Biology tutor jobs in Bengaluru

Biology is the subject Bengaluru families most often split between home and screen. A NEET aspirant may want closed-book recall checks three evenings a week, which need no travel at all, and a home visit only for diagrams and long answers. A PUC student may want someone who teaches from the state textbook rather than an NCERT guide. A biology tutor who understands both patterns can fill a week without crossing the Outer Ring Road at rush hour.

Who asks for biology tutors in Bengaluru

Before Class 11, biology lives inside general science for CBSE and the Karnataka SSLC, so most dedicated biology requests begin with I PUC or Class 11. On the state board, biology is taken in the pre-university science stream from the PU department's textbooks, revised in 2023, and the II PUC paper is set and marked by KSEAB. Families ask for a tutor who keeps diagrams and definitions in the form the board expects and practises its model papers. For farm-science courses, KCET also includes a biology paper of 60 one-mark questions, and KEA ranks farm science on all four PCMB subjects from the CET and the qualifying exam in equal shares.

CBSE biology (044) in each senior year is a three-hour, 70-mark theory paper plus a 30-mark practical. In 2026-27, Class 11 leans on Human Physiology at 18 marks, with Diversity of Living Organisms and Cell at 15 each; in Class 12, Genetics and Evolution carries 20 and Reproduction 16. ISC Biology in Class 12 splits 70 theory marks across Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology, and Ecology and Environment, and adds practical, project and file marks.

NEET (UG) drives much of the senior demand. The 2026 bulletin set 180 questions, 90 of them biology, with four marks for a correct answer and one deducted for a wrong one, and ties separated by biology marks first. Even a student heading for NEET must still register with KEA to take part in its counselling. IGCSE Biology (Cambridge 0610 or Edexcel 4BI1) and IB Diploma Biology at SL or HL make up a smaller specialist stream.

Where in Bengaluru the work is

Because biology recall works online, travel matters mostly for the home sessions you choose to keep. Jayanagar, JP Nagar and Banashankari is a good base: the Green Line runs through it to Kanakapura Road and most homes are independent houses with no gate list, so two home visits a week are easy. Indiranagar and Old Airport Road on the Purple Line suit mid-afternoon or weekend visits, with Baiyappanahalli as the station for CV Raman Nagar's township and gated complexes.

In Whitefield, Marathahalli and KR Puram, families mostly live in towers and villa communities; Marathahalli has no open station and the ORR and Whitefield Main Road fill at office hours, so one weekend home visit with online recall checks in the week is common. Hebbal, RT Nagar and Yelahanka are reached by road, and Yelahanka New Town houses are doorstep visits while newer societies register visitors at the gate.

What families in Bengaluru expect

  • Name your boards: Karnataka PUC, CBSE, ISC, IGCSE 0610 or 4BI1, IB SL or HL, and NEET.
  • Teach labelled diagrams from memory and the exact biological term the examiner expects.
  • For PUC students, teach from the state textbook the college uses and practise the board's model papers.
  • For NEET, run line-by-line NCERT recall and mock analysis with negative-marking discipline.
  • Show how state chapters line up with the NEET syllabus the National Medical Commission notifies, and where extra reading is needed.
  • Give genetics problems and pedigree charts real practice, since CBSE puts weight on analysis and data.
  • Guide an IB scientific investigation without writing any part of it.

How to get picked

Parents choosing a biology tutor in Bengaluru want to know two things quickly: can you teach my child's board, and how will you fit NEET in? Answer both in your profile headline. Add a sentence on format, for example "recall checks online on weekdays, diagrams and long answers at home on Saturday". If you have taught PUC biology recently, say so, because families often worry that a CBSE-only tutor will miss what the state paper rewards.

For the demo, pick one NCERT page and ask ten quick questions without the book, then have the student draw and label one structure from memory. Show the parent the gaps and the recall routine you would use. Leave a written weekly rhythm. The fee, leads and payment details below explain how you get paid when a family goes ahead.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Is there biology tuition for Class 9 and 10 in Bengaluru?

It usually comes as part of science, because CBSE and the SSLC treat biology as one strand of a science paper. Dedicated biology work starts with I PUC or Class 11. List science separately if you also teach younger classes.

Does KCET include biology?

Yes. KEA's 2026 bulletin lists a biology paper of 60 one-mark questions, used for farm science, veterinary and some other courses. Medical admission uses NEET, but students must still register with KEA.

Can I teach NEET biology fully online from Bengaluru?

Many families prefer it that way: short sessions two or three evenings a week, with no traffic involved. Some add an occasional home visit for diagrams and mock reviews. Choose both modes if you can.

What do ISC biology students need from a tutor?

Detailed answers with named structures, steady practice across the five Class 12 units, and help organising the practical file and project. CISCE publishes the regulations on cisce.org.

I live in HSR Layout. Which areas should I list?

Koramangala and HSR are doorstep visits on your side of the ORR, and the Yellow Line from Central Silk Board reaches BTM and Electronic City. Bellandur and Sarjapur Road are gated towers reached by road; list them only if you can keep weekday times.
