Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Bengaluru
Ask a Bengaluru parent what goes wrong in chemistry and you hear three different complaints: organic conversions that will not stay in memory, physical-chemistry numericals done without units, and inorganic facts learnt without reasons. A chemistry tutor here is often the one specialist a Class 11 or 12 family adds after the board year begins, and they choose by whether you know the paper their child writes.
No open chemistry requests in Bengaluru right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
NXTutors is free to join for tutors. You list your boards and classes, pick home, online or both, mark the zones you reach, and set your fee. This page lays out where chemistry demand comes from in Bengaluru, how the papers differ, and what makes a family choose you after the demo.
Second PUC chemistry is a large share of the work. The II PUC Chemistry paper in the board's 2026-27 material is 70 marks over three hours in Parts A to E, with a separate part of numerical problems. Log tables and a simple calculator are allowed but a scientific calculator is not, so students must be quick with logarithms by table. The PU department revised its chemistry books in 2023, and chapter names now track the NCERT Class 12 sequence, which lets a CBSE-trained tutor teach the content once they switch to the board's paper style.
CBSE Class 12 chemistry gives marks chapter by chapter. For 2026-27, organic chemistry is 33 of the 70 theory marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14; electrochemistry is the heaviest single chapter at 9, and aldehydes, ketones and acids the largest organic one. Solid state and the later p-block groups have left the Class 12 board paper, and four topics are assessed only in school. There are no calculators or log tables in the CBSE paper, which is the reverse of the PUC rule, and that difference catches tutors who move between boards.
For many families an entrance exam sits beside the board. KCET chemistry is a 60-question one-mark paper with no negative marking, NEET has 45 chemistry questions out of 180 with a mark deducted for a wrong answer, and JEE Main has 25. Since NTA sets its own syllabus, a topic removed from the CBSE list may still be tested. ISC, IB SL and HL chemistry and IGCSE chemistry add a smaller stream of specialist requests.
Chemistry slots often go after coaching or on weekends, so tutors who can travel in the off-peak hours have more choice. The Green Line from Yeshwanthpur through Malleshwaram and Rajajinagar to Jayanagar and Kanakapura Road serves two zones of mostly houses where entry is a doorbell. Indiranagar and the stretch towards Baiyappanahalli sit on the Purple Line, and Domlur has a bus terminus, so the compact eastern belt works without a vehicle, provided lessons start before the evening crowd on 100 Feet Road.
Koramangala, HSR and Bellandur are split by the Outer Ring Road; Koramangala's inner blocks and HSR's sectors are doorstep visits, while Bellandur and Sarjapur Road are gated towers where the security desk registers every visitor. Tutors on the HSR side can use Central Silk Board on the Yellow Line. A common pattern for NEET chemistry is numericals at home and quick inorganic recall checks online, which keeps travel to one or two visits a week.
A chemistry profile wins when it shows you understand how this city's students are stretched. Mention the boards and whether you teach PUC chemistry in English or Kannada medium, then add the entrance exam you know. If you only take evenings after coaching, say so and add online. A parent in Whitefield or Electronic City with a long commute will weigh a tutor who offers a weekend home visit plus one online check-in very differently from one who can only come at six.
In the demo, choose one organic conversion chain and one numerical from the student's syllabus. Let the student attempt both, then show where the reasoning stopped. Close with which chapters you would rebuild first and why, referring to the marks each carries. Further down, this page explains how leads, credits and payment work for tutors.

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
The chapters largely track NCERT, but the paper differs: Parts A to E with a separate numerical part, and log tables plus a simple calculator allowed. CBSE allows neither. Practise the board's model papers before teaching a PUC student.
Often both. Physical-chemistry numericals and organic reasoning go well at home; inorganic recall from NCERT suits short online checks. A tutor who offers the split fits families with long commutes.
For 2026-27, solid state and the p-block from Group 15 on are gone from the board paper, and polymers, chemistry in everyday life, surface chemistry and isolation of elements are marked only in school. Entrance syllabi may still include some of these.
Yes. KCET chemistry is 60 one-mark MCQs with no negative marking, based on the I and II PUC syllabus, so the same chapters serve both. Add timed sets and printed OMR practice, and confirm current rules on KEA's site.
Only the zones you can reach at the hour students are free, usually late afternoon or weekend morning. Tutors on the Green, Purple or Yellow Lines can cover more; in Hennur, Hebbal and Bannerghatta Road, list them only if you live nearby.
