Female tutor jobs in Bengaluru

Some Bengaluru families ask specifically for a woman tutor, most often for a daughter in her SSLC, PUC or board year, for a young child after school, or for an IB or IGCSE student in the senior years. Parents can filter by the gender a tutor chooses on her own profile, and some write "woman tutor only" or "preferred, flexible" in their request. If you are a woman who teaches, these requests are a real and steady part of the work here.

NXTutors is open to every tutor, men and women alike; this page is about the requests where a family has asked for a woman. Joining is free. You decide home, online or hybrid, choose the zones and the hours, and set your fee. Below is what these families want, how to plan your journeys across the city and how to stay comfortable on every visit.

Who asks for women tutors in Bengaluru

The most common case is a daughter in a board year. Families name the exact paper, Karnataka SSLC or PUC, CBSE, ICSE or ISC, and every subject, and a woman tutor who has taught that paper is worth a slightly longer trip to them. Next come young children after school, where a short, frequent visit matters more than specialist depth, so a tutor from the family's own layout is ideal.

The third case is IB or IGCSE in the senior years. Specialists in one programme are thinner in any single zone, so a woman-tutor preference combined with a short trip can leave few names. Families in that position often keep the preference and go hybrid or online. A woman tutor who offers online sessions, or one weekend home visit with weekday classes on screen, fills exactly that gap.

Requests reach tutors across subjects, from PUC physics in Kannada medium to primary reading. The preference is easiest to meet where tutors can arrive from several directions by metro or road, and harder where one junction or a long stretch without a station decides the trip.

Where in Bengaluru the work is

Plan by journey, not by distance. Four stops along one metro line is often an easier trip than a short drive that crosses the ORR or Silk Board junction at office time. Jayanagar, JP Nagar and Banashankari and Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar and Yeshwanthpur have Green Line stations close to most homes, which are mostly houses, so station-to-door trips are short. Vijayanagar, RR Nagar and Kengeri on the Purple Line spare you Mysore Road at rush hour.

In Koramangala, HSR and Bellandur, keep to your side of the ORR; on Sarjapur Road one fixed weekly slot means security knows you. In BTM, Bannerghatta Road and Electronic City, agree the station exit and auto point for the last leg. Hennur, Kalyan Nagar and Banaswadi have no metro yet, so a tutor already living there is the realistic weekday choice, and in Hebbal and Yelahanka it helps to live on the family's side of the Hebbal flyover.

What families in Bengaluru expect

  • Choose only the zones and hours you are happy with, including a finishing time you will keep.
  • Meet each family first at the free demo, held where we ask a parent to be at home.
  • In Whitefield, Sarjapur Road and Electronic City towers, ask to be registered by name at the security desk or visitor app, and carry photo ID.
  • Ask for the tower and flat number, or for a house the block, stage, cross and main road and a map pin.
  • Teach in a shared space such as the dining table or living room, with an adult in the house for younger children.
  • Keep fees, timings and messages with a parent, not the student's own phone.
  • Agree an online fallback for heavy rain or traffic disruption, so no week is lost and nobody is stuck on the road.

How to get picked

On your profile, state your gender setting, your subjects and boards, the metro line or zone you live in and the hours you teach. Families who asked for a woman tutor are often also asking for reliability, so a clear finishing time and an online option count in your favour. If you teach SSLC or PUC subjects in Kannada medium, or IB and IGCSE courses, say so; those combinations are harder for families to find.

At the demo, check that the parent is home, confirm the gate arrangement for future visits and agree the weekly slot before you leave. Teach a short, focused piece from the child's own syllabus and explain your plan. If anything worries you at any stage, stop the arrangement and tell NXTutors with the word Safeguarding; in danger, call 112 first. The modules below cover fees, leads and how you get paid.

Women tutors welcome

For women tutors: you set the terms

Women tutors are welcome on NXTutors, for home classes, online classes or both. You decide how, where and when you teach. These are the controls the product gives you, and the habits our safeguarding policy asks of tutors and families.

  • Choose home, online or hybrid teaching on your profile, and change it whenever you like.
  • List the areas you travel to: home requests come only from those areas.
  • Set your own days and timings; requests are matched to the hours you give.
  • Every match starts with a demo class, and our safeguarding policy asks the parent to be at home for it.
  • Teach where a parent or another adult is at home; in gated societies the family adds you to the gate or visitor register.
  • Keep messages with the parent or a family group, never a child's private chat.
  • Every tutor who joins goes through the same ID check. It confirms identity; it is not a police check.
  • Stop any time. If anything worries you, stop the classes and tell us on WhatsApp or through the contact page.

Read the safeguarding policy and how the ID check works.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

How do families in Bengaluru find a woman tutor?

They can filter by the gender each tutor chose on her own profile, or write the preference, and how strict it is, in their request. Your profile setting is what puts you in those results.

Can I limit home lessons to my own layout?

Yes. Choose only the zones you want, perhaps your own layout and one metro line, and teach others online. Home requests follow the zones you list.

What is the ID check for tutors?

Every tutor who joins confirms phone or email with a one-time code and uploads a government photo ID for the team to review; the Verified badge appears only after that review. It is an identity check, not a police or background check.

Are evening lessons expected?

Only if you offer them. List the hours you keep free; a two-hour Saturday morning session is realistic when roads are calmer, and online classes cover weekday evenings you would rather not travel.

Does this mean male tutors cannot apply in Bengaluru?

No. NXTutors welcomes all tutors. Some families state a preference for a woman tutor, and this page is about those requests; most requests have no such preference.

What if the gated society asks for my details each time?

Ask the family to register you as a regular visitor once the arrangement is settled, so weekly entry does not depend on a phone call, and every visit is still logged.
