Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Bengaluru
Most Bengaluru families who ask for JEE or NEET help already pay for coaching. What they want from a home or online tutor is the missing piece: someone who fixes the doubts the coaching class leaves open, reviews mock tests honestly and keeps the II PUC or Class 12 board paper from slipping. In this city a third exam often sits in the same year, KCET, which ties the state engineering rank to board marks.
No open jee and neet requests in Bengaluru right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
If you teach entrance-level maths, physics, chemistry or biology, you can join NXTutors free, choose home, online or both, list the zones you can reach and set your fee. This page explains how entrance tuition works in Bengaluru, from the exam rules to the clock.
JEE Main, as NTA's 2026 bulletin describes Paper 1, is a three-hour computer-based test of 25 questions in each of maths, physics and chemistry, 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical-value, worth 300 marks, with four for a right answer and one deducted for a wrong one. It ran in two sessions and the better score counted, and only the 2,50,000 highest-ranked could sit JEE Advanced. NEET (UG) in 2026 was a pen-and-paper sitting of 180 questions, 90 biology and 45 each in physics and chemistry, for 720 marks, marked the same way, with ties broken by biology first.
KCET changes the job for Karnataka students. KEA runs four separate 60-question papers, one mark each, no negative marking, 80 minutes including ten for the OMR sheet. For engineering, the rank uses PCM marks from both the CET and II PUC or Class 12 in equal shares, and there is an eligibility floor in those subjects. A medical aspirant still registers with KEA for counselling. So a tutor here teaches one chapter in three styles: written board answers, quick one-mark CET questions and harder JEE or NEET problems.
Requests usually name a single subject, because the coaching institute covers the full syllabus. Families also ask for a format: physics at home for 75 to 90 minutes on a free afternoon, biology recall online two or three evenings a week, chemistry split between numericals at home and inorganic checks online. Repeat-year students, with daytime free, open the whole city to a tutor.
The Bengaluru clock is the real constraint. Traffic on the Outer Ring Road peaks in the morning and from early evening, the Hebbal flyover funnels airport and office traffic, and Electronic City's shift changes load Hosur Road at set hours. A tutor twenty minutes away at four o'clock can be an hour away at half past six. The slots that tend to hold are straight after school on a free weekday, an online doubt slot after coaching ends, and Saturday or Sunday mornings for full-paper review.
Metro access widens your area. The Purple Line runs east to west, the Green Line north-west to south, and the Yellow Line has served Hosur Road down to Electronic City since August 2025; the Pink and Blue lines are still being built. A physics tutor in Rajajinagar can reach Jayanagar on the Green Line, while one in Hebbal is better off staying north of the flyover and teaching the south online.
Entrance families compare tutors quickly and on evidence. Your profile should name the subject, the exams and the board years you teach, plus the slot you can keep: "JEE physics, II PUC and CBSE, weekday 4 pm on the Purple Line, online after coaching". If you know the KCET rank rule well, say so; it is something many outside tutors miss.
In the demo, run a short mini-mock, perhaps ten questions in about twelve minutes, and then review the slowest answers, not only the wrong ones. Ask what the coaching sheet covered this week and show how your session would fit around it. Give the parent a plan for the next month that names the board paper as well as the entrance exam. The modules below set out credits, leads and how you get paid.
Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.
Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Usually yes. They want doubt clearing, mock review and board protection rather than a second full course. Fix your slot after the coaching timetable is known and keep it on a fixed weekday.
Most PUC science students sit it, so it helps. KCET papers are 60 one-mark MCQs with no negative marking, and the engineering rank blends CET and II PUC marks. Students strong in JEE practice usually find CET questions manageable once they practise the pace.
It suits online well: short, frequent recall sessions with no traffic involved. Physics usually goes better at home, and chemistry can be split. Offer the format that suits the subject.
Those on an open metro line: the Green Line from Yeshwanthpur to Kanakapura Road, the Purple Line from Kengeri to Whitefield, and the Yellow Line to Electronic City. Hebbal, Hennur and Bannerghatta Road depend on roads.
Yes. KEA treats II PUC and Class 12 alike as the qualifying exam, so their board marks feed the rank in the same way. They should compare the CET syllabus with their own books and practise OMR shading.
Yes, and they often have weekday daytime free, when roads are quieter and tutors can come from further across Bengaluru. Mention daytime availability on your profile.
