Nagpur has five zones on NXTutors, laid out around Sitabuldi, the city's main market. Central West Nagpur, from Dharampeth and Shankar Nagar to Dhantoli and Civil Lines, mixes apartment buildings and older family houses with shops, clinics and offices, and Civil Lines keeps its bungalows and government colonies. The Hingna Road side and Wardha Road are planned layouts and two- and three-bedroom apartment buildings, North Nagpur has many plotted layouts of independent houses along Katol and Koradi Roads, and the east and south-east run from dense Nandanvan to newer complexes in Wathoda and Hudkeshwar. Plotted houses mean doorstep visits; apartments and colonies often keep a register.
The metro helps in three zones and barely touches the other two. The Orange and Aqua Lines meet at Sitabuldi; the Aqua Line runs west along Hingna Road to Lokmanya Nagar and east towards Prajapati Nagar, and the Orange Line follows Wardha Road towards the airport and Khapri. North Nagpur beyond Sadar, and Manewada and Hudkeshwar in the south-east, depend on road travel, so a two-wheeler matters there. Timing pressure comes from the Ring Road at office closing time, Wardha Road and Bhandara Road at peak hours, the railway crossing near Manish Nagar, and evening shopping crowds on the central market roads.
Nagpur's students divide mainly between the Maharashtra State Board and the national boards. The State Board sets the SSC at the end of Class 10 and the HSC at the end of Class 12, and for the state board families also give the medium, so a tutor should say which language they teach in. CBSE and ICSE students need someone who knows their own syllabus, and IB or Cambridge IGCSE families can combine a local tutor with online lessons from elsewhere. CBSE's session opens in April and state-board schools in Maharashtra usually reopen in June, so a tutor teaching both should plan around two calendars.

SSC (Class 10); HSC (Class 12)
The state board sets the SSC at the end of Class 10 and the HSC at the end of Class 12, writing papers from its own textbooks. SSC maths is two 40-mark papers with 20 internal marks, and science comes as two activity sheets. Families choose a medium, so say which one you teach, and read mahahsscboard.in.
Classes 1–12
Nagpur's CBSE students need a tutor who knows how CBSE sets the paper: NCERT-based, with sample papers and marking schemes published on cbseacademic.nic.in. The CBSE year starts cleanly in April, a good time to rebuild weak chapters before school pressure rises. Ask for the locality and the road it sits off.
ICSE (Class 10); ISC (Class 12)
CISCE's ICSE in Class 10 and ISC in Class 12 reward complete written answers across a wide syllabus, with set literature in English, so steady revision of every chapter and regular timed writing matter most. Nagpur tutors for these boards should work through the specimen papers on cisce.org.
Diploma Programme (Classes 11–12)
IB Diploma families in Nagpur can pair a local tutor with an online specialist from elsewhere in India. If you teach Maths AA or AI, or a science at SL or HL, online classes let you reach them; coach the internal assessment without writing it, using the ibo.org guides.
IGCSE (Classes 9–10)
Cambridge IGCSE students here can combine local help with online lessons. A tutor who handles command words, tier choice and past papers marked against the official scheme, for Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel, can support them from a home in Nagpur or anywhere. Zones marked "Tutors needed" have the fewest tutors living in or travelling to them, so families there mostly see online tutors today. Add them to your travel areas to reach those families first.
Sitabuldi, Shankar Nagar Square, LAD Square, Congress Nagar, Zero Mile Freedom Park and Kasturchand Park stations cover the zone, which helps because parking near the Dharampeth market lanes and Dhantoli's clinics is scarce in the evening. Government colonies and apartment buildings want your name at the gate, while bungalows and older houses open onto the road. Book after-school slots before the evening shopping rush, and allow extra time in Civil Lines on days of official events.
Bajaj Nagar, Civil Lines, Dhantoli, Dharampeth, Gokulpeth, Laxmi Nagar, Ramdaspeth, Shankar Nagar
Plotted layouts in Pratap Nagar, Trimurti Nagar and Jaitala usually let you park at the door, though many layouts look alike, so ask for the lane and plot number. Subhash Nagar and Rachana Ring Road Junction stations plus an auto bring tutors from the centre, and lessons should start after the Ring Road evening peak. Newer apartments in Jaitala and Pratap Nagar may keep a visitor register.
Homes are mostly apartment buildings with visitor registers, plus houses and villas in Besa's newer layouts, and most are an auto ride from an Orange Line station such as Ujjwal Nagar, Airport or Jaiprakash Nagar. Wardha Road is heavy at morning and evening peaks, and the underpass near Manish Nagar adds delay before early-evening lessons. Ask the gate to note your name and visiting days for every week.
Most of Koradi Road, Mankapur and Zingabai Takli is some way from a metro station, so tutors with a two-wheeler or living in North Nagpur keep slots most easily. Government colonies in Seminary Hills have gated entrances where you may be asked for identification, and Katol and Chhindwara Roads are easier after the office peak. Near Sadar's Mount Road, arrive a little early because parking is hard in the evening.
Gittikhadan, Koradi Road, Mankapur, Sadar, Seminary Hills, Zingabai Takli
The Aqua Line's eastern section, with stations such as Vaishnodevi Square, runs towards Old Pardi Naka, but Manewada and Hudkeshwar have no metro, so a two-wheeler or a home base in the south-east matters. Large new complexes in Wathoda and Hudkeshwar register visitors, plotted houses need the layout name and a map pin, and Bhandara Road carries heavy goods traffic at peak hours. Allow extra time on the main road before Wardhaman Nagar lessons.
