JEE and NEET tutor jobs: one-to-one entrance support through NXTutors
Families who ask for JEE or NEET help are often not looking for a replacement for coaching. Their child already sits in a large batch, collects sheets and modules, and takes weekly tests. What they want is one person who sits beside that child, finds the chapters that the batch moved past too quickly, clears the doubts that pile up, and keeps the school board paper from being forgotten. This page is for subject experts who can do that work.

In the free demo, take one problem the student got wrong in a recent test and rebuild the idea behind it.
The exams in brief: who conducts what
JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and its Paper 1, for B.E. and B.Tech admissions, covers Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. JEE Advanced is run by the IITs, with one IIT acting as organising institute each year, and its own syllabus is published on jeeadv.ac.in; families of serious engineering aspirants will often ask whether you can teach to that depth. NEET (UG) is also conducted by NTA and tests Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with Biology split into Botany and Zoology.
Exam patterns, dates and eligibility details change from year to year and are announced in each year's information bulletin. Do not quote them from memory to a family; point them to the official NTA or JEE Advanced website, and keep your own teaching anchored in the published syllabus.
What do entrance students actually ask a tutor for?
Doubt clearing is the commonest request. A coaching student brings a sheet of problems they could not finish, and you work through the ones that expose a real gap rather than solving all of them. The second is chapter rebuilding: a Class 11 student who never understood rotational motion, organic reaction mechanisms or permutations, and now meets them again in every test. The third is test analysis: going through a mock paper question by question to separate careless slips from gaps in concept and from time management.
Class 11 students, and some in Class 10, ask for foundation work: strong algebra and trigonometry, clean free-body diagrams, the mole concept and NCERT biology read with real attention. Droppers, students who take a year after Class 12 to prepare again, ask for structure: a weekly plan, regular full-length practice and someone who notices when motivation slips. NEET families in particular want biology taught line by line from NCERT, because precise recall matters, alongside the physics numericals that many NEET students fear.
One subject or all three?
Many families prefer a specialist for each subject, so a physics-only or chemistry-only profile is no disadvantage; list exactly what you teach. Some want one tutor who can handle physics and chemistry together for NEET, or physics and maths for JEE Main, often for a Class 11 student who has only just started. Be honest about where your depth ends: a tutor who is strong for JEE Main and NEET but has not taught JEE Advanced problems should say so, and families will respect it.
Many entrance students still need their board theory and practicals looked after; /physics-tutor-jobs, /chemistry-tutor-jobs and /maths-tutor-jobs describe that side of the work.
What background helps for JEE and NEET teaching?
NXTutors sets no exam score or degree as an entry rule; the tutor terms ask that you are 18 or over, that your profile is true, and that you do not claim results, ranks or schools you cannot prove. Families tend to look for a strong degree in the subject, experience teaching entrance batches or individual aspirants, and real fluency with previous years' papers. Many good JEE and NEET tutors have prepared for these exams themselves, but your own rank is not something to advertise unless you can show it.
In the free demo, parents watch how you handle a problem the student got wrong: whether you diagnose before you explain, show a faster route as well as the full one, and leave the student with a few targeted questions to try alone.
How entrance leads reach you on NXTutors
A request is matched to you on subject, class band and mode, and for home lessons on whether the family's sector lies inside your travel areas or zone. You are first shown a masked card: the class or 'dropper', a short description such as 'NEET, physics numericals alongside coaching', the area, preferred timing, a budget band and why you fit. It never shows the family's name or number.
Unlocking a lead uses credits, currently between 80 and 240 credits per lead, depending on how complete the request is and how soon the family needs a tutor; the price is on the card before you commit. Up to five tutors can unlock one lead, after which it is marked Full, and it expires after about seven days. You then send one proposal with a message, your fee per hour and up to three demo slots, and chat opens once the family replies or shortlists you. A paid plan alone never opens chat.
You receive leads only after our team approves your ID; credits come back automatically if a lead is fake, duplicate or withdrawn.
Fees, timings and your share
You set your fee for each class, and parents see it before the free demo. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Within that, entrance fees move with the subject, JEE Advanced depth versus JEE Main or NEET level, the hours per week, travel time, and whether you also cover the school board paper.
Under the platform's current rules (see /tutor-terms), home tuition pays you 50% of the first month's fee and the full fee from the second month, and online tuition pays you 70% of the fee every month. These are terms, not an income estimate. Coaching timetables push many entrance lessons late into the evening or onto weekends, so state your real free hours on your profile; online classes often fit those slots better than travel does.
