Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Hennur, Kalyan Nagar & Banaswadi, Bengaluru
No metro line runs through this north-east zone yet, and for a tutor who already lives here that is an advantage. When families cannot easily draw on tutors from across the city, the ones a short road trip away become the practical choice for regular weekday lessons. Hennur, Kalyan Nagar, HRBR Layout, Banaswadi and Thanisandra sit around the Outer Ring Road and are residential colonies rather than an office district.
No open home-tuition requests in Hennur, Kalyan Nagar & Banaswadi right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; add Hennur, Kalyan Nagar & Banaswadi to your travel areas so they can reach you.
The housing differs from one locality to the next. Kalyan Nagar, often taken to include HRBR Layout and Chelekere, is organised colony streets of independent houses and builder floors on numbered blocks and wide roads, with newer apartment blocks and busy cafe streets; Kammanahalli is next door. HRBR Layout's numbered blocks and parks hold mostly houses and multi-floor buildings on individual sites. Banaswadi, once a village on the city's edge, mixes bungalows, independent houses, builder floors and flats. Hennur, just outside the ORR, has apartment complexes and villa communities on Hennur Road and houses and plots in the layouts behind, while Thanisandra, near Nagawara and Kothanur, is mostly flats in gated societies.
Plan on the road. The nearest open stations are Baiyappanahalli and Benniganahalli on the Purple Line, so a tutor using the metro still needs an auto or bus for the last stretch. Banaswadi railway station, in Maruthi Sevanagar on the Yesvantpur to Baiyappanahalli line, helps a few. The Blue Line from KR Puram towards the airport, with stations planned at Horamavu, HRBR Layout, Kalyana Nagara, HBR Layout and Nagawara, is under construction and not running. Most tutors therefore arrive by bus, two-wheeler or cab.
Families here, like families elsewhere in Bengaluru, may need help with the Karnataka board's SSLC or PUC, with CBSE, or with ICSE and ISC, IB or IGCSE subjects. What the zone does tell you is how it matches. A request from Hennur, Kalyan Nagar, HRBR Layout, Banaswadi or Thanisandra lists tutors who live in those localities first, then tutors who already travel to this part of the city, then the rest of Bengaluru, then online tutors. Two or three tutors are sent to the family.
If you live in Kothanur, Kammanahalli or Nagawara, close to the zone's edge, add the localities you can reach as travel areas so you are not left in the citywide list. If you live further away, an online offer is the realistic way to reach these families, and for specialist subjects some will be glad of it.
Kalyan Nagar and HRBR Layout are mostly houses and builder buildings on individual sites, so the family meets you at the door. The block and cross numbering makes addresses easy to find on a first visit; ask for both. Near the cafe streets, ask where a two-wheeler can be parked before you arrive. Apartment buildings may keep a visitor register. Thanisandra is the main exception: its gated complexes need your name and phone number at the security desk, along with the tower and flat number, before the demo.
Whatever the housing, confirm on the first call whether a parent will be at home during the demo, and keep messages about timings and fees with the parent rather than the student. Small habits like these make a family in a quiet colony more comfortable continuing with a tutor who comes from outside their street.
After-school slots avoid the heaviest Outer Ring Road traffic, and weekend lessons are easier still. Thanisandra Main Road carries heavy office traffic, so for families there a weekday evening that starts later, or a weekend morning, keeps the lesson from slipping. If you teach two students in neighbouring colonies, such as Kalyan Nagar and HRBR Layout, back-to-back slots save a second trip across the ORR.

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Only with a reliable last leg. You would ride the Purple Line to Baiyappanahalli or Benniganahalli and take an auto or bus from there. Tutors who already live in Hennur, Kalyan Nagar, Kothanur or Banaswadi have the clearer advantage until the Blue Line opens.
Rarely. Most homes are independent houses and builder buildings, so you go straight to the door. Apartment buildings are the exception and may keep a visitor register.
Ask them to give your name and phone number to the security desk, and to share the tower and flat number. Agree an after-school or weekend slot, since Thanisandra Main Road is busy with office traffic.
No. Joining is free and paid plans are optional. You set your own fee, which families see before the free demo. The section on leads and credits further down this page explains how applying works.
Yes. Tick online on your profile and agree the mix with each family after the demo. A home session at the weekend and a shorter online class midweek is one pattern that suits this road-dependent zone.
