Primary tutor jobs in Nagpur

For a young child in Nagpur, the tutor who lives three lanes away is often worth more than a specialist across the city. Primary tuition is about routine: the same table, the same time, two or three afternoons a week, homework checked and reading heard. Families with children in the early classes usually want one tutor for all subjects, close to home, who keeps step with what the school is teaching that month.

If you enjoy teaching young children, NXTutors lets you join free and choose the classes you take, the boards, the medium, the localities you will walk or ride to and the fee you set. The live list on this page shows real open requests when there are any; nothing here promises a number of families.

Who asks for primary (class 1–5) tutors in Nagpur

The city guide sums up what these years need: sound habits more than speed, reading carefully, quick number sense, fractions and early algebra by the upper primary years, and tidy, complete written work. A tutor at the table once or twice a week usually covers it, and helps most when they keep in step with the school. Parents of Classes 1 to 5 ask for exactly that, often with homework support and a check before each school test.

Board and medium matter even at this age. Children in Maharashtra State Board schools learn from the state textbooks, often in Marathi or another medium, and parents expect the tutor to be comfortable in that language. CBSE and ICSE families want someone who knows their child's books and the school's worksheet style. Many Nagpur families also ask for Marathi or Hindi as subjects, and a primary tutor who can teach the language alongside maths and English becomes hard to replace.

Families sometimes ask for a primary tutor to continue into Classes 6 to 8, when science and maths begin to separate. If you are comfortable with that stage, list it; parents prefer not to change a tutor their child trusts.

The school calendar shapes when families look. CBSE's session opens in April and state-board schools in Maharashtra usually reopen in June, so many primary requests arrive in those two months, when parents want a routine in place from the first week. Others come mid-year after a disappointing unit test, or in winter before the annual exams. A primary tutor who keeps availability up to date through the year is visible whenever a family starts looking.

Where in Nagpur the work is

Because younger children learn in the afternoon, primary tutors can often travel when the roads are still quiet, before office closing time fills the Ring Road, Wardha Road and Bhandara Road. Short trips are still the goal. In the Hingna Road and Ring Road zone, the plotted layouts of Pratap Nagar, Trimurti Nagar and Jaitala let a tutor ride to the door and park; in North Nagpur, Gittikhadan, Koradi Road and Zingabai Takli have many plotted houses where the same is true.

In apartment-heavy areas, Wardha Road's Khamla and Somalwada or the new complexes of Wathoda and Hudkeshwar in the south-east, the gate will register you, so ask the family to give your name and days in advance. Dense Nandanvan suits a tutor who already lives in the east. A primary tutor who lists only the localities within a short ride usually keeps the most regular schedule.

What families in Nagpur expect

  • Warmth and patience with young children, and a calm, structured routine.
  • All primary subjects as the school teaches them, with homework support.
  • Teaching in the family's medium for state-board children, or a clear note of your medium.
  • Reading aloud, spelling and handwriting practice built into each lesson.
  • Number sense and times tables made quick through short daily practice.
  • Lessons in a shared room with an adult at home, and short, honest updates to parents.
  • Reliable afternoon availability on fixed days, close to your own locality.

How to get picked

Primary parents choose with their hearts as well as their heads. On your profile, describe how a lesson with you runs: perhaps ten minutes of reading, homework checked, then a short game for tables. List the classes and boards, the medium and any languages you teach, the localities you can reach in a few minutes, and the afternoons you keep free. A photo and a warm, plain description help more than a list of degrees.

In the free demo, with a parent at home, spend the first minutes getting to know the child, then hear them read, look at a recent notebook and do one short activity together. Tell the parent one strength and one thing to work on. Families can see your fee before booking and switch later at no cost, so the tutor a child looks forward to seeing is the one who stays. See how you get paid lower down.

Over the first month, keep a simple record for the parent: books read, tables learnt, a page of handwriting from week one beside one from week four. Nagpur parents of young children rarely ask for marks at this stage; they want to see habits forming, and a small visible record does that better than any claim on a profile.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Do Nagpur families want one tutor for all primary subjects?

Usually, yes. Parents of Classes 1 to 5 prefer one tutor who handles every subject and homework, close to home, two or three times a week.

Do I need to teach in Marathi?

Only for families who ask for it. State-board families give their medium, and many also want Marathi or Hindi as a subject. List what you can teach.

What timing suits primary tuition here?

Afternoons straight after school, often before the evening peak on the spoke roads. That makes short trips within your own zone easy.

Can primary tuition be done online?

Some families accept it for older primary children, with a parent nearby and cameras on. Most prefer a tutor at the table for the early classes.

What happens at the first meeting?

A free demo with a parent at home. You meet the child, hear them read, look at their work and do a short activity. Regular lessons start only if the family books.

Is it free to join as a primary tutor?

Yes. Joining is free, the Free plan includes monthly lead credits, paid plans are optional, and you set your own fee.