Joining as a JEE or NEET tutor
Apply through /become-a-tutor; the form writes a WhatsApp message and the team replies to set up your account. Confirm with a one-time code at first login, then add your subjects, JEE and NEET levels, classes, fee per class, mode and travel areas, and upload your ID under Documents. Tutors who join go through an ID check: you confirm your phone or email with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID (Aadhaar, voter ID, passport or driving licence, front and back), which our team reviews. The Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID. It is not a police or background check; see /how-we-verify-tutors. Many entrance students are minors, so keep the parent in the loop, teach where an adult is present or the online class can be observed, and follow /safeguarding-policy.
The free plan includes 160 lead credits a month. Optional paid plans add credits, AI tools and visibility in places labelled Featured (see /pricing), but never change how tutors are ranked for a request and do not promise leads or students. Browse /tuition-jobs, including /tuition-jobs/kota, /tuition-jobs/delhi, /tuition-jobs/hyderabad and /tuition-jobs/pune, and see /online-tutor-jobs and /ib-igcse-tutor-jobs.
Women tutors welcome
For women tutors: you set the terms
Women tutors are welcome on NXTutors, for home classes, online classes or both. You decide how, where and when you teach. These are the controls the product gives you, and the habits our safeguarding policy asks of tutors and families.
- Choose home, online or hybrid teaching on your profile, and change it whenever you like.
- List the areas you travel to: home requests come only from those areas.
- Set your own days and timings; requests are matched to the hours you give.
- Every match starts with a demo class, and our safeguarding policy asks the parent to be at home for it.
- Teach where a parent or another adult is at home; in gated societies the family adds you to the gate or visitor register.
- Keep messages with the parent or a family group, never a child's private chat.
- Every tutor who joins goes through the same ID check. It confirms identity; it is not a police check.
- Stop any time. If anything worries you, stop the classes and tell us on WhatsApp or through the contact page.
Read the safeguarding policy and how the ID check works.
Why tutors choose NXTutors
What is different from a directory listing or a tuition bureau.
-
You set your fee
Your fee per class is on your profile, and families see it before the demo, so there is no haggling after a good class.
-
Matched, nearest first
Each request goes to two or three tutors who fit it, nearest first, not to a long list of people chasing the same family.
-
Demo first
The first class is a free demo. Families decide after meeting you, not from a phone call or a price list.
-
No made-up leads
We never show invented requests. The only request details on these pages are real and anonymised, and only once there are three or more.
-
An ID check for everyone
Every tutor who joins goes through the same ID check. Real tutors who pass carry the Verified badge; sample profiles are always labelled.
-
AI-first, with real teachers
Parents can ask NXT AI about your profile and compare tutors side by side. The teaching is always yours.
Tutor plans and what each includes
Tutor plans are listed on our pricing page with what each one includes. Read them before you apply; we do not quote prices on this page. Tutors are independent: you set your own fee, and families pay you for the classes they take.
Questions from tutors
Do I need to have cleared JEE or NEET myself?
No. NXTutors sets no exam score or rank as a condition of joining. Families care whether you can solve and explain entrance-level problems clearly, and they judge that in the free demo. If you mention your own exam result on your profile, it must be something you can prove, as the tutor terms require.
Can I teach only one subject for JEE or NEET?
Yes. List only the subject and level you teach, for example JEE Main chemistry or NEET biology. Many families prefer a separate specialist for each subject, so a single-subject profile is common. Requests are matched on subject and class band, so you will not be offered subjects you have not listed.
Are droppers part of the requests on NXTutors?
Yes, families of students taking a year after Class 12 to prepare again do post requests, usually for structure, test analysis and chapter rebuilding. If you are willing to work with droppers, say so on your profile and give the daytime slots you have free, since these students are not tied to school hours.
How much of the fee do I receive for entrance tuition?
The same rules apply as for all tuition on the platform: under the current terms in /tutor-terms, home tuition pays you 50% of the first month's fee and the full fee after that, and online tuition pays you 70% every month. We do not promise earnings; they depend on your fee, hours and families.
Is it free to join as a JEE or NEET tutor?
Yes. Joining and onboarding are free, and the free plan includes 160 lead credits a month. Paid plans are optional and are described on /pricing. Paying for a plan never moves you up the ranking for a family's request; extra visibility appears only in places clearly labelled Featured.
Can I teach JEE or NEET students online in other cities?
Yes. Online requests are matched on subject, class and level rather than where you live, which suits specialists teaching students in coaching hubs. Agree the video tool and a way to see the student's written working, such as a stylus or a camera above the notebook, with the parent before the demo.
Should I tell families exam dates and patterns?
Point them to the official source instead. JEE Main and NEET (UG) are conducted by NTA, and JEE Advanced information is on jeeadv.ac.in. Patterns, dates and eligibility are announced each year in official bulletins, so quoting them from memory risks giving a family outdated information.
