether a maths tutor will work out?

Pick this week's school chapter for the demo rather than a topic the tutor chooses, and lay the latest test paper beside the notebook. Four signals are worth more than a polished explanation:

  1. The tutor reads before teaching. Old answers are studied and a few questions asked first.
  2. The pen stays with your child. The student does most of the writing during the hour.
  3. Mistakes get names. "The sign flipped when that term crossed over" is useful; a general warning is not.
  4. The page looks the way the examiner wants. Reasons beside SSC geometry steps, HSC answers in their sections, CBSE working laid out for step marks.

Not convinced? Say so, and another tutor from the same shortlist gives a demo; a switch later in the year costs nothing either. Home lessons suit younger children and anyone whose written steps need watching; online suits a specialist across the boundary or a night when the train runs late, and many families mix the two. Our demo class checklist for parents, the home tutor or online tutor article and our online tutors for Mira-Bhayandar page help you weigh it.

What does a maths home tutor in Mira-Bhayandar charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. The rate is each tutor's own decision. While comparing, ask which board and standard they have taught in the past year, how many weekly sessions they would advise, and whether an evening when the train runs late can become an online class. Every fee appears before the demo, and our Mira-Bhayandar home tuition fees guide lists more questions.

What should your request to NXTutors include?

Six details help most: the standard; the course by its full name; any entrance test in view; the languages spoken at home and used at school; building, colony and a landmark; and the free hours left by school, junior college or coaching. The shortlist that comes back has two or three maths tutors with fees attached, and one of them gives a free demo. When no suitable tutor can travel to you at that time, we propose lessons online or split between home and screen. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons run across India. Beyond this city, try the all-India maths home tutor page, or, just over the boundary, maths tutors in Mumbai and the Mumbai hub; for related subjects here, open physics and science.

If you teach maths and live in Mira Road or Bhayandar, open requests from families near you are listed on the Mira-Bhayandar tuition jobs page.

Maths Home Tutor in Mira-Bhayandar: common questions

How much does a maths home tutor in Mira Road or Bhayandar usually charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Mira-Bhayandar maths tutor sets their own fee, shown on the shortlist before any demo. Ask which board they taught this year and how many weekly sessions they suggest.

What should a Mira-Bhayandar family include when asking NXTutors for a maths tutor?

Include the standard, the full course name, any entrance test, the languages of home and school, your building and colony with a landmark, and your free hours. NXTutors then sends two or three matched maths tutors with fees attached. The first class with your choice is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

Why should an SSC student in Mira Road treat Maths Part I and Part II as two subjects?

An SSC student should treat them separately because the State Board marks Part I and Part II as two written papers of 40 marks each. The school adds 20 internal marks. A strong part cannot rescue a weak one, so a tutor should give each part its own fixed day every week from Standard IX.

Which HSC Mathematics and Statistics chapter carries the most marks for a Bhayandar junior-college student?

Vectors carries the most, with 12 marks in the Standard XII Arts and Science scheme, options included. Trigonometric Functions, Line and Plane and Indefinite Integration follow with 10 each. Calculus chapters together supply 46 of the 56 marks in Part II, so weak differentiation in Standard XI hurts across half the paper.

Can a Mira-Bhayandar student use a calculator in the HSC maths paper?

No, the HSC maths paper allows log tables but not calculators, so arithmetic by hand needs practice all year. Only the first attempt at each multiple-choice question in Section A is evaluated. Sections B, C and D offer a choice of questions, so timed home papers should include practice at choosing quickly.

Should a Mira Road child take CBSE Standard or Basic maths in Class 10?

A Mira Road child who may continue maths after Class 10 should take Standard rather than Basic. Both cover the same chapters, but about 54% of Standard marks test remembering and understanding, against about 75% in Basic. A tutor can judge the level from your child's recent test work rather than guesswork.

What changes in ISC maths for Mira-Bhayandar students sitting the 2027 or 2028 exam?

For the 2027 and 2028 exams, CISCE sets one 80-mark ISC paper with no choice between the old Sections B and C. Vectors, three-dimensional geometry, linear programming and probability therefore become compulsory. Calculus carries 35 marks, and two projects add 20 more, so planning should start early in Class 11.

My child changed board on moving to Mira Road; how should maths tuition begin?

Maths tuition after a board change should begin with a few weeks of testing what your child already knows. Chapters rarely line up between boards, so a topic may repeat while another is missing entirely. Tell the tutor which board your child left and which one they follow now, before the first lesson.

Can a maths tutor explain in Hindi or Gujarati when my child studies in English in Bhayandar?

Yes, many tutors can explain a stuck step in Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu or Marathi and then return to English. The written answer should still use the textbook's terms, since that is what the examiner marks. Mention both languages in your request, and in the demo watch what the tutor writes, not only what they say.

Can a maths tutor come late in the evening to Mira Road East or Kashimira?

Many Mira Road East and Kashimira families book a seven or eight o'clock slot because parents return late from Mumbai. Give the colony, building, wing and floor, and in Kashimira say which side of the Western Express Highway you live on. On very late nights, one lesson can move online with the same tutor.
