Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Bengaluru
Science tuition in Bengaluru is middle-school and board-year work. Parents of a Class 7 child want someone who turns activities into exact sentences and labelled sketches; parents of a Class 10 student want answers shaped to the marks on offer in the SSLC, CBSE or ICSE paper. One tutor usually covers physics, chemistry and biology together up to Class 10, which is why a general science tutor who can also spot weak algebra inside a numerical is valued here.
No open science requests in Bengaluru right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
NXTutors lets you join free, pick home, online or both, and choose which Bengaluru zones you will travel to. Families see your fee before the free demo. Below is what science parents in this city ask for, which papers you will meet, where the work sits, and how to make a parent choose you after the first lesson.
Start with the book on the desk. A CBSE child in Classes 6 and 7 uses the NCERT Curiosity books, built around activities; this session Class 9 has the new NCERT Exploration book; ICSE schools choose their own text; and Karnataka state-board children follow the state syllabus towards the SSLC. Many requests come in Class 8, when physics, chemistry and biology start to separate and units and word equations begin to cost marks.
The SSLC is a big source of Class 10 work. KSEAB's 2026-27 blueprint gives SSLC Science the same shape as maths: an 80-mark written paper of 38 questions across 13 chapters, from Chemical Reactions and Equations to Our Environment. Carbon and its Compounds, Life Processes, Light and Electricity carry eight marks each, and How do Organisms Reproduce holds the single five-mark question. The board publishes model papers with model answers, a question bank and full-mark answer papers from real candidates, which is exactly the material a state-board science tutor should bring.
CBSE Class 10 science is a three-hour, 80-mark board paper with 20 more from the school. By unit, Chemical Substances and World of Living carry 25 each, Effects of Current 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5. For 2026-27 the electric motor, electromagnetic induction and the generator, evolution, and the periodic classification of elements are assessed only in school. ICSE students write longer answers and need definitions word-perfect. Families on each board ask whether you know their paper before they ask anything else.
Science requests arrive from every zone, but the after-school hour is short, so travel decides who can take them. Jayanagar, JP Nagar and Banashankari, and Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar and Yeshwanthpur, are largely independent houses near Green Line stations, which suits a tutor coming by metro straight after school. Vijayanagar, RR Nagar and Kengeri sit on the Purple Line in the west, with plotted layouts in Basaveshwaranagar and Nagarbhavi where there is room for a two-wheeler, though some streets are steep.
The eastern and south-eastern belts are different. Whitefield, Marathahalli and KR Puram are mostly towers and gated villa communities; Marathahalli has no open station, so time lessons between school and the office rush. Electronic City's apartment communities keep gate lists and office shift changes shape local traffic. Hennur, Kalyan Nagar and Banaswadi have no metro, so a tutor who already lives there can build a compact weekday round of Class 6 to 10 students.
Science parents in Bengaluru often hire for one stage and keep the tutor for three years if the habits stick. Write your profile around stages: "Classes 6 to 8, CBSE and ICSE, activity-based" or "SSLC Science Class 10, English medium, model-paper practice". Add the Bengaluru zones you can reach by 5 pm, and mention the metro line you live on. Parents read that as reliability.
Make the demo short and visible. Take one chapter the child has just done, ask three questions of rising difficulty, and show the parent where the answer lost marks: no unit, no labelled diagram, a missing state symbol. Then describe a normal week. A tutor who leaves behind a one-page plan for the term is easier to pick than one who simply teaches a chapter. Details on credits and how you get paid sit lower on this page.
Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.
Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
The Karnataka state board towards the SSLC, CBSE, and ICSE are the main three for Classes 6 to 10, with IB MYP and Cambridge IGCSE science in some families. List only the boards and classes you have taught recently.
KSEAB's 2026-27 blueprint sets an 80-mark written paper of 38 questions over 13 chapters: 16 one-mark questions with no choice, then two-, three-, four- and five-mark questions with internal choices. Check the board's site each year, since blueprints are revised.
Usually yes, and Bengaluru families prefer it up to Class 10. One tutor sees how the strands connect and can fix maths gaps that show up in physics. From Class 11 most families switch to subject specialists.
Yes, if you keep to the Purple Line belt and time visits between school and the office rush on the ORR and Whitefield Main Road. Towers there register visitors and some ask for photo ID on the first visit, so carry it.
They want the practical file in order. CBSE Class 10 lists experiments that board questions are built on, so a tutor who checks diagrams, observations and conclusions in the file adds marks even without apparatus.
It helps. A tutor in Electronic City or Yelahanka can keep home lessons to their own zone and teach other Bengaluru students online, and a parent may move a session online on a heavy-traffic evening rather than cancel it.
